Thus, the power unit 12 is supported by the rear of the lower frame 33, the front of the pivot frame 32, and below the main frame 31.
[0092] The power unit 12 of this embodiment is an engine comprising a single-cylinder internal combustion engine, with a cylinder portion 24 disposed upright on the upper front portion of a crankcase 23. Hereinafter, the power unit 12 will be referred to as "engine 12." Furthermore, the power unit 12 is not limited to an internal combustion engine and may also be an electric motor. When the power unit 12 is comprised of an internal combustion engine, it is not limited to a single-cylinder engine; a wide range of known engines can be employed.
[0093] The saddle-ride type vehicle 10 includes a vehicle body cover 50 that covers various parts of the vehicle frame 11. The vehicle body cover 50 includes a front cover (also called a front hood) 51 that covers the front portion of the vehicle body from the front, a tank cover 52 that covers the fuel tank 29, a pair of left and right side covers 53 that cover the sides of the vehicle body, and a rear cover 54 that covers the lower side of the seat 17 from the left and right sides behind the side covers 53. The front cover 51 includes a windshield 51s that extends rearward and upward in front of the handlebars 21.
[0094] Figure 2 It is a plan view of the saddle-ride type vehicle 10 . Figure 3 This is a diagram showing the handle 21 and the surrounding structure from the rear of the handle.
[0095] The handlebar 21 constitutes at least a part of a steering system 21s that steers left and right integrally with the front wheel 13 and the front fork 14. Figure 2 and Figure 3As shown, the handlebar 21 includes handlebar tubes 21a extending horizontally. The handlebar tubes 21a are formed from a rigid tubular material such as metal and are attached to a component (e.g., a top member) on the upper portion of the front fork via a handlebar bracket 21b. While the illustrated embodiment shows a single handlebar tube 21a, a so-called split handlebar configuration, in which the handlebar tubes 21a are two, may also be employed depending on the specifications of the saddle-ride type vehicle 10.
[0096] Left and right grips 61L and 61R are attached to both ends of the handlebar 21a. The right grip 61R is a throttle grip (rotatable grip) that allows throttle operation, while the left grip 61L is a fixed (non-rotatable) grip.
[0097] Left and right switch boxes 62L and 62R and left and right brackets 63L and 63R are attached to the left and right inner sides of the grips 61L and 61R of the handlebar 21a. Appropriate operating switches such as a starter switch, a turn switch, and a horn switch are arranged in each switch box 62L and 62R.
[0098] Left and right brackets 63L and 63R are located on the left and right inner sides of the switch boxes 62L and 62R, respectively, and support left and right operating levers 64L and 64R, operated by the occupant, and left and right rearview mirrors 66L and 66R. The right bracket 63R supports the front brake lever, which serves as the operating lever 64R, while the left bracket 63L supports the clutch lever, which serves as the operating lever 64L. Furthermore, the right bracket 63R includes a front brake master cylinder 67R, located on the left and right inner sides of the switch box 62R and forward of the handlebar 21a.
[0099] The left bracket 63L is fixed to the handlebar tube 21a by a fastening member 71. In this configuration, the fastening member 71 is a hexagonal bolt, but is not limited to a hexagonal bolt. This bracket 63L is an example of a "handlebar fixing member fixed to the handlebar by a predetermined fastening member" in the present invention.
[0100] Furthermore, the left and right brackets 63L and 63R support the operating levers 64L and 64R, the rearview mirrors 66L and 66R, and the like. However, the components supported by the brackets 63L and 63R may be changed as appropriate.
[0101] Figure 4 This is a diagram showing the handle 21 and the surrounding structure from the left side of the handle. Figure 5 This is a diagram showing the left side grip portion 61L and the surrounding structure from an oblique rear side. Figure 6 This is a diagram showing the left side grip portion 61L and the surrounding structure from the front.
[0102] like Figure 2 、 Figures 4 to 6As shown, left and right hand guards (also called knuckle guards) 68 are attached to the handle 21 to cover the front of each grip portion 61L, 61R and the operating levers 64L, 64R. The right hand guard 68 and the left hand guard 68 are symmetrical in shape.
[0103] In this structure, the left and right grip portions 61L, 61R, the left and right switch boxes 62L, 62R, the left and right brackets 63L, 63R, the components supported by each bracket 63L, 63R (operating levers 64L, 64R, rearview mirrors 66L, 66R and master cylinder 67R) and the left and right hand guard components 68 constitute a part of the steering system 21s that steers left and right integrally with the handle 21, and can be called "components surrounding the handle" and "handle fixing components."
[0104] like Figure 3 As shown, the left and right center portions of the handle 21 are arranged at a position lower than the left and right grip portions 61L, and a meter 72 for displaying the speed of the saddle-ride type vehicle 10 is supported above and in front of the left and right center portions.
[0105] like Figures 3 to 6 As shown, in the saddle-ride type vehicle 10, an external device connection unit 81 is mounted on the left bracket 63L. The external device connection unit 81 has a USB port 82, and an external device can be connected to the USB port 82 via a wire. USB is an abbreviation for Universal Serial Bus.
[0106] The USB port 82 is also called a USB insertion port, a USB terminal, a connection terminal, and a connection terminal port, and is an example of a “connection terminal” in the present invention.
[0107] Figure 7 、 Figure 8 and Figure 9 1 and 2 are exploded perspective views showing the external device connection unit 81 from the upper left, the right, and the upper right, respectively.
[0108] External device connection unit 81 includes USB unit 83 , a rubber member 84 covering at least a portion of USB unit 83 , a bracket member 85 attached to left bracket 63L, and a cover member 86 , with USB unit 83 being held between cover member 86 and bracket member 85 .
[0109] The USB unit 83 has a rectangular parallelepiped main body 83a, a USB port 82 protruding downward and having a generally cylindrical appearance on the lower surface of the main body 83a, and a USB connector 83b protruding upward and having a generally cylindrical appearance on the upper surface of the bracket member 85.
[0110] A wiring harness 90 extending from the vehicle's ECU or battery is connected to the USB connector 83b. The main body 83a of the USB unit 83 houses circuitry that performs power conversion and other functions between the USB connector 83b and the USB port 82. This allows power consistent with the USB unit 83's specifications to be supplied to any external device connected to the USB port 82. The USB connector 83b is also referred to as a connector, a wiring harness connector, or a wiring connector, and is an example of a "wiring harness connector" in the present invention.
[0111] like Figure 7 As shown in FIG. 1 , the USB unit 83 is arranged at the rear of the vehicle body of the bracket member 85 with the USB port 82 facing downward and the USB connector 83b facing upward. A rubber member 84 is arranged at the rear of the vehicle body of the USB unit 83, and a cover member 86 is arranged at the rear of the vehicle body of the rubber member 84.
[0112] The rubber member 84 includes a concave first covering portion 84a that covers the main body 83a of the USB unit 83 from behind. Furthermore, the rubber member 84 includes an upwardly convex second covering portion 84b that covers the USB connector 83b of the USB unit 83 and a portion of the wiring harness 90. The rubber member 84 is formed of a material that has elasticity (also called flexibility) and waterproof properties.
[0113] The first cover portion 84a includes a back cover portion 84a1 that covers the back surface of the main body 83a, an upper cover portion 84a2 that covers the upper surface of the main body 83a excluding the USB connector 83b, and a lower cover portion 84a3 that covers the lower surface of the main body 83a. The first cover portion 84a suppresses vibrations and shocks transmitted to the USB unit 83 during driving, and prevents the main body 83a and the like from getting wet due to rain or the like.
[0114] The lower surface cover 84a3 is provided with an opening 84k for exposing the USB port 82. As described above, the USB port 82 faces downward, so even if the USB port 82 is exposed to the outside, it is possible to prevent the USB port 82 from getting wet by rain or the like.
[0115] Furthermore, a cover member may be provided to cover the USB port 82 from below. The cover member may be provided integrally with the rubber member 84 or the cover member 86, or may be provided separately from these members.
[0116] The second covering portion 84b is formed into a cylindrical shape that covers the USB connector 83b from the top to the upper surface of the main body 83a, front to back, left to right. The second covering portion 84b has a bulged portion 84b1 that bulges forward, and the bulged portion 84b1 covers the portion of the wiring harness 90 connected to the USB connector 83b that extends from the USB connector 83b.
[0117] The wiring harness 90 extends upward from the USB connector 83b, then curves forward and downward and then extends downward. The bulged portion 84b1 is formed to cover the wiring harness 90 extending from the USB connector 83b from above and in front. The second covering portion 84b, including the bulged portion 84b1, prevents the USB connector 83b and wiring harness 90 from getting wet by rain or other factors, and also reduces vibrations and shocks transmitted to the USB connector 83b and wiring harness 90 during driving.
[0118] The cover member 86 has a concave covering portion 86a that covers the concave first covering portion 84a of the rubber member 84 from behind. Furthermore, the cover member 86 has a rearwardly recessed exposed portion 86b that exposes the upwardly convex second covering portion 84b of the rubber member 84. Furthermore, the cover member 86 has a cover-side fixing portion 86c that is fixed to the bracket member 85. The cover member 86 is formed of a material having higher rigidity than the rubber member 84.
[0119] The covering portion 86a of the cover member 86 includes a back surface covering portion 86a1 that covers the back surface of the back surface covering portion 84a1 of the first covering portion 84a; an upper surface covering portion 86a2 that covers the upper surface of the first covering portion 84a; left and right side surface covering portions 86a3 that cover the left and right side surfaces of the first covering portion 84a and the left and right side surfaces of the main body 83a of the USB unit 83; and a lower surface covering portion 86a4 that covers the lower surface of the first covering portion 84a, avoiding the USB port 82. Furthermore, the covering portion 86a includes a curved portion 86a5 that curves inwardly from the front end of one of the left and right side surface covering portions 86a3.
[0120] When the cover member 86 is covered on the main body 83a of the USB unit 83 from the rear of the vehicle body via the rubber member 84, as described later, Figure 16 As shown in FIG. 8 , the bent portion 86 a 5 is engaged with a portion of the front surface of the main body 83 a , thereby making it difficult for the cover member 86 to fall off from the USB unit 83 .
[0121] like Figures 7 to 9As shown, the cover-side fixing portion 86c is formed into a plate-like shape that protrudes forward from one of the left and right covered portions 86a. It has a hole 86c1 through which the fastening member 73 passes. By passing the fastening member 73 through the hole 86c1 and fastening it to the bracket member 85, the cover-side fixing portion 86c is fixed to the bracket member 85. In this case, the cover member 86 functions as a pressing member that presses the rubber member 84 and the USB unit 83 toward the bracket member 85 on the front side of the vehicle body. As a result, the rubber member 84 and the USB unit 83 are sandwiched between the bracket member 85 and the cover member 86.
[0122] The cover member 86 also functions as a protective member for the main body 83a and first cover portion 84a of the USB unit 83. Thus, the cover member 86 protects the USB unit 83 and other components from surrounding components and passengers during steering or vehicle operation. Furthermore, the cover member 86 prevents the main body 83a and other components from getting wet due to rain or other factors.
[0123] Next, the bracket member 85 will be described.
[0124] Figure 10 、 Figure 11 、 Figure 12 and Figure 13 The diagrams show the external device connection unit 81 from the front, rear, left side, and top, respectively. Figure 14 is a perspective view showing the external device connection unit 81 from the front left side, Figure 15 This is a perspective view showing the external device connection unit 81 from the upper right. Figures 10 to 15 3 shows a state where the cover member 86 is removed, in other words, a state where the bracket member 85 , the USB unit 83 and the rubber member 84 are assembled.
[0125] In the following description, reference will be made to the diagrams showing the state in which the external device connection unit 81 is fixed to the bracket 63L from various directions. Figures 16 to 19 Provide explanation.
[0126] like Figures 10 to 15 As shown, the bracket member 85 includes a plate portion 85a for contact with the USB unit 83, a bracket-side first fixing portion 85b for securing the cover member 86, a bracket-side second fixing portion 85c for securing to the steering system 21s, and a protrusion 85d for engaging a portion of the steering system 21s. The bracket member 85 is formed from a rigid plate member such as a metal material or resin.
[0127] like Figure 9As shown, the plate portion 85a has: a first plate portion 85a1 in the shape of a rectangular plate that abuts the front surface of the main body portion 83a of the USB unit 83; a second plate portion 85a2 extending rearward from one left and right end side of the first plate portion 85a1; and a third plate portion 85a3 extending rearward from the upper end of the first plate portion 85a1.
[0128] The first plate portion 85a1 restricts the main body 83a of the USB unit 83 from moving forward, while the second plate portion 85a2 restricts the main body 83a of the USB unit 83 from moving left or right (left in this configuration). Furthermore, the third plate portion 85a3 restricts the main body 83a of the USB unit 83 from moving up or down (up in this configuration).
[0129] The first bracket-side fixing portion 85b is formed into a plate shape protruding forward from one end of the left and right sides of the first plate portion 85a1 and is provided with an internal thread hole 85b1 ( Figure 14 、 Figure 15 ). By passing the fastening member 73 through the hole portion 86c1 of the cover side fixing portion 86c and fastening it to the internal thread hole 85b1, as shown in FIG. Figures 16 to 19 As shown, the cover member 86 is fixed to the stay member 85. In this case, the fastening member 73 is fastened from the vehicle width direction inner side toward the vehicle width direction outer side.
[0130] By fixing the cover member 86 to the bracket member 85 , the cover member 86 can restrict rearward movement of the USB unit 83 and the rubber member 84 , and the plate portion 85 a can restrict forward movement of the USB unit 83 .
[0131] In this structure, by fastening one fastening member 73 from the vehicle width direction inner side toward the outer side, the USB unit 83, the rubber member 84 and the cover member 86 can be fixed to the bracket member 85. Therefore, the fixing and removal of the USB unit 83 and the like are very easy.
[0132] like Figure 9 As shown, the second bracket-side fixing portion 85c is provided at a position offset forward and downward from the plate portion 85a. The second bracket-side fixing portion 85c is formed into a plate shape having a hole 85c1 extending therethrough in the front-to-back direction. The fastening member 71 for securing the bracket 63L to the handlebar tube 21a passes through this hole 85c1.
[0133] The fixing structure of the bracket 63L using the fastening member 71 will be described.
[0134] like Figure 16 and Figure 17 As shown, the bracket 63L has a penetration portion 63s for the handle pipe 21a to penetrate. Figure 18As shown in FIG, a dividing portion 63x having a gap separated in the front-back direction is provided below the insertion portion 63s. Figure 17 As shown, the partition 63x is formed with a through hole 63y through which the fastening member 71 is inserted from the rear of the vehicle body. The inner side of the through hole 63y (equivalent to the rear side of the vehicle body) is formed as an internal threaded hole. By tightening the fastening member 71, the gap in the partition 63x can be reduced. By reducing the gap, the diameter of the through hole 63s is reduced, allowing the handle tube 21a to be clamped.
[0135] That is, the bracket 63L has a clamping and fixing structure for clamping the handlebar tube 21 a by fastening the fastening member 71 , and the bracket 63L is fixed to the handlebar tube 21 a by this clamping and fixing structure.
[0136] In this structure, if Figure 18 As shown, the bracket member 85 is fixed to the bracket 63L using the fastening member 71 for fixing the bracket 63L, so there is no need for a dedicated fastening member for fixing the bracket member 85. Therefore, the number of parts can be reduced and the fixing and removal operations of the bracket member 85 can be facilitated.
[0137] Next, the protrusion 85d of the bracket member 85 will be described.
[0138] like Figures 10 to 15 As shown, the protrusion 85d protrudes rearward from the second fixing portion 85c on the left and right sides. Figures 16 to 19 As shown, protrusions 85d are located on the left and right sides of bracket 63L. Therefore, when bracket member 85 attempts to rotate relative to bracket 63L in the direction of rotation of fastening member 71, at least one of the left and right protrusions 85d contacts bracket 63L, restricting rotation of bracket member 85. This prevents tilting of bracket member 85, facilitating securing of bracket member 85. Furthermore, unintended rotation of bracket member 85, and thus rotation of external device connection unit 81, can be prevented.
[0139] In this structure, if Figure 16 and Figure 5 As shown, the cover member 86 and the bracket member 85 are fastened from the vehicle width direction inner side by the fastening member 71. Thus, the rubber member 84 and the USB unit 83 can be clamped by the bracket member 85 and the cover member 86 from the vehicle body front-rear direction with a simple structure.
[0140] In addition, if Figure 16 、 Figure 17 as well as Figure 5As shown, the wire harness 90 exposed from the rubber member 84 is passed through the front side of the bracket member 85. Therefore, when handling the wiring of the wire harness 90, the bracket member 85 does not become an obstacle, and the wiring processing operation of the wire harness 90 becomes easy. Figure 5 As shown, the wire harness 90 is arranged below the handlebar 21 a using a gap between the bracket member 85 and the handlebar 21 a.
[0141] Here, if Figure 5 As shown, a thicker wire harness 100 extending from the left switch box 62L is arranged below the handle 21. The wire harness 90 extending from the external device connection unit 81 is routed using the space between the wire harness 100 and the handle tube 21a. This does not obstruct the routing of the wire harness 100, and the routing of the wire harness 90 is also facilitated. The wire harnesses 90 and 100 may also be referred to as wiring or cables.
[0142] As described above, the external device connection unit 81 includes a USB unit 83 having a USB port 82 and a USB connector 83b; a rubber member 84 covering at least a portion of the USB unit 83; a cover member 86 covering at least a portion of the rubber member 84; and a bracket member 85 mounted on the steering system 21s. The USB unit 83 is positioned behind the bracket member 85, with the USB port 82 facing downward and the USB connector 83b facing upward. Furthermore, the cover member 86 presses the USB unit 83 toward the bracket member 85 from the side of the USB unit 83 corresponding to the rear side of the vehicle body, via the rubber member 84. The rubber member 84 and USB unit 83 are sandwiched between the bracket member 85 and the cover member 86.
[0143] With the above configuration, the USB port 82 faces downwardly from the vehicle body, thereby preventing the USB port 82 from getting wet due to rain or other factors. Furthermore, by adjusting the shape of the bracket member 85 to suit the saddle-ride type vehicle 10, the external device connection unit 81 can be easily attached to the steering system 21s, even in small vehicles with significant layout restrictions. Therefore, even in small vehicles with significant layout restrictions, the external device connection unit 81 can be easily attached to the steering system 21s while preventing the external device connection unit 81 from getting wet.
[0144] Furthermore, the rubber member 84 can suppress vibrations during driving and the like transmitted to the USB unit 83 , and the cover member 86 can protect the USB unit 83 during steering or vehicle body operation.
[0145] In addition, in this embodiment, the cover part 86 presses the USB unit 83 toward the support part 85 side via the rubber part 84 from the side of the USB unit 83 corresponding to the rear side of the vehicle body, but the cover part 86 can also press the USB unit 83 toward the support part 85 side via the rubber part 84 from a side other than the rear side of the vehicle body.
[0146] That is, the cover member 86 presses the USB unit 83 toward the bracket member 85 from one side of the USB unit 83 via the rubber member 84, and the rubber member 84 and the USB unit 83 are sandwiched between the bracket member 85 and the cover member 86. For example, the "one side of the USB unit 83" mentioned above may include, in addition to the rear side of the vehicle body, any side of the USB unit 83 in the vehicle width direction, the front side of the vehicle body, and the like.
[0147] Furthermore, rubber member 84 includes a concave first covering portion 84a that covers main body 83a of USB unit 83, and an upwardly convex second covering portion 84b that covers USB connector 83b of USB unit 83 and a portion of wiring harness 90 connected to USB connector 83b. This configuration effectively prevents main body 83a of USB unit 83, USB connector 83b, and a portion of wiring harness 90 from being wetted by rain or the like, and also suppresses vibrations transmitted to these components during driving.
[0148] Furthermore, since the wire harness 90 exposed from the rubber member 84 passes through the vehicle body front side of the bracket member 85 , the bracket member 85 does not become an obstacle when routing the wire harness 90 , facilitating routing of the wire harness 90 .
[0149] The steering system 21s also includes a bracket 63L, which is one of the handlebar fixing members fixed to the handlebar 21 via a predetermined fastening member 71. The bracket member 85 includes a bracket-side second fixing portion 85c, which functions as a fixing portion that is fastened to the steering system 21s via the fastening member 71, and a protrusion 85d that restricts tilting of the bracket member 85 in the rotational direction of the fastening member 71. This configuration allows the fastening member 71, which is used to secure the handlebar fixing member, to also secure the bracket member 85. This reduces the number of components and facilitates securing the bracket member 85.
[0150] Furthermore, the cover member 86 and the bracket member 85 are fastened from the vehicle width direction inner side by the fastening member 73 . Therefore, the rubber member 84 and the USB unit 83 can be sandwiched between the bracket member 85 and the cover member 86 from the vehicle body front-rear direction with a simple structure.
[0151] Alternatively, the cover member 86 and the bracket member 85 may be fastened from the vehicle width direction outer side toward the vehicle width direction inner side by the fastening member 73. In this case, the rubber member 84 and the USB unit 83 can be clamped by the bracket member 85 and the cover member 86 from the vehicle body front-rear direction with a simple structure.
[0152] Furthermore, cover member 86 includes a covered portion 86a that covers first covering portion 84a, the concave portion of rubber member 84, and an exposed portion 86b that is recessed to expose second covering portion 84b, the upwardly convex portion of rubber member 84. This configuration allows covered portion 86a of cover member 86 to protect USB unit 83 during steering or vehicle manipulation, while exposed portion 86b helps to reduce the load on USB connector 83b and wiring harness 90.
[0153] [Other embodiments]
[0154] The above-mentioned embodiment merely shows one aspect of the present invention, and can be arbitrarily modified and applied without departing from the scope of the present invention.
[0155] While the above embodiment illustrates the bracket member 85 being fixed to the left bracket 63L, the bracket member 85 may be fixed to any handlebar-fixing member fixed to the handlebar 21. For example, it may be fixed to the front brake master cylinder 67R, or to a portion of the right bracket 63R other than the master cylinder 67R. In this case, the bracket member 85 may be fixed to the handlebar 21 by being fastened together with the fastening member used to fasten the master cylinder 67R and the right bracket 63R to the handlebar 21.
[0156] However, the present invention is not limited to the structure in which the bracket member 85 is fixed to the handle 21 by common fastening, and may also be a structure in which the bracket member 85 is fixed to the handle 21 by a dedicated fixing member. In addition, the fixing member is not limited to the fastening member, and a fixing member other than fastening may also be applied.
[0157] In the above embodiment, the saddle-ride type vehicle 10 is exemplified as including the power unit 12 as an internal combustion engine. However, an electric motor driven by electricity may be used as the power unit 12. In other words, the saddle-ride type vehicle 10 may be an electric saddle-ride type vehicle using an electric motor.
[0158] In addition, the example of installing the external device connection unit 81 on the left or right side of the steering system 21s is shown, but it is not limited to this. The installation position of the external device connection unit 81, the number of external device connection units 81 installed on a saddle-type vehicle, etc. can also be appropriately changed.
[0159] Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the USB unit 83 is illustrated as an example of the terminal unit. However, any terminal unit having a connection terminal for connecting to any external device may be applied instead of the USB unit 83 .
[0160] In addition, in the above embodiment, an automatic two-wheeled vehicle having a front wheel 13 and a rear wheel 15 is illustrated as the saddle-riding type vehicle 10, but it can also be a pedal-type automatic two-wheeled vehicle in which the rear wheel 15 and the power unit 12 are supported on the frame 11 so as to be swingable, or it can be a three-wheeled saddle-riding type vehicle having two front wheels 13 or rear wheels 15, or a saddle-riding type vehicle having four or more wheels.
