Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to blenders, and in particular, to an ice planing attachment for a blender. BACKGROUND

[0002] Blenders are widely used in households, for example, for cutting, chopping or grinding of food for preparation. Ice planing is one of the functions that users desire to have when purchasing a blender product, considering the unique taste brought by smoothies. However, due to the fact that ice cubes are relatively hard and heavy, conventional ice planers are usually used as standalone machines rather than as an attachment to a blender. Although some blenders provide an ice planing attachment, the structure is very complex, resulting in high cost. It is desirable to further simplify the structure of the ice planing device to further reduce the cost of the ice planing attachment. SUMMARY

[0003] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an ice planing attachment for a blender and a blender, aiming to further simplify the structure of the ice planing device.

[0027] Preferred embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. While preferred embodiments of the present disclosure are shown in the drawings, it is understood that the present disclosure can be embodied in various forms without being limited by the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that the present disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the present disclosure to those skilled in the art.

[0028] The term "comprising" and variations thereof as used herein are intended to cover a non-exclusive inclusion, such that a process, method, article, or apparatus that comprises a list of elements is not necessarily limited to those elements, but can include other elements not expressly listed or inherent to such process, method, article, or apparatus. Unless otherwise defined, all terms (including technical and scientific terms) used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this present disclosure belongs. It will be further understood that terms, such as those defined in commonly used dictionaries, should be interpreted as having a meaning that is consistent with their meaning in the context of the relevant art and will not be interpreted in an overly literal sense unless expressly so defined herein.

[0029] As mentioned earlier, ice is typically hard and heavy, making it unsuitable for direct use in traditional blenders for shaved ice. While some traditional blenders do have shaved ice functionality, the structure of the shaved ice attachment is very complex to create the unique textured structure of shaved ice, resulting in high costs for blenders with this function. Furthermore, the overall structure of the shaved ice machine limits its ability to shave only a limited amount of ice at a time, preventing the machine from continuously producing large quantities of shaved ice. To continuously obtain shaved ice, the user needs to frequently open the machine to retrieve it, which is very inconvenient for the user. According to this disclosure, a shaved ice attachment is provided that has a simple structure and allows the user to continuously obtain large quantities of shaved ice. The blender and shaved ice attachment according to embodiments of this disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0030] Figures 1-5 A mixer and an ice-shaving attachment according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure are shown. Figure 1 A schematic diagram of a mixer according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure is shown. Figure 2 This diagram illustrates the removal of the shaved ice attachment from the main unit of the blender. Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, the blender 10 includes a main unit 200 and an ice-shaving attachment 100 detachably mounted to the main unit 200. The main unit 200 may include a main unit housing 210 and a motor (not shown) housed within the main unit housing 210. The surface of the main unit housing 210 may be provided with a user interface such as buttons or knobs for easy operation. The ice-shaving attachment 100 can be used as an accessory to the blender 200. The blender 200 may include other functional attachments, such as a grinding attachment for grinding food, a cutting attachment for cutting food, etc. Users can selectively engage one of these attachments with the interface of the main unit housing 210 to use these attachments.

[0031] Figure 3 A cross-sectional schematic diagram along the longitudinal axis is shown for the shaved ice attachment according to a first embodiment of the present disclosure. Figures 1-3 As shown, the shaved ice attachment 100 includes a base 110 and a container 120. The base 110 is adapted to be mounted to the main unit 200 of the blender 10. The base 110 may include an interface adapted to engage with the main unit 200. In the illustrated embodiment, the base 110 may include a cylindrical mounting portion 128, and the top of the main unit 200 may be provided with a cylindrical interface. The mounting portion 128 can be engaged with the interface of the main unit 200 to mount the shaved ice attachment 100 to the main unit 200. The mounting portion 128 may be provided with locking features such as ribs and / or holes to ensure reliable engagement between the base 110 and the main unit 200. Forming the mounting portion 128 into a cylindrical shape has the advantage that the cylindrical internal region of the mounting portion 128 can accommodate transmission components such as those for driving the rotation of the blades. This is beneficial for making the overall device compact.

[0032] Container 120 can be mounted with base 110 and defines a cavity. Container 120 also includes a partition 130 laterally disposed in the cavity. The partition 130 is configured to divide container 120 into an upper ice inlet cavity 121 and a lower ice outlet cavity 123. Ice inlet cavity 121 is configured to receive ice cubes placed by the user from above, and ice outlet cavity 123 includes a laterally open ice discharge port 122 so that the user can collect cut ice cubes through the ice discharge port 122 outside the blender 10.

[0033] One or more blades 132 may be disposed within the container 120. The blades 132 may be positioned at the partition 130, and when the base 110 is mounted to the main unit 200 of the mixer 10, at least one blade 132 is connected to a motor within the main unit 200 to receive power from the motor. Thus, when the mixer is powered, the blades 132 are driven to rotate, thereby performing the shaved ice operation. According to this disclosure, shaved ice operation can be achieved with a simple structure.

[0034] In some embodiments, such as Figure 3 As shown, the ice outlet cavity 123 also includes an inclined surface 126 extending at an angle beyond the ice outlet cavity 123 to facilitate the collection of cut ice blocks towards the ice discharge port 122 via the inclined surface 126. By providing the inclined surface 126, automatic discharge of ice shavings can be achieved, preventing ice shavings from accumulating in the ice outlet cavity 123.

[0035] In some embodiments, such as Figure 3 As shown, the top side of the ice inlet 121 can be configured as an opening, allowing the user to easily add ice cubes into the container 120. In some embodiments, additionally or alternatively, the opening of the container 120 can be covered by a lid 150. This prevents ice shards from splashing out through the top opening of the container 120 during shaved ice.

[0036] In some embodiments, such as Figure 3 As shown, the cutter 132 can be fixed to the partition 130 and configured to rotate about a vertical axis. One or more slots 134 may be provided on the partition 130. Further reference... Figure 4 ,exist Figure 4 In the illustrated embodiment, the partition 130 may include, for example, two slits 134 extending through the partition 130 in the direction of the vertical axis. A cutter 132 is fixed to the partition 130 at the slits 134. As the cutter 132 rotates, the cut ice cubes can pass through the slits 134 and enter the ice outlet 123. In some embodiments, the cutter 132 may extend upwards at an angle, thereby scraping the bottom surface of the ice cubes as it rotates about the vertical axis. It is worth noting that the number of cutters and slits illustrated is merely exemplary.

[0037] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 5 The ice shaving accessory 100 further comprises a pusher 140 inserted into the container 120 through the opening. The bottom end of the pusher 140 comprises a protrusion pattern 142 adapted to secure ice cubes when the cutter 132 rotates. During the ice shaving operation, the user can press the pusher 140 to ensure that the ice cubes are properly secured. In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 5 The protrusion pattern 142 can be formed in the form of a plurality of raised arrangements. This has the benefit of reliably securing ice cubes, whether they are large or small, by this pattern. It should be appreciated that this is merely exemplary, and the protrusion pattern 142 can be formed in any other suitable form.

[0038] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 3 The outer profile of the pusher 140 can match the profile of the top portion of the container 120. The pusher 140 can be formed in a shape that matches the lid 150. In this way, it can be convenient for the user to conveniently press the pusher 140. It should be appreciated that the illustrated embodiment is merely exemplary, and in some other embodiments, the lid 150 can be formed as a single component with the pusher 140.

[0039] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 3 The container 120 further comprises a main shaft 135 extending in the vertical direction. The main shaft 135 is configured to rotate about a vertical axis to drive the cutter 132 to rotate. The ice shaving accessory 100 can further comprise a torque amplification mechanism 160 configured to convert a first torque output from the motor into a second torque greater than the first torque, the output of the torque amplification mechanism 160 being coupled to the main shaft 135. The main shaft 135 can be connected to the output of the torque amplification mechanism 160, for example, via a coupling. The torque amplification mechanism 160 can be coupled to the motor, for example, via a coupling, when the ice shaving accessory 100 is installed with the host machine 200. The torque transmitted to the main shaft 135 can be amplified by the torque amplification mechanism 160, which has the benefit of facilitating the ice shaving operation. In some embodiments, the torque amplification mechanism 160 can be disposed adjacent to the cylindrical mounting portion 128. In some embodiments, the torque amplification mechanism 160 is implemented as a planetary gear reducer. It should be appreciated that the illustrated embodiment is merely exemplary, and the torque amplification mechanism 160 can be implemented as other forms of reducers.

[0040] Figures 6-8 A blender and an ice shaving accessory according to a second embodiment of the present disclosure are shown. Figures 6-8 The blender and the ice shaving accessory described above can be used in conjunction with Figures 1-5The shown similarities, the difference mainly lies in that the cutter of the ice shaving accessory is configured in the form of a rolling cutter to rotate around a horizontal axis, which is particularly suitable for shaving ice blocks into larger ice shavings. In view of the similarities of the two embodiments, the differences are highlighted.

[0041] As shown in Figure 6 and Figure 7 , the ice shaving accessory 100 can be installed with the host 200 instead of the ice shaving accessory 100 shown in Figure 2 . As shown in Figure 6 and Figure 7 , the ice shaving accessory 100 includes a base 110 and a container 120. The base 110 is adapted to be installed to the host 200 of the blender 10. For example, the base 110 can include a cylindrical mounting portion 128, and the top of the host 200 can be provided with a cylindrical interface. The mounting portion 128 can be engaged with the interface of the host 200 to install the ice shaving accessory 100 to the host 200.

[0042] The container 120 can be installed with the base 110 and defines a cavity. The container 120 further includes a partition 130 disposed transversely in the cavity. The partition 130 is configured to separate the container 120 into an ice-in cavity 121 on the upper side and an ice-out cavity 123 on the lower side. The ice-in cavity 121 is configured to receive ice blocks placed by a user from the upper side, and the ice-out cavity 123 includes an ice-out opening 122 that is laterally open to enable the user to collect the cut ice blocks through the ice-out opening 122 outside the blender 10.

[0043] In the embodiment shown in Figure 6 and Figure 7 , the container 120 can be provided with one or more cutters 132a, 132b. The cutters 132a, 132b are implemented in the form of a rolling cutter and are configured to rotate around a horizontal axis. The cutters 132a, 132b can be directly installed to a main shaft 135 that rotates around the horizontal axis and rotate together with the rotation of the main shaft 135.

[0044] Further referring to Figure 8 , the partition 130 can include at least one slit 134 that penetrates through the partition 130 in the direction of the vertical axis. The cutters 132 are rotatably installed at the at least one slit 134 relative to the partition 130, so that the cut ice blocks pass through the slit 134 to enter the ice-out cavity 123 when the cutters 132 rotate. Such a rolling cutter cutting manner can facilitate the formation of larger ice shavings.

[0045] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 7 and Figure 8As shown, the cutter can include a plurality of blades 132a, 132b extending laterally protrudingly from the spindle 135. At least two of the plurality of blades 132a, 132b are arranged at different circumferential angles with respect to the spindle 135. This has the benefit of creating different ice flower textures with different air permeability. In some embodiments, the blades 132a, 132b can have the same or different sizes.

[0046] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1A, the base 110 can include a torque amplification mechanism 160. The torque amplification mechanism 160 can be configured to amplify the torque of the ice block 120 and to couple the amplified torque to the spindle 135. Figure 7 and Figure 8 As shown, the partition 130 can include a plurality of teeth 138 disposed at the gap 134 and extending laterally protrudingly, and at least one of the plurality of blades is arranged between at least one pair of adjacent teeth 138 of the plurality of teeth. By providing the plurality of teeth, the movement of the ice block can be further guided by the teeth, which facilitates the cutting.

[0047] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1A, the base 110 can include a torque amplification mechanism 160. The torque amplification mechanism 160 can be configured to amplify the torque of the ice block 120 and to couple the amplified torque to the spindle 135. Figure 7 and Figure 8 As shown, the base 110 can include a transmission system in addition to the torque amplification mechanism 160, through which the movement of the output shaft of the torque amplification mechanism 160 about the vertical axis can be converted into the movement of the spindle 135 about the horizontal axis.

[0048] The transmission system can be implemented in various ways as long as the rotational movement of the spindle 135 about the horizontal axis can be achieved. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1A, the transmission system can include a transmission shaft 162, a second torque amplification mechanism 164, and a reversing mechanism 166. The second torque amplification mechanism 164 is configured to further amplify the output torque of the torque amplification mechanism 160 and to couple the output of the torque amplification mechanism 160 to the transmission shaft 162. Considering the larger load torque faced by the cutter in the way of a hob, the processing performance of the machine can be further enhanced by amplifying the torque. With this ice planing method, the ice block can be guided to the cutter by the gravity of the ice block itself, and the ice planing is achieved by the large torque of the cutter. Compared with the first embodiment, the operation of the user pushing the ice block can be avoided. Figure 7 and Figure 8 In some embodiments, the reversing mechanism 166 is configured to couple the transmission shaft 162 to the spindle 135 and is configured to convert the movement of the transmission shaft 162 about the vertical axis into the movement of the spindle 135 about the horizontal axis. The reversing mechanism can be implemented in various ways. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1A, the reversing mechanism 166 is implemented in the form of a turbine-worm. It should be understood that this is merely exemplary, and in other embodiments, the reversing mechanism 166 can be implemented in the form of a gear transmission or any other appropriate transmission form.

[0049] In some embodiments, the reversing mechanism 166 is configured to couple the transmission shaft 162 to the spindle 135 and is configured to convert the movement of the transmission shaft 162 about the vertical axis into the movement of the spindle 135 about the horizontal axis.

[0050] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1 1, in order to provide space for the transmission system, the base 1 10 can be implemented in a form that is arranged at least partially alongside the container 120 in the vertical direction. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 12, the container 120 can also include a barrel that at least partially protrudes, which can be formed as an ice cube delivery channel. The top side of the barrel can be provided with an opening through which ice cubes are placed. The opening can be covered by a cover 150 to place the splashes of ice shavings during ice planing.
