Abstract
According to the present invention waste 7 is dried by feeding it into a conveyor 4 comprising several floor sections 34, 44, 46 and conveying it by a floor pushing mechanism, in which only a part of the floor sections 34, 44, 46 moves at a time in a direction of movement 8 or an opposite direction 61. The energy for drying the waste 7 is supplied by hot air 11 through openings 38 in the floor sections 34, 44, 46 from a pressure chamber 3 through the floor 4 into the waste 7 and through the waste 7.
