Description

[0001] The invention relates to an adjustable covering device for a surface that is to be selectively exposed or covered, such as a window surface, with two side rails that are to be fixed parallel to one another and at a mutual distance to opposite edge regions of the surface, in particular by gluing or clamping, and a movement rail that is arranged transversely to the side rails and to which a curtain is attached.

[0002] From DE 20 2013 103 210 U1 a pleated blind is known in which horizontal movement rails are held on lateral guide rails in such a way that during a vertical movement holding forces which are predetermined by the design must be overcome.

[0003] The object of the invention is to improve such a cover device with regard to simple and cost-effective assembly and also to improve the function with regard to a reduced tendency of the movement rail to tilt undesirably during an adjustment operation.

[0004] This object is achieved according to the invention by a covering device according to claim 1.

[0005] The guide devices thus interact with the guide rails not only in a form-fitting manner, but also in an adjustable force-fitting manner. Both guide devices can be mounted on the movement rail for longitudinal movement, or one guide device can be fixed to the movement rail and the other can be mounted on it for longitudinal movement.

[0006] The edge areas of the surface to be covered, to which the side rails are glued, can be in the same plane as the surface and directly adjacent to it, or the edge areas can have a height difference with respect to the surface, for example in the form of profiles, frame parts or similar that border the surface.

[0007] It can be provided that the side rail is designed as an extruded profile with a hollow profile-shaped rail body and a guide rail extending therefrom, with a guide region, the opposite and in particular parallel outer sides of which form the first guide surface and the second guide surface, and at the free end of which the limiting profile is arranged.

[0008] Preferably, the limiting profile has a limiting surface arranged perpendicular to the first guide surface, between which limiting surface and an outer surface of the rail body extending in the longitudinal direction of the rail, the first guide element is received with play transverse to the longitudinal direction of the rail. The play can be at least 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm, or 2 mm. The play is sufficiently large to allow the movement rail, starting from a normal position perpendicular to the side rails, to be inclined by a certain angle, parallel to the surface, for example due to an adjustment confirmation outside the center of the movement rail. The angle can be a maximum of 5°, 10°, 15°, or 20° without one of the guide devices becoming detached from a guide rail.

[0009] The rail body can have a flat adhesive surface running in the longitudinal direction of the rail for fastening to the edge region of the surface.

[0010] Each guide device expediently has a displaceable clamping part for adjusting the contact pressure, which rests against one of the guide elements with a first wedge surface. Furthermore, it can be provided that the respective guide element is connected to a first locking means, and the clamping part is connected to a second locking means, wherein the first locking means can be adjusted to engage the second locking means in several locking stages and can preferably be released.

[0011] Each guide device can comprise a first guide part on which the guide elements and the first locking means are held, and the clamping part which can be locked to the first guide part and on which the second locking means is held.

[0012] Conveniently, the first guide part can be locked to the second guide part by means of the first and second locking means.

[0013] The movement rail can be designed as an extruded profile on which a guide channel is formed, extending in a longitudinal direction of the movement rail and open to the outside, for fixedly or slidably receiving the guide devices or guide parts. The second guide part is adjustable relative to the first guide part to adjust the contact force in the longitudinal direction of the movement rail.

[0014] Furthermore, it can be provided that a retaining leg of a mounting bracket is accommodated at the end of a side rail in a profile channel of the rail body. In this case, it is possible for a fastening leg of the mounting bracket, connected to the retaining leg and angled from it, to be provided with a tensioning device for one or more tensioning cords of a curtain. Mounting brackets and tensioning devices are expediently attached to both ends of the side rails.

[0015] Parallel to the movement rail, which can be a lower movement rail, a further movement rail can be provided, which can be an upper movement rail and which can be constructed analogously to or identically to the movement rail and is adjustable relative to the movement rail, wherein a curtain, in particular a pleated curtain, can be attached between the movement rails.

[0016] If a tensioning device is arranged at each end of the side rails, a tensioning cord can be held taut between the tensioning devices of each side rail, which is guided through openings in the lateral edge areas of a curtain running parallel to the side rails. The tensioning cords can be guided through the movement rail in a conventional manner in a C- or Z-shape to hold it in a position largely perpendicular to the side rails and to limit any inclination, in particular to the aforementioned maximum angle of 5°, 10°, 15°, or 20°.

[0017] The invention is explained below using an embodiment, with reference to a drawing in which Fig. 1 shows an adjustable cover device according to the invention obliquely from the front, Fig. 2 the covering device according to Fig. 1 shows diagonally from behind, Fig. 3 a view similar Fig. 1 with the movement rails moved together, Fig. 4 a view similar Fig. 2 with the movement rails moved together, Fig. 5 shows an exploded enlarged view of a side rail and an end section of the movement rail obliquely from the rear, Fig. 6 a view similar Fig. 5 in the assembled state, Fig. 7 shows a view of a side rail obliquely from behind, Fig. 7a a cross-sectional view of the side rail according to Fig. 7 shows. Fig. 8 shows a perspective view of a first guide part of a guide device of the movement rail, Fig. 9 a view of the first guide part according to Fig. 8 shows from a different direction, Fig. 10 the first guide part after Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 shows diagonally from behind, Fig. 11 shows a plan view of the first guide part, Fig. 12 shows a second guide part of the guide device in perspective from a first direction, Fig. 13 the second guide part after Fig. 11 from an opposite direction, Fig. 14 shows an assembly aid in perspective from a first direction, and Fig. 15 the assembly aid according to Fig. 13 shows from an opposite direction.

[0018] Fig. Figure 1 shows an adjustable covering device 1 according to the invention in the form of a pleated or pleated blind for selectively shading or uncovering a window area (not shown), comprising a left side rail 2, a right side rail 4, a lower movement rail 6, an upper movement rail 8, and a curtain 10 in the form of a pleated or pleated blind held by and between the movement rails 6, 8. The movement rails 6, 8 are held on the side rails 2, 4 in a manner to be explained below and are guided in a height-adjustable manner. The curtain 10 is held at its lower edge to the lower movement rail 6 and at its upper edge to the upper movement rail 8, while lateral edges of the curtain 10, running parallel to the side rails 2, 4, and its center are interspersed with tension cords 12, which prevent or limit undesired sagging of the curtain 10, for example in the event of a draft or when the window is tilted, and ensure that the curtain is neatly folded into a package when the movement rails are retracted, without deflecting forwards or backwards. The movement rails 6, 8 are essentially guided only by the side rails 2, 4 and by the tension cords 12 only to the extent that these prevent the movement rails from undesirably tilting too far when they are actuated off-center (actuating force in the area of the guide devices in the longitudinal direction of the side rails).

[0019] The tensioning cords 12 are fixed to tensioning devices 14, which in turn are attached to the side rails 2, 4 via mounting brackets 16. Fig. 1 shows only two upper and one lower clamping device 14, while a lower clamping device is hidden by the lower movement rail 6.

[0020] Fig. 2 shows the cover device 1 after Fig. 1 from the rear side, which is the side with which the covering device is attached to the surface to be covered or uncovered, in this case a glass surface of a window. For this purpose, the two side rails 2, 4 have a flat adhesive surface 18 on their rear side. The adhesive surfaces 18 of the side rails 2, 4 lie in one plane when attached and are detachably or permanently connected to the surface or glass pane with a suitable adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.

[0021] Fig. Figure 2 further shows that each movement rail 6, 8 is guided on guide rails 24 of the side rails 2, 4 by two guide devices 22 held at their ends, wherein the guide rails 24 are formed integrally with the side rails 2, 4. The side rails 2, 4 are identical in design but arranged in a mirror image of one another, so that the guide rails 24 face one another. The guide devices 22 connected to the left side rail 2 are designed in a mirror image of the guide devices 22 connected to the right side rail 4.

[0022] Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 show the covering device 1 in a position in which the movement rails 6, 8 are moved together as far as possible and the curtain 10 is arranged in tight folds between the movement rails. All four tensioning devices 14 with the tensioning cords 12 stretched between them can be seen. End caps 26 with recesses 28 are inserted into the lateral end sections of the movement rails 6, 8, wherein the tensioning devices 14 are accommodated in the recesses 28 when the movement rails 6, 8 are moved fully upwards or downwards, which is Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 is shown.

[0023] Fig. 5 shows an upper corner region of the covering device 1 in an enlarged view, showing an upper end of the left side rail 2, a tensioning device 14 held thereon, and a left end section of the upper movement rail 8. The side rail 2 consists of a rail body 30, which is designed as a hollow profile with a profile channel 32 and has the adhesive surface 18 on its rear side, and the guide rail 24 extending from the rail body 30. Opposite the guide rail 24, a covering leg 34 is formed, which has the function of covering any existing light gap when the side rail is attached and creating a free space for a window seal located there. The side rails 2, 4 are preferably manufactured as extruded profiles made of light metal or plastic.

[0024] A retaining leg 16a of the mounting bracket 16 is inserted into the profile channel 32 and clamped in place with no play by means of a tension or leaf spring (not shown). A fastening leg 16b of the mounting bracket 16, angled from the retaining leg, projects forward at approximately 90° to a rail longitudinal direction 36 of the side rail 2 and supports the tensioning device 14. The rail body 30, the adhesive surface 18, the covering leg 34, and the guide rail 24 run parallel to the rail longitudinal direction 36 and thus, in the attached state, parallel to or in the plane of the surface to be exposed or covered by the covering device.

[0025] Fig. 5 shows in the left part the cross-sectional profile of the movement rail 8, which is substantially U-shaped, wherein the movement rail 8 has at its rear end facing the surface and the side rails 2, 4 a guide channel 40 which is open to the rear and which is formed by a rear wall 42 and an upper profile projection 44 which is L-shaped in cross section and a lower profile projection 46 which is L-shaped in cross section and has an overall undercut shape.

[0026] In the guide channel 40, which extends in a longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail 8 and in the assembled state perpendicular to the rail longitudinal direction 36 of the side rails 2, 4, a first guide part 50 and a second guide part 52, which forms a clamping part, are accommodated in a longitudinally displaceable manner and together form a guide device 22. The first guide part 50 can be snapped onto the guide rail 24 of the side rail 2 in a manner to be explained, and the second guide part 52 can be pushed onto the first guide part 50 in a cap-like manner and can thus be snapped into place, whereby Fig. 6 shows the locked state of the first guide part 50 on the guide rail 24 and the pushed-on state of the second guide part 52. In this state, the movement rail 8 is vertically displaceable, while it is not rotatable about its longitudinal axis and, viewed in its longitudinal direction 38, has a slight play relative to the guide rail 24 or transversely to the longitudinal direction 36 of the side rail 2, 4.

[0027] Fig. Figure 7 shows an enlarged view of a side rail, in this case the left side rail 2, showing the essentially rectangular cross-section of the rail body 30, the guide rail 24, and the cover leg 34. A double-sided adhesive tape 20 is applied to the adhesive surface 18, the outwardly facing, visible surface 20a of which is to be bonded to an edge region of the surface to be exposed or covered.

[0028] The profile channel 32 of the rail body 30 has a first cross-sectional area 32a for receiving the holding leg 16a and an adjacent second cross-sectional area 32b for receiving the mentioned tension spring, in particular in the form of a pre-bent leaf spring.

[0029] The guide rail 24 has a rearward-facing first guide surface 60 and a forward-facing second guide surface 62 arranged parallel thereto, the mutual spacing of which corresponds to a thickness of the guide rail 24 in the region of the guide surfaces. Adjacent to the first guide surface 60, at a free end of the guide rail 24 facing away from the rail body 30, a rearward-facing limiting profile 64 is formed. The limiting profile 64 has a limiting surface 66 extending substantially perpendicular to the first guide surface 60, which is adjoined by a tapered wedge or locking surface 68 extending at an angle of inclination away from the rail body 30. Between an outer surface 30a of the rail body 30 and the limiting surface 66 of the limiting profile 64, the first guide surface 60 has a clear width of 70, viewed transversely to the longitudinal direction 36 of the rail.

[0030] Fig. 8 to 11 show different views of the first guide part 50. The first guide part 50 has a fastening area 72, a locking area 74 and a guide area 76. The fastening area 72 has essentially the shape of a rectangular plate with a rounded corner area and is intended for insertion into the guide channel 40. The fastening area 72 can be inserted into the guide channel in a first orientation and then rotated by a Fig. 8 and Fig. 11, the axis of rotation 50a can be rotated by 90°, so that outer edges of the plate-shaped fastening area 72 engage behind the profile projections 44, 46 of the guide channel 40 and are held firmly by them, so that the first guide part 50 is held displaceably on the movement rail 6 or 8 in the longitudinal direction 38 and in the direction indicated by the arrow 50b, as in Fig. 5 is shown.

[0031] In the assembled state, a sliding surface 82a ( Fig. 11) on the first guide surface 60 of the guide rail 24, while a stop surface 66a is formed at the same angle as the limiting surface 66 and limits the lateral play of the first guide element 78 in the guide rail 24. In the position of the first guide part 50 mounted on the movement rail, the guide region 76 of the first guide part projects rearwardly from the movement rail and can be brought into engagement with the guide rail 24 of a side rail 2, 4. The guide region 76 has a first guide element 78 for interaction with the guide rail 24, which comprises a holding leg 80 and a profile projection 82 formed on the holding leg 80.A width 84 of the profile projection 82, in the state of the first guide part 50 fixed to the movement rail, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the movement rail, is slightly smaller than the clear width 70 of the first guide surface 60, which is formed on the guide rail 24, between the boundary surface 66 and the outer surface 30a, so that the profile projection 82 in the assembled state, when the first guide part 50 is held on the guide rail 24, is guided displaceably in the longitudinal direction of the side rail 2 or 4, sliding on the first guide surface 60, and has the aforementioned slight play transversely to the longitudinal direction 36 of the rail.

[0032] The holding leg 80 of the profile projection 82 is held on a base body 51 of the first guide part 50 and, due to its elasticity, allows a slight yielding of the profile projection 82 perpendicular to the first guide surface 60 or in the Fig. 9. A slight flexibility of the profile projection 82 is important because the profile projection 82 is pressed against the first guide surface 60 by a second guide element 90, which in turn bears against the second guide surface 62 with a sliding surface 92 formed thereon. The guide surfaces 60, 62 are thus enclosed by the guide elements 78, 90 in a pincer-like manner.

[0033] The second guide element 90 is provided on a side opposite the sliding surface 92 with a first wedge surface 94, which, in the assembled state of the first guide part 50, forms a wedge angle 96 with the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail 6 or 8. In the illustrated embodiment, two second guide elements 90 with sliding surfaces 92 and first wedge surfaces 94 are provided in order to achieve a uniform contact pressure. The second guide element(s) 90, like the holding leg 80 of the profile projection 82, are resiliently connected to the base body 51 of the first guide part 50 in order to enable a slight movement of the sliding surface 92 in the direction of the profile projection 82 of the first guide element 78 when a corresponding force is applied via the wedge surface 94.

[0034] The locking area 74 of the first guide part 50 comprises as a first locking means one or according to Fig. 8, Fig. 9, two opposing first locking teeth 74a, which, in the assembled state, extend in the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail. The or each first locking tooth comprises at least one locking tooth for interacting with the second guide part 52.

[0035] To apply the above-mentioned force to the first wedge surface 94 and the second guide element 90, the second guide part 52 or clamping part is used, which is Fig. 12 and Fig. 13 is shown in detail. How Fig. 5 shows, the second guide part 52, like the first guide part 50, can be received in the guide channel 40, for which purpose two opposing locking hooks 98 are provided, the mutual spacing of which approximately corresponds to the mutual spacing of the upper and lower profile projections 44, 46 of the guide channel 40 and which are held resiliently on the second guide part 52, so that after locking into the guide channel 40, the latter is still displaceable in the longitudinal direction 38 of the guide channel 40, while the first guide part 50 is clamped stationary in the guide channel 40.

[0036] The second guide part 52 comprises, as a second locking means, one or two opposing second locking toothings 100, which, in the assembled state, extend in the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail. The or each second locking toothing 100 comprises at least one locking tooth for interacting with the first locking toothing 74a of the first guide part 50. In the illustrated embodiment, two first and two second locking toothings 74a, 100 are provided. The second guide part 52 can be locked to the first guide part 50 by means of the two locking toothings, and at the same time, in the manner explained below, an increasing contact force of the guide elements 78, 90 against the guide surfaces 60, 62 can be achieved by increasingly locking onto the first guide part 50.

[0037] One or two second wedge surfaces 102 are formed on the second guide part 52, which, when the second guide part 52 is mounted on the movement rail, form a wedge angle 104 with the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail and are arranged opposite the first wedge surface or the first wedge surfaces 94 of the second guide element 90 of the first guide part 50. In the illustrated embodiment, two second wedge surfaces 102 are provided in order to be able to apply an adjustable contact force to the two first wedge surfaces 96 of the second guide elements 90 of the second guide part 52, acting against the guide surfaces 60, 62. The wedge angles 96, 104 are preferably of the same size.

[0038] In the assembled state of the first and second guide parts 50, 52 on a movement rail 6 or 8 according to Fig. 6, the second guide part 52, which is generally cap-shaped, can be latched onto the first latching teeth 74a of the first guide part 50 by displacement in the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail with the second latching teeth 100 to a greater or lesser extent, wherein for orientation purposes regarding the latching state and thus regarding the contact pressure, a first marking 106 in the form of a line or arrow arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction 38 is provided on the first guide part 50 and a second marking 108 in the form of a line or arrow arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail is provided on the second guide part 52.

[0039] The further the second guide part 52 is snapped onto the first guide part 50 and displaced relative thereto, the further the sliding surface 92 of the second guide element 90 is displaced in the direction of the sliding surface 82a of the first guide element 78 due to the interaction between the second wedge surface 102 of the second guide part 52 and the first wedge surface 94 of the second guide element 90 of the first guide part 50, and the more strongly the guide elements 78, 90 are pressed against the guide surfaces 60, 62, and the more firmly the movement rail 6 or 8 is held force-fittingly on the side rails 2, 4 and opposes a vertical displacement with an even greater friction or sliding resistance, which can be adapted to the weight of the curtain 10 and the movement rails 6, 8.

[0040] For easy locking of the first guide part 50 onto the guide rail 24 and for setting a suitable locking state, the first guide part 50 has an opening 109 and the second guide part 52 has a recess 110 for the engagement of an assembly aid 114, which in Fig. 14 and Fig. 15. The assembly aid 114 essentially has a projecting pin 116 for engaging in the opening 109 of the first or the recess 110 of the second guide part, as well as a manually graspable handle 118 and a locking projection 120, with which the assembly aid can be placed in a properly positioned manner on the movement rail 6 or 8, which Fig. 5. In the attached state, the mounting aid 114 rests with a support surface 122 on an upper side of the movement rail, while the pin 116 projects downward and can be engaged with the opening 109 or recess 110. By moving the handle 118 in the longitudinal direction 38 of the movement rail, the first or second guide part can be displaced longitudinally in the guide channel 40 and locked into place, or the locked state can be changed relative to the first guide part.

[0041] To keep the movement rails 6, 8 in their upper or lower end positions ( Fig. 1, Fig.2), it can be provided that a magnet or a ferromagnetic metal part is arranged in each of the clamping devices 14, and that a ferromagnetic metal part or a magnet is arranged in each of the recesses 28 of the end caps 26, so that the movement rails are held in place by magnetic force when they reach their end position. Another solution consists in mechanically locking the movement rails in the end positions, for example by arranging a locking element in the area of the end sections of the movement rails, which interacts with a corresponding locking means in an end area of the side rails when the movement rails have reached their upper or lower end position.

[0042] The adjustable cover device according to the invention offers numerous advantages for the user. First, a fixed system is achieved, which is mounted by gluing without drilling. The system is fully balanced and features minimal profile deflection. Furthermore, the holding force of the movement rails on the side rails is adjustable. Furthermore, a novel and sleek design is achieved due to the elimination of operating handles.

[0043] Eliminating handles also benefits the manufacturer, as neither handles nor handle adapters, handle hole screws, handle hole punching, nor handle assembly processes are required. Due to the different cord path compared to similar systems, no springs are required, eliminating any spring assembly. This makes the threading machine faster and more reliable.

[0044] Sliding the movement rails on is quicker and easier, with no threading required in the end cap. The end caps can be installed without tools, as they simply snap into place.
