Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Area of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a display device for an injection molding machine. Related technology

[0002] Traditionally, an injection molding machine is a machine tool configured to inject and shape materials such as resin. Before operating the injection molding machine, a value relating to its operation is preset. The injection molding machine then operates according to this preset value.

[0003] There are many types of screen content to be displayed on the display device for the injection molding machine. For example, there are fifty types of screen content to be displayed on the display device for the injection molding machine. It is very time-consuming to find and select the next screen content to be displayed among these. Therefore, a control device for an injection molding machine is proposed that allows an operator to select a screen content to be displayed on the display device for the injection molding machine with less operator effort (see, for example, WO 2014 / 192 049 A1).

[0004] EP 3 546 182 B1 describes a display device used for operating an injection molding machine that injects a molding material into a molding unit. The display device comprises a display unit that shows a plurality of operating objects, each representing every operation to be performed in a molding process of the injection molding machine. The display device further comprises an input unit for entering a selection and arrangement of the operating objects, so that an operator can create an arrangement of the operating objects to cause the injection molding machine to perform a series of operations. The display device further comprises a control unit that determines the operating object arranged by the operator, wherein the control unit provides the operator with suggestions to assist in arranging the operating objects, based on at least one piece of information from information about a relationship to an already arranged operating object and previously entered information about the mold unit.

[0005] US 8,024,660B1 describes a method and device for variable help content and termination interventions based on user behavior in computer applications. A pattern recognition and intervention mechanism is provided that collects usage data, and potentially other application data, from a large number of users and analyzes the usage data to determine usage patterns. The collected data and identified usage patterns can then be used by the pattern recognition and intervention mechanism to search for and detect deviations from expected behavior and / or patterns of abnormal behavior. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The control device disclosed in WO 2014 / 192 049 A1 comprises several display content selection buttons for selecting display content. These multiple display content selection buttons are configured to be displayed on a single display element. An operator can individually adjust the display content selection button to display a desired content on the display element.

[0007] However, with the control device disclosed in WO 2014 / 192 049 A1, an operator must spend time selecting a display content to individually adjust the display content selection button. Furthermore, the operator must spend time repeating the individual adjustment if the display content selection button needs to be updated. Therefore, it is preferable that a screen content intended as a display candidate can be shown without placing a burden on the operator.

[0008] The present invention aims to provide a display device for an injection molding machine that is suitable for displaying screen content intended as a display candidate without placing any burden on the operator. The invention is defined by the independent claim, while preferred embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims. [0010] The following is made with reference to Fig. 1 to Fig. Section 8 describes a display device 1 for an injection molding machine 200 according to the respective embodiments of the present invention. First, overviews of the injection molding machine 200 and the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 are described.

[0011] The injection molding machine 200 is configured to produce products (molded parts) by injecting, for example, molten resin at a high temperature into a mold and subsequently cooling the resin. When the products are manufactured by the injection molding machine 200, the machine is operated according to a preset value (a set value), thus enabling the production of the products under preferred conditions. The set value is determined, for example, by the value and setting entered into the injection molding machine 20 by an operator M controlling the machine.

[0012] In an example, the value and the designation are entered into the injection molding machine 200 using the display device 1 connected to the injection molding machine 200. More precisely, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 displays several screen contents by switching between them and accepts the input of the value and the designation by the operator M. The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 shows the intended display candidates as the next screen content to switch between. The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 prompts the operator M to select the next screen content from among the display candidates, thereby switching the screen content from the currently displayed screen content to the selected screen content. In each of the following embodiments, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 is configured to display, for example, at least one screen content highly relevant to the displayed screen content from among generally 50 or more types of screen content as display candidates. [First embodiment]

[0013] The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the first embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to Fig. 1 to Fig. 4 described. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 is arranged according to the present embodiment such that it is connected to the injection molding machine 200. The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 comprises a display element 100, which is suitable for displaying a predefined screen content and for displaying a candidate for the next screen content to which a switch is to be made. As shown in Figure 1, the display device 1 is arranged in such a way that it is connected to the injection molding machine 200. Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 comprises an input element 11, an image storage element 12, an operating information retrieval element 13, an adjustment element 14, an operating information storage element 15, a summing element 16, a display candidate determination element 17 and a display control element 18.

[0014] The display element 100 is an image output device, such as a monitor. The display element 100 is configured to display different types of screen content relating to the injection molding machine 200. For example, the display element 100 shows the screen content for entering a set value into the injection molding machine 200. The display element 100 also shows, for example, the screen content that indicates the operating state of the injection molding machine 200. In the present embodiment, the display element 100 comprises three screens. In one example, the display element 100 comprises two screens 101 and 102, which display the operating state and the like, and one screen 103, which displays the candidate display.

[0015] In one example, the input element 11 is an input device such as a keyboard, a mouse, or a touch sensor, which is integrally formed with the display element 100. The input element 11 accepts the input of a set value and the input of a setting specification by the operator M, who operates the injection molding machine 200.

[0016] The image storage element 12 is a secondary storage medium, such as a hard drive. Information about several screen contents to be displayed on the display element 100 is stored in the image storage element 12. For example, the image storage element 12 contains information about the several screen contents for controlling the operation of the injection molding machine 200 or for confirming its status.

[0017] The operational information retrieval element 13 is implemented, for example, by the operation of a CPU (central processing unit). Operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the operational information related to a predefined screen content displayed. For example, operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the number of repetitions of input operations related to the displayed screen content. In another example, operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the number of repetitions of input operations related to a predefined screen content per specified time period (the average number of repetitions of the operations per unit of time). Finally, operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the display duration of a predefined screen content as operational information. In one example, the operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the number of repetitions of the display of a given screen content within a given period of time as operational information.

[0018] The setting element 14 is implemented, for example, by the operation of the CPU. The setting element 14 is connected to the input element 11. The setting element 14 is also connected to the injection molding machine 200. The setting element 14 sets the value and the parameter that were entered into the injection molding machine 200 via the input element 11.

[0019] The operational information storage element 15 is a secondary storage medium, such as a hard drive. The operational information retrieved by the operational information retrieval element 13 is stored in the operational information storage element 15.

[0020] The summing element 16 is implemented, for example, by the operation of the CPU. The summing element 16 sums the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content according to the retrieved operating information. In one example, the summing element 16 sums the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content based on at least one of the following: the number of repetitions of the input operations associated with the displayed screen content; the number of repetitions of the input operations associated with the displayed screen content per specified time period; the display duration of the predefined screen content; or the number of repetitions of the display of the predefined screen content within a specified time period. The summing element 16 sums the processes executed during the display of the predefined screen content contained in the retrieved operating information using a point-based evaluation. Using this point-based evaluation, the summing element 16 sums, for each predefined screen content, at least either the number of repetitions of the input operations associated with the displayed screen content, or the number of repetitions of the input operations associated with the displayed screen content per defined time period, or the display duration of the predefined screen content, or the number of repetitions of the display of the predefined screen content within a defined time period.More precisely, the summing element 16 multiplies at least either the respective number of repetitions or the display duration contained in the operating information by a predetermined coefficient, thereby summing the weighted processes associated with the displayed screen content.

[0021] The display candidate selection element 17 is implemented, for example, by the operation of the CPU. Based on the result of the summation, the display candidate selection element 17 determines a candidate for the screen content intended as a display candidate. In one example, the display candidate selection element 17 identifies at least one screen content as a candidate for the screen content intended as a display candidate in descending order of the point-based ratings summed by the summation element 16. In the present embodiment, the display candidate selection element 17 identifies five to ten screen content items as candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates. In another example, the display candidate selection element 17 reads the screen content preview images stored in the image storage element 12 as candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates. The display candidate determination element 17 sends the read preview images to the display control element 18.

[0022] Display control 18 is implemented, for example, by the operation of the CPU. Display control 18 not only shows the predefined screen content but also the selected display candidates on display 100. Display control 18 also displays the screen content selected by the operator M as the change target. Display control 18 shows the selected display candidates in the form of a list or as a bar on display 100. For example, display control 18 displays the display candidates in a list, as shown in Fig. 3 shown.

[0023] The operating sequence of the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the present embodiment is described below with reference to the one in Fig. The process is described in the flowchart shown in section 4. First, the operator M selects the screen content to be displayed (step S1). The input element 11 accepts the selection of the screen content by the operator M. The input element 11 sends the accepted selection of the screen content to the display control 18.

[0024] Display control 18 then displays the selected screen content on display element 100 (step S2). In one example, display control 18 reads information about the selected screen content from image storage element 12 and displays the screen content on display element 100.

[0025] Then, it is determined whether the display candidates to be shown together with the screen content to be displayed on display element 100 have been determined or not (step S3). If the display candidate determination element 17 has already determined the candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates, processing continues with step S4 (step S3: YES). If the display candidate determination element 17 has not yet determined the candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates, processing continues with step S5 (step S3: NO).

[0026] In step S4, the display control 18 shows not only the selected predefined screen content but also the display candidates. For example, the display control 18 shows the selected predefined screen content on screens 101 and 102. The display control 18 also shows the multiple screen contents already determined as display candidates by the display candidate determiner 17 on screen 103. Processing then continues with step S5.

[0027] In step S5, the operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the operational information. Operational information retrieval element 13 retrieves the process associated with the screen content displayed on display element 100 as operational information. Subsequently, operational information retrieval element 13 stores the retrieved operational information in the operational information storage element 15 (step S6).

[0028] The operational information is then summarized, and a decision is made as to whether the display candidates should be determined (step S7). If the display candidates are to be determined, processing continues with step S8 (step S7: YES). If the display candidates are not to be determined, processing continues with step S10 (step S7: NO).

[0029] In step S8, summing element 16 sums the operating information for each predefined screen content. Summing element 16 sums the operating information by evaluating the executed processes for each predefined screen content using points. Summing element 16 sends the summation results to the display candidate determination element 17.

[0030] The ad candidate determiner 17 then determines candidates for the screen content intended as ad candidates (step S9). Ad candidate determiner 17 identifies the candidates for the screen content intended as ad candidates based on the summation results determined by the summation element 16. In one example, ad candidate determiner 17 uses the summation results to define a predetermined number of screen contents as ad candidates in descending order of their point-based ratings. Processing then continues with step S10.

[0031] Step S10 determines whether or not the selection of screen content to be displayed next is being recorded. If input element 11 indicates the selection of screen content to be displayed next, processing is reset to step S1. If input element 11 indicates the selection to end processing, processing ends according to the flowchart shown.

[0032] The following results are achieved by the display device 1 described above for the injection molding machine 200 according to the present embodiment. (1) The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 comprises the display element 100, which is suitable for displaying a predetermined screen content and for displaying candidates for the next screen content to which a switch is to be made. The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 comprises the operating information retrieval element 13, which is configured to retrieve the processes executed in connection with the displayed predefined screen content as operating information; the summing element 16, which is configured to summate the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content according to the retrieved operating information; the display candidate determination element 17, which is configured to determine candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates based on the results of the summation; and the display control element 18, which is configured to display not only the predefined screen content but also the determined display candidates on the display element 100.This makes it easy to identify candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates when an operator initiates operation of the display device 1. Accordingly, the display device 1 is suitable for the injection molding machine 200 for displaying the screen content intended as display candidates without placing any burden on the operator. (2) The summing element 16 sums the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content based on at least either the number of repetitions of the input operations associated with the displayed screen content, or the number of repetitions of the input operations associated with the displayed screen content per specified time period, or the display duration of the predefined screen content, or the number of repetitions of the display of the predefined screen content within a specified time period as operating information. This enables the summation of the usage status of the screen content used when initiating operation of the injection molding machine 200, thereby enabling the selection of screen content to be displayed that is more relevant to the operator's work. (3) The summing element 16 performs a weighting with respect to the respective number of repetitions and the display duration contained in the operating information and sums the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content according to the result of the weighting. This allows the results of the summation to be changed according to the state of the injection molding machine 200 and the like, thereby enabling the provision of a device with greater flexibility. (4) The display control 18 displays the selected display candidates in the form of a list or in the form of a bar on the display element 100. This enables the display candidates to be displayed in a way that is easy for the operator to understand. [Second embodiment]

[0033] The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the second embodiment of the present invention is described below. In the description of the second embodiment, components that correspond to those according to the embodiment described above are designated by the same reference numerals, and their descriptions are omitted or simplified. The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the second embodiment differs from that according to the first embodiment in that the summing element 16 summates the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content as operating information, based on the predefined screen content and the number of repetitions of a combination of the next screen content to which the system switches and the original predefined screen content.

[0034] In one example, the summing element 16 sums the number of repetitions of the transition to the next screen content for each specified screen content. The summing element 16 then sends the number of repetitions of the transition, as the result of the summation, to the display control 18.

[0035] The following result is achieved by the display device 1 described above for the injection molding machine 200 according to the present embodiment.

[0036] (5) The summing element 16 sums the processes associated with the displayed predefined screen content based on the predefined screen content and the number of repetitions of a combination of the next screen content to which the system switches and the original, predefined screen content as operating information. This enables the identification of candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates based on the sequence of processes. Accordingly, an improvement in the flexibility of the control of the injection molding machine 200 is made possible. [Third embodiment]

[0037] The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the third embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to Fig. 5 described. In the description of the third embodiment, components that correspond to those according to the embodiments described above are designated by the same reference numerals, and their descriptions are omitted or simplified. As in Fig. As shown in Figure 5, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the third embodiment differs from those according to the first and second embodiments in that the display device 1 further comprises an operating state retrieval element 19. Furthermore, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the third embodiment differs from those according to the first and second embodiments in that the display candidate determination element 17 determines the candidates for the screen contents intended as display candidates according to the retrieved operating state.

[0038] The operating state retrieval element 19 is implemented, for example, by operating a CPU. Operating state retrieval element 19 retrieves the operating state of the injection molding machine 200. In one example, operating state retrieval element 19 retrieves a state such as "in operation," "during setup," or "under maintenance" as the operating state.

[0039] The operating state retrieval element 19 sends the retrieved operating state to the display candidate determination element 17.

[0040] The display candidate determination element 17 determines the candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates for each operating state. The display candidate determination element 17 determines the candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates for each state of the injection molding machine 200, such as in operation, during setup, or in maintenance.

[0041] The following result is achieved by the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the embodiment described above.

[0042] (6) The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 further comprises the operating state retrieval element 19, which is configured to retrieve the operating state of the injection molding machine 200. The display candidate determination element 17 determines the candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates according to the retrieved operating state. This enables a determination of the candidates for the screen content intended as display candidates that better corresponds to the state. [Fourth embodiment]

[0043] The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to Fig. 6 described. In the description of the fourth embodiment, components that correspond to those according to the embodiments described above are designated by the same reference numerals, and their descriptions are omitted or simplified. Furthermore, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fourth embodiment differs from those according to the first to third embodiments in that the summing element 16 summates the operating information for each identified operator M. Furthermore, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fourth embodiment differs from those according to the first to third embodiments in that the display candidate determination element 17 determines the display candidates for each identified operator M.

[0044] The following result is achieved by the display device 1 described above for the injection molding machine 200 according to the present embodiment.

[0045] (7) The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 further comprises the identification element 20, which is configured to identify the operator M who operates the injection molding machine 200. The display candidate determination element 17 determines the display candidates for each identified operator M. This enables the determination of display candidates that are more closely related to the operation by operator M. Accordingly, it enables the provision of the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 in a way that is easier for operator M to operate. [Fifth embodiment]

[0046] The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 described. The display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fifth embodiment is configured to perform machine learning based on the results of a combination of the respective embodiments according to the second to fourth embodiments, thereby outputting a specific display result. This means that in the fifth embodiment of the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200, the display candidate determination element 17 determines (expects) the next change targets and, based on the results summed by the summing element 16 and the trend of the results summed by the summing element 16, determines candidates for the screen content intended as the specified change target as display candidates. Furthermore, the fifth embodiment of the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 differs from those of the first to fourth embodiments in that the summing element 16 begins summing when the operating information retrieval element 13 has retrieved a preset, required number of operating information elements.Furthermore, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fifth embodiment differs from those according to the first to fourth embodiments in that the display candidate determining element 17 calculates a correct correspondence rate of the screen contents to which the machine actually switches, with respect to the actually displayed display candidates. Furthermore, the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the fifth embodiment differs from those according to the first to fourth embodiments in that the summing element 16 performs the summation again in a case where the correct correspondence rate is lower than a predetermined value.

[0047] The operating sequence of the display device 1 for the injection molding machine 200 according to the present embodiment is described below with reference to the one in Fig. The flowchart shown in section 7 is described. It should be noted that in the present flowchart, the steps from step S7 to step S9 differ from the one in Fig. The flowchart shown in section 4 has been modified. First, in step S11, the display candidate determination element 17 determines whether a determination model for identifying display candidates should be created based on several operational information elements, the operating state, and the identified operator M. The determination model is a model for identifying candidates for the screen content intended as the next display candidates, which are determined based on the several operational information elements, the operating state, and the identified operator M. If the determination model is to be created, processing continues with step S12. If the determination model has already been created and no new determination model is to be created, processing continues with step S13.

[0048] In step S12, the candidate display element 17 retrieves a predefined number of operational information elements and creates the determination model. In one example, the candidate display element 17 creates, as shown in Fig. Figure 8 shows the determination model for determining the screen content that, according to the change sequence of the screen content, is expected to be the next one to be switched to, as display candidates according to the specific operating state and the identified operator M.

[0049] The display candidate identifier 17 is then subjected to an evaluation of the result of the verification, which is carried out according to the created identification model (step S13). If the display candidate identifier 17 has correctly identified screen content as display candidates as a result of the evaluation (verification), processing continues with step S14. If the display candidate identifier 17 has not succeeded in identifying the correct screen content as display candidates, the predefined number of data elements is increased, and processing is reset to step S12.

[0050] In step S14, the display candidate determination element 17 outputs display candidates according to the created determination model. The display candidate determination element 17 then determines the difference between the screen content actually selected via input element 11 and the screen content output as display candidates (step S15). If, after outputting a predetermined number of display candidates, the percentage of differences from the actually selected screen content exceeds a predetermined percentage (in which the correct match percentage is lower than a predetermined percentage), processing is reset to step S12. If, however, the percentage of differences does not exceed a predetermined percentage (in which the correct match percentage lies within a predetermined range of a predetermined percentage), processing continues with step S16.In one case where step S16 determines that processing should continue, the processing is reset to step S14. In other cases, the processing ends.

[0051] The following result is achieved by the display device 1 described above for the injection molding machine 200 according to the present embodiment.

[0052] (8) The display candidate determination element 17 determines the next change target based on the results summed by the summing element 16 and the trend of the results summed by the summing element 16, and further identifies candidates for the screen content intended as the specified change target as display candidates. This enables the output of screen content as display candidates based on several information blocks that include past operational information, each of which has a high probability of being the next one to be displayed. Accordingly, the display candidate determination element 17 is suitable for identifying screen content intended as display candidates that have a higher correct match rate, thereby reducing the workload for the operator.

[0053] The preferred embodiments of the display device for the injection molding machine according to the present invention have been described so far. The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above. Suitable modifications are possible. According to one example, in each of the embodiments described above, each of the display devices 1 for the multiple injection molding machines 200 can share the determined display candidates. For example, the multiple display devices 1 for the injection molding machines 200 can be connected to an (not shown) administrative server configured to manage the display candidates. Each of the display devices 1 for the injection molding machines 200 can then determine display candidates by receiving them from the administrative server.More precisely, the display candidate determination element 17 can retrieve display candidates from the administrative server that are associated with a given screen content. The display candidate determination element 17 can also retrieve display candidates from the administrative server that are associated with the operator M identified by the identification element 20.

[0054] In the descriptions of the embodiments described above, the display element 100 comprises the three screens 101, 102, 103. The present invention is not limited thereto. According to one example, the display element 100 can comprise one screen or more screens. The display element 100 can be configured separately from or integrated with the injection molding machine 200.
