Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to an upper part for a section of an extrusion plant with a hinge-like bearing point, via which the upper part can be pivoted relative to a lower part about this bearing point, as well as a device for calibration.
[0002] In extrusion technology, systems are used where certain sections are covered for safety reasons. However, access to the section is required for maintenance or other work, such as retooling. The interaction between the upper and lower sections is particularly important for calibration devices.
[0003] From DE 298 16 538 U1 a pivotable cover for a calibration block of an extruder is known, wherein means are provided for lifting and securing the cover against unintentional closing.
[0004] From BE 499 473A a hinge is known which has openings into which bolts engage, whereby different positions can be set between the components which are connected by means of the hinge.
[0005] Calibration devices of this type are known. DE 29818511 U1 describes a calibration device for plastic profiles, which comprises at least one preferably liquid-cooled calibrator. The calibrator comprises at least two interacting parts, preferably an upper part, two side parts, and a lower part, which define a space with side surfaces, in which the plastic profile to be calibrated is sucked onto the side surfaces of the space by means of a vacuum. A part of the calibrator, preferably the lower part of the calibrator, is connected to a supply block, and the supply block comprises supply channels for supplying the calibrator with coolant and vacuum. The supply block comprises at least one holder suitable for receiving at least one part of the calibrator, preferably a side part, and at least one holder comprises a hinge-like bearing point.into which a part of the calibrator, preferably the upper part, can be hooked and pivoted around this bearing point.
[0006] These calibration fixtures are usually mounted on stationary crossbeams to which the fixture is firmly bolted. This has the disadvantage that the entire assembly is difficult to move during conversion, assembly, or maintenance work, resulting in correspondingly difficult handling.
[0007] Furthermore, the previously known devices have the disadvantage that the detached calibrator parts, e.g., a side panel of the calibrator, are difficult to handle or replace. Disassembled calibrator parts must be stored in an additional space, which often leads to damage to the heavy parts during maneuvering.
[0008] The invention is therefore based on the object of further developing the section of an extrusion line equipped with a cover in such a way that this section can be handled more easily than in the prior art. In particular, it should be possible to carry out modifications on or in the section with a cover without the need for separate assembly or support frames. The individual parts in the section with a cover should be easily accessible and without risk of damage, thus facilitating maintenance and conversion work.
[0009] The solution to the problem is characterized in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1 in that the hinge-like bearing point has a curved structure which describes at least two separate openings in the hinge-like bearing point, wherein bolts arranged on the upper part engage in one of the openings each, wherein the curved structure is designed such that the upper part, i.e. the lid, can be fixed in at least one position, wherein the upper part fixes itself automatically in this position, wherein the upper part slides into the fixable positions by means of gravity.
[0010] This ensures that, for example, no additional support of the cover is required during maintenance or assembly work in the covered area. The cover clicks into the specified position and cannot close automatically. This automatic fixing can be achieved by gravity, whereby the upper part with the bolts can slide into provided recesses within the curved structure, or the upper part is pushed or pulled into position or this recess using one or more other devices. This can be done, for example, using a tension spring or an appropriately arranged compression spring, but can also be achieved using an appropriately arranged gas pressure damper. This can be achieved, for example, by different locking positions within the curved structure.
[0011] The embodiment of the lid mechanism according to the invention can advantageously be used in a device for calibrating an extruded plastic profile and has at least one preferably liquid-cooled calibration and cooling tank.
[0012] The drawings show schematically a device according to the invention: Fig. 1 shows a typical extrusion line Fig. 2 a section through a calibration and cooling tank Fig. 3 a hinge-like bearing point with a curved structure Fig. 4 a calibration and cooling tank with open top / lid Fig. 5 a calibration and cooling tank with partially open top / lid
[0013] Fig. Figure 1 shows a typical extrusion line used today for profile extrusion, whether for the production of window profiles or pipes. It features an extruder 1, in which plastic is melted and continuously fed into the extrusion die 2 for shaping. This is followed by a calibration and cooling tank 3; depending on the profile, additional cooling stations can be used. A haul-off device 4 follows the cooling stations. A cutting device 5 is subsequently arranged to cut the continuous profiles 6 to the desired length. The extrusion axis is designated 15.
[0014] Fig. Figure 2 shows a schematic representation of a section through a calibration and cooling tank 3. The calibration and cooling tank 3 comprises at least a lower part 7 and an upper part 8. The lower part 7 and upper part 8 are connected to each other via a hinge-like bearing point 9. The upper and lower parts form a space 12 through which the extruded plastic profile 6 is guided.
[0015] In Fig. Figure 3 shows the hinge-like bearing point 9. It comprises two openings 13 and 14, each formed by a curved structure 11. Bolts 10 arranged on the upper part 8 engage in the openings 13 and 14. The curved structure 11 forms the openings 13 and 14 such that the upper part 8 can be fixed to the lower part 7 at different opening angles using the bolts 10.
[0016] In Fig. 4 shows the calibration and cooling tank 3 with a lower part 7 and an upper part 8, such that the upper part 8 has an opening angle of approximately 75° relative to the lower part 7. Here, too, the hinge-like bearing point 9 with the openings 13 and 14 formed by a curved structure 11 can be seen. In this exemplary embodiment, both bolts 10 are positioned in the openings 13 and 14 such that both bolts fix the upper part 8 in its position relative to the lower part 7.
[0017] In Fig. In Figure 5, the upper and lower sections of the calibration and cooling tank 3 are shown such that an opening angle of approximately 45° exists between the lower section 7 and the upper section 8. In this exemplary embodiment, a bolt 10 is fixed in the first opening 13 and in a non-fixed position in the second opening 14 in the area of the curved structure 11.
[0018] All figures refer to an exemplary embodiment of a lid for a calibration and cooling tank. However, it is expressly pointed out that the inventive design of a lid can be used for sub-areas of an extrusion line where there is a requirement or need to cover this sub-area.
