Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a motor vehicle having an operating means mounted on the steering column of the motor vehicle. In motor vehicles, it is typically desired to arrange operating elements for specific functions, for example for light control, in the immediate vicinity of the steering wheel. For this purpose, levers are typically arranged in the lower lateral region of the steering column, that is to say of the fixed part of a mechanical steering system between the dashboard and the steering wheel, said levers extending laterally beyond the steering wheel in the lower region of the steering wheel. If a shift-by-wire system is used in the motor vehicle, this is typically also intended to be able to be operated directly in the steering wheel region. For this purpose, it would be possible, for example, to use a further lever of the abovementioned type attached to the steering column. The disadvantage of the described operating concept is that, as the number of functions to be operated increases, a plurality of levers are partially present on each side of the steering wheel, which can lead to an ambiguous operating concept and the risk of accidental operation of the individual elements. In addition, different ones of the levers partially follow different operating logics, so that for example for parts of the levers there are rotational functions and for others there are not. The use of a plurality of operating modules with a respective lever additionally leads to an increase in costs. The relatively thin operating levers mentioned are also susceptible to damage, for example in accident cases, and potentially complex measures have to avoid the possibility of these injuries to vehicle occupants resulting from the levers or broken-off parts in the event of an accident. In addition, the arrangement range of the levers cannot be seen in an optimum manner, so that even with corresponding identification of the levers functions are often not clearly and directly recognized by drivers and, in addition, settings selected once cannot be read easily on the operating element itself. An alternative possibility for being able to provide functions in the steering wheel area is to mount corresponding operating elements directly on the steering wheel itself. For example, the publication EP 2 853 470 B1 proposes providing operating elements on upper and lower flanks of steering wheel spokes, by means of which, for example, flashing signals, the high beam or switching operations can be controlled. However, an arrangement of control elements on the steering wheel may increase the risk of accidental operation. In addition, such an arrangement results in the position of the operating elements changing with a rotation of the steering wheel. It is therefore generally advantageous, apart from the horn, to arrange only operating elements on the steering wheel which are used in relatively quiet driving situations, for example operating elements for controlling an audio reproduction, a hands-free system or a navigation system.Furthermore, for motor vehicles, a console for operating switches (DE 28 54 143 A1), a switching element for arrangement below the steering wheel plane (DE 28 27 338 A1), a switch panel module (DE 10 2015 226 586 A1), an operating device (DE 198 28 039 A1) and a control unit with camera (DE 10 2014 221 039 A1) are disclosed. The object of the invention is thus to specify an improved solution for an arrangement of operating elements in the immediate steering wheel environment, in particular for light functions or a shift-by-wire system. The object is achieved by a motor vehicle having an operating means attached to the steering column of the motor vehicle, wherein the operating means comprises a fixed central component which, on a side of the steering wheel facing away from the driver, extends on both sides in the transverse direction of the motor vehicle starting from the steering column and forms a front face of the operating means facing the driver, wherein the operating means comprises, at its lateral edges, in each case an input means which is mounted on the side of the central component facing away from the driver in such a way that, at least in an unactuated state, it protrudes beyond the respective lateral edge and / or beyond the upper and / or lower edge of the central component, wherein the motor vehicle comprises a control device which is configured to operate in such a way that it is able to operate directly on the side of the central component facing away from the driver, detecting a respective actuation of the respective input means by a movement in the direction of the central component and / or by a movement in at least one further direction and triggering a respective vehicle function as a function thereof. The use of the fixed center component which carries the input means leads to the formation of a common operating means which can provide functions both in the left and in the right edge region of the steering wheel. This gives the driver a uniform impression and the operation is thus made clearer. In addition, the entire operating means can buckle or break off in a controlled manner in the event of an accident, but remain as a common component, whereby injury risks can be minimized with relatively little effort. The formation of the advantageous surface by the central component also makes it possible for required movement joints to be arranged outside the field of vision of the driver or of a passenger, with the result that greater tolerances can be permitted without this leading to a less valuable impression of the vehicle interior. The movement in a respective direction can be detected by integrated pushbuttons, electrical contacts, force or position sensors or the like. The respective movement can be a linear displacement. However, a movement in one direction is also considered to be a pivoting about a spaced bearing point about a relatively small angle, which results in a linear movement in the first order. For example, a movement of less than 5 mm or less than 3 mm, for example, of approximately 1 mm, may be sufficient for triggering the vehicle function, and the bearing may be spaced apart from the actuation region by several centimeters.Since a movement takes place relative to the fixed central component which is directly adjacent, a similar operating feel can be achieved, in particular if the triggering of the vehicle function is confirmed haptically to the driver by clicking or latching the input means, as can be achieved when using levers attached to the steering column for a pivoting of 7° to 13°. The micromovements actually used for operation generally produced the impression of considerably greater movements in test users, so that a satisfactory operating feel is achieved even with very short operating paths. The arrangement of the central component on the side of the steering wheel facing away from the driver means in particular that the central component and thus the entire operating means is offset with respect to the steering wheel towards the vehicle front and is arranged in particular between the steering wheel and the dashboard. In particular, the central component can extend above the steering column and thus be arranged in the upper region of the steering column. This can further improve the visibility and operability of the operating means. The front surface of the central component faces the steering wheel and thus the driver. The central component may be break-proof. It can be designed at least in sections as a display or, for example, also as a black panel with LED displays, in order to be able to display information, as will be explained in more detail later. The surface of the front surface formed by the central component can be ground, for example, in order to make up this surface or achieve a desired surface character. Reflections can be avoided in particular by appropriate configuration of the surface.By suitable shaping of the side facing away from the driver or of the upper and / or lateral edges of the input means, for example by depressions or beveled surfaces, possible directions of movement and thus functions can be firstasted by the driver. For example, the upper and lower edges and the respective laterally outer edge can be beveled or it can be easily haptically sensed by a rear rib between an upper and lower depression, for example for a driver, that a vertical movement is possible and initiates functions. At least one of the input means can be monostable, i.e. it can always return to its initial position after its actuation. Alternatively, it can latch in various positions. Such latching is preferably clearly haptically detectable. Also in the case of monostable input means, haptic feedback can be given by means of a noticeable click, a vibration or similar. The front surface of the operating means can be formed by a display means or comprise at least one display means, wherein the control device is configured to visualize a detected actuation and / or a triggered vehicle function and / or an operating parameter of the motor vehicle adapted by triggering the vehicle function by controlling the display means. Such visualization can be effected by selective illumination of individual symbols, for example by LEDs and / or by one or more displays, for example segment displays or graphic displays. The visualization may indicate the state of an operating function, for example, display or illuminate a specific symbol, e.g., when a high beam or a turn signal is active. Additionally or alternatively, a selected driving direction or a selected gear can be highlighted or displayed. In particular, on a surface, namely the front surface or on a component, namely the central component, displays for a plurality of functions, in particular for all functions triggerable on the operating means, can be provided. The display means or at least one of the display means can also serve to provide information about triggerable functions to the driver and to enable him to sample the provided functions with the aid of visual feedback, as will be explained in more detail below.A camera can be integrated into the operating means, in particular into the central component. In particular, the camera can be arranged in such a way that it captures the seating region of a driver of the motor vehicle. The camera can be, in particular, a driver observation camera (FBK). Integration of a camera into the operating means or into its central component can save installation space in the dashboard or other vehicle components.According to the invention, the control device is configured to output driving function information associated with the respective vehicle function via the or a display means or at least one of the display means and / or acoustically via a loudspeaker when a respective information condition is fulfilled, wherein on the one hand the input means each have at least one sensor surface which is associated in each case with a vehicle function triggerable by the respective input means, wherein the fulfilment of the respective information condition depends on a recognition of a contact of the sensor surface associated with the respective driving function, and / or wherein on the other hand the fulfilment of the respective information condition depends on a recognition of a respective movement of a respective one of the input means in the direction of the central component or in the respective further direction. The driving function information can be, for example, a text or a symbol which describes the respective vehicle function and which can be output on the front surface, in particular centrally, when the information condition is fulfilled. Alternatively or additionally, such an output can also be effected via other vehicle components or an acoustic output can be effected. The output of a respective driving function information item when the respective information condition is fulfilled makes it possible to already inform a driver, when the input means is touched or slightly actuated, which function will be executed when this input means is actuated.A resistive or capacitive touch sensor, for example, can be used as the sensor surface. The sensor surface is preferably provided on that surface of the input means on which the driver will normally exert force in order to move the input means in the direction of movement associated with the function. Thus, for example, a sensor surface for that vehicle function which is assigned to a movement of the input means in the direction of the central component can be arranged on the lateral end face of the input means which is remote from the central component. Sensor surfaces for functions which are associated with vertical movements can be provided, for example, on the upper or lower edge of the input means or in an upper or lower grip recess. In cases in which the fulfillment of the information condition depends on the detection of a movement, the information condition can already be fulfilled in the case of slight movements or when a first threshold is exceeded by the movement, wherein the triggering of the respective function requires a greater movement, for example an exceeding of a second threshold of the movement, for example a perceptible latching or clicking point. The control device can be configured to trigger a change of a gear or a selected driving direction and / or the activation of a parking brake and / or the selection of one of a plurality of settings for at least one driving parameter relating to the driving operation and / or an activation of a respective flasher and / or a temporary or permanent flashing of a high beam and / or an activation of a window washer upon detection of the actuation of the respective input means in a respective direction as a respective vehicle function. For example, a movement of the input means, in particular the left input means, in particular in the vertical direction, can serve for activating flashing, wherein for example a movement downwards activates the left flasher and a movement upwards activates the right flasher. A movement, in particular of the same input means, in or against the direction of travel can serve for high beam control. For example, pulling can activate a temporary activation, i.e. a horn, and pushing away in the direction of travel can activate a permanent high beam activation. By pressing in particular the same input means, in particular in the direction of the central component, a front window washer can be activated. An input means, in particular the other or right input means, can implement shift-by-wire functions, i.e. serve for gear selection or driving direction selection, for example. For example, a vertical movement can serve for the selection of gear or driving direction and a pressure towards the central component can serve for activating the parking brake. In this case, the direction of movement in the direction of travel would remain, for example, to switch between settings for, in particular, a plurality of driving parameters, which can be set in particular beforehand as presets by a driver. In this case, for example, a specific preset can be selected by pushing forward and pulling backward in each case, or a sequential switching through of a plurality of presets by forward and backward movement can be possible. For a selection of the direction of travel, it is possible to switch over sequentially between forward travel, idling travel and reverse travel, for example. In the case of vehicles with an electric drive, for example in the case of pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, a braking stage (B) can additionally be provided, for example as a further step of the sequence after the forward travel, in which increased recuperation takes place, in particular as a type of engine brake, that is to say when an accelerator pedal is released.Driving parameters which can be set can relate, for example, to parameters of the chassis, of the engine, reaction curves for steering, accelerator and / or brake, shift points of an automatic transmission, a hybrid mode used, degrees of automation or assist systems used and / or their parameterization. The respective input means can extend parallel to the front surface at least in the unactuated state. As a result, required movement joints can be covered by the central component and a risk of damage or incorrect operation of the input means is reduced. Additionally or alternatively, the respective input means can be mounted on the central component in such a way that it is movable relative to the central component both in the direction of the central component and in two further directions which are at an angle to one another in order to trigger a respective vehicle function. The movements can in particular be displacements or swivels parallel to the front surface, but swivels with small angles to the front surface can also be possible, in order to enable for example a forward or rearward movement of the input means by a swivel. In particular for the other directions which are at an angle to one another, different vehicle functions can be triggered by a forward and backward movement in this direction, i.e. for example for a movement upward and downward or in and against the direction of travel, so that up to five functions can be triggered per input means by the mentioned movements. On the front surface of the operating means or in a depression of the front surface, an operating element, in particular a stone, can be arranged, which is mounted movably with respect to the central component in such a way that it is movable in at least one direction parallel to the front surface and / or perpendicular to the front surface, wherein the control device is configured to trigger a respective further vehicle function on detection of a movement of the operating element in this direction or directions. The operating element can be mounted in particular in a monostable manner, that is to say can be deflected only temporarily. In particular, a movement in two directions parallel to the front surface is possible and / or a printing function can be implemented. Movements can be detected, for example, as explained above with respect to the input means. Since it is possible in turn to distinguish between a forward and rearward movement for the respective directions, that is to say, for example, between a left and right movement and a displacement upwards and downwards, up to five of the further vehicle functions can be triggered by the operating element. The control device can be configured such that, when the movement of the operating element in a respective direction is detected as a respective further vehicle function, a function of at least one windscreen wiper or of a windscreen wiper system can be triggered. For example, a front windshield wiper can be activated by a displacement of the operating element to the left or right or its speed or its wiping interval can be controlled. A movement upward or downward can serve for controlling the rear window wiper or the rear window washing installation. For example, an upward pressure can permanently activate the rear window wiper and a downward pressure can activate the rear window washer and trigger a short-term wiping. The front surface of the operating element formed by the central component can be formed in one piece and / or without gaps or, apart from a guide for the operating element formed by the central component, can be formed in one piece and / or without gaps. In particular, moving joints facing the driver can thus be avoided, whereby a valuable impression results largely independently of gap dimensions for moving joints. The control device can be configured to implement a video game in an operating mode of the control device, which can be triggered in particular only when the motor vehicle is at a standstill, and to evaluate operating actions on the input means and / or on the operating element as operating inputs for controlling the video game on the one hand and / or to output video game-related information on the one hand on the display means of the central component on the other hand. In this operating mode, preferably no vehicle functions are triggered by the input means or the operating element. The driver can thus be provided with a value in excess essentially without additional technical complexity, in order to maintain him, for example, while he is also waiting for passengers. In addition to or as an alternative to a use in the standstill of the motor vehicle, a corresponding operating mode can also be used, for example, when the motor vehicle is driving with a degree of automation which does not require permanent monitoring of the driving operation by the driver.Further advantages and details of the invention are shown by the following exemplary embodiments and the associated drawings. The following are shown schematically: FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a motor vehicle according to the invention, FIGS. 2 to 5 show detailed views of the operating means used in FIG. 1, and FIG. 6 shows a detailed view of an alternative embodiment of a corresponding operating means in a further exemplary embodiment of a motor vehicle according to the invention.FIG. 1 shows a motor vehicle 1 with an operating means 5 attached to the steering column 2 of the motor vehicle 1, i.e. between the steering wheel 3 and the dashboard 4 or on the side of the steering wheel 3 facing away from a driver 21. FIG. 2 shows here schematically a top view of the operating means 5 from above and FIG. 3 shows the operating means 5 from the point of view of the driver 21.The operating means 5 has a fixed central component 6 which, as can be seen clearly in FIG. 2 in particular, extends on both sides in the transverse direction of the motor vehicle 1, starting from the steering column 2. The central component 6 forms a front surface 7 of the operating means facing the driver 21. Provided on the lateral edges of the operating means 5 are input means 8, 9, respectively, which are mounted on the rear side of the central component 6 via a respective bearing 20, wherein the region of the bearing 20 is covered by the front surface 7 from the perspective of the driver 21. As a result, the required movement gaps for movably mounting the input means 8, 9 can be concealed from the driver, where less narrow tolerances have to be observed in this respect in order to achieve a high-quality impression of the vehicle interior. The input means are mounted on the side of the central component 6 facing away from the driver in such a way that they project beyond the respective lateral edge 10, 11 and beyond the upper and lower edge 12- 15 of the central component 6, at least in an unactuated state. The bearing 20 preferably enables a plurality of degrees of freedom of movement of the respective input means 8, 9 with respect to the central component 6, which are illustrated in FIG. 4. On the one hand, as is represented by the arrow 22, a movement in the direction of the central component 6 is preferably permitted. In addition, as is represented by the arrows 23, 24, 25, a movement in the vertical direction, both upward and downward, and a movement in the vehicle longitudinal direction, both forward and rearward, may be possible. Here, the input means 8, 9 preferably extend parallel to the front surface 7 and also remain substantially parallel to the latter during the movement. However, it may be possible to realize the movement in the vertical direction or in the vehicle longitudinal direction by pivoting around the region of the bearing 20 at a small angle. Since it may be sufficient for triggering a respective vehicle function to move the respective input means 8, 9 by approximately 1 mm and the distance of the operating range of the respective input means 8, 9 protruding beyond the central component 6 from the bearing 20 is several centimeters, in particular more than 5 cm or more than 10 cm, this results, however, at least approximately likewise in a linear movement in the directions indicated in FIG. 4.An actuation of the respective input means 8, 9 by the driver 21, i.e. a movement in a corresponding direction, is detected by a control device 16 of the motor vehicle, which triggers a respective vehicle function assigned to the direction of movement upon detection of such an actuation. In the example, the left input means 8 serves as a light vision control. By an upward or downward movement of the input means 8, the right or left turn signal 18 of the motor vehicle can be activated. Pressing the input means 8 in the direction of travel can permanently activate a high beam function of a headlight 19 of the motor vehicle, wherein a method for briefly activating the high beam serves for the administration of a light horn signal. Movement towards the central component 6 may activate a window washer 26.In contrast, the right input means 9 serves for the travel control in the example. By upward or downward movement of the input means 9, the driver 21 can carry out a selection of the direction of travel or gear, i.e. change, for example, between a reverse gear, a neutral gear and a forward drive. This can be effected, for example, by controlling a transmission 17. A movement in the direction of the central component 6 can activate a parking brake of the motor vehicle. A forward or backward movement of the input means 9 can serve for changing between different settings for the driving operation, i.e. for example, changing between a sport mode and an efficiency mode, selecting between different chassis tuning operations and the like. In this case, it can be preset in particular by the driver 21 which parameter sets or presets are intended to be replaceable by the input means 9.The front surface 7 of the operating means 5 comprises in the example a plurality of display means 27- 30. the display means 27 and 30 are each formed by a plurality of symbols, i.e. the arrows, letters and the like shown, which can each be illuminated separately, for example by a respective light-emitting diode. The control device 16 can thus illuminate a respective symbol of the display means 27 in order to indicate that the left or right turn signal 18 is active or that a high beam is active. By illuminating the respective letter of the symbol group of the display means 28, the selected driving direction or driving stage can be displayed and additionally whether a parking brake is active. The display means 27 and 28 thus serve to display vehicle functions which can be triggered by the input means 8, 9.The display means 29, which can be a graphic display or a multisegment display, for example, serves to output driving function information assigned to a respective vehicle function when a respective information condition is fulfilled. Alternatively or additionally, it would be possible to output it acoustically via the loudspeaker 31. The output of the driving function information serves primarily to assist the driver in operating the input means 8, 9 or to indicate triggerable functions already upon a touch or slight actuation of the input means 8, 9.One way of doing this is schematically illustrated in FIG. 5. In this case, in the region of the upper and lower edge of the input means 8, that is to say in regions which the driver 21 is expected to touch when he wishes to move the input means 8 upwards or downwards, sensor surfaces 32, 33 are arranged, which can be designed, for example, as resistive or capacitive touch sensors. If a touch is detected, since in the example the input means 8 serves for setting the flasher, when one of the sensor surfaces is touched, which points to a desired upward or downward movement, the text "set right or left flasher", for example, or a corresponding symbol can be output via the display means 29 in order to show to the driver which function would be carried out during an actuation. If, for example, both sensor surfaces 32, 33 were touched, this can indicate an intended pulling of the input means 8 on the driver 27, whereby information about the function triggered thereby, for example the term "light horn" or a corresponding symbol, could be output. For movement directions for which the corresponding sensor surfaces 32, 33 are not provided or for all movement directions, if no sensor surfaces 32, 33 are used at all, it is possible to already detect relatively small movements in the corresponding direction, to output an indication via the display device 29 when detecting such a small movement, and first to actually trigger the function when further actuation, for example beyond a click or latching point. Thus, for example, a slight pressing of the input means 9 towards the central component 6 could lead to the text "activating parking brake" being output on the display means 29, after which a further pressing actually activates the parking brake. It may be desired to implement all operating functions by the operating means 5, which are usually implemented via levers attached to the steering column. Although, as explained above, each of the two input means 8, 9 can be used in each case to trigger up to five vehicle functions, an even greater number of functions is often desired. In the example, a control of a front and a rear windscreen wiper is to additionally take place here, which are not illustrated in FIG. 1 for reasons of clarity. In order to open up additional operating possibilities, an operating element 35 in the form of a stone is arranged on the front surface 7 or in a depression 34 of the front surface 7, which is mounted movably with respect to the central component 6. In the example, the operating element 35 is movable in two directions parallel to the front surface 7 and perpendicular to the front surface. In this case, a movement in the transverse direction of the vehicle, as is represented in FIG. 4 by the arrows 36, 37, can serve to select different speed steps or wiping intervals for the front windshield wiper. An upward or downward movement, as is represented by the arrows 38, 39, can serve for controlling a window washer system on the rear window or for activating the rear window wiper. Pressing the operating element 35 can, for example, activate or deactivate an automatic windscreen wiper control, for example on the basis of a rain sensor. Activated functions can be visualized by the display means 30, for example by illumination of a respective corresponding symbol.Apart from the guidance of the operating element 35, the front surface 7 can be jointless and one-piece in order to generate a particularly valuable impression. By grinding or another surface treatment of the front surface, a desired impression can be produced. The front surface 7 can be formed, for example, by glass or acrylic glass and is preferably break-proof. The fastening of the central component 6 to the steering column can be effected in such a way that, in the event of an accident, the entire central component with the further components of the operating means 5 attached thereto can be bent away towards the vehicle front. In another operating mode of the motor vehicle 1, in particular when the motor vehicle 1 is stationary, the operating element 5 can also be used to entertain the driver 21 by a video game. For this purpose, a video game implemented by the control device 16 can record inputs via the input means 8, 9 or the operating element 35 and output game-relevant information via the display means 29.FIG. 6 shows a slightly different embodiment of the input means 8, in which the rear side of the input means 8 facing away from the driver 21 has two grip shells 40, 41, which are separated by a web 42. As a result, the input means 8 can be graspable particularly ergonomically. In particular, a vertical adjustment of the input means 8 is possible in a particularly ergonomic manner and the design of the rear side of the input means already points the driver 21 to such an operating possibility.
