Description

[0001] The invention relates to an air vent having the features of the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] Air vents supply air to the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. They are typically recessed into, behind, or beneath the interior paneling of the passenger compartment, with one air outlet opening located in a surface of the interior paneling facing the passenger compartment and the other air vent located on a side of the interior paneling facing away from the passenger compartment. The interior paneling can be, for example, a dashboard, a center console, or an interior door panel.

[0003] The published patent application DE 10 2005 027 746 A1 discloses an air vent with several strip-shaped air outlet openings arranged parallel one above the other, which can be closed with strip-shaped air guide elements, hollow profiles with a D-shaped cross-section. The air guide elements are integral with a movable mount such that they can only be moved together. In a closed position, the air guide elements are flush with the surface of a visible side of the interior paneling of a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. To open, the air guide elements are retracted from the air outlet openings so that outflowing air flows around them at the top and bottom. By moving the air guide elements upwards or downwards, the air flow from the air vent can be directed diagonally upwards or downwards. To direct the airflow sideways, the known air vent has slats arranged parallel to one another and perpendicular to the strip-shaped air outlet openings. These slats are positioned in front of the air guide elements in the direction of airflow through the air vent. To direct the airflow sideways, the slats can be pivoted together in parallel.

[0004] The object of the invention is to propose an alternative air vent for a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle.

[0005] This object is achieved according to the invention by an air vent having the features of claim 1.

[0006] The air vent according to the invention is intended for supplying air into a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle and comprises a surface element with a flat, visible side and a rear side opposite the visible side. In analogy to textile fabrics, “surface-like”, “sheet-like” and “surface element” are to be understood as something essentially two-dimensional, the thickness of which is negligibly small in relation to its length and / or width or to its surface area. The thickness is preferably less than 10% of its largest dimension in its surface area. The surface element is, in particular, an interior panel or part of an interior panel of the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle, the interior panel being, for example, a dashboard, a center console or an interior door panel of the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The visible side is a surface of the surface element facing the passenger compartment and visible to vehicle occupants in the passenger compartment.

[0007] Furthermore, the air vent according to the invention has an air duct with an air outlet opening in the surface element and a movable closure that can be moved back and forth between a closed position and an open position. In the closed position, the closure closes the air outlet opening of the air vent, in particular flush with the visible side of the surface element of the air vent, and in the open position releases the air outlet opening such that an air flow flowing through the air duct of the air vent flows out of the air vent through the air outlet opening and into the passenger compartment. It is not intended that the closure hermetically, i.e. fluid-tightly, closes the air outlet opening in the closed position, although the invention does not exclude a hermetically sealed closure of the air outlet opening. The intention is to completely or largely visually close the air outlet opening of the surface element. "Open" means that, viewed perpendicular to the visible side of the surface element, the air outlet opening is completely or at least partially open, i.e. in particular at least 50% and preferably at least 70%, 85% or 90% of the surface of the air outlet opening. "Flush with the surface" means that, in the closed position, a visible side of the closure has no offset perpendicular to the visible side of the surface element and preferably continues flush with the visible side of the surface element, such that the air outlet opening of the surface element closed by the closure is not or hardly perceptible visually and / or haptically.

[0008] For opening and closing, the air vent according to the invention has a closure guide which guides the closure in such a way that the closure moves from the closed position flush with the visible side of the surface element into the open position when opening and vice versa when closing.

[0009] According to the invention, an air divider is arranged in the air duct, which divides the air duct into a first partial air duct and a second partial air duct. The two partial air ducts extend diagonally toward each other in the direction of the air outlet opening, such that air flowing out of the partial air ducts flows diagonally into each other in the air outlet opening or shortly before or shortly after the air outlet opening in the passenger compartment. This allows the air flow direction to be controlled by throttling the air flows in the partial air ducts to varying degrees. Upon opening, i.e., when the closure is moved into the open position, the closure moves into the air divider according to the invention. In the open position, one visible side of the closure or at least part of the visible side of the closure is no longer flush with the part of the surface element surrounding the air outlet opening, but projects backwards, below the part of the visible side surrounding it.

[0010] One advantage of the invention is the possibility of closing the air outlet opening of the air vent in such a way that it is not or hardly perceptible visually and / or tactilely for vehicle occupants in the passenger compartment. However, the invention does not preclude designs in which the air outlet opening is clearly visible and perceptible tactilely when the air vent is closed.

[0011] The air divider allows the air flow from the air outlet to be directed and also guides the partial air flows around the closure in the open position, which, according to the invention, is moved into the air divider in the open position.

[0012] The air vent according to the invention can be constructed with few parts and requires only little installation space, since in the open position the closure uses the air divider arranged in the air duct as a space-saving receiving space.

[0013] The dependent claims relate to advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention defined in claim 1.

[0014] One embodiment of the invention provides that the closure has precisely one closing element, which, in the closed position, closes the air outlet opening of the air vent flush with the visible side of the surface element. Thus, in this embodiment of the invention, a single closing element closes the entire air outlet opening.

[0015] Another embodiment of the invention provides that at least one first closing element is flush with the visible side of the surface element in the closed position, and that at least one second closing element is also flush with the visible side of the surface element in the closed position. By opening the two closing elements to different widths, in particular, the air flow from the air vent into the passenger compartment can be directed in this embodiment of the invention.

[0016] Preferably, the first closing element closes the first partial air duct in the closed position, and the second closing element closes the second partial air duct. By closing one of the two partial air ducts or opening the two partial air ducts to different widths, the air flow from the air vent into the passenger compartment can be directed in this embodiment of the invention.

[0017] The locking guide can, for example, have a pivot bearing or a sliding guide for the locking mechanism or for each locking element of the locking mechanism. A pivot bearing and / or a sliding guide can be provided for each locking element, for several locking elements, or for all locking elements.

[0018] For opening and closing, one embodiment of the invention provides a cam control for the closure or for the closing element(s).

[0019] One embodiment of the invention provides an air control element on an upstream side of the air divider and / or in the partial air ducts. The upstream side is a side of the air divider opposite the air outlet opening, i.e., the side of the air divider onto which the air flowing through the air vent flows when the air vent flows through the air vent in a predetermined flow direction. The air control element can be an air deflection element, with which the air flow through and out of the air vent can be directed, or an air flow control element, which controls, in particular throttles, the air flow flowing through the air vent. An air deflection element is, for example, a pivotable louvre, and an air flow control element is, for example, a throttle valve or a throttle slide. The air deflection element is in particular intended to direct the air flow through and out of the air outlet in a different direction than the air divider, in particular the air divider and the air deflection element direct the air flow through and out of the air outlet in mutually perpendicular directions.

[0020] If the air vent has a cam control for the closure or closing elements, this cam control can also control, i.e., move, the air control element(s). The cam control can have multiple control cams, for example, one control cam for the closure or one control cam for each closing element and one control cam for the air control element(s).

[0021] For opening and closing the closure or the closure element(s), one embodiment of the invention provides a control slide to which the closure or the closure element(s) is / are drive-connected such that a displacement of the control slide in a first direction opens the closure or the closure element(s) and a displacement of the control slide in a direction opposite to the first direction closes the closure or the closure element(s).

[0022] The features and combinations of features, embodiments and configurations of the invention mentioned above in the description, as well as the features and combinations of features mentioned below in the description of the figures and / or drawn in a figure can be used not only in the respective combination specified or drawn, but also in principle any other combinations or individually. Embodiments of the invention are possible which do not have all the features of a dependent claim. Individual features of a claim can also be replaced by other disclosed features or combinations of features. Embodiments of the invention which do not have all the features of the embodiment(s), but basically any part of the identified features of an embodiment, optionally in combination with one, several or all features of one or more further embodiments, are possible.

[0023] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to two exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 - 4 a longitudinal section of an air vent according to the invention in different positions; Fig. 5 a control disc of the air outlet of the Fig. 1 to 4; Fig. 6 a longitudinal section of a second embodiment of an air vent according to the invention in a closed position; and Fig. 7 a control slide of the air outlet Fig. 6 in a perspective view.

[0024] The Fig. The air vent 1 according to the invention, shown in Figures 1 to 4, is intended for supplying air into a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle (not shown). It comprises a plate-shaped surface element 2, which can, for example, be part of an interior panel of the passenger compartment. The interior panel is, for example, a dashboard, a center console, or an interior door panel of the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. The surface element 2 can be flat, as shown, or one- or two-dimensionally curved, or have another non-flat shape.

[0025] An air duct 4 is arranged on a rear side 3 of the surface element 2. In the exemplary embodiment, the air duct 4 has a rectangular cross-section, with a constant width and a variable height in the exemplary embodiment. The air duct 4 terminates in an air outlet opening 5, which in the exemplary embodiment is designed as a rectangular opening in the surface element 2. The invention does not preclude other shapes of the air duct 4 and the air outlet opening 5. The rear side 3 here refers to a side of the surface element 2 facing away from the passenger compartment.

[0026] An air divider 6 is arranged in the air duct 4. In the exemplary embodiment, this air divider 6 is designed as a V-shaped hollow body that is arranged symmetrically to a longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4, also referred to as "horizontal" here. Legs 7 of the "V" are arranged on an upstream side of the air divider 6 facing away from the air outlet opening 5 and at equal angles to the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4. In the direction of the air outlet opening 5, sections 8 parallel to one another and to the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4 adjoin the legs 7 of the "V" of the air divider 6. On a side facing the air outlet opening 5, the air divider 6 is open and the air divider 6 ends at a distance behind the air outlet opening 5 and away from the rear side 3 of the surface element 2.

[0027] The air divider 6 divides the air duct 4 into two partial air ducts 9, 10 which, in the exemplary embodiment, run symmetrically above and below around the air divider 6 and run obliquely towards each other in the direction of the air outlet opening 5.

[0028] The air vent 1 has a movable closure 11 which is arranged in a Fig. 1, the air outlet opening 5 is closed flush with a visible side 12 of the surface element 2, which in the exemplary embodiment has a surface structure 45. The visible side 12 of the surface element 2 is a surface of the surface element 2 facing away from the rear side 3 and facing the passenger compartment and visible to vehicle occupants in the passenger compartment. The closure 11 is not hermetically sealed, although the invention does not exclude a hermetically sealed, i.e. fluid-tight, closure of the air outlet opening 5."Surface-flush" means that a visible side of the closure 11 in the closed position, apart from the surface structure 45, has no offset from the visible side 12 of the surface element 2, or that the visible side of the closure 11 in the closed position is aligned with the visible side 12 of the surface element 2 in an area surrounding the air outlet opening 5, which, as in the exemplary embodiment, can mean that it merges into its surface structure 45. In the closed position of the closure 11, the air outlet opening 5 is therefore optically and haptically incorporated in the surface element 2 of the air vent 1 according to the invention and is not or hardly perceptible.

[0029] In the exemplary embodiment, the visible side 12 of the surface element 2 is a substantially flat, two-dimensional surface with a surface structure 45 that forms local elevations and depressions. Due to their two-dimensional shape, the visible side 12 and the surface element 2 can be considered "flat."

[0030] In the exemplary embodiment, the closure 11 is two-part, comprising two closing elements 13, 14, which in the exemplary embodiment are in the form of straight bars with rectangular or square cross-sections. The opposing sides of the closing elements 13, 14 abut one another in the horizontal longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4.

[0031] The two closing elements 13, 14 are provided with a closure guide 16 parallel to the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4 from the Fig. 1, which is flush with the visible side 12 of the surface element 2, into an open position in which the closing elements 13, 14 are moved into the air divider 6 between the parallel sections 8 of the air divider 6. Fig. 2 shows a first of the two closing elements 13 in the open position and a second of the two closing elements 14 in the closed position, Fig. 3 shows both locking elements 13, 14 in intermediate positions between the closed position and the open position and Fig. 4 shows the first locking element 13 in the closed position and the second locking element 14 in the open position.

[0032] The closure guide 16 has grooves 17 in the side walls of the air duct 4, parallel to the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4, into which guide webs 18 engage, which protrude from the ends of the closure elements 13, 14 facing the side walls of the air duct 4. The parallel sections 8 of the air divider 6, on whose mutually facing inner sides the closure elements 13, 14 rest, and the contact of the two closure elements 13, 14 against each other, also guide the closure elements 13, 14 displaceably parallel to the horizontal longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4 and can be regarded as components of the closure guide 16. In the Fig. 1 to 4, the locking guide 16 is a sliding guide.

[0033] If both partial air ducts 9, 10 are open, the alignment of the partial air ducts 9, 10 in the direction of the air outlet opening 5 causes air flows of the partial air ducts 9, 10 to flow diagonally towards each other from the partial air ducts 9, 10 in the area of the air outlet opening 5 and to flow diagonally into each other, resulting in an air flow from the air outlet opening 5 of the air vent 1 in the direction of the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4. If, as shown in the Fig. 2 and Fig. If, as shown in Figure 4, only one of the two partial air ducts 9, 10 is open, the air from the air vent 1 flows diagonally out of the open partial air duct 9, 10 and out of the air outlet opening 5 of the air vent 1. In this way, the air flow from the air vent 1 can be directed.

[0034] For moving or shifting the closing elements 13, 14, the air vent 1 has a cam control 19. In the exemplary embodiment, the cam control 19 has a control disc 20, which is arranged on one side of the air duct 4 and is rotatable about a rotational axis 21 passing transversely through the air duct 4 in the horizontal longitudinal center plane 15. The control disc 20 is in Fig. 5 as an individual part. The control disc 20 has a first control cam 22, into which a first control pin 23 protruding laterally from the first closing element 13 engages, and a second control cam 24, into which a second control pin 25 protruding laterally from the second closing element 14 engages. The control cams 22, 24 enclose the axis of rotation 21 and are arranged together in or on the control disc 20. In a circumferential direction, the control cams 22, 24 in the exemplary embodiment each extend over approximately 180°. The control disc 20 is located in front of the plane of the drawing and is in the Fig. 1 to 4 are shown transparently so that the air duct 4 behind it with the air divider 6 and the closing elements 13, 14 are visible in the figures.

[0035] The first control cam 22 initially has a circular arc-shaped section concentric with the rotational axis 21 of the control disk 20, before a radial distance of the first control cam 22 from the rotational axis 21 initially decreases in an arc-shaped manner and then increases again to the original distance. Fig. 1, the first control cam 22 moves the first closing element 13 into the position shown in Fig. 2 shown open position into the air divider 6 and with a further rotation out of the air divider 6 via the Fig. 3 shown intermediate position until the closed position again, as shown in Fig. 4 is shown.

[0036] The second control cam 24 also initially has a circular arc-shaped section concentric with the rotational axis 21 of the control disk 20, which is longer in the circumferential direction than the circular arc-shaped section of the first control cam 22 concentric with the rotational axis 21. As a result, the cam control 19 moves the second closing element 14 from the closed position to the open position later than the first closing element 13. Subsequently, a radial distance of the second control cam 24 from the rotational axis 21 decreases such that upon further rotation of the control disk 20 in the first rotational direction 31, the second closing element 14 is moved from the closed position to the open position into the air divider 6, while the first closing element 13 is moved in the opposite direction from the closed position back to the open position ( Fig. 4). Fig. 3 shows the two closing elements 13, 14 in intermediate positions between the open position and the closed position, in which the two closing elements 13, 14 move in opposite directions when the control disc 20 rotates.

[0037] A design of the air vent 1 according to the invention with only one closing element is also possible, which can be designed as a rigid, one-piece assembly of the two closing elements 13, 14 (not shown). The air outlet opening 5 of the air duct 4 is opened and closed in the manner explained above for the two-part design of the closure 11 with the two closing elements 13, 14. However, in the one-part design of the closure 11 (not shown), the two partial air ducts 9, 10 can only be opened and closed together, which means that the air flow from the air vent 1 cannot be directed.

[0038] On the upstream side of the air divider 6 facing away from the air outlet opening 5, the air vent 1 according to the invention has a throttle valve 26 pivotable about a pivot axis 27 extending transversely through the air duct 4 in the horizontal longitudinal center plane 15. The throttle valve 26 is pivoted via a control lever 28, which is rigidly arranged on one side of the throttle valve 26, coaxial with the pivot axis 27. At an end remote from the throttle valve 26, the control lever 28 has a third control pin 29, which engages a third control cam 30 on or in the control disc 20.

[0039] Based on the Fig. 1, the third control cam 30 initially has a short radial section which, at the beginning of the rotation of the control disc 20 in the first direction of rotation 31, causes the throttle valve 26 to pivot from a position shown in Fig. 1, in which the throttle valve 26 closes the air duct 4, into a position shown in Fig. 2 to 4, in which the throttle valve 26 is located in the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4 and the air duct 4 is open for air flow. Adjoining the radial section of the third control cam 30 is a circular arc-shaped section concentric with the rotational axis 21 of the control disc 20, which holds the throttle valve 26 in the open position during further rotation of the control disc 20 ( Fig. 2 to 4). The air vent 1 according to the invention thus also has a cam control 19 for the throttle valve 26, or the cam control 19 of the air vent 1 also pivots the throttle valve 26. In general, the throttle valve 26 can also be regarded as an air control element 32.

[0040] In the following explanation of a second, in Fig. 6 illustrated embodiment of an air vent 1 according to the invention, essentially differences from the one shown in the Fig. 1 to 5, and the above explanations of the first embodiment are additionally referred to. In principle, identical parts are provided with identical reference numerals in the figures.

[0041] A surface element 2, an air duct 4 on a rear side 3 of the surface element 2 with a rectangular or hexagonal air outlet opening 5 in the surface element 2, and a cross-sectionally V-shaped air divider 6, which divides the air duct 4 into two partial air ducts 9, 10, are in the second, in Fig. 6 illustrated embodiment of the invention with the in Fig. 1 to 4. As in the first embodiment, in the second embodiment the air divider 6 is designed symmetrically to a horizontal longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4 and is arranged in the air duct 4. On an inflow side facing away from the air outlet opening 5, it has two legs 7 which run obliquely outwards at equal angles from the longitudinal center plane 15 and which are adjoined by sections 8 which are parallel to one another and to the longitudinal center plane 15 of the air duct 4. On a side facing the air outlet opening 5, the air divider 6 is open. The two partial air ducts 9, 10 also run obliquely towards one another towards the air outlet opening 5.

[0042] Unlike in the first embodiment, a closure 11 of the air vent 1 has Fig. 6 does not have movable closing elements 13, 14, but rather two pivotable closing flaps as closing elements 33, 34. The closing elements 33, 34 are pivotable about a common pivot axis 35, which passes through the air outlet opening 5 at the level of the longitudinal center plane 15. The air vent 1 thus has a pivot bearing as a closure guide 16 for the closure 11 or for the closing elements 33, 34 of the closure 11.

[0043] In a Fig. In the closed position shown in Figure 6, the two closing elements 33, 34 jointly close the air outlet opening 5. The closing elements 33, 34 have circular arc-shaped sections 36 on their edges remote from the pivot axis 35, which protrude concentrically to the pivot axis 35 from the rear sides of the closing elements 33, 34 in the direction of the air divider 6. In the closed position, the circular arc-shaped sections 36 of the two closing elements 33, 34 close the openings of the two partial air ducts 9, 10 into the air duct 4 or to the air outlet opening 5.

[0044] To open, the two closing elements 33, 34 are pivoted at least partially - in the exemplary embodiment the circular arc-shaped sections 36 - into the air divider 6, which is open on its side facing the air outlet opening 5 and thus also the closing elements 33, 34.

[0045] The two closing elements 33, 34 of the air vent 1 from Fig. 6 can be made like the closing elements 13, 14 of the air outlet 1 from Fig. 1 to 4 can be pivoted individually using a cam control, for example, a control disk. In both embodiments, a different drive for the closing elements 13, 14; 33, 34 is also possible, for example, with one actuator for each closing element 13, 14; 33, 34 and, if appropriate, the throttle valve 26 / the air control element 32 (not shown).

[0046] Instead of the curve control 19, the air outlet 1 has Fig. 6 has a control slide 37, which opens and closes the two closing elements 33, 34 designed as closing flaps, i.e. moves or pivots them from the closed position to the open position and vice versa. The control slide 37 is in Fig. 7 shown in a perspective view.

[0047] The control slide 37 is arranged in the horizontal longitudinal center plane 15 in the air duct 4 and is guided so as to be displaceable in the longitudinal center plane 15 in a longitudinal direction of the air duct 4. On a side facing the closing elements 33, 34, the control slide 37 has two tabs 44 which are diagonally spaced apart in a V-shape, each of which is articulated to one of the two closing elements 33, 34 at a radial distance from the pivot axis 35, such that by moving the control slide 37 in the direction of the air outlet opening 5, the two closing elements 33, 34 are closed and by moving the control slide 37 in the direction of the air divider 6, the two closing elements 33, 34 are opened.

[0048] In the second, in Fig. In the exemplary embodiment of the invention shown in Figure 6, slats pivotable about vertical pivot axes or axes perpendicular to the horizontal longitudinal center plane 15 are arranged in the two partial air ducts 9, 10 as air deflection elements 38, which can be pivoted together with an actuator 39. The slats or the air deflection elements 38 can generally also be understood as air control elements. A drive shaft 40 of the actuator 39 for pivoting the air deflection elements 38 passes through the control slide 37 and has a drive disk 41 arranged rigidly on the drive shaft 40 in a radial plane of the drive shaft 40. A fourth control pin 42 projects from the drive disk 41 at a radial distance from the drive shaft 41 and engages with a fourth control cam 43 of the control slide 37.

[0049] Starting from the closed position, the fourth control cam 43 has a short first section that runs at an acute angle to a radial of the drive shaft 40, such that upon rotation of the drive shaft 40, the control slide 37 is displaced in the direction of the air divider 6 and opens the closing elements 33, 34, and upon rotation in the opposite direction, is displaced in the direction of the air outlet opening 5 and closes the closing elements 33, 34. The short first section of the fourth control cam 43 is followed by a circular arc-shaped section concentric with the drive shaft 40. If the fourth control pin 42 is in the open position of the closing elements 33, 34 in the circular arc-shaped section of the fourth control cam 43, a rotation of the drive shaft 40 no longer moves the two closing elements 33, 34 but only pivots the air deflection elements 38 in the two partial air ducts 9, 10 of the air vent 1.

[0050] Air deflection elements 38 in the two partial air ducts 9, 10 can also be the air outlet 1 of the first, in Fig. 1 to 4 illustrated embodiment of the invention (not shown).

[0051] In both exemplary embodiments, in the closed position of the closing elements 13, 14; 33, 34, mutually facing edges of the closing elements 13, 14; 33, 34 abut one another and mutually facing edges of the closing elements 13, 14; 33, 34 abut opposite edges of the air outlet opening 5 in the surface element 2.
