Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for balancing a rotating component of a torque transmission device for a vehicle.

[0002] Typically, balancing weights are pressed onto rotating components of a torque transmission device, so that after pressing, they are firmly connected to the rotating component. This allows any imbalance in the rotating component to be corrected.

[0003] However, after performing the described process, it was discovered that the balancing weights can deform the rotating component during pressing. Furthermore, it was noted that the balancing weight is or will be deformed after pressing compared to its pre-pressing state. This does not completely eliminate the imbalance of the rotating component. Both conditions can lead to a reduced service life of the rotating component and a torque transmission device.

[0004] Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a method for balancing a rotating component of a torque transmission device for a vehicle, which method increases the service life of a balanced rotating component of a torque transmission device for a vehicle in a cost-effective manner.

[0005] This problem is solved by the features of the independent patent claim. Further advantageous developments are the subject of the dependent claims.

[0006] The present invention comprises a method for balancing a rotating component of a torque transmission device for a vehicle. The rotating component can be part of a vibration damper or a torque transmission device, such as a centrifugal pendulum or, for example, a clutch device with two separating disks. Furthermore, the rotating component can be designed, for example, merely as a circular disk, to which, for example, pendulum weights of a centrifugal pendulum to be created can be movably arranged. The method comprises the following steps.

[0007] A first step comprises determining an imbalance of a rotating component of a torque transmission device.

[0008] When determining the unbalance, the center of gravity of the rotating component is determined, as well as a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the axis of rotation of the rotating component. In other words, when determining the unbalance, the center of gravity of the rotating component is determined, as well as a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the geometric center around which the rotating component rotates or is intended to rotate, and which can therefore be located on the axis of rotation of the rotating component, can be determined. When determining the center of gravity of the rotating component, the rotating component can be set in rotation around its axis of rotation or its geometric center by a measuring device, such as a balancing machine. An unbalance can be detected by the action of force from the rotating rotating component, for example on a bearing of the measuring device equipped with sensors.

[0009] A subsequent step involves determining the positions and weights of two or more balancing weights for attachment to the rotating component, thus eliminating the specific imbalance. Once the offset between the rotational axis and the determined center of gravity, or the imbalance, has been determined, the positions and weights for balancing weights on the rotating component can be determined, allowing the center of gravity of the rotating component to be moved or offset toward the rotational axis. This allows for trouble-free operation of a torque transmission device.

[0010] A further method step involves positioning the rotating component together with a first and a second balancing weight on a die of a pressing device. The balancing weights are arranged on the rotating component with their determined weights and at the determined positions. By correctly positioning the balancing weights, the center of gravity of the rotating component can be shifted or relocated to its rotational axis.

[0011] With this in mind, the first and second balancing weights can have the same shaft length, the same shaft diameter, and the same head height, but different head diameters. Using the same head height, balancing weights with different weights can be pressed onto the rotating component using the same pressing device. The shaft, with its shaft length, can be viewed as the part of a balancing weight that adjoins the head of the balancing weight. The head of a balancing weight determines the weight of a balancing weight. The larger the head, the greater the weight. As already mentioned, the first and second balancing weights can have the same shaft diameter. This means that each balancing weight can be attached with its shaft into mounting holes in the rotating component that are standardized or adapted to the shaft diameter of the balancing weights.

[0012] A further step of the method comprises setting a minimum pressing distance between the die of the pressing device and the rotating component resting on the die. In other words, the minimum pressing distance can be determined by the distance between the rotating component or its surface opposite the die and the surface of the die. The minimum pressing distance can also be determined by the distance between the rotating component or its surface opposite the die and a head surface of at least one balancing weight resting on the die.

[0013] The minimum press distance is 94 percent to 99.7 percent of the head height of the balancing weights or the second balancing weight. This minimizes deformation of one or all balancing weights when pressing the balancing weights onto the rotating component. Deformation of the rotating component itself can also be minimized or even prevented.

[0014] The process then involves pressing the balancing weights onto the rotating component. The balancing weights and the rotating component are connected in such a way that they can only be separated by destruction. Logically, the set minimum pressing distance must be observed during the pressing process.

[0015] During pressing, a punch of the pressing device and the die of the pressing device can be brought together to connect or press the balancing weights arranged between them and the rotating component. The punch and die can be brought together until the set minimum pressing distance between the rotating component or its surface opposite the die and a head surface of at least one balancing weight resting on the die is reached.

[0016] The pressing device can then be opened and the rotating component removed.

[0017] The second balancing weight may have a smaller mass than the first. The second balancing weight may also have a smaller head diameter than the first.

[0018] Furthermore, according to one embodiment, the adjusting step can comprise arranging a support device on the die at least at the location of the second balancing weight in order to limit the distance between the rotating component and the die, and thus the deformation of the second balancing weight, to a minimum. In other words, by arranging a support device on the die, the distance between the surface of the rotating component opposite the die and the surface of the die can be adjusted such that the distance between the rotating component and the die, and thus the deformation of the second balancing weight, can be limited to a minimum. The support device can have a height that corresponds to the minimum pressing distance. Thus, the minimum pressing distance can be set.

[0019] The support device can be designed similarly to a circular disk. The support device can also be designed similarly to a hollow cylinder.

[0020] Furthermore, the support device can have a receptacle for a balancing weight within it. The receptacle can have a first and a second section along the height of the support device. The first section can be 80 to 60 percent of the height of the support device or the head height of the balancing weight(s) or a second balancing weight. Furthermore, the second section can be 20 to 40 percent of the height of the support device or the head height of the balancing weight(s) or a second balancing weight.

[0021] The first section can have a larger inner diameter than the second section. This allows the first section to be used to easily insert the balancing weight into the support device. The second section can be used to guide the support device along the balancing weight attached inside. This ensures that the support device is correctly positioned, namely on the balancing weight. It is also possible for the support device to have a uniform outer diameter for the first and second sections. This makes it easy to manufacture the support device because, after separating, for example, a semi-finished product with the correct outer diameter, it only needs to be provided with two holes of different diameters to form the first and second sections. Of course, it is also conceivable for the support device to have a square or polygonal outer side or outer contour.

[0022] In this case, the die can be flat or have a level surface. This allows the support device and balancing weights to be easily positioned at any desired location.

[0023] Furthermore, according to one embodiment, the adjusting step can comprise setting the minimum pressing distance between the die of the pressing device and the rotating component. In other words, by setting the minimum pressing distance, the distance between the surface of the rotating component opposite the die and the surface of the die can be set such that the distance between the rotating component and the die, and thus the deformation of the second balancing weight, can be limited to a minimum.

[0024] During the setting process, the relative distance between the die and the turned component, or their opposing surfaces, can be monitored by a sensor system, such as a camera or a distance sensor. In this case, the die can be flat or have a level surface.

[0025] Furthermore, the current or instantaneous distance between the die and the rotating component or their opposing surfaces can be monitored by a sensor system, which can be connected to a controller that controls the travel path or the movement or movement of the punch and / or the die of the pressing device.

[0026] The control system can be designed to compare the current distance between the die and the rotating component or their opposite surfaces with the minimum pressing distance and, when the minimum pressing distance is reached, to stop the pressing or the movement of the punch and / or the die and / or the closing of the pressing device.

[0027] Furthermore, according to one embodiment, the step of adjusting may comprise arranging a die or a special or specially designed die in the pressing device.

[0028] The die or the special die or the specially designed die can be configured such that a receptacle for a balancing weight is arranged at each location where the balancing weights are to be attached to the rotating component. The depth of the receptacles can correspond to the minimum pressing distance. In other words, the minimum pressing distance can result from the distance between the rotating component or its surface opposite the die and the surface of the receptacle opposite the rotating component or a head surface of at least one balancing weight resting on the die, which can be arranged in the receptacle or resting on the receptacle.

[0029] Each receptacle for a balancing weight can be designed as a recess with a depth corresponding to the minimum pressing distance in a die body, e.g., a solid die body. A receptacle can have a flat surface that ensures a flat, level, or even resting surface for the head of a balancing weight.

[0030] Furthermore, with regard to all the previously explained embodiments, the rotating component can have a plurality of mounting holes for arranging balancing weights. The first and second balancing weights can be positioned in the mounting holes.

[0031] The mounting holes may form a geometric shape or pattern, with the mounting holes being arranged symmetrically to a rotational axis of the rotating component. Furthermore, the mounting holes may have different distances from the rotational axis of the rotating component.

[0032] The mounting holes can be evenly distributed in the circumferential direction of the rotating component. Groups of mounting holes can also be arranged, e.g., evenly distributed, in the circumferential direction of the rotating component. A group can, for example, have two or three or more mounting holes arranged closely to one another, with two groups being spaced further apart than their mounting holes.

[0033] The mounting holes can also be equally spaced from each other. Furthermore, the mounting holes can be equally spaced from each other in the circumferential direction of the rotating component.

[0034] In addition, the pressing device can be designed to rivet the balancing weights to the rotating component in a manner comparable to that of round rivets. For example, on the punch side of the pressing device, a section of the shaft of each balancing weight can be formed into a semicircular head in the pressing device.

[0035] In the following, the inventive concept presented above is expressed again and additionally in other words.

[0036] This idea concerns - in simplified terms - a balancing strategy with two or more different balancing weights or a method for balancing a rotating component of a torque transmission device for a vehicle.

[0037] The balancing weights used in a method for balancing a rotating component of a torque transmission device can all have the same rivet shank length and diameter. However, to achieve different weights, they can have different rivet head diameters.

[0038] Against this background, riveting can be performed using a support sleeve / support ring or a support device. The support device can have a height that corresponds to a minimum press clearance. Furthermore, the minimum press clearance can be determined by the distance between the rotating component and the head surface of a balancing weight resting on the die of a press device.

[0039] In this way, settling of the head of the balancing weight, e.g. the balancing weight with a lower weight, can be avoided.

[0040] The invention is explained in more detail below using exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The drawings schematically show: Fig. 1 is a plan view of a torque transmission device for a vehicle with a rotating component; Fig. 2A and Fig. 2B is a sectional view of a first and second balancing weight for balancing the rotating component of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 a sectional view of a pressing device with a rotating component and balancing weights according to a first embodiment of a method for balancing a rotating component; Fig. 4 a spatial view of the support device Fig. 3; Fig. 5 a spatial view of the rotating component, the balancing weights and the support device from the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4; Fig. 6 a sectional view of a pressing device with a rotating component and balancing weights according to a second embodiment of a method for balancing a rotating component; and Fig. 7 a sectional view of a pressing device with a rotating component and balancing weights according to a third embodiment of a method for balancing a rotating component.

[0041] In the following description, the same reference symbols are used for the same items.

[0042] Fig. 1 shows a plan view of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle with a rotating component 1.

[0043] Shown in more detail Fig. 1, the rotating component 1 is a component of a vibration damper 20 or a torque transmission device 20, such as a centrifugal pendulum. The rotating component 1 is designed as a circular disk.

[0044] In addition, Fig. 1 that the rotating component 1 has a plurality of mounting holes 18 for arranging balancing weights 2, 3, in which a first and second balancing weight 2, 3 is positioned.

[0045] The mounting holes 18 form a geometric shape or pattern, wherein the mounting holes 18 are arranged symmetrically to a rotational axis D of the rotating component 1. Furthermore, the mounting holes 18 are arranged in the circumferential direction U of the rotating component 1.

[0046] Groups 19 of mounting holes 18 are also arranged in the circumferential direction U of the rotating component 1. For example, a group 19 has two mounting holes 18 arranged close to one another. Strictly speaking, two groups 19 are shown that are spaced further apart than their mounting holes 18.

[0047] Furthermore, Fig. 1, that the torque transmission device 20 comprises pendulum masses 21 with which torsional vibrations of a drive train can be reduced.

[0048] Fig. 2A and Fig. 2B show a sectional view of a first and second balancing weight 2, 3 for balancing the rotating component 1 from Fig. 1.

[0049] Each balancing weight 2, 3 has the same shaft length SL, the same shaft diameter SD and the same head height KH, but different head diameters KD.

[0050] By using the same head height KH, the balancing weights 2, 3 with different weights can be pressed onto the rotating component 1 on the same pressing device 4. The shaft, with its shaft length SL, is the part of a balancing weight that adjoins the head of the balancing weight. The head of a balancing weight 2, 3 determines its weight. The larger the head, the greater the weight. As already mentioned, the first and second balancing weights 2, 3 have the same shaft diameter SD. Thus, each balancing weight 2, 3 can be attached with its shaft into mounting holes 18 in the rotating component 1 that are standardized or adapted to the shaft diameter of the balancing weights.

[0051] The above statements concerning the Fig. 1 to 2B are applicable to all subsequent embodiments.

[0052] Fig. 3 shows a sectional view of a pressing device 4 with a rotating component 1 and balancing weights 2, 3 according to a first embodiment of a method for balancing a rotating component 1.

[0053] Strictly speaking, Fig. 3 shows part of a method for balancing a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle.

[0054] The method for balancing a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle comprises the following steps.

[0055] A first step comprises determining an imbalance of a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20.

[0056] When determining the unbalance, a center of gravity of the rotating component 1 is determined as well as a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the rotational axis D of the rotating component 1 (cf. Fig. 1). In other words, when determining the unbalance, a center of gravity of the rotating component 1 is determined, as well as a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the geometric center around which the rotating component 1 rotates and which is arranged on the axis of rotation D of the rotating component 1. When determining the center of gravity of the rotating component 1, the rotating component 1 can be set in rotation about its axis of rotation D or its geometric center by a measuring device, such as a balancing machine, for example. The unbalance can be detected by the force exerted by the rotating rotating component 1, for example on a bearing of the measuring device equipped with sensors.

[0057] A subsequent step comprises determining positions and weights of two or more balancing weights 2, 3 for attachment to the rotating component 1 and thus for eliminating the determined imbalance.

[0058] After the offset between the rotational axis D and the determined center of gravity or the imbalance has been determined, the positions and weights for the balancing weights 2, 3 to be attached to the rotating component 1 can be determined so that the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 can be moved or shifted to the rotational axis D.

[0059] The rotating component 1 is then positioned together with a first and a second balancing weight 2, 3 on a die 5 of a pressing device 4. In the present case, the die 5 is flat.

[0060] The balancing weights 2, 3 are arranged with their determined weights and at the determined positions on the rotating component 1. As already mentioned, the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 can be shifted or relocated to its rotational axis D by correctly arranging the balancing weights 2, 3.

[0061] As already described, the first and second balancing weights 2, 3 have the same shaft length SL, the same shaft diameter SD and the same head height KH, but different head diameters KD.

[0062] By using the same head height KH, the balancing weights 2, 3 with different weights can be pressed onto the rotating component 1 on the same pressing device 4. The shaft with its shaft length SL is part of a balancing weight 2, 3, which is connected to the head of the balancing weight 2, 3. The head of a balancing weight 2, 3 determines the weight of a balancing weight. The larger the head, the greater the weight. As already mentioned, the first and second balancing weights 2, 3 have the same shaft diameter SD. Thus, each balancing weight 2, 3 can be attached with its shaft into mounting holes 18 in the rotating component 1, either standardized or adapted to the shaft diameter SD of the balancing weights 2, 3.

[0063] As a further subsequent step, the method comprises setting a minimum pressing distance 7 between the die 5 of the pressing device 4 and the rotating component 1 resting on the die 5.

[0064] In concrete terms, the minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and the surface of the die 5. In other words, the minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and a head surface of at least one balancing weight 2, 3 resting on the die 5.

[0065] The minimum pressing distance 7 is 94 percent to 99.7 percent of the head height KH of the balancing weights 2, 3 or the second balancing weight 3. This can minimize or even prevent deformation of all balancing weights 2, 3 when pressing the balancing weights 2, 3 with the rotating component 1.

[0066] The process then includes a step of pressing the balancing weights 2, 3 onto the rotating component 1. The balancing weights 2, 3 and the rotating component 1 are connected in such a way that they can only be separated by destruction. Logically, the set minimum pressing distance 7 must be taken into account during the pressing process.

[0067] During pressing, a punch 6 of the pressing device 4 and the die 5 of the pressing device 4 are brought together to connect or press together the balancing weights 2, 3 arranged therebetween and the rotating component 1. The punch 6 and die 5 are brought together until the set minimum pressing distance 7 between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and a head surface of a balancing weight 2, 3 resting on the die 5 is reached.

[0068] The pressing device 4 is then opened and the rotating component 1 is removed.

[0069] In the present case and according to Fig. 3, the second balancing weight 3 has a smaller mass than the first two balancing weights 2. The second balancing weight 3 has a smaller head diameter KD than the first two balancing weights 2.

[0070] With a view to Fig. 3, it can be stated that the adjustment step comprises arranging a support device 8 on the die 5 at the location of the second balancing weight 3 in order to limit the distance between the rotating component 1 and the die 5, and thereby the deformation of the second balancing weight 3, to a minimum. In other words, by arranging a support device 8 on the die 5, the distance between the surface of the rotating component 1 opposite the die 5 and the surface of the die 5 can be adjusted such that the distance between the rotating component 1 and the die 5, and thereby the deformation of the second balancing weight 3 and also of the first balancing weights 2, can be limited to a minimum. The support device 8 has a height H that corresponds to the minimum pressing distance 7.

[0071] Fig. 4 shows a spatial view of the support device 8 from Fig. 3.

[0072] The support device 7 is designed similarly to a circular disc or similarly to a hollow cylinder.

[0073] In this case - cf. Fig. 3 - the support device 8 has a receptacle 9 for a balancing weight 3 within it. The receptacle 9 comprises a first and a second section 10, 11 along the height H of the support device 8 (cf. Fig. 3).

[0074] Here, the first section 10 has 70 percent of the height H of the support device 8 or the head height KH of the balancing weights 2, 3 or the second balancing weight 3.

[0075] In addition, the second section 11 has 30 percent of the height H of the support device 8 or the head height KH of the balancing weights 2, 3 or the second balancing weight 3.

[0076] Out of Fig. Figure 3 further shows that the first section 10 has a larger inner diameter 12 than the second section 11 (inner diameter 13 of the second section 11). Thus, the first section 10 serves to easily insert the balancing weight 3 into the support device 8. The second section 11, on the other hand, serves to guide the support device 8 on the balancing weight 3 mounted inside. This ensures the correct position of the support device 8 on the balancing weight 3.

[0077] Furthermore, Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, that the support device 8 has a uniform outer diameter for the first and second sections 10, 11. Thus, the support device 8 can be easily manufactured, since after separating, for example, a semi-finished product with the correct outer diameter, it only needs to be provided with two holes of different diameters to form the first and second sections 10, 11. Of course, it is also conceivable for the support device 8 to have a square or polygonal outer surface or outer contour.

[0078] Fig. 5 shows a spatial view of the rotating component 1, the balancing weights 2, 3 and the support device 8 from the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4.

[0079] Fig. 6 shows a sectional view of a pressing device 4 with rotating component 1 and balancing weights 2, 3 according to a second embodiment of a method for balancing a rotating component 1.

[0080] Specifically described shows Fig. 6 shows part of a method for balancing a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle.

[0081] The method for balancing a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle comprises the following steps.

[0082] A first step comprises determining an imbalance of a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20.

[0083] When determining the unbalance, a center of gravity of the rotating component 1 is determined and a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the rotational axis D of the rotating component 1 is determined (cf. Fig. 1). In other words, when determining the imbalance, the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 is determined, as well as a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the geometric center around which the rotating component 1 rotates and which is located on the axis of rotation D of the rotating component 1. When determining the center of gravity of the rotating component 1, the rotating component 1 can be set in rotation about its axis of rotation D or its geometric center by a measuring device, such as a balancing machine. The imbalance can be detected by the force exerted by the rotating rotating component 1, for example, on a bearing of the measuring device equipped with sensors.

[0084] A subsequent step comprises determining positions and weights of two or more balancing weights 2, 3 for attachment to the rotating component 1 and thus for eliminating the determined imbalance.

[0085] After the offset between the rotational axis D and the determined center of gravity or the imbalance has been determined, the positions and weights for the balancing weights 2, 3 to be attached to the rotating component 1 can be determined so that the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 can be moved or shifted to the rotational axis D.

[0086] The rotating component 1 is then positioned together with a first and a second balancing weight 2, 3 on a die 5 of a pressing device 4. In the present case, the die 5 is flat.

[0087] The balancing weights 2, 3 are arranged with their determined weights and at the determined positions on the rotating component 1. By correctly arranging the balancing weights 2, 3, the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 can be shifted or relocated to its rotational axis D.

[0088] As already mentioned, the first and second balancing weights 2, 3 have the same shaft length SL, the same shaft diameter SD and the same head height KH, but different head diameters KD.

[0089] By using the same head height KH, the balancing weights 2, 3 with different weights can be pressed onto the rotating component 1 on the same pressing device 4.

[0090] As a further subsequent step, the method comprises setting a minimum pressing distance 7 between the die 5 of the pressing device 4 and the rotating component 1 resting on the die 5.

[0091] In concrete terms, the minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and the surface of the die 5. In other words, the minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and a head surface of at least one balancing weight 2, 3 resting on the die 5.

[0092] The minimum pressing distance 7 is 94 percent to 99.7 percent of the head height KH of the balancing weights 2, 3 or the second balancing weight 3. This can minimize or even prevent deformation of all balancing weights 2, 3 when pressing the balancing weights 2, 3 with the rotating component 1.

[0093] The process then includes a step of pressing the balancing weights 2, 3 onto the rotating component 1. The balancing weights 2, 3 and the rotating component 1 are connected in such a way that they can only be separated by destruction. Logically, the set minimum pressing distance 7 must be taken into account during the pressing process.

[0094] During pressing, a punch 6 of the pressing device 4 and the die 5 of the pressing device 4 are brought together to connect or press together the balancing weights 2, 3 arranged therebetween and the rotating component 1. The punch 6 and die 5 are brought together until the set minimum pressing distance 7 between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and a head surface of a balancing weight 2, 3 resting on the die 5 is reached.

[0095] In the present case and in accordance with Fig. 6, the second balancing weight 3 has a smaller mass than the first two balancing weights 2. The second balancing weight 3 has a smaller head diameter KD than the first two balancing weights 2.

[0096] With a view to Fig. 6, it can be noted that the adjustment step comprises setting the minimum pressing distance 7 between the die 5 of the pressing device 4 and the rotating component 1. In other words, by setting the minimum pressing distance 7, the distance between the surface of the rotating component 1 opposite the die 5 and the surface of the die 5 can be set such that the distance between the rotating component 1 and the die 5, and thus the deformation of the second balancing weight 3 and also of the first balancing weights 2, can be limited to a minimum.

[0097] During the setting process, the relative distance between die 5 and rotating component 1, or their opposing surfaces, is monitored by a sensor system 14, such as a camera or a distance sensor. In this case, die 5 is flat.

[0098] The current or instantaneous distance between the die 5 and the rotating component 1 or their opposite surfaces is therefore monitored by the sensor system 14, which is connected to a control system (not shown) which controls the travel path or the movement or movement of the punch 6 of the pressing device 4.

[0099] The control 16 is designed to compare the current distance between the die 5 and the rotating component 1 or their opposite surfaces with the minimum pressing distance 7 and to stop the pressing or the movement of the punch 6 or the closing of the pressing device 4 when the minimum pressing distance 7 is reached.

[0100] The pressing device 4 is then opened and the rotating component 1 is removed.

[0101] Fig. 7 shows a sectional view of a pressing device 4 with rotating component 1 and balancing weights 2, 3 according to a third embodiment of a method for balancing a rotating component 1.

[0102] Strictly speaking, Fig. 7 shows part of a method for balancing a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle.

[0103] The method for balancing a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20 for a vehicle comprises the following steps.

[0104] A first step comprises determining an imbalance of a rotating component 1 of a torque transmission device 20.

[0105] When determining the unbalance, a center of gravity of the rotating component 1 is determined and a deviation between the determined center of gravity and the rotational axis D of the rotating component 1 is determined (cf. Fig.

[0106] A subsequent step comprises determining positions and weights of two or more balancing weights 2, 3 for attachment to the rotating component 1 and thus for eliminating the determined imbalance.

[0107] After the offset between the rotational axis D and the determined center of gravity or the imbalance has been determined, the positions and weights for the balancing weights 2, 3 to be attached to the rotating component 1 can be determined so that the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 can be moved or shifted to the rotational axis D.

[0108] The rotating component 1 is then positioned together with a first and a second balancing weight 2, 3 on a die 5 of a pressing device 4.

[0109] The balancing weights 2, 3 are arranged with their determined weights and at the determined positions on the rotating component 1. By correctly arranging the balancing weights 2, 3, the center of gravity of the rotating component 1 can be shifted or relocated to its rotational axis D.

[0110] As already mentioned, the first and second balancing weights 2, 3 have the same shaft length SL, the same shaft diameter SD and the same head height KH, but different head diameters KD.

[0111] By using the same head height KH, the balancing weights 2, 3 with different weights can be pressed onto the rotating component 1 on the same pressing device 4.

[0112] As a further subsequent step, the method comprises setting a minimum pressing distance 7 between the die 5 of the pressing device 4 and the rotating component 1 resting on the die 5.

[0113] In concrete terms, the minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and the surface of the die 5. In other words, the minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and a head surface of at least one balancing weight 2, 3 resting on the die 5.

[0114] The minimum pressing distance 7 is 94 percent to 99.7 percent of the head height KH of the balancing weights 2, 3 or the second balancing weight 3. This can minimize or even prevent deformation of all balancing weights 2, 3 when pressing the balancing weights 2, 3 with the rotating component 1.

[0115] The process then includes a step of pressing the balancing weights 2, 3 onto the rotating component 1. The balancing weights 2, 3 and the rotating component 1 are connected in such a way that they can only be separated by destruction. Logically, the set minimum pressing distance 7 must be taken into account during the pressing process.

[0116] During pressing, a punch 6 of the pressing device 4 and the die 5 of the pressing device 4 are brought together to connect or press together the balancing weights 2, 3 arranged therebetween and the rotating component 1. The punch 6 and die 5 are brought together until the set minimum pressing distance 7 between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and a head surface of a balancing weight 2, 3 resting on the die 5 is reached.

[0117] The pressing device 4 is then opened and the rotating component 1 is removed.

[0118] In the present case and according to Fig. 7, the second balancing weight 3 has a smaller mass than the first two balancing weights 2. The second balancing weight 3 has a smaller head diameter KD than the first two balancing weights 2.

[0119] This shows Fig.7 shows that the step of adjusting comprises arranging a die 5 or a special or specially designed die 5 in the pressing device 4.

[0120] The die 5 is designed such that a receptacle 15, 16, 17 for a balancing weight 2, 3 is arranged at each of the locations of the balancing weights 2, 3 to be attached to the rotating component 1. The depth T of the receptacles 15, 16, 17 corresponds to the minimum pressing distance 7. The minimum pressing distance 7 results from the distance between the rotating component 1 or its surface opposite the die 5 and the surface of the receptacle 15, 16, 17 opposite the rotating component 1 or a head surface of a balancing weight 3 resting on the die 5, which is arranged in the receptacle 16.

[0121] Each receptacle 15, 16, 17 for a balancing weight is further configured as a recess in a solid die body with a depth T corresponding to the minimum pressing distance 7. Each receptacle 15, 16, 17 has a flat surface that ensures that the head of a balancing weight 2, 3 rests flatly thereon.
