Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a cylindrical roller bearing.
[0002] Ball bearings are known for their compactness, low friction, and ease of installation. However, the dynamic load carrying capacity of ball bearings is limited compared to cylindrical roller bearings. On the other hand, cylindrical roller bearings are preferred for supporting higher loads due to their larger contact area and better load distribution.
[0003] There is currently a demand for bearings that fall in the middle range of dynamic load ratings between ball bearings and cylindrical roller bearings. Ball bearings typically offer a dynamic load rating of around 10 kN, while cylindrical roller bearings have a higher dynamic load rating of around 20 kN.
[0004] The bearing should offer higher power density and stiffness without changing the overall dimensions of the bearing. Power density refers to the bearing's ability to support higher loads relative to its size and weight, while stiffness ensures that the bearing can resist deformation under load, thus ensuring stability and precision in machine operation.
[0005] The invention is therefore based on the problem of providing a correspondingly efficient bearing.
[0006] To solve the problem, according to the invention, a cylindrical roller bearing is provided, consisting of an outer ring with two radially inwardly projecting edge shoulders, an inner ring with two outwardly projecting edge shoulders, and a plurality of cylindrical rollers guided in a cage and axially guided on the edge shoulders, wherein the cage consists of two annular cage parts which are permanently fastened to one another and on which separate pockets are formed, each accommodating a cylindrical roller.
[0007] The cylindrical roller bearing according to the invention consists of two stable rings made of steel, an outer ring and an inner ring. Both have two radially projecting edge shoulders at their ends, with the edge shoulders of the outer ring projecting radially inwards and those of the inner ring projecting radially outwards. The edge shoulders form axial thrust shoulders or thrust collars for cylindrical rollers, which abut against them with their end faces or are also axially guided. The cylindrical rollers themselves are accommodated in a cage, with the cage itself consisting of two annular cage parts that are put together to form the one-piece cage, i.e. the cage parts are permanently fastened to one another. The cage has a corresponding number of pockets, each of which accommodates a cylindrical roller, so that the individual cylindrical rollers are also spaced and guided in a defined manner in the circumferential direction via the respective pockets.
[0008] The cylindrical roller bearing according to the invention is not disassemblable as a whole, since the edge shoulders are provided on the corresponding rings, and since the cage itself is a one-piece component, meaning it cannot be disassembled. This means that the bearing components are firmly secured to one another, so that there is no risk of the bearing coming loose or opening during operation, even under high loads or vibrations. Since the cylindrical rollers are held and guided in their circumferential position via the pockets, an even roller distribution around the circumference is ensured, which guarantees a high degree of stability and smooth running, since the load is evenly distributed across all cylindrical rollers. The number of cylindrical rollers must be designed accordingly, i.e., defined depending on the desired application, after which the appropriate cage design must be determined. An optimal ratio between bearing load capacity and bearing size can be achieved by selecting the number of cylindrical rollers.
[0009] The bearing according to the invention can therefore be designed specifically with regard to the load rating, so that it can also be designed for the range of medium dynamic load ratings, which in particular correspond to the range of dynamic load ratings of ball bearings and close the gap to known cylindrical roller bearings, which is not possible with previous cylindrical roller bearings.
[0010] A central element is the provided, non-separated cage, which consists of two annular cage parts. The two annular cage parts are preferably mirror-symmetrical to one another, i.e., a defined parting plane runs in the axial center of the cage. The corresponding half-structures, over which the pockets closed in the assembled position are formed, are provided on each cage part, i.e., on each cage half. The two mirror-symmetrical cage parts are therefore joined axially during assembly, with the cylindrical rollers being inserted into the resulting pockets.
[0011] Preferably, the cage parts are secured to one another by means of a riveted connection, i.e. they are riveted together axially, which creates an extremely strong and permanent connection that can withstand even the highest loads during operation.
[0012] To easily implement this riveted connection, a first alternative can be provided on one cage part with a protruding rivet pin and on the other cage part with a recess through which the rivet pin extends, behind which the rivet pin is deformed. This means that the elements through which the rivet connection is formed are provided directly on the cage parts themselves, so no separate rivet elements are required. Naturally, several rivet pins and corresponding recesses are provided around the circumference of the cage parts. For assembly, the cage parts are simply moved axially against one another so that the rivet pins engage in and through the recesses. After this, the ends of the rivet pins are plastically deformed using a suitable tool, forming the riveted connection.
[0013] Alternatively, the riveted connection can also be formed using a separate rivet that is guided and riveted through two aligned recesses on both cage parts. In this case, the connecting components are not provided directly on the cage parts, as described in the first alternative. Rather, only the recesses are provided on the cage parts, and a separate rivet is placed for each riveted connection to be formed. In this case, the cage parts can be designed identically.
[0014] The cage components are preferably made of steel, as are the cylindrical rollers and the outer and inner rings. Such a steel cage offers a high degree of stability, which is beneficial to the bearing properties. Naturally, stainless steel is preferred for all steel parts.
[0015] For easy production of the respective cage part, it is preferably made from a steel strip that can be formed accordingly in order to form the corresponding structures to be formed on the respective cage part.
[0016] The invention is explained below using exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. The drawings are schematic representations and show: Fig. 1 an exploded view of a cylindrical roller bearing according to the invention, and Fig. 2 the cylindrical roller bearing, partially cut open.
[0017] Fig. Figure 1 shows an exploded view of a cylindrical roller bearing 1 according to the invention. This consists of an outer ring 2, on which two radially inwardly projecting, axially terminal edge shoulders 3 are formed, which axially define an outer raceway 4 for cylindrical rollers. Also provided is an inner ring 5, which has two radially outwardly projecting edge shoulders 6, which axially define an inner raceway 7 for cylindrical rollers between them.
[0018] Furthermore, a defined number of cylindrical rollers 8 are naturally provided, which are accommodated in a cage 9 formed from two separate cage parts 10a, 10b made from a steel strip. The two cage parts 10a, 10b are each mirror-symmetrical in terms of their geometry. Corresponding pocket structures 11a, 11b are provided on each cage part 10a, 10b, which, when the cage 9 is assembled by joining the two cage parts 10a, 10b, each form a pocket 12 in which a cylindrical roller 8 is accommodated. The quasi-rectangular pocket structures 10a, 10b are each connected to one another via connecting webs 13a, 13b. A rivet pin 14 is provided on each connecting web 13a and a recess 15 is provided on each connecting web 13b, through which the rivet pins 14 pass during assembly, i.e. when the two cage parts 10a, 10b are pushed axially against one another. In the assembled position, the rivet pins 14 are deformed with the pin end penetrating the recesses 15, forming corresponding rivet heads 16, thus creating a corresponding, non-detachable connection. The corresponding assembly situation is shown in . Fig. 2 shown.
[0019] How Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the individual cylindrical rollers 8 are each accommodated in a pocket 12, each formed by two pocket structures 11a, 11b. The connecting webs 13a, 13b each lie axially flat against one another; the corresponding riveted joints are formed in these areas, as described.
[0020] The diameter of the cage 9 is dimensioned such that it is arranged between the radially opposite edge shoulders 3 of the outer ring 2 and the edge shoulders 6 of the inner ring 5, wherein the cylindrical rollers 8 are guided axially on the edge shoulders 3, 6.
[0021] In the assembled position, the cylindrical roller bearing 1 according to the invention is non-detachable, meaning that its components cannot separate from one another due to operational reasons. This is because the cage 9 is non-detachable, meaning that the cage parts 10a, 10b cannot separate from one another, and consequently, the pockets 12 always remain axially closed and the cylindrical rollers 8 are fixed. The axial fixation of the cylindrical rollers via the edge shoulders 3, 6 ultimately results in the complete non-detachability of the compact cylindrical roller bearing 1.
