Description

[0001] The present invention relates to an interior door panel for a motor vehicle with a receiving compartment security device according to claim 1 and to a motor vehicle equipped therewith according to claim 4.

[0002] The basic design of interior door panels for motor vehicles is known, for example, from DE 101 33 421 B4, DE 10 2022 108 220 A1, DE 10 2023 103 110 A1, DE 10 2006 044 811 A1 and DE 10 2019 133 551 A1. As is particularly evident from the last-mentioned document, an interior door panel has a front, a side, and a bottom, which together form a receiving space. This can, in particular, function as a so-called map pocket.

[0003] The object of the present invention is to provide an interior door panel for a motor vehicle which, in the event of a side crash of a suitably equipped motor vehicle, is even safer than those known from the prior art.

[0004] This problem is solved by an interior door panel for a motor vehicle with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are contained in the dependent claims.

[0005] Specifically, the aforementioned task is accomplished by an interior door panel with a receiving area formed on a base support, comprising a front, a side, and a bottom, by the fact that at least one retaining tab is located on at least one section of the side surface, at least partially covering the receiving area. This retaining tab is designed to hold the side surface in the event of accidental detachment. In other words, the retaining tab is designed such that the side surface does not detach from the rest of the interior door panel in a side impact, thus providing a retaining mechanism for the receiving area. This advantageously reduces or even completely prevents the uncontrolled detachment or separation of the components forming the receiving area from the interior door panel.

[0006] According to a preferred embodiment, the retaining tab is located on both the front and side surfaces when the latter is detached from the door panel. This advantageously reduces or even completely avoids the previously described uncontrolled separation. Furthermore, the retaining tab is positioned in such a way that it at least partially covers the receiving area in the event of a crash, acting as a kind of roof and thus reinforcing the structure.

[0007] According to a preferred embodiment, the retaining tab of the door inner panel according to the invention is elastically designed in at least one section. This results in a door inner panel that is comparatively easy to manufacture.

[0008] The aforementioned problem is also solved by a motor vehicle with at least one interior door panel of the type previously disclosed. The aforementioned advantages apply accordingly.

[0009] The following is a detailed, non-prejudicative, and in particular limiting, description of an embodiment of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawing. Identical elements are designated with identical reference numerals unless otherwise indicated. Fig. Figure 1 is a simplified side view of a motor vehicle equipped with a door interior panel according to the invention. Fig. Figure 2 is a simplified sectional view of an interior door panel according to the invention in an accident-free situation. Fig. Figure 3 is a simplified representation of the door interior trim according to... Fig. 1 after a side impact.

[0010] In Fig. Figure 1 is a symbolically represented motor vehicle 1 with a similarly symbolically represented vehicle door 5 shown in a simplified side view. According to the chosen representation, the vehicle door 5 is a passenger door of a left-hand drive motor vehicle 1. An interior door panel 10 is attached to the vehicle door 5 in a manner known per se to a partially depicted base support 15. The interior door panel 10 has an armrest 20 and a receiving area 25, which in the front area of the interior door panel 10 is formed by a front surface 30, a side surface 35, and a base 40. The receiving area 25, which can also be referred to as a map pocket, is accessible from the vehicle interior through a recess 45. In the Fig. 1. On the upper side shown on the left, adjacent to the armrest 20, the recording space 25 is covered by a retaining tab 50.

[0011] In Fig. 2 is part of the in Fig. The sketched objects along section A - A are shown in a simplified sectional view, in which, for the sake of clarity, a representation of the vehicle door 5 has been omitted. As the Fig. As can be seen from Figure 2, the retaining tab 50 of the illustrated embodiment has a first part 55 covering the receiving space 25, a second part 60 adjoining this, which, according to the selected view, is essentially in the form of a horizontal J, and a third part 65 projecting from this towards the base support 15, which is attached to the base support 15 by means of a fastening element 70, shown here symbolically. The retaining tab 50 is made of an elastic material, e.g., plastic. The first part 55 is attached at one end to the side surface 35.

[0012] In the Fig. 1 and Fig. Figure 2 depicts motor vehicle 1 in an accident-free situation. Fig. 3. The motor vehicle 1 is now, according to the representation of the Fig. Figure 2 shows a side-impact collision, as symbolized by arrow I. In this case, the side surface 35 and the base 40 move in the direction of the crash and detach from the vehicle door 5, but their structural integrity is maintained due to the retaining tab 50, since neither the first part 50 detaches from the side surface 35 nor the third part 65 detaches from the base support 15. Rather, the geometry of the second part 60 changes in such a way that the receiving space 25 remains covered by the retaining tab 50.
