Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a grommet and a vehicle having the same, and in particular to a grommet suitable for use in various vehicle types and a vehicle having the same.
[0002] Generally, various electrical components are installed in a vehicle and electrically connected to each other by cables.
[0003] The cables can be installed while passing through a panel, door, or the like in the vehicle. In this case, fitting holes through which the cables can pass are formed in the panel or door. A grommet is installed in the fitting hole to protect and seal the cable.
[0004] According to the state of the art, grommets are newly developed and used in vehicles, taking into account designs (e.g., a degree of opening of a door with respect to a vehicle body, a position of a fitting opening, or the like) of the vehicle.
[0005] However, in the case where the grommet is newly developed and used every time the design of the vehicle is changed, a problem arises in that the investment cost of the vehicle and the product development cost are increased.
[0006] The invention provides a bushing suitable for use in various vehicle designs and a vehicle having the same.
[0007] A grommet (e.g., a grommet) according to an embodiment of the invention may include a hollow body portion configured to be penetrated by a cable (e.g., a wire, e.g., a line), a first mounting portion formed at one end of the body portion, a second mounting portion formed at the other end of the body portion, a deformable portion configured to connect the first mounting portion and the second mounting portion to each other and to allow deformation of the body portion, and at least one length adjusting portion formed on the body portion and configured to allow a change in the length of the body portion.
[0008] In some embodiments, the deformable portion may be formed in a bellows shape.
[0009] In some embodiments, the length adjusting portion may include a variable portion configured to be adjusted in length by an external force, and a fixing unit configured to fix the variable portion at the adjusted length.
[0010] In some embodiments, the variable portion may be formed in a bellows shape.
[0011] In some embodiments, the fixing unit may include a first fixing protrusion formed on a side of the variable portion and a band (e.g., a strip) configured to be selectively coupled to the first fixing protrusion to fix a length of the variable portion.
[0012] In some embodiments, a plurality of first fixing openings may be formed in the band and separably (e.g., detachably) coupled to the first fixing projection.
[0013] In some embodiments, the fixing unit may further include a second fixing projection formed on the other side of the variable portion and detachably (e.g., releasably) coupled to the belt.
[0014] In some embodiments, a second fixing opening may be formed in the band and separably (e.g., detachably) coupled to the second fixing projection.
[0015] In some embodiments, the band may extend from one end of the deformable portion.
[0016] In some embodiments, the length adjustment portions may be formed on two opposite sides of the deformable portion, respectively.
[0017] A vehicle according to another embodiment may include a first mounting portion configured to be fixed to any one of a vehicle body and a door, a second mounting portion configured to be fixed to the other of the vehicle body and the door, a hollow body portion configured to connect the first mounting portion and the second mounting portion to each other and penetrated by a cable (e.g., a wire, e.g., a conduit), a deformable portion configured to allow deformation of the body portion, and a length adjusting portion configured to allow change in the length of the body portion.
[0018] In some embodiments, the deformable portion may be formed in a bellows shape.
[0019] In some embodiments, the length adjusting portion may include a variable portion configured to be adjusted in length by an external force, a first fixing protrusion formed on one side of the variable portion, a second fixing protrusion formed on the other side of the variable portion, and a band (e.g., a wire, e.g., a lead) having a plurality of first fixing openings detachably (e.g., releasably) coupled to the first fixing protrusion and a second fixing opening detachably (e.g., releasably) coupled to the second fixing protrusion.
[0020] In some embodiments, the plurality of first fixing openings may be formed in a longitudinal direction of the variable portion.
[0021] In some embodiments, the first fixation opening may be formed in a distal portion of a part of the body portion to which the band is fixed, and the second fixation opening may be formed in a proximal portion of the part of the body portion to which the band is fixed.
[0022] In some embodiments, the first fixing protrusion may be formed on the distal portion of the part of the body portion to which the band is fixed, and the second fixing protrusion may be formed on the proximal portion of the part of the body portion to which the band is fixed.
[0023] In some embodiments, the length adjustment portions may be formed on two opposite sides of the deformable portion, respectively.
[0024] According to the embodiment, the length of the variable portion of the grommet is adjusted, and the variable portion with the adjusted length is fixed by the fixing projection and the fixing opening of the band, so that the grommet according to the embodiment can be used in various types of vehicles.
[0025] In addition, since the grommet can be used on different vehicle types, it is not necessary to manufacture new grommets separately depending on the vehicle types, which can reduce separate material costs and mold costs.
[0026] In addition, since the band is fixedly installed on a part of the body (e.g., the body section), the rigidity of the grommet body can be enhanced at the same time when the length of the grommet body is adjusted.

[0039] Hereinafter, a grommet according to an embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0040] The Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 are perspective views of a configuration of a grommet according to an embodiment. Furthermore, the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 perspective views of a grommet configuration according to another embodiment.
[0041] As in the Fig. 1 to 4, the grommet according to the embodiment may include a hollow body portion 10, first and second mounting portions 20 and 30 formed on the body portion 10, a deformable portion 40 configured to allow deformation of the body portion 10, and a length adjusting portion 500 configured to allow a change in the length of the body portion 10.
[0042] The inside of the body portion 10 may be completely hollow so that a cable passes through the inside of the body portion 10. For example, a channel may be formed in the body portion 10 so that the cable can pass through the body portion 10. The body portion 10 may be formed in an approximately cylindrical shape.
[0043] The first mounting portion 20 may be formed at one end of the body portion 10 and fixed to a vehicle body of a vehicle. A center of the first mounting portion 20 may be open so that the cable passing through the body portion 110 can extend to the outside of the first mounting portion 20.
[0044] The second mounting portion 30 may be formed at the other end of the body portion 10 and fixed to a door of the vehicle. A center of the second mounting portion 30 may be open so that the cable passing through the body portion 10 can extend to the outside of the second mounting portion 30.
[0045] The deformable portion 40 may be formed at an approximately central portion of the body portion 10 and formed in a bellows shape so that it is possible for the body portion 10 to be deformed by an external force.
[0046] The length adjustment section 500 may be configured to adjust a total length of the grommet according to an external force (or an intention) of the user, and may include a variable section 510 configured to be adjusted in length by an external force, and a fixing unit 520 configured to fix the variable section 510 at the adjusted length.
[0047] The variable portion 510 may be formed in a bellows shape so that the length of the variable portion 510 can be adjusted.
[0048] The fixing unit 520 may include a first fixing protrusion 530 formed on one side of the variable portion 510, a second fixing protrusion 540 formed on the other side of the variable portion 510, and a band 550 configured to be selectively coupled to the first fixing protrusion 530 and the second fixing protrusion 540 to fix a length of the variable portion 510.
[0049] The fixing unit 520 may be provided on at least one side of the variable portion 510. In the embodiment, the fixing units 520 may be provided on two opposite sides of the variable portion 510. The fixing units 520 may be provided to face each other based on the variable portion 510.
[0050] A first fixing opening 551 detachably coupled to the first fixing projection 530 and a second fixing opening 552 detachably coupled to the second fixing projection 540 may be formed in the band 550 so that the band 550 may be coupled to the first fixing projection 530 and the second fixing projection 540.
[0051] The band 550 may extend from one end of the variable section 510. That is, one end of the band 550 may be fixed to the end of the variable section 510, and the other end of the band 550 may be configured as a free end. The band 550 may be made of an elastically deformable material.
[0052] The first fixing protrusion 530 may be formed on a distal portion of a part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed, and the second fixing protrusion 540 may be formed on a proximal portion of the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed.
[0053] That is, a first invariable portion 510 that does not change in length may be formed between the deformable portion 40 and the variable portion 510, and the first fixing protrusion 530 may be formed on the first invariable portion 510. Further, a second invariable portion 510 that does not change in length may be formed between the variable portion 510 and the first mounting portion 20, and the second fixing protrusion 540 may be formed on the second invariable portion 510.
[0054] The first fixing protrusion 530 and the second fixing protrusion 540 may be formed in the same shape. The first fixing protrusion 530 and the second fixing protrusion 540 may be formed in a plurality along the longitudinal direction of the body portion 10.
[0055] The fixing projections may each include a projection column 531 and a projection head 533 formed at one end of the projection column 531.
[0056] The protrusion column 531 may extend radially outward from an outer periphery of the body portion 10 and be formed in an approximately cylindrical shape. A length of the protrusion column 531 may correspond to a thickness of the band 550. For example, the length of the protrusion column 531 may be equal to the thickness of the band 550.
[0057] The projection head 533 may be formed at the end of the projection column 531 and formed in an approximately cylindrical shape. A diameter of the projection head 533 may be larger than a diameter of the projection column 531. A chamfer may be formed at one end of the projection head 533 (see Fig. 5A and Fig. 5B). The projection head 533 can be smoothly inserted into the fixing opening formed in the band 550 via the chamfer formed on the projection head 533.
[0058] In addition, the first fixing opening 551 formed in the band 550 may be formed in the proximal portion of the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed, and the second fixing opening 552 may be formed in the distal portion of the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed.
[0059] The first fixing opening 551 may be formed in a position corresponding to the first fixing projection 530, and the second fixing opening 552 may be formed in a position corresponding to the second fixing projection 540 with the adjusted length.
[0060] That is, the first fixing opening 551 may be formed in the distal portion of the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed, and the second fixing opening 552 may be formed in the proximal portion of the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed.
[0061] The first fixing opening 551 may be provided as a plurality of first fixing openings 551 formed in the band 550. The plurality of first fixing openings 551 may be formed sequentially in a longitudinal direction of the band 550. In the embodiment, three first fixing openings 551 may be formed.
[0062] A chamfer may be formed on an edge of each of the fixing openings facing the body portion 10 (see Fig. 5A and Fig. 5B). The projection head 533 can be smoothly inserted into the fixing hole via the chamfer formed in the fixing hole and the chamfer formed on the projection head 533.
[0063] The length adjustment portion 500 may be provided on at least one side of the deformable portion 40 of the body portion 10.
[0064] As in the Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, the length adjustment portion 500 may be provided only on one side of the deformable portion 40 of the body portion 10. In the case where the length of the grommet does not need to be adjusted, the length adjustment portion 500 may be provided only on one side of the deformable portion 40. For example, in the case where an opening angle of the door from the vehicle body is small (or an opening degree is small), the length adjustment portion 500 may be provided only on one side of the deformable portion 40.
[0065] Alternatively, as described in the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the length adjustment portions 500 may be provided on two opposite sides of the deformable portion 40 of the body portion 10. The length adjustment portions 500 provided on the two opposite sides of the deformable portion 40 may be formed symmetrically to each other. In the case where the length of the grommet needs to be adjusted to a large extent, the length adjustment portions 500 may be provided on the two opposite sides of the deformable portion 40. For example, in the case where an opening angle of the door from the vehicle body is large (or an opening degree is large), the length adjustment portions 500 may be provided on the two opposite sides of the deformable portion 40.
[0066] Hereinafter, a method of using the grommet according to the embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0067] First, a user inserts the cable into the body portion 10 of the grommet.
[0068] Considering a rotation angle of the door with respect to the vehicle body, the user appropriately adjusts the length of the variable portion 510 of the length adjusting portion 500 and inserts the first fixing protrusion 530 formed on the body portion 10 into one of the plurality of first fixing holes 551 formed in the band 550.
[0069] For example, in order to reduce the length of the variable portion 510, the first fixing opening 551 among the plurality of first fixing openings 551 formed in the band 550, which is adjacent to the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed, may be coupled to the first fixing projection 530 (see Fig. 7).
[0070] In contrast, in order to increase the length of the variable portion 510, the first fixing hole 551 among the plurality of first fixing holes 551 formed in the band 550, which is remote from the part of the body portion 10 to which the band 550 is fixed, may be coupled to the first fixing projection 530 (see Fig. 6).
[0071] In this case, the first fixing projection 530 is press-fitted into the first fixing hole 551, so that the tape 550 can be prevented from being pulled off the first fixing projection 530. Furthermore, the projection head 533 of the first fixing projection 530 can be smoothly inserted into the first fixing hole 551 via the chamfer formed on the projection head 533 of the first fixing projection 530 and the chamfer formed in the first fixing hole 551.
[0072] Further, the user inserts the second fixing projection 540 formed on the body portion 10 into the second fixing opening 552 formed in the band 550.
[0073] In this case, the second fixing projection 540 is press-fitted into the second fixing hole 552, so that the tape 550 can be prevented from being pulled off the second fixing projection 540. Furthermore, the projection head 533 of the second fixing projection 540 can be smoothly inserted into the second fixing hole 552 via the chamfer formed on the projection head 533 of the second fixing projection 540 and the chamfer formed in the second fixing hole 552.
[0074] The second fixing projection 540 formed on the body portion 10 is inserted into the second fixing hole 552 formed in the band 550, so that the band 550 can be prevented from being separated from the body portion 10.
[0075] Thereafter, the first mounting portion 20 can be mounted to the vehicle body of the vehicle, and the second mounting portion 30 can be mounted to the door of the vehicle.
[0076] In the grommet and the vehicle having the same according to the embodiment, the length of the variable portion 510 of the grommet is adjusted, and the variable portion 510 having the adjusted length is fixed by the fixing projection and the fixing opening of the band 550, so that the grommet according to the embodiment can be used in various types of vehicles.
[0077] In addition, since the grommet can be used on different vehicle types, it is not necessary to manufacture new grommets separately depending on the vehicle types, which can reduce separate material costs and mold costs.
[0078] In addition, since the band 550 is fixedly installed on a part of the body portion 10, the rigidity of the grommet body portion 10 can be enhanced at the same time when the length of the grommet body portion 10 is adjusted.
