AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The existing battery module structures are prone to short circuits when subjected to external forces due to overlapping bus bars, which can cause interference and damage.

Method used

A battery module protection structure is designed with an inclined inter-stack bus bar and a spaced apart whole '+' bus bar, featuring insulating protective members, to prevent short circuits by allowing the bus bars to abut and distribute forces effectively.

Benefits of technology

The structure effectively prevents short circuits and damage to the bus bars and voltage detection lines under external forces, maintaining electrical integrity.

Abstract

A battery module protection structure is provided that prevents the occurrence of a short circuit when an external force is applied. A battery module protection structure (1) comprises: a plurality of battery modules (3) including a battery stack (3b) in which a plurality of battery cells (3a) are stacked; a first conductive connection member (4) having an inclined portion (4c) inclined in a first direction intersecting a horizontal direction for electrically connecting between the battery modules (3); and a second conductive connection member (5) that is farther away from the battery modules (3) than the first conductive connection member (4), at least partially overlapping the inclined portion (4c) when projected in the horizontal direction, and that is electrically connected to a positive all-terminal or a negative all-terminal of the battery module (3).
