Abstract

The invention relates to a camper comprising a bed (1) with a sleeping surface (1.1) and a cabinet (2) arranged adjacent to the bed (1) with an adjustable cabinet front section (2.1). According to the invention, a portion of the interior of the cabinet (2) that becomes freed by adjusting the cabinet front section (2.1) and is accessible from the outside is designed as a sleeping surface extension for widening the sleeping surface (1.1).

Description

The invention relates to a camper according to the preamble of claim 1. A camper of the type mentioned above is generally known, so no specific printed evidence is required. Such a camper, which is essentially a small motorhome and is also often called a camper van, consists, among other things, of a (possibly fold-out) bed with a sleeping surface and a cabinet adjacent to the bed with an adjustable cabinet front section. This cabinet front section can be designed, for example (but not necessarily), as a cabinet door or a drawer front, allowing access to the interior of the cabinet when needed. Alternatively, the cabinet front section can simply be made of a textile material or the like.These types of campers, which are particularly characterized by their compactness, have proven themselves to be very good and are generally very popular. The invention is based on the objective of further improving such a camper. In particular, it aims to create a camper that is even more usable despite inherently limited space. This problem is solved with a camper of the type described above by the features listed in the characterizing portion of claim 1. According to the invention, it is therefore provided that a part of the interior of the cabinet, which has become free through the adjustment of the cabinet front section and is accessible from the outside, is designed to widen the lying surface as a lying surface extension. In other words, the solution according to the invention is characterized by the fact that the cabinet front section (wholly or at least partially) can be adjusted so that at least part of the cabinet's interior can be used for the bed surface. Furthermore, to increase comfort, an additional mattress or even (though this will usually be less common) the sleeping surface itself is preferably placed inside the cabinet. By utilizing the cabinet's interior, the overall bed surface can thus be increased. The solution according to the invention therefore offers, optionally, a larger cabinet volume with a smaller bed surface or, if required, a larger bed surface with a reduced cabinet volume. Other advantageous developments of the camper according to the invention result from the dependent patent claims. The camper according to the invention, including its advantageous further developments according to the dependent claims, is explained in more detail below with reference to the graphic representation of a preferred embodiment. The camper or camper van shown in the figures (at least partially) consists initially, in a manner known per se, of a bed 1 with a lying surface 1.1 preferably designed as a mattress and a cupboard 2 arranged adjacent to the bed 1 with an adjustable cupboard front section 2.1. Looking at it in more detail, it is preferably intended that the cabinet 2 is located on a first side wall of the camper and the bed 1 is located between the cabinet 2 and a second side wall of the camper opposite the first. As shown in Figures 1, 6, and 4, a key feature of the camper according to the invention is that a portion of the interior of the cabinet 2, made accessible from the outside by adjusting the cabinet front section 2.1, is designed as a sleeping area extension 2.2 to widen the sleeping surface 1.1. The term "widening" is used above because, as a rule, one lies or sleeps lengthwise (and not crosswise) in such a camper. If, as mentioned above, the sleeping surface 1.1 is preferably designed as a mattress, the sleeping area extension 2.2 can preferably also be referred to as, or be designed as, a mattress compartment. Depending on requirements, an additional mattress 3 can preferably be provided either for insertion into the interior of the cabinet 2 and / or for placement against the sleeping surface 1.1. Fig. 1 shows the first option. If the cabinet 2 is sufficiently wide, it could also be the case, for example (although this is generally rather unlikely), that the sleeping surface 1.1, preferably designed as a mattress, is pushed into the cabinet 2 and the additional mattress 3 is inserted in the space that is thereby freed up. Furthermore, as shown in Fig. 1, Fig. 4 and Fig. 6, it is preferably provided that the cabinet front section 2.1 is designed to be adjustable into the interior of the cabinet 2, preferably pivotable, in the sense of being adjustable at least partially or even completely into the interior of the cabinet 2. Furthermore, a hinge (preferably removable or easily divisible) for adjusting the cabinet front section 2.1 is preferably provided at an upper end of the cabinet front section 2.1, away from the lying surface 1.1. As can be further seen from the figures, to create a sufficiently large sleeping space in the wardrobe 2, it is preferably provided that the wardrobe front section 2.1 is foldable about a horizontal axis 2.4. It is further preferably provided that the wardrobe front section 2.1 is formed from an upper subsection 2.1.1 and a lower subsection 2.1.2, with the horizontal axis 2.4 being arranged between these two subsections 2.1.1 and 2.1.2. This creates (see also Fig. 6 in particular) a vertically extending section in the lower area and an inclined section in the upper area, thus making optimal use of the available space.In more detail, a particularly preferred design feature is that a frame element 2.3 is arranged both at an opening in the cabinet 2 for the cabinet front section 2.1 and on the cabinet front section 2.1 itself. This allows the hinges for pivoting and opening the cabinet front section 2.1 to function independently. It is further preferred that the frame element 2.3 is pivotably mounted on the cabinet 2, or more specifically at the upper edge of the opening, at one of its upper ends, preferably at the end furthest from the lying surface, about a first, horizontal pivot axis 2.7. It is also preferred that the cabinet front section 2.1, preferably its lower subsection 2.1.2, is pivotably mounted on the frame element 2.3 at a lower end, near the lying surface, preferably about a second, horizontal pivot axis 2.6. These pivot axes 2.6 and 2.7 preferably run parallel to each other. To close the cabinet front section 2.1, in particular the upper subsection 2.1.1, a cabinet lock 2.5 is preferably provided at the upper end of the cabinet front section 2.1, preferably arranged on one side on the frame element 2.3 and on the other side on the upper subsection 2.1.1. As can be clearly seen, it is preferably provided that the cabinet front section 2.1 is lockable relative to the cabinet 2, preferably by a locking device 2.8, both in a cabinet position (Fig. 5) and in a bed position (Fig. 6). As can be readily seen, the dual function of the cabinet front section 2.1 according to the invention can be particularly well realized in this way, since, optionally, when the cabinet 2 is used as a cabinet, the cabinet front section 2.1 (if a frame element 2.3 is used, then together with it) can be pivoted approximately vertically towards the inside of the vehicle, or, when the cabinet 2 is used as a sleeping area extension 2.2, the cabinet front section 2.1 (if a frame element 2.3 is used, then together with it) can be pivoted outwards towards the outside of the vehicle. The frame element 2.3 is preferably designed to extend at least to the aforementioned axis 2.4 of the cabinet front section 2.1. By pivoting the cabinet front section 2.1 or the frame element 2.3 towards the center of the vehicle, the cabinet can thus be used as storage space; by pivoting the frame element 2.3 towards the outside of the vehicle, the cabinet serves as a widened bed surface.In both positions, the cabinet front section 2.1 can be opened to use the space behind it for storage. In addition, it is preferably provided that the adjustable cabinet front section 2.1 begins at the height of the lying surface 1.1 and extends from there to a maximum of 60 cm, preferably a maximum of 45 cm, particularly preferably a maximum of 30 cm above the lying surface 1.1. In more detail, with regard to the dimensions of the solution according to the invention, it is particularly preferred that the extension of the lying surface 2.2 has a preferably rectangular base area, the length of which is at least twice, preferably at least three times, and particularly preferably at least four times its width, thus preferably being strip-shaped. The additional mattress 3 is preferably formed from a mattress cover and a molded part inserted into the mattress cover, the molded part being most preferably formed by appropriately folding a picnic blanket that is usually carried along anyway. In all of this, it is particularly preferred that, to create a flat bed surface, a user-side surface of the lying surface 1.1 is arranged at the same height as a user-side surface of the lying surface extension 2.2. Depending on the height of the cabinet floor exposed when the cabinet front section 2.1 is adjusted, the preferably provided or used additional mattress 3 can be the same thickness as the lying surface 1.1, but optionally also thinner or even thicker than it. Finally, it is particularly preferred that the cabinet front section 2.1 is optionally designed as a cabinet door, as a cabinet flap, like a roller shutter or even made of a textile material, and ultimately serves, of course, to provide access to the interior of the cabinet 2. Claims

Camper comprising a bed (1) with a sleeping surface (1.1) and a cabinet (2) arranged adjacent to the bed (1) with an adjustable cabinet front section (2.1), characterized in that a part of the interior of the cabinet (2) which has been freed by the adjustment of the cabinet front section (2.1) and is accessible from the outside is designed as a sleeping surface extension (2.2) for widening the sleeping surface (1.1). Camper according to claim 1, characterized in that the cabinet front section (2.1) is designed to be adjustable into the interior of the cabinet (2). Camper according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a user-side surface of the sleeping area (1.1) is arranged at the same height as a user-side surface of the sleeping area extension (2.2). Camper according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that an additional mattress (3) is optionally provided for insertion into the interior of the cabinet (2) and / or for attachment to the sleeping surface (1.1). Camper according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the sleeping area extension (2.2) has a base area whose length is at least twice as large as its width.
