Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle (1),- with a windshield (2) and two A-pillars (5),- with a roof bow (6) which extends above the windshield (2) in the transverse direction (7) of the vehicle and is fixedly connected to a respective pillar body (8) of the associated A-pillar (5),- with a pedestrian protection device (9) with an A-pillar cover (10) arranged on the outside of an associated A-pillar (5), which rests on the outside of the associated A-pillar body (8) in a rest position and is lifted off the outside of the associated A-pillar body (10) in a crash position, and with an actuator device (11) for adjusting the A-pillar covers (10) from their rest position to their crash position.The essential features of the invention are: - that the A-pillar covers (10) are connected to each other at their upper ends via a roof frame element (12), - that the actuator device (11) is arranged in the roof bow (6) and is connected to the roof frame element (6) via a drive.
