Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a dog raincoat for wearing by a dog. Devices exist to protect dogs from rain, etc. One problem is that these devices are not needed at all times, meaning they must be transportable and readily available when necessary to protect the dog. Various methods for temporarily storing such a device are known in the prior art. For example, DE 10 2020 003 579 A1 discloses a foldable protective cover that can be placed in a bag. This bag, in turn, is part of a correspondingly equipped dog collar and can be closed after the folded protective cover has been placed inside. In this case, a specific dog collar with the bag integrated into the collar is required. A similar system is known from GB 2513293 A, which again reveals a dog collar that includes a container in which a waterproof jacket for dogs can be stored. Both revelations therefore require a custom-made dog collar and rain cover, whereby the dog collar must be designed to accommodate a rain cover and the rain cover must be designed in such a way that it can be stored inside the dog collar. The problem to be solved by the invention is therefore to provide protection for a dog that is less expensive and requires fewer special devices. This problem is solved by a dog raincoat as described below. The claimed solution to the problem is given in claim 1. Further solutions, in particular advantageous embodiments of the aforementioned solutions, are presented in the further claims and in the following description. The dog raincoat according to the invention is foldable. This is achieved, according to the invention, by folding the dog raincoat. The dog raincoat is made of a material that is water-repellent and breathable. Furthermore, this material is lightweight; in particular, the dog raincoat weighs a maximum of 100 g, and in particular less than 100 g. The material can consist of a single material or a composite material. Polyester fabric with a ripstop structure is advantageous. Such a ripstop structure is characterized, in particular, by the presence of reinforcing threads woven in at regular intervals. According to the invention, the coat material itself forms a pocket. The pocket is thus formed from the coat material itself and is therefore an integral part of the coat material. The pocket is designed to hold the remainder of the folded dog raincoat. Unlike in the prior art, the pocket is not part of a dog collar or a separate bag, but is integrated into the raincoat and thus an integral part of the coat. The pocket is therefore not a separate item that, for example, always needs to be carried along. The raincoat can thus be easily folded and made smaller, and at the same time stored in such a way that it no longer unfolds easily. According to the invention, the dog raincoat has at least one, in particular at least two, and in particular exactly two, fastening means on a section of the material for attaching the dog raincoat to a dog's collar. The fastening means are designed to provide a connection, in particular a friction-fit and / or form-fit connection, with a dog's collar. Advantageously, the at least one fastening means for attaching the raincoat to the dog's collar can be attached to the collar without additional tools and can be removed from the collar without leaving any residue and without additional tools. Advantageously, the at least one fastening means is a hook-and-loop fastener, a tab, and / or an eyelet. Advantageously, the at least one fastening means, in particular the at least one hook-and-loop fastener, extends longitudinally along the length of the raincoat and has a width of at least 5 cm.Advantageously, the dog raincoat can have at least two fastening means, in particular at least two Velcro straps, wherein a first fastening means is arranged on a first section of the dog raincoat and a second fastening means is arranged on a second section that is axially symmetrical to the first section on an axis defined by the longitudinal axis of the dog raincoat. The fastening device allows the raincoat to be easily attached to an existing dog collar. Advantageously, the section where the fastening device is attached to the material—in particular, the sections where the fastening devices are attached to the material—is positioned on the coat in such a way that the fastening device is accessible and connectable to the dog collar both when the coat is unfolded and when it is folded, i.e., when the rest of the coat is stored in a bag. Thus, the fastening device can be securely attached both when the raincoat is in use and when transporting it, even when the raincoat is not intended for use as a protective device, and can therefore always be carried along. To make the raincoat even more secure to the dog when used as a protective device, i.e. in its unfolded state, the raincoat may advantageously include a belt to encircle the dog's belly, in particular an adjustable belt to encircle the dog's belly. Advantageously, the belt can have a soft, and in particular long, hook-and-loop fastener strip at a first end. Advantageously, the belt can have a soft, and in particular short, hook-and-loop fastener strip at a second end. Advantageously, the belt can have a relief element, in particular an elastic band, before the first end and before the hook-and-loop fastener strip located at the first end, and / or a relief element, in particular an elastic band, before the second end and before the hook-and-loop fastener strip located at the second end. Advantageously, the hook-and-loop fastener strip arranged at the first end of the belt can be arranged on a first longitudinal side of the raincoat and the hook-and-loop fastener strip arranged at the second end of the belt can be arranged on a second longitudinal side of the raincoat, wherein the first longitudinal side is arranged axially opposite the second longitudinal side to the axis given by the longitudinal axis of the dog raincoat. Advantageously, the belt can be arranged on a longitudinal side of the raincoat; in particular, the hook-and-loop fastener strip arranged at the first end of the belt can be arranged on a first longitudinal side of the raincoat, and the hook-and-loop fastener strip arranged at the second end of the belt can be arranged on a second longitudinal side of the raincoat, extending along a width of the raincoat. Furthermore, the section on which the at least one fastening means is arranged can advantageously be located on an end face and / or – in the case of use according to the invention – adjacent to the neck strap, and extend along a longitudinal side of the raincoat. Advantageously, the longitudinal side and the end face can be substantially perpendicular to each other. Advantageously, the raincoat can include at least one fastening device. Advantageously, the fastening device includes a hook-and-loop fastener. In particular, the raincoat includes a fastening device comprising a first strap, arranged on a first side of the raincoat and comprising several hook-and-loop hooks, and a second strap, arranged on a second side of the raincoat opposite the first, comprising several hook-and-loop loops. Advantageously, the first and second straps, depending particularly on their arrangement on the sides of the raincoat, can extend along a width or length of the raincoat or obliquely to a width or length of the raincoat. Advantageously, the strap can be arranged in an upper section of the raincoat, the upper section being positioned adjacent to the dog's collar during intended use. Advantageously, the coat material can have an outer surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface, wherein the pocket is formed on the outer surface in such a way that, when the dog raincoat is unfolded, the pocket lies flat on the outer surface. Advantageously, the storage capacity provided by the bag can have a storage volume of less than 370 cm3. Advantageously, the bag can have a viewing window or opening so that, when folded, a design or logo arranged on the material is visible through the viewing window or opening. Advantageously, the pocket can be formed by sewing around the material, with the seams together with a folded-over edge defining the pocket open in one direction, and two opposing surfaces of the material between the seams and the edge forming the opening for the dog raincoat. Advantageously, the dog raincoat can have reflective seams. Ideally, the dog raincoat should have a length of at least 43 cm and / or a maximum of 76 cm. Advantageously, the bag can have a width of at least 14 cm and / or a maximum of 22 cm and / or a length of at least 6 cm and / or a maximum of 8.5 cm. One of the invention's unique features is that the dog can wear the very lightweight raincoat even when folded, attached to its collar. The coat folds easily and compactly and can be fastened to the dog's collar, for example, with Velcro straps. This ensures it's always readily accessible without the need for the owner to carry it in a separate bag. The dog raincoat was specially designed to combine functionality, comfort, and sustainability. The following are key features: 1. Innovative Carrying Solution: • The coat is designed to fold quickly and easily into an ultra-compact bag – no complicated instructions required. • Using fasteners such as Velcro straps, the bag can be effortlessly attached to the dog's collar, ensuring the raincoat stays on the dog at all times. • This eliminates the need to carry the coat in a separate handbag. 2. Material Properties: • Preferably Polyester Ripstop: The ripstop fabric used is a lightweight, water-repellent, and extremely durable polyester material. Its grid structure, with reinforcing threads woven in at regular intervals to form a checkerboard pattern, makes it particularly tear- and wear-resistant, and therefore ideal for our raincoat.• Reflective seams provide added visibility and safety in low-light conditions. 3. Practical Features: • The adjustable Velcro fasteners on the belt ensure an optimal fit, even for dogs with unusual body shapes (e.g., a broad-chested pug or a long-backed dachshund). Ideal for slender breeds. 4. Sustainability: • The production process measurably reduces CO2 emissions and minimizes pollutant exposure, particularly by eliminating the need for custom-made dog collars. 5. Available Sizes: • The coat can be produced in various sizes, for example, the following 9 sizes, adapted to body lengths from 1 to 9 cm. Size | Ideal back length | Waist / Belly | Total length of coat including pocket | Total length of belt | Backpack / Pocket measurements 136-39cm38-45cm43cm51×8cm14×6cm 238-42cm38-47cm47cm55×8cm15×6cm 343-50cm39-48cm51cm59×8cm16×6.5cm 445-52cm43-53cm54cm62×10cm17×6.5cm 549-55cm48-58cm57cm65×10cm18×7cm 656-64cm55-65cm65cm73×10cm19×7cm 759-66cm56-71cm70cm78×12cm20×7.5cm 860-69cm56-72cm74cm82×12cm21×8cm 963-71cm58-75cm76cm84×12cm22×8.5cm A => Total length of the coat B => Total length of the adjustable belt C => Integrated backpack (for the dog collar) Care instructions: • The coat can be washed by hand or in the washing machine at 30°C using a liquid detergent for technical clothing. However, it should not be spun or tumble dried. Do not iron. Summary of some advantages: • Unique carrying solution: The dog wears the bag on its collar. • High functionality: Water-repellent, very lightweight, and available in many colors. • Practical. • Easy to care for. With this innovative concept, the dog raincoat becomes not only a practical companion in bad weather, but also an environmentally conscious and comfortable product for both dog and owner. Further advantageous embodiments will become apparent from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying schematic figures. Figure 1 shows a top view of an unfolded raincoat according to the invention along the longitudinal direction, and Figure 2 shows a top view of a folded raincoat according to the invention stowed in the pocket. The exemplary embodiments are depicted in sketch form in the figures, so that individual features of the invention are particularly easy and clear to see. The proportions do not need to be realistically represented. Identical elements in the figures are labelled with the same reference numerals. Fig. 1 shows the longitudinal direction 1 of the folded raincoat according to the invention running in the plane of the drawing, together with other features of the raincoat. Fastening means 10 are arranged in the upper area of the raincoat, in a section of the raincoat that, in its intended use, is positioned adjacent to a neck strap. These fastening means 10 can be, for example, tabs or hook-and-loop fasteners. However, other fastening means are also conceivable that can be attached to the neck strap without additional tools and removed from the neck strap without leaving any residue and without additional tools. Furthermore, at one edge of the raincoat, the coat material forms a pocket 3 by means of a hemmed seam. The pocket 3 has two opposite sides of the coat, which are connected to each other on at least three sides. This provides a storage space. Furthermore, hook-and-loop strips 9, 9.1 are arranged on both sides of the upper outer surface of the raincoat. These hook-and-loop strips 9, 9.1 can, for example, be attached to or around a neck strap (not shown), which can be positioned at the points indicated by symbols 4 and 4.1. Alternatively, these hook-and-loop strips 9, 9.1 can also be wrapped around a part of the dog's body, for example, its neck. For this reason, one of the hook-and-loop strips 9 can have a long hook-and-loop element 9 and the other hook-and-loop strip a short hook-and-loop element 6.1, in particular with hook-and-loop hooks. The hook-and-loop strips 9, 9.1 can extend horizontally, as shown in Fig. 1. However, it is also conceivable, particularly if the raincoat has upwardly extending wings as shown in Fig. 1 and the Velcro strips 9, 9.1 are arranged in the area of these wings (as shown in Fig. 1), that the Velcro strips 9, 9.1. The right Velcro strip 9 extends outwards at an angle, i.e., the right Velcro strip 9 extends upwards to the right in the drawing, i.e., away from the center of the unfolded raincoat, and the left Velcro strip 9.1 extends upwards to the left in the drawing, i.e., away from the center of the unfolded raincoat, preferably at an angle to the horizontal of more than 20° and less than 70°. In the center and parallel to the longitudinal axis, a fastening seam 5 is indicated along the axis of symmetry of the raincoat material. A belt 6, an adjustable belt 2, can then be arranged in the center of the raincoat at the fastening seam 5 and, if necessary, at other positions. The length of the belt can be adjusted, for example, by arranging hook-and-loop fasteners 8, 8.1 at the respective ends of the belt 6. For example, one of the hook-and-loop fasteners 8.1 can be a long fastener element 8.1 and the other a short fastener element 8.1. The hook and loop strips 8, 8.1, 9, 9.1 can each be designed as hook and loop fasteners on one side and as hook and loop fasteners on the other side. The belt may also have a relief device 8.2, for example in the form of an elastic band, between the two ends, in particular between the seam 5 and one of the ends, for example the right Velcro strip 8.1. Furthermore, the circumference of the raincoat may have a seam which is designed as a reflective seam 7, i.e., it has a reflective material. Figure 2 shows the raincoat in a folded state, stowed in the bag. It can still be seen that the fastening means, here designed as hook and loop fasteners 11, 12, are still accessible and usable, so that the folded raincoat, stowed in the bag, can be attached to and detached from the collar using the fastening means.
