Connector assembly tool, its use and method for assembling a connector

Abstract

The task is to provide a connector assembly tool that enables the reliable detection of a terminal misalignment for a connector equipped with a terminal position locking section integrally formed on a housing. A connector assembly tool 10 is moved into a locking position for a terminal housed in the housing 51 when a terminal position locking section 63, integrally formed on a housing 51 of a connector 50, is moved. The connector assembly tool 10 is provided with a pair of rail sections 12, each extending along a right-hand direction X1 (first direction), with a groove section 20 formed between the pair of rail sections 12. The groove section 20 includes a narrowed section 23 with a groove width that gradually narrows in the right-hand direction X1.The connector assembly tool 10 is configured such that the narrowed section 23 moves the connection position locking section into the locking position when the housing 51 with the connector inserted therein is inserted into the groove section 20 and moved in the clockwise direction X1.
