Abstract

In a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure, a cutting insert has a rod shape extending along a central axis from a front end to a rear end. The cutting insert comprises a body and a cutting portion located closer to the front end than the body. The cutting portion has a front end face located on one side of the front end, a top surface extending from the front end face to the body, and a front end cutting edge located at an intersection of the front end face and the top surface. The top surface has a pair of first crusher projections extending individually from one side of the body to the front end face, and a second crusher projection located between the pair of first crusher projections. The second crusher projection has a flat surface that slopes upward with increasing proximity to the body.
