Abstract

A Controller Area Network bus driver (CAN bus driver) is provided for controlling a CAN bus. The bus driver can include a first circuit with a translinear loop for receiving an input voltage and outputting a first output current signal corresponding to an exponential function, a second circuit with a translinear loop for receiving the input voltage and outputting a second output current signal corresponding to a hyperbolic function, a divider circuit for outputting a split output current signal corresponding to the first output current signal divided by the second output current signal, a CAN-Lo driver circuit for outputting the split output current signal to a CAN-Lo line of the CAN bus, and a CAN-Hi driver circuit for outputting the split output current signal to a CAN-Hi line of the CAN bus.
