A system and method of assisting a driver of a vehicle by providing driver and vehicle feedback control signals is disclosed. The system and method includes receiving location data of the vehicle from a GPS unit, receiving the location data of the vehicle and retrieving navigation characteristics relevant to the location data using a processing circuit, generating a most probable future path for the vehicle and determining a location of at least one navigation characteristic with respect to the most probable future path and the vehicle, generating vehicle data at least one vehicle sensor, and transmitting a control signal to a vehicle control area network to warn the driver of an upcoming navigation characteristic on the most probable path.

A method and system for routing high-speed data to and from SANs (Storage Area Networks and Server Area Networks) via optical burst-switched (OBS) networks. OBS network components, including edge nodes and switching nodes, are coupled between SAN islands. In one embodiment, the OBS network comprises a photonic burst-switched (PBS) network. Under one scheme, a PBS edge node and SAN gateway are co-located at the interface to the SAN, while a plurality of PBS switching nodes are deployed between the PBS edge nodes. Under another scheme, PBS switching/edge nodes are co-located at respective SANs. This scheme employs an external gateway protocol (EGP) for routing data via selected route segments. Data going to and received from a SAN is packaged as Fibre Channel Frames. Data transmitted via the PBS network is converted into PBS frames having encapsulated Fibre Channel Frames. The schemes also support interfaces with legacy networks, such as LANs and WANs.

A wireless broadband access gateway having a wireless interface compatible with any of a number of commercial wireless wide area network standards provides enhanced wire area network coverage via a broadband network. A data transmission system uses a method of aligning a plurality of transmission lanes with a plurality of reception lanes in a time-division multiplexing arrangement. The method utilizes a plurality of control symbols and lane identifiers that are transmitted on each of the transmission lanes during link initialization and training. The control symbols and lane identifiers are time-division multiplexed onto a data link and subsequently demultiplexed onto the plurality of reception lanes. One of the reception lanes is monitored for receipt of a control symbol followed by a lane identifier. Upon receipt, a lane identifier is compared to the identity of the reception lane being monitored. If the received lane identifier does not match the identity of the reception lane being monitored, the assignment of the reception lanes is rotated.

Disclosed herein is a modular battery system having at least one subsystem comprising a plurality of battery modules connected in series or parallel, wherein each subsystem preferably having a first endplate and a second endplate. The battery modules may be bound between the first and second endplates. A plurality of band members couple the first and second endplates to each other and bind the battery module between the endplates. Status information may include module temperature, module pressure and module voltage, essentially any measurable parameter that may be conducted via an electrical signal. Depending on the needs of a given application, the battery modules may be connected in series or parallel.

At least the first module and the second module communicate on the system bus. The vehicle management system further includes an identifier based on one of a plurality of vehicle types. The anomaly detector may be implemented on a vehicle Electronic Control Unit (ECU) communicating via a vehicle CAN bus. The anomaly detector does not rely on an database of messages and their periodicity from manufacturers (dbc files) and in that sense is truly a zero knowledge detector.

A system and method for disaster recovery for processing resources using configurable deployment platform. A primary site has a configuration of processing resources. A specification of the configuration of processing resources of the primary site is generated. The specification is provided to a fail-over site that has a configurable processing platform capable of deploying processing area networks in response to software commands. Using the specification, software commands are generated to the configurable platform to deploy processing area network corresponding to the specifications.
