Abstract

Cleaning robot comprising: at least one sensor (110); at least one camera (120); memory (130) storing an artificial intelligence model trained to recognize an object in an image received from the at least one camera; a drive unit; and at least one processor (140), wherein the at least one processor is configured to: generate an initial map indicating a structure in a home based on information acquired by the at least one sensor; divide the initial map into multiple work areas; obtain information about an object contained in the captured image by inputting an image acquired from the at least one camera into the trained artificial intelligence model; and obtain recognition information about at least one part of the multiple work areas based on the information obtained about the object;to generate a second map showing the name of at least one part of the multiple areas and a name or symbol of the object at a location corresponding to the object's location information within the multiple work areas, based on the first map, the information about the object, and the recognition information for at least one part of the multiple work areas; and to carry out a cleaning operation for at least one work area based on the second map.
