Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a piece of sports equipment comprising a clay pigeon catching device mounted on a vertical support at a distance from a ground-mounting portion of the support. Clay pigeon catching devices of this type are known per se. They typically consist of basket-shaped structures formed from chains, between which a clay pigeon is clamped when thrown in a suitable manner toward the clay pigeon catching device.

[0002] The object of the invention is to create a sports device of this type that enables a weather-resistant score display and stabilizes the sports device. This object is achieved by a sports device having the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.

[0003] According to the invention, the sports equipment consists of at least two vertical supports arranged at a horizontal distance from one another. Each of the at least two vertical supports has a lower ground-attachment section for mounting or arrangement on the ground. This can be a ground anchor, for example, in a game, or a base for arrangement on a court or in a building. At a vertical distance from the ground-attachment section, each of the at least two supports carries at least one clay pigeon catching device designed as described above.

[0004] The at least two supports are connected to one another via a horizontal bar arranged at a distance from the ground fastening section. The connection via the crossbar can be made at the upper edge of the play equipment, at mid-height, below the catcher basket, or at the catcher basket itself. Several display elements are mounted on the bar so they can move in the longitudinal direction of the bar. These display elements can be, for example, rings, cubes, blocks, spheres, or other geometric shapes through which the bar passes. The display elements themselves can be made of plastic, metal, glass, painted wood, or other weather-resistant materials. In any case, they should be designed in such a way that they are also suitable for outdoor use and are accordingly weatherproof. This sports equipment thus enables a stable and simple display of the game result in a visually appealing and robust manner.

[0005] Of course, three or four vertical beams can also be connected to each other via a corresponding number of horizontal rods, in which case the beams form a polygonal configuration, such as a triangle or square. The connecting rods form the sides of the polygon, connecting each beam to the beams to the right and left of it. If the connecting rods are the same length, the configuration is an equilateral triangle or square.

[0006] Preferably, the horizontal connecting rod is connected to the upper end of the at least two supports. This way, the connecting rod is not in the way, but typically extends at a height of at least 1.5 m, preferably at least 2 m, so that one can easily walk under the rod without bumping into it.

[0007] Preferably, the clay pigeon catching device comprises a catching unit with two vertically spaced rings mounted on the support, the upper ring of which has a larger diameter than the lower ring, and the two rings are connected to each other via spaced-apart chains. Such a clay pigeon catching device is known per se and has proven highly suitable for catching thrown clay pigeons. Of course, all possible alternatives to the chains, such as Velcro material, cords, hoses, poles, fabrics, nets, or other materials such as leather and rubber, are possible for catching the clay pigeons.

[0008] The length of the chain links is preferably between 0.5 cm and 10 cm, and the width of the chain links is preferably between 0.5 and 5 cm, which has a positive effect on the catching performance of the clay pigeon catching device. The height of the clay pigeon catching device is preferably between 30 cm and 1 m.

[0009] A good catching result is achieved when the chains are arranged equidistantly or astrodistantly (star-shaped) around the carrier, so that the catching behavior of the clay pigeon catching device is identical from every throwing side.

[0010] Ideally, the chains should sag slightly, forming a basket around the support. This allows thrown clay pigeons to penetrate the chains more easily, improving the catching performance of the clay pigeon catching device.

[0011] The chains are bundled around the vertical pole just above the lower grass catcher. This is usually a closed lower ring, preferably suspended by the chains and vertically movable on the support or center pole. Several consecutive rows of chains can also be used, connected vertically and horizontally.

[0012] In an advantageous development of the invention, the clay pigeon catching device comprises a collecting basket arranged beneath the catching unit, through which the carrier passes centrally. Clay pigeons caught by the clay pigeon catching device thus fall into the collecting basket and can be easily removed for further play.

[0013] Preferably, the carrier, the connecting rod and / or the clay pigeon catching device are made of metal, in particular of stainless metal, stainless metal alloys, plastic or other weather-resistant materials, and are therefore suitable for outdoor use due to their weather resistance.

[0014] In an advantageous development of the invention, the connecting rod is arranged at a distance of 5 cm to 50 cm above the upper end of the clay pigeon catching device. This ensures that the catching performance of the clay pigeon catching device is not impaired, especially at a height of more than 1 m to 2.50 m.

[0015] Preferably, the display elements are displaceable over the entire length of the connecting rod, so that the display elements can be used selectively for one of the at least two carriers with associated clay pigeon catching devices or selectively for both if it is a competition in which both clay pigeon catching devices on the at least two carriers are used competitively or cooperatively by different game participants.

[0016] Preferably, the underside of the clay pigeon catching device is spaced 0.5 to 2 m from the ground fastening section of the at least two supports, which ensures good playability for both children and adults.

[0017] In principle, it could also be provided to design the support in a telescopic manner, so that the height of the clay pigeon catching devices as well as the height of the connecting rod can be adjusted by vertically adjusting the length of the telescopic supports, for example for children or for adults.

[0018] In an advantageous development of the invention, the ground-mounting section of the at least two supports is provided with a base, allowing it to be easily installed in a hall. Alternatively, the ground-mounting section of the at least two supports can be anchored in the ground by a foundation, which is particularly preferable for outdoor installations.

[0019] A simple connection of the connecting rod to the supports is possible if the connecting rod is attached to the supports via T-connectors. The supports extend into the vertical leg of the T, while the connecting rod passes through the horizontal leg of the T-connector. This enables a stable yet easily removable attachment of the connecting rod to the at least two supports, depending on how the T-connectors are attached to the supports, for example, screwed or welded. Optionally, the connecting rod can also be made of plastic or other weather-resistant materials or, regardless of the material, form a solid, one-piece unit with the vertical rods of the at least two clay pigeon catching devices.

[0020] Preferably, the clay pigeon catching device is arranged in the upper third of the length of the at least two supports. This way, the clay pigeon catching device of each support is significantly spaced from the ground and thus less likely to become dirty, especially when arranged outdoors. Furthermore, a spaced-off arrangement of the clay pigeon catching device is more ergonomically favorable for the game.

[0021] It is obvious to a person skilled in the art that the embodiments described above can be combined with each other in any way, provided that features of different embodiments do not exclude each other.

[0022] The invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the schematic drawing, in which: Fig. 1 a side view of a sports device according to the invention with two supports connected by a connecting rod, each having a clay pigeon catching device. Fig. Figure 1 shows a piece of sports equipment 10 comprising two horizontal supports 12a, 12b spaced apart by a distance d, each of which has a ground-mounting section 14 by which it is anchored to a ground 16. In the illustrated view, the ground-mounting section is secured to a foundation in a playground. Alternatively, the ground-mounting section 14 can also have a base for placement on the solid ground of a hall or playground.

[0023] On each of the two supports 12a, 12b, at a distance h from the ground 16, a clay pigeon catching device 18 is arranged, each consisting of a catching unit 20 and a collecting basket 22 arranged underneath. Each catching unit consists of an upper ring 24, through which the support 12a, 12b passes, and a lower ring (not visible in the figure) spaced therefrom, which is arranged at the height of the collecting basket 22. Essentially vertical chains 26 extend between the upper ring 24 and the lower ring and cover the lower ring in the figure. In this way, a roughly basket-like catching unit is created, with clay pigeons, when thrown accurately, getting caught between the chains 26, becoming clamped there, and then falling into the collecting basket located underneath. Clay pigeon catching devices of this type are known per se.

[0024] The two supports 12a and 12b are connected at their upper ends via T-connectors 28 to a connecting rod 30, on which annular display elements 32 made of metal, plastic, or painted wood are held displaceably along the length of the connecting rod 30 according to the arrows. In this way, a sports device is created with two clay pigeon catching devices 18 that can be combined in a common game or independently operated clay pigeon catching devices 18, which have a robust, weatherproof score display by means of the display elements 32 on the connecting rod 30, wherein the connecting rod 32 further improves the stability of the sports device 10. The connecting rod 30 is preferably arranged at a height H of 1.50 m to 3 m, in particular between 2 m and 2.50 m, while the lower end of the collecting basket h of the clay pigeon catching device 18 is arranged at a height h of approximately 0.5 m to 2 m.

[0025] Needless to say, the figure shows the sports equipment with two supports. It is equally possible to provide the sports equipment with three or four supports, or even more supports, each connected to the adjacent support(s) via a connecting rod. The arrangement of multiple supports is then preferably in the form of an equilateral polygon, with the connecting rods forming the sides and the supports forming the corners of the polygon.

[0026] The connecting rods can be designed as rods or profiles with round, square, or other cross-sections. Rust-resistant metal, such as aluminum, is particularly suitable for the supports and the connecting rod and / or the clay pigeon catching device.

[0027] The invention has been described above using an exemplary embodiment. This is not to be understood as limiting, but the invention may be varied within the scope of the dependent claims.
