Abstract
Description
[0001] In contrast to everyday clothing, a greater focus on functional aspects can be observed in sportswear. General attributes such as breathability and freedom of movement are part of various advertising claims. These attributes are intended to improve the wearer's performance. Currently, there are no athletic pants specifically tailored to the specific demands of weightlifting.
[0002] A short-term increase in intra-abdominal pressure is a desirable state in the sport of weightlifting. The increased pressure is intended to support core stability and relieve pressure on the dorsal spine. A widely used aid is the "lifting belt." This is placed above the pelvis before performing an exercise and tightened while exhaling. The resulting compression of the core facilitates contraction of the abdominal muscles. When used correctly, the improved stability is said to reduce the risk of injury and increase maximum strength. Both aspects are essential components for long-term success in weightlifting and hypertrophy training. After performing the exercise, the weightlifting belt is opened to facilitate breathing.
[0003] The invention defined in claim 1 addresses the problem of requiring an additional aid to increase intra-abdominal pressure during exercise. Integrating this functionality into the sports pants can overcome this hurdle. A pair of sports pants is designed that is specifically tailored to the needs of weightlifting.
[0004] This problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1. The invention allows the wearer to wear the weightlifting belt on their body for any length of time (e.g., for a training session). By adjusting the width, the integrated belt can be adapted to the respective exercise. Basic leg exercises (e.g., squats) require a high degree of physical tension and consequently a tight width setting. Isolated training of individual muscles (e.g., the leg extension) can be supported by tensing the core muscles. A less tight, but longer-lasting, width can be selected for these exercises. Smaller amounts of support are conceivable for medical applications. Therapeutically, the invention could be used to temporarily relieve pressure on the dorsal spine for rehabilitation exercises. Users of colostomy bags could use them for fixation in certain sports.
[0005] Due to the advantages mentioned, an application for work clothing for certain professions is conceivable.
[0006] A proven version is available in the Fig. 1 to 4. Claim 7 describes a particularly advantageous embodiment of the weightlifting belt. Fig. 1: Front view of sports shorts with weightlifting belt. The image shows the sports shorts with the weightlifting belt fastened. Fig. 2: Exterior view of the weightlifting belt (not to scale). This illustration shows the weightlifting belt from the outside. The Velcro fastener (1) closes with the Velcro fastener (6). Fig. 3: Rear view of the sports pants without the weightlifting belt. The image shows the back view. The vertically extended design of the Velcro fastener (8) allows the belt to be worn at a suitable height. Fig. 4: Inside view of weightlifting belt (not to scale)
[0007] The figures show the most rudimentary setup that allows for the solution of the problem under consideration. Experiments have shown that the following adjustments should be considered when transferring to a design: • Rounded corners of the weightlifting belt to increase comfort. • Tapering the height of the Velcro fasteners (6) and (7) below the height of the straps (2) to increase wearing comfort. • Careful selection of materials used to increase breathability. Claims
[1] Sports pants with weightlifting belt, characterized by that the sports pants (5) have a textile extension (3) above the waistband, which allows the fixation of a weightlifting belt. [2] Sports trousers according to claim 1, characterized by that Velcro fasteners (7) & (8) are used to allow the user to adjust the height. [3] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that Velcro fasteners (1) & (6) are used to allow the user to adjust the width. [4] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the weightlifting belt with its lightweight construction can withstand the high mechanical demands through the use of straps and Velcro fasteners. [5] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized bythat the textile extension (3) uses elastic synthetic fibers to ensure a close fit to the wearer's stomach and back and prevent it from slipping. [6] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the textile extension (3) is secured against slipping by the integration of a second waistband (9). [7] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the weightlifting belt consists of two wide straps (3 cm) to allow symmetrical loading and prevent the lower strap from rolling up when bending the torso. [8] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by The distribution of the Velcro fasteners allows for wear under outer clothing. Placing the hook side facing outwards would lead to unwanted snagging on outer clothing. [9] Sports pants according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by that the material of the straps (2) does not have elastic behavior in order to maximize the compression of the torso.
