[0001] The present utility model relates to an accessory of a machining device and in particular to a cutter holder assembly with a joint connector. 2. Description of the state of the art

[0002] To mill or drill a workpiece, a cutter is driven by a spindle to machine the workpiece. A cutter holder is inserted between the cutter and the spindle to connect them.

[0003] A conventional cutter holder assembly comprises a cutter holder and a cutting unit. The cutting unit is a rod with two opposing ends. A cutter is positioned at one of the two ends of the cutting unit. The other of the two ends of the cutting unit is fixed within the cutter holder. However, when the cutting unit and cutter holder are actuated to mill or drill the workpiece, a large resistance force is exerted on the cutting unit and cutter holder, which is why the cutting unit and cutter holder tend to rotate relative to each other.

[0004] The cutting unit and cutter holder, which simply rotate relative to each other, cause machining inefficiency and even lead to a negative effect on the workpiece.

[0005] To overcome the deficiencies of the conventional cutter holder assembly, the present utility model provides a cutter holder assembly with a hinge connector to mitigate or avoid the above-mentioned problems.

[0006] The main object of the present utility model is to provide a cutter holder assembly having a joint connector capable of firmly combining a cutting unit and a cutter holder thereof.

[0007] The cutter holder assembly includes a cutter holder, a cutting unit, a joint connector, and a nut. A diameter of the tapered hole 12 gradually decreases toward the receiving hole 12. The connecting hole 13 extends from the other of the two ends of the cutter holder 10 toward the bottom surface 111 of the receiving hole 11. The connecting hole 13 communicates with the receiving hole and has an internal thread. The mounting portion 14 and the conical hole 12 are positioned at the same end of the cutter holder 10. The mounting portion 14 has an external thread.

[0012] With reference to the Fig. 1 to 7, the cutting unit 20 includes an assembly portion 21, an extension rod 22, an engaging hole 23A, an inlet channel 24, a communication channel 25, two outlet channels 26, and two machining tools 27. The assembly portion 21 is conical and has a pressed end and an insertion end that are opposite in position to each other. The insertion end is inserted into the conical hole 12. A diameter of the assembly portion 21 gradually decreases from the pressed end to the insertion end of the assembly portion 21. The extension rod 22 extends from the pressed end of the assembly portion 21 and has a machining end extending from the assembly portion 21. The engaging hole 23A extends from the insertion end to the pressed end and has a polygonal contour. The inlet channel 24 extends from a bottom of the engagement hole 23A toward the machining end of the extension rod 22. The communication channel 25 is in fluid communication with the inlet channel 24 and extends toward the machining end of the extension rod 22. The two outlet channels 26 are positioned adjacent to the machining end of the extension rod 22 and are in fluid communication with the communication channel 25. The two machining tools 27 are mounted on the machining end of the extension rod 22.

[0013] With reference to the Fig. 1 to 7, the engagement hole 23A, the inlet channel 24 and the communication channel 25 are coaxially in fluid communication with each other.

[0014] With reference to the Fig. 1 to 7, the hinge connector 30 is positioned within the cutter holder 10 and includes an abutting block 31, a connecting portion 32, an engaging portion 33A, two keyholes 34, and a communication hole 35. The abutting block 31 is positioned within the receiving hole 10 and is a block having a first end surface 311 and a second end surface 312 that are opposite to each other in position. The connecting portion 32 is positioned on the first end surface 311 and has an external thread. The connecting portion 32 is screwed within the connecting hole 13 of the cutter holder 10 and causes the first end surface 311 of the abutting block 31 to abut against the bottom surface 111 of the receiving hole 11.

[0015] With reference to the Fig. 1 to 7, the engaging portion 33A is positioned on the second end surface 312 of the abutting block 31 and has a polygonal cross section.
