Description

[0001] The invention relates to a modular protection of at least one object against weather influences, in particular for the protection of plants in outdoor areas, as well as a shaped block and a cover according to the preamble of the first, seventh and fourteenth claims.

[0002] There are a variety of protective devices, particularly those for weathering and winter protection for plants, with which the plants can be enclosed in order to protect them from frost, cold and other weather influences, especially during the winter months outdoors.

[0003] For example, DE 10 2015 107 826 B3 discloses a round, demountable container with thermal insulation that can be used to protect a plant's root zone against frost. The demountable container has staves connected by tongue-and-groove joints as the container wall and a container base, with the container held together exclusively by tongue-and-groove joints. A number of chambers filled with air or insulating material are provided for thermal insulation—also against frost. However, this solution is relatively complex and is only suitable and intended for the plant's root zone.

[0004] A combination plant container with a connecting clip and stabilizing rail is described in DE 86 24 623 A1. Individual plant containers are connected to each other using a connecting clip and a stabilizing rail. These plant containers also only enclose the root area of the plants and are costly due to their multi-part construction.

[0005] The document US 6,282,835 B1 describes a flexible plant protection system with flexible pipes connected by a ring that can be filled.

[0006] Known solutions are also plant tents or protective coverings according to the documents US 2022 / 0030780 A1, US 4,665,646 A, US 6,640,491 B1, US 6944989 B1, WO 95 / 15676 A1, WO 2010 / 068234 A2, which can be put together from several different parts and have a complicated structure.

[0007] Furthermore, wrappings and bags that are placed over the plants are known, some of which are equipped with supporting rod systems that carry the film protection. A bubble wrap cover with a heating device is described, for example, in EP 1 774 848 A1.

[0008] These known solutions have the problem that, on the one hand, they cannot be used modularly and thus grow with the building, and on the other hand, they are susceptible to wind due to large surfaces with comparatively thin protective materials.

[0009] During high wind loads, it's more common for state-of-the-art winter protection devices to crack or fly off in pieces, thereby polluting the environment. Furthermore, there's a risk that large amounts of snow may accumulate on the aforementioned protection devices, making them unable to withstand the snow load.

[0010] Furthermore, a wide variety of shaped bricks are known which can be connected to one another and placed on top of one another using interlocking shaped elements.

[0011] For example, DE 1 067 007 B describes a component for a toy, in which the components are plugged together using the plug-in principle. This component has protruding pins on one side and pins on its inside. The pins of one component can be clamped between the inner pins of another component.

[0012] The protruding tenons of one component clamp between the inner wall and an inner tenon of another component.

[0013] The design of a block for a modular system is described in design patent USD791885S. The block has outward-facing rectangular projections and internal clamping walls. The projections of a block engage and are clamped between the clamping walls when assembled. Such building blocks are also described in various colors and sizes at www.everblocksystems.de. The large "4×2" blocks presented there have dimensions of 30.48 cm (L) x 15.24 cm (W) x 15.24 cm (H) (+2.54 cm for studs). They weigh 1.05 kg (2.4 lbs). The building blocks can be used to assemble seating, bars and counters, shelves, consoles and tables, columns and decorative pedestals, lecterns and podiums, catering furniture, trade fair and exhibition items, office furnishings and fun objects.

[0014] An application of the two aforementioned solutions as very large building elements that are translucent and intended for use outdoors for several months, in particular over the winter, is not disclosed.

[0015] Furthermore, for example, the publication US 2011 / 0247 280 A1 describes a hollow glass or plastic construction element. However, the glass elements can only be secured one above the other using interlocking molded elements. How the lateral connection in the area of the smooth side walls is to be realized is not disclosed. It is suggested that a single glass element could also accommodate a plant for protection against the cold, but it is not considered that the elements could be used to construct an enclosure surrounding plants for protection against the cold. Another disadvantage is the complicated structural design of these building blocks.

[0016] A glass block with a frame made of integral foam is disclosed in DE 32 33 470 A1. The frame has abutting surfaces with projections and recesses that enable plug-in connections. The frame also features sealing projections. The space between the sealing projections serves for the insertion of reinforcing bars made of flat profiles. The glass blocks are installed without additional adhesives, allowing the assembled walls to be dismantled and reused. The disadvantage of this solution is the high manufacturing complexity of the glass blocks. Furthermore, additional connecting elements in the form of reinforcement bars are required. The construction of plant protection walls against cold is not considered.

[0017] EP 2 246 498 A2 also describes a combination of a transparent building block and at least one fascia component for use in building structures, for example, in exhibitions or play areas. The block has side walls and a top surface, and the top surface has formations that engage with an adjacent or subsequent block during use, the fascia component covering at least one wall of the block. This building block also has a complex structural design. The production of plant protection walls against cold is not considered.

[0018] Further modular building blocks are described in the publications DE 20 2010 017 057 U1, EP 1 988 228 B1, DE 198 23 688 A1, DE 94 10 141 U1, and DE 196 10 247 A1. However, these are not translucent and therefore not suitable for protecting plants from the weather for several months.

[0019] Due to these challenges, the object of the invention is to develop a variable, degradable modular protection of at least one object against weather influences, e.g. against frost (winter protection), preferably for plants in pots or even when planted out in the open, which can advantageously be used over several months.

[0020] This problem is solved by the features of the first, seventh and fourteenth claims.

[0021] Advantageous embodiments arise from the subclaims.

[0022] The modular protection of at least one object against the effects of weather according to the invention is used in particular for the protection of plants in outdoor areas, wherein the protection is variable in its dimensions and the object / plant can be assembled from a plurality of translucent / transparent shaped blocks in the form of a wall surrounding the plant, wherein the shaped blocks can be assembled by means of corresponding and interlocking shaped elements and wherein a cover can be attached to the upper side of the wall composed of the shaped blocks if required.

[0023] Furthermore, the invention relates to a shaped block for producing the protection and a cover therefor.

[0024] The cover is preferably in the form of a plate made of solid material or of foil and can be brought into engagement with the upper shaped elements of the shaped blocks forming the wall.

[0025] The shaped blocks are in particular cuboid-shaped and have a plurality of projections on one side and recesses on the opposite side, wherein the projections of one shaped block can be brought into engagement with the recesses of at least one other shaped block.

[0026] This means that the shaped blocks can be put together in a similar way to toy blocks.

[0027] The protection against weather influences can advantageously be varied in its circumference and / or height by changing the number of assembled shaped blocks used.

[0028] This makes it easy to adjust the size of the protection to the size of the object or plant.

[0029] Of course, it is also possible to surround several objects, preferably plants, with the winter protection and thus protect them.

[0030] It is possible to equip the shelter with at least one lighting and / or at least one heating system and / or at least one thermostatic device.

[0031] Of course, the heating can also be controlled by means of an integrated thermostat so that the temperature within the winter protection is at least above 0°C, whereby in such a design the heating is switched off again at a temperature in the range of 3°C to 5°C.

[0032] The power supply for the heating and / or lighting can be provided via a cable connected to the power grid or via a photovoltaic system.

[0033] Alternatively, it is also possible to combine the winter protection with at least one photovoltaic module, which is arranged, for example, on the cover or forms the cover.

[0034] The molded block used for protection is transparent / translucent and features recesses on one side and protrusions on the opposite side. This allows a large number of molded blocks to be stacked on top of each other and connected side by side, forming a wall surrounding the plant(s). The protrusions are preferably in the form of studs. Naturally, not only plants but also other objects can be protected from the elements in this way.

[0035] The molded block has a plurality of walls and chambers formed between them, from an open bottom side towards a closed top side, which are open to the bottom side of the molded block. This creates a multi-walled hollow chamber profile which provides good thermal insulation.

[0036] When the shaped blocks are stacked on top of each other, the chambers that are open at the bottom are closed, which also benefits thermal insulation.

[0037] The wall thickness of the side walls, the top, and the supporting walls, as well as the upward-facing studs of a shaped block, is preferably between 0.6 mm and 2.5 mm. The wall thickness of the outer walls, including the studs, is preferably 1.1 mm to 1.5 mm, and particularly preferably 1.3 mm.

[0038] The supporting walls / stiffening elements preferably have a wall thickness between 0.6 mm and 1.0 mm and particularly preferably 0.8 mm

[0039] The shaped block has external dimensions ranging from 400 mm to 600 mm in length, 100 mm to 300 mm in height, and 100 mm to 150 mm in depth. It preferably has dimensions (without studs) of length = 500 mm × height = 250 mm × depth = 125 mm.

[0040] Due to these large dimensions, weather protection, especially winter protection, can be quickly and easily assembled from the shaped blocks.

[0041] A molded block preferably weighs between 1.5 kg and 3.9 kg, depending on the dimensions (L x H x D) and the wall thickness of the outer walls, including the studs, supporting walls, and stiffening elements. The molded block preferably weighs between 2.0 kg and 2.5 kg, particularly preferably between 2.1 kg.

[0042] Due to this high weight, the resulting enclosure for the plants is resistant to weather influences associated with higher wind speeds.

[0043] It is possible that a heating device, preferably with a thermostat, is arranged in the housing, which is activated, for example, at temperatures close to zero degrees Celsius and is deactivated again when a predetermined temperature is reached, for example 3°C or 5°C.

[0044] Furthermore, lighting with a twilight switch or timer can be installed in the enclosure, which illuminates the winter protection from the inside when it is dark.

[0045] Heating and lighting can also be combined. The power supply can be provided, for example, via a mains connection via cable.

[0046] However, it is also possible to equip the cover with a photovoltaic system or to use the solar cells of a photovoltaic system as the cover. In this case, the cover or the solar panels serving as the cover can have at least one battery on its underside, which is charged by the solar panels and supplies power to the heating and / or lighting.

[0047] The heater and / or lighting can also be located on the underside of the cover.

[0048] It is also possible to equip the cover with at least one window, especially if the shelter is also intended to be used as a greenhouse, for example. This window can be opened, for example, if the temperature inside the enclosure / shelter (weather protection) is too high.

[0049] Specifically, the innovative protection is implemented using equally sized, transparent, double-walled plastic system components (here called pre-shaped blocks), which, according to defined grid dimensions, enable the simple and modular construction of the protection against weather influences.

[0050] By purchasing individual system components, the protection against weather influences can be extended in width and height at any time.

[0051] In contrast to the well-known plant tents or bags, the transparent, double-walled plastic system components have a significantly better resistance to wind and snow loads and other external influences and can even be reused several times.

[0052] Protection, especially against the elements, such as winter protection, could also be intelligently and smartly supplemented with other innovative components such as integrated LED lighting, thermostatic devices, heating systems, etc. However, due to the use of a transparent plastic, natural daylight is primarily used, especially for overwintering the plants, and the multi-chamber system modules utilize air as a natural insulation material. This alone creates optimal conditions for overwintering Mediterranean plants, for example, outdoors, possibly even without additional lighting or heating.

[0053] Preferably, the system component (molded block) and / or the cover are made of a transparent, translucent plastic that is particularly weather-resistant and frost-resistant. Furthermore, it should also be UV-resistant.

[0054] Materials used for this purpose include polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN), etc.

[0055] The system modules and / or the cover are preferably made of polypropylene (PP) or styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN).

[0056] Advantageously, an upper cover in the form of a foil or a plate is used to prevent snow or hail from falling on the object or plant.

[0057] The preferred cover is a plate, which can also be made of polycarbonate (PC).

[0058] The cover has recesses on its underside that correspond to the knobs of the upper molded blocks and can be brought into engagement with them.

[0059] It is possible to combine the winter protection with a photovoltaic system, which is mounted on the cover or even forms the cover itself. This can be used to power the lighting and / or heating and / or thermostatic devices.

[0060] Alternatively, only one battery can be provided on the underside of the cover or in another position to ensure power supply for heating and / or lighting.

[0061] Regardless, additional elements such as LED lighting and heating can also be connected and operated to the local power grid through a simple cable feedthrough.

[0062] The modular protection can also be used for a greenhouse, for example. One, several, or all of the greenhouse's walls can be constructed from the system's building blocks / prefabricated blocks.

[0063] It is also possible to build a raised bed from the system modules, which can also be provided with a cover if necessary.

[0064] The invention is explained in more detail using exemplary embodiments and associated drawings.

[0065] They show: Fig. 1 a three-dimensional view of a shaped block with upward-facing studs, Fig. 2 a front view of the shaped block according to Fig. 1, Fig. 3 a side view of the shaped block according to Fig. 1, Fig. 4 a top view of the shaped block according to Fig. 1, Fig. 5 a view of the shaped block from below according to Fig. 1, Fig. 6 the section AA according to Fig. 5, Fig. 7 the section BB according to Fig. 5, Fig. 8 a three-dimensional representation of a section along the plane BB according to Fig. 5, Fig. 9 the representation of assembled shaped blocks of a first level from above, Fig. 10 the representation of assembled shaped blocks of a second level from above, Fig. 11 the representation of a cover plate from below with recesses corresponding to the number of studs of the top row of the assembled shaped blocks, Fig. 12 the representation of a cover plate from below with continuous grooves corresponding to the position and width of two adjacent rows of studs, Fig. 13 the representation of a housed plant without cover in top view, Fig. 14 the side view of a housed plant, Fig. 15 Side view of a cover with a photovoltaic system and a heater and lighting on the underside, Fig. 16 foil solar module, glued to the cover and with battery attached to the underside of the cover, heating, lighting, Fig. 17 Solar module, which forms the cover and with battery, heating, lighting attached to the bottom.

[0066] In the Fig. 1 to 8 is a molded block 1 made of translucent plastic for the production of an enclosure, here for example a plant ( Fig. 8 and Fig. 9), shown in different views.

[0067] Fig. 1 shows a three-dimensional view of a shaped block 1 with upwardly facing knobs 2, the Fig. 2 the front view, Fig. 3 the side view, Fig. 4 a top view of the shaped block according to Fig. 1 and Fig. 5 a view of the shaped block 1 from below according to Fig. 1.

[0068] Various sectional views of the shaped block 1 are from the Fig. 6 to 8 can be seen.

[0069] The shaped block 1 has a length L, a height H, and a depth T. For example, the length L is 500mm, the height H is 200mm to 300mm, and the depth T is 120mm to 130mm. There are four circumferential walls W with outer sides 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, an upper wall W with a top side 1.5, to which the studs 2 are connected, and a bottom side 1.6, which is open at the bottom.

[0070] The upward-facing studs 2 are arranged here in two parallel rows with 8 studs 2 each and at a distance or grid dimension 2a from each other and have a width 2b from their center to each other of 60mm to 65mm, preferably 62.5mm.

[0071] The studs 2 can be made of solid material, but here they are hollow and open toward the underside 1.6. They have an outer diameter 2D between 30 and 40 mm, preferably 36 mm, and an inner diameter 2d, depending on the wall thickness s. The height 2h of the studs is 15 mm to 25 mm, preferably 20 mm.

[0072] In the Fig. 1 and Fig. 4 shows a sprue 3, which is preferably produced in parts made of plastic and manufactured by injection molding.

[0073] Within the shaped block 1, 1.6 supporting walls 4 extend from the bottom side, which is open at the bottom (see Fig. 4 to 8) in the form of hollow tubes upwards to the wall W at the top 1.5.

[0074] The support walls 4 are circular in cross-section in the middle along the longitudinal axis A and have an outer diameter 4D and an inner diameter 4d (see Fig. 5).

[0075] Furthermore, semicircular support elements 4 are provided adjacent to the inside of the walls W on sides 1.1, 1.3 and quarter-circular support elements 4 are provided in the corner areas.

[0076] Cavities H1 are formed in the support elements 4 and cavities H2 are formed between the support walls.

[0077] In Fig. 4 the outer contours of the support elements 4 are shown in dashed lines.

[0078] The distance 4a, see Fig. 5, between the convexly curved outer contours (not designated) of four support elements 4 is dimensioned in such a way that a stud 2 of another shaped block 1 can be inserted or clamped therebetween.

[0079] From the upper side 1.5, the support elements 4 provided with a hollow space H1 extend downwards towards the lower side 1.6. From the direction of the lower side 1.6 in Fig. 5 and the sectional views in the Fig. 6, Fig. 7 and Fig. This is also evident in Figure 8. The cavities H2 can be seen between the support elements 4.

[0080] For stabilization, supporting walls 5 are provided transversely to the longitudinal axis A between the semicircular supporting elements 4, which border the sides 1.1 and 1.3, and the circular supporting element 4 arranged therebetween, which likewise extend from the underside 1.6 to the wall W on the upper side 1.5.

[0081] The walls W, the support elements 4 and the support walls 5 as well as the hollow studs 2 preferably have a wall thickness s which is between 0.6 mm and 2.5 mm.

[0082] Preferably, the wall thickness s of the walls W including the knobs is 1.1 mm to 1.5 mm and particularly preferably 1.3 mm.

[0083] The support elements 4 and the support walls 5 preferably have a wall thickness s between 0.6 mm and 1 mm and particularly preferably 0.8 mm Thus, the support elements 4 and the support walls 5 preferably have a smaller wall thickness than the A walls W.

[0084] According to Fig. 8, in order to fit two shaped blocks 1 together, the studs 2 of one shaped block 1 are inserted in the direction of the underside 1.6 of another shaped block 1 into the cavities H2 which are each present between four support elements 4.

[0085] The knobs 2 are clamped between the convexly curved outer contours of the four support elements 4.

[0086] In Fig. For the sake of simplicity, only the outer contours of the studs 2 are shown in stylized form in Figure 8 and the arrows indicate the insertion direction.

[0087] In the assembled state, the studs 2 of a shaped block 1 are inserted at their outer diameter from the direction of the underside 1.6 of another shaped block 1 into its cavities H2 and thus clamped between the convex outer contours of four support elements 4 each.

[0088] The knobs 2 are arranged on the narrow and long upper side 1.5 and the corresponding cavities H2 between the support elements 4 are accessible from the direction of the open lower side 1.6.

[0089] Fig. 9 shows a first layer of four rows R1 to R4 of shaped bricks 1, which are adjacent to each other at right angles and form a square here.

[0090] The (outer) side 1.1 of the shaped block 1 of the first row R1, which is located on the far right here, is bordered by the front side, here the second side 1.2 of the first shaped block 1 of the second row R2.

[0091] The last shaped block 1 of the second row R2 borders with its long side / side 1.1 on the front side / side 1.2 of the right shaped block 1 of the third row R3.

[0092] The shaped block 1 of the third row R3 on the left here borders with one long side, here the side 1.1, on the front side, here the second side 1.2, of the shaped block 1 of the fourth row R4, which adjoins it at right angles.

[0093] The opposite end of shaped block 1 of the fourth row R4 (shown here lying on top) borders with its long side / side 1.1 on the front side 1.2 of the left shaped block 1 of row R1.

[0094] Fig. 10 shows a second layer with four square adjacent rows R1 to R4 of shaped bricks 1, which in the corner areas are mirror images of the variant in Fig. 9 so that when they are put together, a shaped block 1 of the second layer reaches over two underlying shaped blocks of the layer below and connects them.

[0095] Fig. 11 shows the underside of a cover plate 11, which is provided with recesses / holes 11.1 all around, which correspond to the studs 2 of the uppermost layer of the shaped blocks 1 and can be plugged onto them.

[0096] According to Fig. 12, the underside of the cover plate 11 can also be provided with grooves 11.2 running from one side to the other, the width of which corresponds to the width of the two parallel "dimpled strips" and the depth of which, not designated, corresponds to the height of the dimples 2,

[0097] The grooves 11.2 then engage over the parallel “dimpled strips” of the top layer of the shaped blocks 11.

[0098] In Fig. 13 shows a plant 6 enclosed in a protective cover, here a winter protection S, which is arranged in a tub 7, shown in a top view without a cover. The winter protection S is composed of shaped blocks 1. A heater 8 and a lighting system 9 are arranged in the interior. These are operated, for example, via an externally supplied power cable 10.

[0099] Fig. Figure 14 shows a side view of a plant 6 enclosed in a shelter, here winter protection S, planted in a tub 7. Here, too, a heater 8 and a light 9 are arranged inside the winter protection S, which is composed of shaped blocks 1. These are supplied with power, for example, via an external power cable 10 from the mains. It can be seen that a cover 11 is arranged on the top.

[0100] It is of course also possible to enclose other objects with the protection according to the invention, e.g. art objects that are located outdoors and are to be protected from the weather and / or several plants.

[0101] Advantageously, the objects enclosed in the protection are still recognizable to an observer through the use of transparent shaped blocks. It is also possible to build one, several or all walls of a greenhouse or raised bed from the shaped blocks.

[0102] The cover can be manufactured according to the perimeter dimensions of the enclosure walls. According to a variant not shown, it is possible to integrate at least one window into the cover, which can be opened manually or automatically as needed.

[0103] In Fig. Figure 15 shows a side view of a cover 11 combined with a photovoltaic system 12 and having a heater 8 and lighting 9 on the underside. The photovoltaic system 12 has angled solar panels 12.1 attached to the top of the cover 11. These feed a battery 13, which is also attached to the underside of the cover 11 and supplies power to the heater 8 and lighting 9. The heater 8 is, for example, an infrared heater, and the lighting 9 is an LED.

[0104] According to Fig. 16, a film-like flexible solar panel 14 is attached flatly to the top of the cover 11, which feeds a battery 13 attached to the underside of the cover, which also supplies the heater 8 and / or lighting 9 arranged on the underside of the cover 11 with power.

[0105] Fig. 17 shows a plate-shaped solar element 15 as cover 11 with battery 13, heater 8 and lighting 9 attached to the underside. Several solar elements 15 connected to one another can also form the cover 11.

[0106] The heater 8 is, for example, an infrared heater in the form of a plate or foil and the lighting 9 is an LED lighting.

[0107] In addition to the above-mentioned examples, a wide variety of other variants of winter protection are possible.

[0108] For example, the cover 11, if it is plate-shaped, can also have other recesses at least on its underside than in the Fig. 11 and Fig. 12, with which it can be plugged onto the studs of the top row of shaped blocks 1.

[0109] Due to the large length L of the shaped blocks 1 of preferably 500mm and their height H of preferably 250mm, a circumferentially closed enclosure as protection against the effects of the weather, such as winter protection, can be quickly and easily erected and can be easily dismantled again in the spring.

[0110] The relatively high weight of the shaped blocks 1 ensures high resistance when assembled, even in high wind speeds.

[0111] The hollow profile of the shaped blocks 1, which has a large number of cavities H1, H2, offers good thermal protection for the plants.

[0112] The transparent and thus translucent shaped stones 1 and the likewise translucent cover 11 ensure that the plant or plants 6 are supplied with sufficient light.

[0113] If necessary, watering of the plants 6 when using a bucket 7 is possible if the cover 11 is slightly raised.

[0114] It is also possible to arrange the cover 11 on the housing in such a way that it opens automatically in the event of strong or stronger solar radiation and the resulting higher temperatures within the housing, similar to what is the case, for example, in a greenhouse with an automatic window opener. Window openers in the form of temperature-controlled, fully automatic devices without electricity or batteries are already state of the art for greenhouses. Since the cylinder reacts to room temperature, the window, in this case the cover (or possibly a window located in the cover - not shown) opens and closes automatically when the temperature changes.

[0115] The cover 11 is cut from a translucent plate, preferably made of polycarbonate glass, according to the base area of the enclosure to be manufactured and is provided on its later underside with the recesses which can be brought into engagement with the shaped elements of the shaped blocks, so that the cover rests positively on the uppermost layer of the enclosure.

[0116] If the plant's root area is in the ground, sufficient moisture will be supplied to the roots through the surrounding soil, even if the plant is covered by winter protection, so that lifting the cover for watering may not be necessary.

[0117] Although there are many different variants of interlocking shaped blocks and a multitude of possibilities for the design of weather protection, in particular winter protection, the solution according to the invention with the appropriately dimensioned and transparent interlocking shaped blocks offers for the first time a surprisingly simple solution for the production of the protection according to the invention, which can be erected and dismantled very quickly and easily.
