Description

1. Technical area

[0001] The invention relates to a technical system for medical support in the initial assessment of symptoms in children. It comprises a software-supported evaluation unit, a user interface for data entry, and interfaces for connecting medical sensors for the automated generation of care recommendations. The system also contains modules for health organization in everyday family life. 2. State of the art

[0002] To date, digital tools exist for displaying fever values or for scheduling appointments, but there is no holistic solution that combines structured symptom inputs, real-time measurement data from sensors, artificial intelligence for evaluation, and decision logic in a technically integrated system. 3. Object of the invention

[0003] The aim of the invention is to provide a system that: • Symptoms of illness in children are recorded and analyzed in a structured manner, • Automatically incorporates sensor data, • generates recommendations for action using intelligent evaluation units, • Supports dosage decisions for common medications, • depicts organizational aspects of children’s health care. 4. Solution according to the invention

[0004] The system consists of at least the following modules, which can be executed together on an electronic device: • Data entry module: Structured input mask for symptom recording by users. • Sensor data module: Interface for automatic data transfer from external medical measuring devices such as fever thermometers or pulse oximeters via wireless connection (e.g. Bluetooth). • Evaluation unit: AI-supported analysis of the recorded symptoms and sensor values to classify the clinical picture. • Decision logic: Algorithm for issuing a care recommendation (e.g. home observation, pediatrician visit, emergency room). • Medication module: Suggestion logic for the dosage of fever-reducing medications taking into account age, weight and time intervals. • Test module: Integration of the results of rapid tests (e.g. influenza, RSV, COVID-19) into the evaluation. • Image analysis module: Detection of e.g. skin rashes via the device’s camera unit and AI-supported pattern recognition. • Management module: Virtual medicine cabinet for managing existing medicines (e.g. using a scanning function). • Localization module: e.g. display of open pharmacies based on location. • Reminder module: Management of examination appointments and vaccinations with notification function. 5. Advantages of the invention

[0005] The system offers an integrated technical solution to support initial medical assessment and care preparation for children. It is the first to combine structured data entry, sensor data, AI-supported analytics, and organizational support functions in a compact design on a single electronic device.

Claims

[1] System for automated symptom evaluation and decision support for medical care of children, comprising: - a user interface for entering symptoms, - an interface for the acquisition of sensor data from medical devices, - an evaluation unit for AI-supported analysis of the data, - and an edition to display care recommendations. [2] The system of claim 1, wherein the interface is designed for wireless medical devices such as clinical thermometers and pulse oximeters. [3] A system according to any preceding claim, including dosing logic for fever-reducing medications, including age- and weight-specific calculation and reminder of dosage intervals. [4] System according to one of the preceding claims, in which an image analysis module for detecting, among other things, dermatological abnormalities is integrated. [5] System according to one of the preceding claims, in which test results from rapid infection tests are included in the evaluation. [6] System according to one of the preceding claims, which includes a module for location-based pharmacy search. [7] A system according to any preceding claim, comprising a virtual drug management module. [8] System according to one of the preceding claims, which includes an appointment management module for reminding children of medical examinations and vaccinations.
