AI Technical Summary
The secure detachment of Dowel pins from plaster models in dental technology during telescopic work is challenging, leading to potential damage and increased error rates.
A positioning aid, PinPla, is used as a place-holder attachment on the Dowel pin before casting, featuring a hollow chamber to facilitate easy removal post-casting by providing an opening for the pin and plastic stump to be pushed out from below.
Ensures non-destructive removal of Dowel pins and plastic stubs, reduces errors, and allows milling directly on the model without transferring it, saving time and resources.

Abstract
Description
Technical Features• Volume: about 0.188 cm 3• Surface area: about 6.22 cm 2• Size (B×T×H): about 7.0×6.0×14.0 mm• Euler number: 2→ Topologisch correct, no holes• Material: 3D Pressure ABSTechnical Description - PinPlaDesignation of the Invention:PinPla - Positioning aid for removing Dowel pins in the production of plastic stubs for plaster models in dental technologyTechnical Field:The invention relates to the field of dental technology, in particular to the production of stump models during telescopic work with Dowel pins and plastic stubs.Prior Art:When milling models are produced in telescopic technology, an over imprint is generally taken in which the prepared teeth or the primary parts and also adjacent teeth are filled with pattern resin and provided with Dowel pins. After casting with plaster, plaster models with cast-in pins are produced. The secure detachment of the stubs represents a challenge here.Preparation of the Invention:The present invention relates to an auxiliary means with the designation PinPla, which is placed on the Dowel pin as a place-holder-like attachment. The application takes place before casting the impression with gypsum. The PinPla has an external cylindrical or slightly conical shape with a centered, mating hole for receiving a standard Dowel pin. Inside is a hollow chamber with a pin which prevents the pin from being pushed through to the ground. This ensures a smooth later removal of the pin from the model. After casting, base-mounting and trimming of the plaster model, the front side of the PinPla is usually already exposed. If not, it can be opened by light milling without damaging the model or pin. The resulting cavity allows the pin and the plastic stump connected thereto to be pushed out from below with an instrument.Operation in Stitch Points:• The PinPla is fitted onto a brass Dowel pin located in a plastic stump anchored with pattern resin.• During pouring, the PinPla remains in the pattern and provides an opening during later trimming of the base region.• This opening allows the pin together with the plastic stump to be pressed out easily from the front / bottom using an instrument.Advantages of the Invention:• Non-destructive removal of telescopic stump, adjacent tooth and gum mask• Milling directly on the model without transfer• Reduced error potential, since the transmission of the telescope is eliminated• Saving of a Frisch model• Millable front wall with defined wall thickness for easy openingStructural features:• Pin hole with a precise fit: The Dowel pin is seated firmly enough to not slip during the model production, but loose enough to be removed again without any effort• Hollow chamber with small pins in the interior: Prevents complete slipping of the pin and facilitates subsequent removal• Outer shape: Stable and at the same time designed so that the front wall can easily be milled if necessary• Wall thickness: Ideally balanced between stability and milling ability• Material compatibility: Optimal for common Dowel pins and standard plaster modelsReference to the variant:This posterior version is optimized for broader regions in the lateral tooth region. A separate, slenderer variant for the front tooth region (anterior) is likewise provided and, if appropriate, smaller "addon" variants for narrow space conditions. Therefore, the dimensions are all only about specifications. The other variants may differ slightly therefrom.Brief Description of the Drawings:The drawing (attached) shows the PinPla posterior variant. Visible are:• Upper pin receiving opening• cylindrical body• Hollow chamber with pins• obliquely tapering front wall to the milling openingIndustrial applicability:The invention is simple to produce, cost-effective (e.g. in 3D printing) and can be used in dental laboratories worldwide.
Claims
Utility model claim (main claim): The subject matter is a dental aid for producing removable plastic stubs in plaster models for Dowelpine, in particular for use in telescopic technology, characterized bya hollow-body-like design with a central opening for receiving a Dowelpine with an exact fit, an internal hollow chamber for positioning in the plaster model and an integrated stop for limiting the insertion depth of the pin.Utility model claim (dependent): aid according to claim 1, characterised in that the external geometry is designed such that it becomes visible during the model production during trimming and enables a targeted exposure by milling without damaging the pin or the surrounding model material.Utility model claim (dependent): aid according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the central opening has a tolerance which ensures a firm fit of the pin, but permits easy fitting and removal without deformation or damage.Utility model claim (dependent): aid according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the hollow chamber is provided with an axial pin which protects the pin from slipping through and facilitates removal from the model.Utility model claim (dependent): aid according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it is available in different sizes and shapes for use in the front tooth region (anterior) and in the side tooth region (posterior).
