Abstract
Description
Technical area:
[0001] The invention relates to a portable, non-invasive system for recording and processing EEG signals for thought-based control of technical devices, in particular in smart horns, vehicles, medical facilities, laboratories and industrial applications. State of the art:
[0002] Currently available brain-computer communication (BCI) systems often rely on invasive technology or large-format helmets. Individual commercial EEG headbands or headsets are usually limited to simple control commands in computer systems. A fully wearable solution based on an ear clip or headband for wireless, decentralized control of physical devices in multiple application areas does not yet exist. Object of the invention:
[0003] The aim of the invention is to develop a universally applicable EEG-based control system that can switch or control external devices without invasive interventions, without voice input and without physical contact, solely through mental intention - wireless, safe, flexible and suitable for everyday use. Solution:
[0004] The invention comprises a system consisting of: - a wearable EEG sensor in the form of an ear clip, headband or similar design, - a microprocessor with a wireless communication unit (e.g. Bluetooth, WiFi), - software with individual EEG pattern recognition, - one or more receiver modules for controlling devices, - a user-related assignment of EEG signatures to specific switching impulses. Areas of application: - Smart Home: Control of lights, blinds, multimedia, doors, heating - Vehicle technology: Activation of on-board functions such as air conditioning, navigation, windows - Medicine and care: Control of nursing beds, medical displays, call systems - Company infrastructure: access control, machine operation, laboratory control Advantages of the invention: - wearable, non-invasive design (ear clip or headband) - high suitability for everyday use and discretion - individually adaptive software for each EEG profile - contact-free, hygienic system for medicine and care - no language, no keypad required - easy retrofitting of existing rooms or equipment Drawing note:
[0005] The attached drawing shows an example: Fig. 1 - portable EEG sensor (1) Fig. 2 - Transmitter unit with software processor (2) Fig. 3 - Room or vehicle receivers (3)
Claims
[1] Thought-controlled control system comprising: - a portable EEG module for non-invasive recording of electrical brain signals, - the EEG module is designed in the form of an ear clip, headband or a similar construction, - software for individual pattern recognition from the EEG data, - a wireless communication unit for transmitting control commands to external receivers, - at least one receiver to convert these commands into actions on devices or systems. [2] Control system according to claim 1, wherein the wireless communication is via Bluetooth, WLAN or a proprietary radio protocol. [3] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the EEG module is designed as a discreet ear clip and can be worn for everyday use. [4] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the EEG module is designed in the form of a headband or forehead strap. [5] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the system is trained to the specific EEG signature of a user. [6] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein defined functions are specifically triggered by defined thought impulses (e.g. concentration, relaxation). [7] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, usable for controlling devices in smart homes, automotive technology, medical and care facilities and company infrastructure. [8] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the control commands are transmitted in encrypted form to prevent unauthorized access. [9] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the system is modularly expandable by additional receivers or software functions. [10] Control system according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the EEG module serves for authentication and access control.
