Abstract
Description
Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to protective devices for portable electronic devices, in particular for smartphones, tablets and laptops. It relates to a protective case consisting of four individually attachable corner protectors that protect the sensitive corners of the devices and the camera area against impacts and scratches. State of the art
[0002] Conventional protective cases enclose the entire device, thereby increasing its height and weight. This impairs handling and the device's appearance. Partial frame or corner protection systems are also available; however, they do not prevent devices with a protruding camera module or uneven back from wobbling on a flat surface or from resting on the surface with the camera lens. The problem underlying the invention
[0003] The invention is based on the objective of creating a protective case that reliably protects the sensitive corners and camera areas of the device, enables the device to lie flat and without wobbling, protects the camera lens from damage and dirt, and at the same time ensures a harmonious, almost seamless appearance between the device and the protective element. Solution to the task
[0004] To solve this problem, a protective cover is proposed, consisting of four separate corner protection elements which are attached to the respective device corners using double-sided adhesive tape.
[0005] Each protective element has a recessed inner surface that completely contains the adhesive tape, ensuring it remains concealed when installed. The wall thickness of the protective element decreases continuously from the reinforced corner to the edges, creating a smooth transition to the device surface.
[0006] In the area of any camera lens, a raised section is provided on the back to prevent the lens from touching the surface if the device is placed on a surface or dropped. When mounted, the backs of the four protective elements form a common contact surface that is slightly higher than the camera lens, ensuring the device rests securely and without wobbling.
[0007] The protective elements preferably consist of an elastic or semi-elastic plastic, for example thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), silicone or polycarbonate, and are connected to both the product itself and the device by the adhesive tape, so that a permanent, yet residue-free attachment is possible. Advantages of the invention
[0008] The invention ensures that the camera of a device is reliably protected from contact with the surface when it is dropped or placed on a flat surface.
[0009] Thanks to the shared support surface of the four corner protection elements, the device lies stably and without wobbling.
[0010] Furthermore, the design of the corner elements ensures a smooth, visually appealing transition between the device and the protective element, while the adhesive surface remains completely concealed.
[0011] Since the protective elements can be attached individually, the user can replace or remove them as needed without leaving any residue.
[0012] The invention is universally applicable to various types of devices, especially smartphones, tablets and laptops. [0013] The embodiments shown in the figures serve to illustrate the invention and are not to be understood as a limitation.
[0014] Deviations in shape, material, arrangement or dimensional ratios are possible as long as the essential features of the invention are retained, namely the separate corner protection elements with concealed adhesive tape, the smooth transition to the device and the common support surface for protecting the camera lens. Example of implementation
[0015] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. The drawings show: • Fig. 1. A top view of a single corner protection element • Fig. 1c a section AA through the corner protection element • Fig. 2 a side view of the corner protection element • Fig. 2 a,b,c,d,e an exploded view of the four corner protection elements in their arrangement around a device with a camera lens.
[0016] In the figures, the corner protection element is labelled (1).
[0017] It has a recessed inner surface (2) in which the double-sided adhesive tape (3) is arranged.
[0018] On the back there is a raised area (4) which is located in the area of the device's camera lens and prevents the lens from touching the surface.
[0019] The outer contour extends over a transition surface (5) into the device surface, creating a seamless impression both visually and haptically.
[0020] The edges are rounded by a radius (6).
[0021] The four identical corner protection elements together form a support surface that is slightly above the height of the camera lens. (4)
[0022] The assembly is carried out by first applying the double-sided adhesive tape (3) to the recessed inner surface (2) of the protective element (1), then the element is placed on the corner of the device and pressed firmly into place.
[0023] The device is therefore attached to both the protective element and the device itself.
[0024] The material of the protective element (1) preferably consists of a thermoplastic elastomer (TPU) of medium hardness, thereby achieving shock-absorbing behavior and good resilience.
[0025] The design is such that the corner protection element slightly overlaps the edge of the device, thus also providing some protection to the display against impacts.
