A method for inlaying during preparation of a metallographic specimen

Abstract

The application discloses an inlaying method in a metallographic sample preparation process, which comprises the following steps: step one, sample cutting; step two, sample cleaning; step three, sample winding; step four, sample inlaying; and step five, sample grinding; in the step one, burrs on the cutting surface of the cut sample need to be removed; in the step three, the winding method is specifically as follows: medical non-woven fabric adhesive tape is wound around the middle part or two ends of a relatively thin sample, so that the sample can be stably placed while part of the sample is still exposed; and in the step four, the inlaying material is transparent phenolic resin material; the diameter of the thickest sample is taken as a standard, the relatively thin sample is wound with the medical non-woven fabric adhesive tape, so that the diameter of the relatively thin sample is increased, the longitudinal surfaces of the samples with different diameters can finally be on the same horizontal plane, and thus the unified grinding of the samples with different diameters is realized, and the sample preparation efficiency can be greatly improved.
