Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a bed rail according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] The number of people with disabilities due to age, illness, disability, or even pregnancy is increasing year by year. Issues such as the daily lives, health, and safety of these people are also receiving increasing attention from society and families. These disabled or limited people often have difficulty transitioning from lying down to sitting in bed, or getting in and out of bed.
[0003] Many bed rails are attached to the edge of the bed near the user's buttocks to make it easier for them to hold their hands and stand up. The Chinese patent application with the application number CN 201820552246.3 discloses a multifunctional standing aid for patients. It comprises a bracket that includes two parallel vertical bars. A first bar, a second bar, and a third bar are arranged in order from top to bottom between the two vertical bars such that the first bar is at the upper end of the two vertical bars, the third bar is at the lower end of the two vertical bars, and the second bar is at the lower area of the two vertical bars, close to the third bar. A first extension end is arranged below each vertical bar, via which the vertical bar is detachably connected to a support bar.Below the third rod is a second extension end, which is detachably connected to the support rod. A subframe is attached to the vertical rods and arranged perpendicular to the vertical rods.
[0004] Because the vertical bars and subframe of this standing aid are arranged perpendicular to each other and firmly connected, the user must lower their buttocks and then turn around to get out of bed. This conventional standing aid therefore still needs improvement to support the user during standing so that the user can get out of bed with less effort.
[0005] The object of the invention is to provide a bed rail that is user-friendly and makes it easier for the user to get up.
[0006] The object is achieved according to the invention by a bed rail having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.
[0007] The bed rail according to the invention comprises a retaining bracket, a holder, a locking assembly and two connecting elements, wherein the two connecting elements are each arranged symmetrically to one another at two ends of the holder, wherein the two lower ends of the retaining bracket are each rotatably connected to the two connecting elements, wherein a recess is provided at the upper end of the respective connecting element.
[0008] The locking assembly comprises a handle, each end of which is inserted into the corresponding recesses, locked into place, and slidably connected to the two ends of the retaining bracket, allowing the handle to slide up and down relative to the retaining bracket. When the handle is released from the recesses, the retaining bracket is rotatable relative to the connecting elements.
[0009] The bed rail according to the invention is characterized by the following: The bed rail has a simple design and requires only a small amount of space. The locking assembly securely locks the handle into the recesses, preventing the support bar from wobbling when the user holds the support bar and uses it to stand up. Once the handle is released from the recesses, the support bar can be rotated relative to the connecting elements and adjusted and fixed in position relative to the connecting elements as needed. This reduces the frequency with which the user's buttocks have to be moved due to the support bar being locked, allowing the user to easily get out of bed. Furthermore, the support bar is foldable and easy to store, so the bed rail requires only a smaller amount of space.
[0010] The invention is described in detail below using an exemplary embodiment and with reference to the drawings. The drawings show: Fig. 1 a perspective view of a preferred embodiment of a bed rail according to the invention, Fig. 2 a perspective view of the bed rail according to the invention in Fig. 1 from a different perspective, Fig. 3 a side view of the bed rail according to the invention in Fig. 1, Fig. 4 the bed rail in partial section along the section line AA Fig. 3, Fig. 5 an enlarged view of section B from Fig. 4, Fig. 6 an exploded view of a locking assembly of the bed rail according to the invention in Fig. 1, Fig. 7 an exploded view of a height adjustment assembly of the bed rail according to the invention in Fig. 1, Fig. 8 is an exploded view of an adjustable support leg assembly of the bed rail according to the invention in Fig. 1, and Fig. 9 an exploded view of a holder of the bed rail according to the invention in Fig. 1.
[0011] The objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the detailed description of an embodiment and the accompanying drawings. The invention is not intended to be limited to the features apparent from the description and the drawings.
[0012] In Fig. 1 to Fig. Figure 9 shows a first preferred embodiment of a bed rail according to the invention. The bed rail comprises a support bracket 1, a holder 2, a locking assembly 4, and two connecting elements 3. The two connecting elements 3 are each arranged symmetrically to one another at two ends of the holder 2. The two lower ends of the support bracket 1 are each rotatably connected to the two connecting elements 3. A recess 31 is provided at the upper end of each connecting element 3.
[0013] The locking assembly 4 comprises a handle part 41, each of whose ends are inserted into the corresponding recesses 31, locked therein, and slidably connected to the two ends of the retaining bracket 1, so that the handle part 41 can slide up and down relative to the retaining bracket 1. When the handle part 41 is released from the recesses 31, the retaining bracket 1 is rotatable relative to the connecting elements 3.
[0014] The bed rail according to the invention has a simple design and only takes up a small area. The bracket 2 is attached between a mattress and a bed plate in order to fix the bed rail to one side of the bed. By means of the locking assembly 4, the handle part 41 is securely locked in the recesses 31 so that the support bracket 1 does not wobble when the user holds the support bracket 1 and stands up with the help of it. The two ends of the handle part 41 are slidably connected to the two ends of the support bracket 1 so that the handle part 41 can be moved upwards along the support bracket 1 and then detached from the recesses 31. As soon as the handle part 41 is detached from the recesses 31, the support bracket 1 can be rotated relative to the connecting elements 3. The support bracket 1 can thus be moved in or out by locking or releasing the handle part 41.The recesses 31 can be adjusted and fixed in position relative to the connecting elements 3 as needed. This reduces the frequency with which the user's buttocks must be moved due to the locking of the support bar 1, allowing the user to easily get out of bed. Furthermore, the support bar 1 and the connecting elements 3 are pivotally connected to one another so that the support bar can be easily rotated. This makes the bed rail foldable and easy to store, requiring only a small amount of space.
[0015] As in Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 6, a connecting tube 11 is arranged at each of the two ends of the retaining bracket 1, which extends downwards, wherein the lower end of the connecting tube 11 is rotatably connected to the lower end of the corresponding connecting element 3. The two ends of the handle part 41 are each slidably connected to the middle section of the respective connecting element 11 and can thus be moved up and down relative to the connecting elements 11, wherein the structure here is simple and advantageous in that a certain space is retained at the retaining bracket 1, so that the retaining bracket 1 can be easily rotated in this space relative to the connecting elements 3 when the handle part 41 is detached from the recesses 31.
[0016] According to the invention, the connecting element 3 is provided with an axle bolt 32, one end of which is inserted through the lower end of the connecting tube 11. The connecting tube 11 is rotatably connected to the connecting element 3 by means of the axle bolt 32. Thus, the retaining bracket can be rotated relative to the connecting elements 3 by means of the axle bolt 32, whereby this is a simple construction.
[0017] Further is from Fig. 4 to Fig. 6 that the locking assembly 4 further comprises a blocking part 42 and two elastic elements 43, wherein the two ends of the blocking part 42 are each inserted into the upper end of the corresponding connecting tube 11 and thus firmly connected to the corresponding connecting tube 11. The two ends of the handle part 41 are each inserted into the middle section of the corresponding connecting tube 11 and thus slidably connected to the corresponding connecting tube 11, wherein the handle part 41 is received in the recesses 31 and thus locked. The two elastic elements 43 are each arranged in the corresponding connecting tube 11 such that the upper end of the elastic element 43 is connected to the end part of the blocking part 42 and the lower end thereof is connected to the end part of the handle part 41, whereby this is a simple construction. In this preferred embodiment, the handle part 41 and the blocking part 42 are arranged parallel to one another. If the handle part 41 is to be moved manually and thus placed into the recesses 31 in order to be locked in the recesses 31, the handle part 41 is first moved upwards along the connecting tubes 11 far enough to maintain a certain amount of space at the handle part 41 in which the handle part 41 can be inserted into the recesses 31. At the same time, the elastic elements 43 are compressed by the handle part 41. When the handle part 41 is located above the recesses 31, it is driven such that it slides downwards along the connecting tubes 11, wherein the handle part 41 is securely locked in the recesses 31 under the action of the elastic restoring force of the elastic elements 43, thus ensuring a stable and secure connection of the handle part 41.When the user stands up using the support bar 1, the elastic elements 43 ensure that the handle 41 does not accidentally detach from the recesses 31. This ensures the safety of use of the bed rail.
[0018] Furthermore, the locking assembly 4 comprises sleeves 44, each of which is plugged onto the connecting tube 44 such that the sleeve 44 is slidably connected to the connecting tube 11. Two sliding grooves 111 are arranged opposite one another on the circumference of the connecting tube 11, with the two ends of the handle part 41 each being plugged through one side of the respective sleeve 44 and the two sliding grooves 111 and then connected to the other side of the respective sleeve 44. The sleeve 44 serves to cover the sliding grooves 111 in order to achieve a better visual appearance of the bed rail, whereby this is a simple construction. In this preferred embodiment, the two ends of the handle part 41 are each plugged in turn through the corresponding recess 31, one side of the sleeve 44 and the two sliding grooves 111 and then connected to the other side of the respective sleeve 44.The handle part 41 is thus moved along the sliding grooves 111 in order to be locked in the recesses 31 or released from them, wherein the sleeves 44 are caused by the handle part 41 to also slide along the sliding grooves 111.
[0019] As in Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. As shown in Figure 7, the bracket 2 is provided with two symmetrically arranged height adjustment assemblies 5, wherein the upper end of each height adjustment assembly 5 is connected to the corresponding connecting tube 3. The height adjustment assembly 5 adjusts the height of the support bar 1 relative to the bracket 2, allowing the user to individually adjust the height of the support bar 1 for their comfort. Thus, an adaptable, user-friendly, and flexibly deployable bed rail is realized.
[0020] Furthermore, the respective height adjustment assembly 5 comprises a first adjustment tube 51 and a first plug-in element 53 inserted into the lower end of the first adjustment tube 51, wherein the upper end of the first adjustment tube 51 is inserted into the corresponding connecting tube 3 and connected to the same and the lower end of the same is connected to the holder 2, wherein a plurality of first positioning holes 52 are arranged on the first adjustment tube 51 from top to bottom in sequence at a certain distance from one another, wherein a first resilient catch 54 is arranged on the outer wall of the upper part of the first plug-in element 53 such that it runs in the radial direction of the first plug-in element 53 and protrudes from said outer wall, wherein the first resilient catch 54 can selectively engage in one of the first positioning holes 54.The user can thus engage the first spring-loaded catch 54 in the first positioning hole 52, the height of which is appropriate for the user's comfort. This creates an individually adjustable bed rail that has a wide range of applications and, thanks to the support of the support bar 1, makes getting up much easier for the user.
[0021] In this embodiment, the first positioning holes 52 are also drilled on the side wall of the connecting element 3, with the first positioning holes 52 of the connecting element 3 and the adjacent first positioning holes 52 of the first adjustment tube 51 being arranged at a distance from each other. This increases the height-adjustable range within which the retaining bracket 1 is height-adjustable relative to the bracket 2. At the same time, the area occupied by the connecting tube 11 is reduced.
[0022] Furthermore, Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 8 that the bed rail further comprises two symmetrically arranged adjustable support leg assemblies 6, wherein the upper end of each adjustable support leg assembly 6 is connected to the corresponding connecting element 3. The lower end of each adjustable support leg assembly 6 rests on the floor, thereby supporting the support bar 1. At the same time, the adjustable support leg assemblies 6 can be adjusted according to the height of the bed plate relative to the floor in order to optimally support the support bar 1. The bed rail finds wide application due to the adjustability of the support leg assemblies 6. With the bed rail constructed in this way, the support bar 1 does not wobble when the user stands up using the support bar 1. Thus, the user can stand up or lie down with greater safety.
[0023] Furthermore, the respective adjustable support leg assembly 6 comprises a second plug-in element 61 and a second adjustment tube 63 plugged onto the lower end of the second plug-in element 61, wherein the upper end of the second plug-in element 61 is connected to the corresponding connecting element 3. A plurality of second positioning holes 64 are arranged on the second adjustment tube 63 in sequence from top to bottom at a certain distance from one another. A second resilient catch 62 is arranged on the outer wall of the lower part of the second plug-in element 61 such that it extends in the radial direction of the second plug-in element 61 and protrudes from said outer wall. The second resilient catch 62 can selectively engage one of the second positioning holes 64. Thus, depending on the height of the bed plate relative to the floor, the user can cause the second resilient catch 62 to engage the second positioning hole 64 of the corresponding height. This allows the lower ends of the second adjustment tubes 63 to rest firmly on the floor, providing solid support for the support bar 1. With the bed rail constructed in this way, the support bar 1 does not wobble when the user stands up using the support bar 1. Thus, the user can stand up or lie down with greater safety.
[0024] In this embodiment, the end of the connecting tube 3 facing the holder 2 is connected to the upper end of the first adjusting tube 51 and the end of the connecting tube 3 facing away from the holder 2 is connected to the upper end of the second plug-in element 61, whereby this is a compact structure.
[0025] Furthermore, a rubber foot 7 is arranged at the lower end of each second adjustment tube 63. The rubber foot 7 increases the contact area with which the lower end of the second adjustment tube 63 is in contact with the floor, ensuring stable contact between the lower end of the second adjustment tube 63 and the floor. This prevents the second adjustment tubes 63 from wobbling when the user stands up using the support bracket 1, thus increasing the safety of use of the bed rail.
[0026] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, a plurality of storage pockets 8 are arranged in the support bracket 1 at a certain distance from one another, wherein the storage pockets 8 serve to store items for the user. In this exemplary embodiment, the support bracket 1 comprises an armrest 12, a connecting rod 13, and two vertical rods 14, wherein the two ends of the armrest 12 are connected to the respective upper ends of the two vertical rods 14, and the lower end of the respective vertical rod 14 is connected to the upper end of the corresponding connecting tube 11. The two ends of the connecting rod 13 are respectively connected to the two vertical rods 14. The connecting rod 13 and the blocking part 42 are arranged parallel to one another. The upper end of the respective storage pocket 8 is connected to the connecting rod 13, and the lower end thereof is connected to the blocking part 42.Here, the storage pockets 8 are not arranged on the armrest 12, so the user is not disturbed by the storage pockets 8 when standing up using the armrest 12. This increases the safety of use of the bed rail.
[0027] As in Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig.As shown in Figure 9, the holder 2 comprises a first U-tube 21 and a second U-tube 22, wherein the first U-tube 21 and the second U-tube 22 each have a U-shaped cross-section. The first U-tube 21 and the second U-tube 22 are open at one end and closed at the other end and each have two extension arms. The extension arms of the first and second U-tubes 21, 22 are arranged opposite one another, wherein the lower ends of the two first plug elements 53 are each connected to the two parts of the closed end of the first U-tube 21, wherein the two extension arms of the first U-tube 21 are each detachably connected to the two extension arms of the second U-tube 22. In this embodiment, the two extension arms of the second U-tube 22 are each inserted into the two extension arms of the first U-tube 21, whereby the assembly is easy.In particular, a third resilient catch is arranged on the outer wall of the respective extension arm of the first U-tube 21 such that it extends in the radial direction of the first U-tube 21 and protrudes from said outer wall, wherein third positioning holes are drilled on the two extension arms of the second U-tube 22, wherein the third resilient catch can selectively engage in one of the third positioning holes, which contributes to a stable connection.
[0028] It should further be noted that the first U-tube 21 comprises a first connecting part and two extension arms arranged parallel to one another, wherein the two ends of the first connecting part are each connected to one end of the respective extension arm of the first U-tube 21. More precisely, the end of the extension arm of the first U-tube 21 facing the first connecting part is a closed end of the first U-tube 21, and the end of the extension arm of the first U-tube 21 facing away from the first connecting part is an open end of the first U-tube 21. The second U-tube 22 comprises a second connecting part and two extension arms arranged parallel to one another, wherein the two ends of the second connecting part are each connected to one end of the respective extension arm of the second U-tube 22.More specifically, the end of the extension arm of the second U-tube 22 facing the first connecting part is a closed end of the second U-tube 22 and the end of the extension arm of the second U-tube 22 facing away from the first connecting part is an open end of the second U-tube 22. The extension arms of the first U-tube 21 are detachably connected to the corresponding extension arms of the second U-tube 22.
[0029] Furthermore, the holder 2 comprises a plurality of anti-slip elements 23, which are each plugged onto the first and second U-tubes 21, 22 and ensure an increase in the friction of the holder 2 in order to prevent the holder 2 from slipping out of the gap between the mattress and the bed plate and thereby increase the safety of use of the bed rail.
[0030] In this embodiment, the anti-slip elements 23 are foam tubes, whereby the structure here is a simple structure.
