A head mounted support system for a head mounted apparatus. The apparatus includes a monocular display with a wireless communications interface, a user input device, a transmitter, receiver and a controller. The controller is configured to control the transmitter for sending and receiving control signals to and from an external device via the wireless interface. The monocular display is positioned relative to the user's dominant eye to display images to the user while occluding less than half of the user's maximum viewing space, while enabling the user to send and receive audible information or music. The head mounted support system may include an ear loop, and a housing for storing one or more functional components of the apparatus.

Another aspect of the disclosure pertains to audio & visual components capable of outputting media content for one or more users. Another aspect of the disclosure pertains to solar cells integrated into or attached to the said shade structure. All aspects can be utilized alone or in combination with one another.

A shade device configured to provide comfort, entertainment, or convenience to the people positioned adjacent to them is disclosed. In one embodiment, the shade device has an audiovisual media and a power source that powers an audiovisual media is disclosed. The audiovisual media may be positioned under a covering of the shade device to provide entertainment to the user. In other embodiments, the shade device includes a liquid source and a sprayer. The sprayer is configured to obtain liquid from the liquid source and spray the liquid to cool the temperature surrounding the user. The shade device may further include sprayer switch and a switch actuator that allow the user to control the amount of liquid sprayed by the sprayer. In certain embodiments, the shade device may include a container for the user to store food or beverage. The container may be cooled by the liquid from the same liquid source where the sprayer obtains the liquid to spray.

A hands-free personal hydration delivery system has a tubing assembly that has one end that detachably connects to a feed tube for a container of fluid worn on the back or torso of a user. The other end of the tubing assembly is coupled to a bite valve which is opened when manipulated by the user's mouth to allow fluid to be drawn by suction applied by the user, and is closed when not being manipulated so as to cut off fluid flow in an air-tight condition. An intermediate portion of the tubing assembly is mounted on the user's head or to the user's headgear at a position of higher elevation than the user's mouth. This allows fluid to be drawn to the elevated position and flow downward from there to the user's mouth by gravity feed. The fluid flow can then continue with little suction effort due to the gravity feed and siphoning effect of fluid from the container. The tubing can be mounted using retainer loops or other type of fasteners attached to a helmet, sports cap, head band bracket, headphone bracket, headband, or an earpiece worn by the user. The hydration delivery system is especially useful for bicycling, canoeing, mountain biking, kayaking, canoe paddling, and rowing environments.

An illuminated umbrella assembly having self-contained and protected lights is described. The illuminated umbrella assembly comprises (i) a lower vertical support pole having a first end for engagement to a generally horizontal surface and a second end extending upwardly there from; (ii) an upper vertical support pole having a first end coupled to the second end of the lower vertical support pole and a second end extending upwardly there from; (iii) a plurality of umbrella support bars extending from the second end of the upper vertical support pole; (iv) an umbrella panel overlaying and coupled to the plurality of umbrella support bars; (v) a hinged column coupled coaxially around and selectively movable along the upper vertical support pole; (vi) a plurality of hollowed, elongated and non-opaque support rails, each having a first end coupled to the hinged column and a second end coupled to one of the plurality of umbrella support bars; (vii) a plurality of light strands positioned internally within and extending substantially along the length of the plurality of hollowed, elongated and non-opaque support rails, each of the plurality of light strands having one of a plurality of plugs on one end thereof; (viii) a battery sleeve containing a series of rechargeable DC batteries wherein the battery sleeve is contained coaxially within the lower vertical support pole and is electrically wired to provide power to the light strands by including outlets to engage with said plugs; (ix) a solar panel overlaying at least a portion of the umbrella panel and electrically wired to provide power to the light strands through the outlets; and (x) a plurality of coupling hinges for individually attaching the second ends of the support rails to the plurality of umbrella support bars. A power switch is often provided to control the illumination of the light strands.

A lock mechanism mounted in a large umbrella includes a sliding sleeve including an aperture on surface of a lower extension, a telescopic shank including a lower tube fixed in a handle and a sliding upper tube, a lock device disposed in the upper tube such that disposing a resilient projection of the lock device through holes of the tubes may fasten the shank, an actuation assembly for receiving the extension and including a transverse opening and a spring biased actuation member having a portion disposed in the aperture for locking the extension in a closed position of the umbrella, the actuation member including a trigger, and a spring biased rib fixing assembly disposed between the handle and the actuation assembly. Pushing the trigger will disengage the portion with the aperture to open the umbrella. Operating the lock device will effect a subsequent multi-sectional length adjustment of the shank.
