Adapter brackets LBX 2.1 for mounting a defined type of rear box with screw fastening (4-fold) on a defined type of bicycle carrier with linear extension mechanism for mounting on trailer hitches.
Adapter brackets with M8 hammerhead screws and rivet nuts enable rear boxes to be mounted on bicycle carriers for vehicles with large tailgates, ensuring the tailgate can open fully by providing a secure and durable connection, addressing the lack of suitable mounting solutions for rear boxes on these vehicles.

AI Technical Summary
Existing bicycle carriers with linear extension mechanisms for vehicles with large tailgates, such as vans and campervans, lack a suitable mounting solution for rear boxes due to insufficient opening angles, preventing the tailgate or rear doors from fully opening.
Adapter brackets made of aluminum rectangular tube profiles, secured with M8 hammerhead screws, provide a secure and form-fitting connection between the rear box and the bicycle carrier, using spacer strips for precise positioning and M8 rivet nuts for mounting, allowing the rear box to be attached to the carrier with a predefined alignment.
Enables the secure and stable attachment of rear boxes to bicycle carriers on vehicles with large tailgates, ensuring the tailgate or rear doors can fully open without interference, while maintaining a robust and durable connection.

Abstract
Description
[0001] Rear boxes for transporting holiday or leisure luggage or sports equipment are usually mounted on bicycle carriers or rear carriers with a folding mechanism so that the tailgate of the vehicle can be opened for loading.
[0002] However, this opening mechanism generally only works on cars / station wagons / SUVs. On vehicles with large tailgates, such as vans, minibuses, or campervans with rear doors, the tailgate or rear doors hit the frame because the opening angle is insufficient.
[0003] Only one specific type of bicycle carrier for mounting on trailer hitches is equipped with a linear extension mechanism of 71 cm. This allows the tailgate / rear doors to be opened even on the aforementioned vehicle category.
[0004] However, until now there has been no way to mount a rear box on this bicycle carrier.
[0005] The numbers and letters in parentheses mentioned below refer to the figures and components in the drawings.
[0006] With our adapter consoles (1) described in the protective claim, a secure, form-fitting and force-fit connection between the rear box and the bicycle carrier is achieved ( Fig. C).
[0007] The two adapter brackets (1) made of aluminium rectangular tube profiles are each fastened with two M8 hammerhead screws (2) in the T-slots (7) of the bicycle carrier ( Fig. C).
[0008] The pipe profiles are protected from laterally penetrating dirt by end plugs (5).
[0009] The predefined mounting position of the adapter brackets is achieved using spacer strips as an aid.
[0010] A 13 mm socket wrench is inserted through the openings (3) in the top of the adapter brackets for fastening. The M8 fastening nuts on the ends of the hammerhead screws (2) are located inside, out of sight.
[0011] Tightening torque: approx. 5-6 Nm.
[0012] The rear box is then screwed into the M8 rivet nuts (4) using the four original mounting screws, with two mounting positions selectable at a distance of 25mm, suitable for the vehicle type.
[0013] For this reason, four rivet nuts (4) have been inserted per adapter console (1).
