[0001] The invention relates to cleaning elements for cleaning the barrels of firearms, in particular those having rifling and lands.

[0002] It is known that the barrels of firearms become fouled through use, particularly through firing. Residue from the burnt propellant regularly adheres to the inner surfaces of the barrel after firing. Any residue from the projectile passing through the barrel can also remain there. Such fouling and residue in the barrel can impair the firearm's function. This can lead to a reduction in accuracy.
