Abstract

Access port adapter for an access device, wherein the access port adapter comprises: an elastomeric body having a tubular section arranged about a longitudinal axis and having a radial dimension perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, wherein the elastomeric body has a first end and a second end along the longitudinal axis and defines a longitudinal passage for at least one elongated instrument between the first end and the second end; wherein the elastomeric body further comprises an access port retaining device near the second end, wherein the access port retaining device comprises a projecting section configured to engage with a corresponding retaining device at a proximal end of an access device.
