Device (1) for testing a connection point (2) of an electrical installation, comprising: - a connection means (12) for connecting the device to the connection point (2), - a load test means for performing a load test of the connection point and determining load test measurement values, - an evaluation means for evaluating the load test measurement values ​​and creating a load capacity assessment, and - one or more display means (13, 14) for displaying the load capacity assessment, characterized in that a control means is provided and is configured to: • detect the connection of the device to a connection point, and, • after a successful connection has been detected, without establishing a connection with other devices, to perform a load test using the load test means and to determine load test measurement values.and• to evaluate the load test measurements using the evaluation device and to create a load-bearing capacity assessment, and• to display the load-bearing capacity assessment using the display device(s).
