Portable breast pump system

Abstract

Breast pump system comprising at least one portable milk collection unit connected by means of an air line to a combined external air pump and control unit; and wherein the milk collection unit(s) each comprise: (a) a breast shield comprising a breast flange and a nipple tunnel; (b) a flexible diaphragm configured to prevent milk from reaching the external air pump; (c) an outer jacket configured to be detachably attached to the breast shield, such that the breast shield and outer jacket, when attached, form a vessel for collecting milk, and the front of the outer jacket has a curved section; (d) a diaphragm cap configured to be attached over the diaphragm when in use, forming part of the front or forward-facing portion of the outer jacket and having an air port connected to the air line.
