ADDRESS ASSIGNMENT FOR A MODULAR POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT

Abstract

Secondary module (10) for a power distribution unit (PDU), comprising: - a set of sockets (141, 142, 143) connected to an internal coupling socket (15) enabling power supply through an input module of the power distribution unit; - at least one interface (12, 13) for transmitting data with another module in the power distribution unit, characterized in that it further comprises: - management means (11) for individually managing the sockets of the set by means of messages exchanged via the at least one interface with a base module of the power distribution unit, which identify a socket of the set determined by a unique address; - wherein the management means are adapted to transmit an address request message on the first interface (12) of the at least one interface in response to an invitation signal received on that interface.which specifies the number of sockets of the interface, and for storing the address(es) in response to one or more address assignment messages.
