Description

Technical field

[0001] The application concerns a device for driving a fastening element into a substrate. State of the art

[0002] With such devices, the driving depth of the fastener into the substrate depends on several factors and varies depending on the application. To ensure a desired driving depth, it is known to equip the driving device with a driving depth adjustment mechanism, allowing the user to adjust the driving depth within a limited range.

[0003] US Patent 6,851,595 B1 discloses a driving device with a driving depth adjustment mechanism, in which a pressure element rests against a nut screwed onto a threaded rod. The threaded rod transmits a pressing motion of the driving device to a linkage connected to a housing of the driving device. The driving depth of nails is adjustable by rotating the nut on the threaded rod. Description of the invention

[0004] The problem is solved by a device for driving a fastening element into a substrate, comprising a drive and a driving element preferably designed as a piston, which is driven by the drive from a starting position in a driving direction to a setting position in order to drive a fastening element into the substrate, further comprising a braking element with a contact surface which determines the setting position of the driving element and against which the driving element bears in the setting position, further comprising a pressure element which has an end face which can be pressed against the substrate in the driving direction, wherein the end face and the contact surface have a distance from each other in the driving direction which determines a driving depth of the fastening element into the substrate, further comprising an adjusting device, with which the distance between the end face and the contact surface is adjustable, wherein the adjusting device comprises an adjusting element which is connected to the braking element by means of a first threaded connection and to the pressure element by means of a second threaded connection, such that a rotation of the adjusting element, on the one hand, displaces the adjusting element relative to the braking element and relative to the pressure element, and on the other hand, displaces the pressure element relative to the braking element. This allows for easy adjustment of the distance between the setting position and the substrate, so that the driving depth of the fastening element into the substrate can be adjusted by a user of the device.

[0005] An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that a thread axis of the first threaded connection is oriented in the direction of insertion. It is equally advantageous if a thread axis of the second threaded connection is oriented in the direction of insertion.

[0006] An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the first threaded connection has a right-hand thread and the second threaded connection has a left-hand thread. Alternatively, the first threaded connection has a left-hand thread and the second threaded connection has a right-hand thread. Another advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the first threaded connection has a first thread pitch, and the second threaded connection has a second thread pitch that differs from the first thread pitch. These measures ensure in a simple way that a rotation of the adjusting element displaces the pressure element relative to the braking element.

[0007] An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the first threaded connection has a first internal thread and a first external thread, and the second threaded connection has a second internal thread and a second external thread. Preferably, the adjusting element has the first external thread and / or the second external thread. Particularly preferably, the adjusting element is designed as a threaded sleeve which is screwed onto the braking element and the pressure element.

[0008] An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the device comprises a housing and a pressure sensor, the first of which comes into contact with the substrate when the device is pressed against the substrate in the direction of insertion, and which is movable relative to the housing against the direction of insertion between a starting position and a contact position, wherein the pressure sensor is in the starting position when the device is not pressed against the substrate, and wherein the pressure sensor is in the contact position when the device is pressed against the substrate. Preferably, the pressure sensor in the starting position projects beyond the contact element in the direction of insertion. Alternatively, the pressure sensor is formed by the contact element.

[0009] An advantageous embodiment is characterized in that the drive comprises a potential energy storage device, preferably designed as a spring, for storing potential energy by means of which the driving element is driven, and an energy transfer device for transferring energy from an energy source to the potential energy storage device. Examples of implementation

[0010] The following sections describe embodiments of a device for driving a fastener into a substrate, using examples and referring to the drawings. The drawings show: Fig. 1 a side view of a driving device, Fig. 2 a side view of the driving device with the housing open, Fig. 3 a longitudinal section of a part of a driving device in a first position, Fig. 4 a longitudinal section of a part of the driving device in a second position.

[0011] Fig. 1Figure 1 shows a driving device 10 for driving a fastening element, for example a nail or bolt, into a substrate in a side view. The driving device 10 has a driving element (not shown) for transferring energy to the fastening element and a housing 20 in which the driving element and a drive (also not shown) for conveying the driving element are housed.

[0012] The driving device 10 further comprises a handle 30, a magazine 40, and a bridge 50 connecting the handle 30 to the magazine 40. A scaffold hook 60 for suspending the driving device 10 from scaffolding or the like, and an electrical energy storage device designed as an electric battery 590, are attached to the bridge 50. A trigger 34 and a handle sensor designed as a hand switch 35 are arranged on the handle 30. The driving device 10 also has a guide channel 700 for guiding the fastening element and a pressure device 750 for detecting a distance between the driving device 10 and a substrate (not shown). An alignment aid 45 assists in aligning the driving device perpendicular to a substrate.

[0013] Fig. 2Figure 1 shows the insertion device 10 with its housing 20 open. A drive 70 for conveying an insertion element 71 is housed in the housing 20. The drive 70 comprises an electric motor (not shown) for converting electrical energy from the battery 590 into rotational energy, a torque transmission device comprising a gearbox 400 for transmitting torque from the electric motor to a motion converter designed as a spindle drive 300, and a force transmission device comprising a roller train 260 for transmitting force from the motion converter to a mechanical energy storage device designed as a spring 200 and for transmitting force from the spring 200 to the energy transmission element.

[0014] The Fig. 3 and 4Figure 310 shows a driving device 310 with a housing 320 and a magazine 340, partially in longitudinal section. The driving device 310 comprises a drive 370 and a driving element 371 designed as a piston, which is driven by the drive 370 from a starting position in a driving direction 330 to a setting position in order to drive a fastening element into a substrate. The driving device 310 comprises a braking element 350 with a contact surface 351, which is located in the Fig. 3 and 4The depicted setting position of the driving element 371 is defined. The braking element 350 has a holder 352 with the contact surface 351, a damping element 353, an impact element 354, and a sleeve element 355. At the end of a driving operation, the driving element 371 strikes the impact element 354 and is decelerated by means of the damping element 353. The impact element 354 is made of a rigid material, such as steel, and the damping element 353 is made of a highly deformable elastic material, such as an elastomer. In the setting position, the driving element 371 rests against the impact element 354, as shown in the Fig. 3 and 4 shown. In embodiments not shown, the driving element rests against the contact surface in the setting position.

[0015] The driving device 310 further comprises a pressure element 380, which has an end face 381 that can be pressed against the substrate in the driving direction 330. The end face 381 and the contact surface 351 have a distance a between them in the driving direction 330, which determines the driving depth of the fastening element into the substrate, since the end face 381 rests against the substrate during the driving process and the contact surface 351 determines the setting position of the driving element 371. This distance is adjustable by means of an adjusting device 410. The adjusting device 410 comprises an adjusting element 420, which is connected to the sleeve element 355 of the braking element 350 by means of a first threaded connection 430 and to the pressure element 380 by means of a second threaded connection 440. The first threaded connection 430 and the second threaded connection 440 each have a thread axis which is oriented in the driving direction 330.

[0016] Due to the first threaded connection 430, a rotation of the adjusting element 420 causes it to move relative to the braking element 350. Due to the second threaded connection 440, a rotation of the adjusting element 420 causes it to move relative to the pressure element 380. The first threaded connection 430 has a right-hand thread, while the second threaded connection 440 has a left-hand thread. Therefore, a rotation of the adjusting element 420 moves the pressure element 350 relative to the braking element 380. This allows for easy adjustment of the distance between the set position and the substrate. The thread pitch of the first threaded connection 430 and the second threaded connection 440 are the same.In embodiments not shown, the first threaded connection has a left-hand thread and the second threaded connection has a right-hand thread, or the thread pitches of the first and second threaded connections differ from each other with the same or opposite thread orientation.

[0017] As in the Fig. 3 and 4 As shown, the first threaded connection 430 has a first internal thread 431 and a first external thread 433. Furthermore, the second threaded connection 440 has a second internal thread 442 and a second external thread 444. The adjusting element 420 is designed as a threaded sleeve, which has the first external thread 433 and the second external thread 444 and is thus screwed onto the braking element 350 or the pressure element 380.

[0018] The driving device 310 further comprises a pressure sensor 450, which projects beyond the pressure element 380 and its end face 381 in the driving direction 330 and thus comes into contact with the substrate first when the driving device 310 is pressed against the substrate in the driving direction 330. The pressure sensor 450 is movable relative to the housing 320 in and against the driving direction 330 between a starting position and a pressing position. By means of a pressure spring 460, the pressure sensor 450 is held in the position in the Fig. 3 and 4 The starting position shown is preloaded. When the driving device 310 is pressed against the substrate, the pressure sensor is in the contact position, in which a driving process of the driving device 310 is enabled. When the driving device 310 is not pressed against the substrate, the pressure sensor is in the position shown in the Fig. 3 and 4The starting position shown, in which a driving-in process is blocked. In embodiments not shown, the pressure sensor is formed by the pressure element.

[0019] In Fig. 3 The adjusting device 410 is in a position with the smallest possible distance a between the end face 381 and the contact surface 351, and thus the greatest possible driving depth. In this position, the sleeve element 355 and the pressure element 380 are in contact with each other, thereby limiting the adjustment travel of the adjusting device 410 and thus the driving depth upwards. Fig. 4 In contrast, the adjusting device 410 is in a position with the greatest possible distance a between the end face 381 and the contact surface 351, and thus the smallest possible insertion depth. In this position, and preferably in one or more intermediate positions, the adjusting element 420 engages by means of a locking device (not shown).
