Description

[0001] The invention relates to a corner profile for arrangement on profile strips that abut one another and thereby form a corner.

[0002] Profile strips are positioned around corners in a variety of applications, butting against each other at the ends. For freestanding corners, such as stair treads, a transition or enclosure for the corners is required. Utility model DE 20 2015 103 493 describes a step edge profile for covering a step edge and enclosing a step corner. This profile is used to renovate stair treads without having to remove them. Miter cuts are also made at the corners for the stair covering. This allows thin coverings to be bent around corners. This is not possible with thicker or brittle coverings. Materials such as carpet or laminate generally cannot be mitered or bent around corners.

[0003] Further printed prior art from the present technical field is disclosed in the documents US 2007 / 119107 A and US 2012 / 180413 A1.

[0004] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a corner profile in which the profile strips and coverings can be connected and covered without the need to cut the profile strips and covering. In particular, this should enable the renovation of stair treads by covering them with, for example, carpet, laminate LVT, wood, stoneware, or natural stone without removing them.

[0005] This problem is solved by the combination of features according to claim 1.

[0006] According to the invention, a corner profile is proposed for arrangement on abutting profile strips forming a corner. The corner profile comprises sections aligned at an angle to one another, each of which is designed to fasten one of the profile strips. The corner profile has a casing and an overlap formed thereon, which is designed to engage the profile strips to create a force-locking locking of the corner profile and the profile strips.

[0007] With the solution according to the invention, the profile strips can be positioned at the front and sides of the newly covered stair treads, with the sections where the profile strips abut each other being covered by the corner profiles. The corner profile and the profile strips are secured by the corner profile's overlap, which, during normal use, preferably overlaps the tread legs of the profile strips, while the casing extends over the end faces of the profile strips that rest against the end faces of the stair tread.

[0008] In one embodiment, the corner profile features an engagement element on the overlap, which is designed to engage with a tread leg of the profile strips. The engagement element is preferably designed as an engagement hook that can be brought into fixed contact with the profile strips. In particular, the engagement hook engages with the tread legs of the profile strips.

[0009] According to the invention, a thickened portion is provided on the side of the casing housing facing the step during intended use of the corner profile, forming a stop and contact surface for the respective profile strip. The profile strips can thus be inserted into the corner profile up to a predefined position, or the profile strips can be covered by the corner profile over a predetermined section.

[0010] In a further development of the corner profile, the thickened portion includes at least one recess designed to accommodate a fastener. The fastener, together with the overlap, ensures the locking of the corner profile to the profile strips and the covering at a second location. The recesses can, in particular, each be designed as a hole into which fastening pins or fastening studs are inserted, ensuring that the corner profile is clamped to the adjacent profile strip and / or the covering.

[0011] In one variant, the corner profile is further characterized by the casing protruding beyond the thickened portion along the length of the sections. This covers the edges of the profile strips and the covering. The profile strips and the covering can practically be pushed into the corner profile a certain distance.

[0012] A further advantageous design is one in which the casing of the corner profile is designed to completely extend over the profile strips. In the area of the corner profile, only the corner profile is visible from the outside, and no parts of the profile strips and coverings.

[0013] For ease of assembly and cost-effective production, the corner profile is preferably formed as a single piece. The preferred material is aluminum.

[0014] The profile strips are designed as stair nosing strips and, when used as intended, the overlap completely overlaps the tread legs of the stair nosing strips.

[0015] Other advantageous developments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims or are presented in more detail below, together with the description of the preferred embodiment of the invention, with reference to the figures. They show: Fig. 1a perspective view of a corner profile on profile strips; Fig. 2a second perspective view of the corner profile from Figure 1 , Fig. 3a side view of the corner profile from the Figures 1 and 2 .

[0016] In the Figures 1 and 2An exemplary embodiment of an arrangement of two profile strips 10 designed as stair nosing strips is shown, which are aligned at a right angle to one another and form a corner on the end face, at which the corner profile 1 is provided. The profile strips comprise a contact leg 11 for contact with the end face of a stair step, a lower web 13 for forming a receiving channel for a covering, and a tread leg 17 with a section 12 facing the stair step and which can be placed on the stair step covering, as well as a curved upper web 14, which together with the lower web 13 provides the receiving channel. The covering for the receiving channel, which covers the end face of the stair step with the contact leg 11, is not shown.

[0017] The corner profile 1 is more detailed in Figure 3 It comprises the casing 20, which forms the visible side and outer surface of the corner profile 1.

[0018] Figure 3is the inside view of the corner profile 3, which has sections 2, 3 aligned at an angle to one another, which enclose the corner of the profile strips 10 and extend at right angles in two directions. The angle can be adjusted to the required orientation of the profile strips 10. In the upper area, the overlap 8 extending perpendicular to the outer surfaces is formed on the casing 20, to the free end of which the retracted hook section 9 is connected. Via the overlap 8, a force-locking locking of the corner profile 1 and the profile strips 10 takes place, wherein the hook section 9 engages in an edge section of the step leg 17 and in particular its section 12 during normal use, as can be seen in Figure 2can be seen. The overlap 8 is essentially identical in shape to the tread leg 17. On the inside of the casing 20, a thickened portion 4, 5 is provided on each of the two sections 2, 3, which forms a stop and contact surface for the respective end face of the profile strip 10. The corner profile 1 is formed in one piece, so that the thickened portions 4, 5 are formed in one piece with the casing 20.

[0019] The two thickened portions 4, 5 have recesses 6 into which fastening pins (not shown) are inserted to lock the covering and / or the profile strips 10 to the corner profile 1. The fastening pins also serve to determine the position of the covering in the receiving channel. The corner profile 1 can optionally also be glued to the profile strips 10. The corner profile 1 component shown is milled from aluminum, with the milling cutter entering the free space 7. The casing 20 protrudes beyond the thickened portions 4, 5 in the extension of the sub-sections 2, 3 via projections 21, 31 and thus covers both the edges of the profile strips 10 and the covering inserted in the receiving channel. On the inside, the profile strips 10 are supported on the projections 21, 31 when locked.
