Description
[0001] The invention relates to a door with a door fitting, a door-fitting combination and an assembly method therefor.
[0002] Such a door is known from the following literature: [1] Company brochure "Steel Doors" of Hörmann KG Sales Company with the printing note "Stand 04.2019 / Druck xx.2019 / HF 85115 DE / G.xxx www.hoermann.com", downloaded from the internet on August 27, 2019. From [2] IT TO20130390 A1, doors in the form of a left- and right-hinged door, as well as a sliding door with a door leaf in the wall and a sliding door with a door leaf outside the wall, and a door leaf that can be used for all these door types, are known. The door leaf has a seat for a lock in the lock area, with through holes for a key and a door handle. The through openings can be closed with caps or gripping elements. From [3] US 5 722 203 A, a door with a frame and a door leaf hinged to it by means of door hinges is known. The door leaf is equipped with a through hole in the lock area for mounting a doorknob similar to that found on American interior doors.A mounting aid is provided for mounting the door leaf. This can be inserted into the through hole and clamps the door leaf in the closed position during installation. [4] US 2002 / 0043293 A1 discloses a device for manufacturing door leaves with a computer-assisted drilling device. Menu-driven settings for manufacturing different fastening devices for different door fittings can be configured on a control system.
[0003] Fire doors and other safety doors are often required for use in various buildings. According to safety regulations, such safety doors require building approval. This approval is granted after a test of their protective function.
[0004] When testing the protective function, it is not only the basic structures of the door such as the door leaf and frame that are relevant; door fittings can also influence the protective function. For example, doors can be tested and delivered with standard fittings. This way the door manufacturer ensures that the protective function is fulfilled. However, other door fittings are often requested, such as special door handles with corresponding handle plates or lock plates, or special rosettes. Therefore, the door has often been delivered without fittings and the end fitting selected by the customer is fitted to the door at the installation site. This carries the risk of incorrect installation or the installation of unsuitable door fittings, thus impairing or even preventing the protective function.
[0005] The invention aims to provide a door, in particular a safety door, that can be individually adapted to local conditions more easily and yet more safely. In particular, it should be easier for manufacturers to ensure that individual adaptation can be achieved with simple installation while still maintaining the door's protective function.
[0006] To achieve this object, the invention provides a door according to claim 1. A door-fitting combination is specified in dependent claims 7 and 8. A method for assembling such a door is specified in claim 9. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims.
[0007] According to one aspect thereof, the invention provides a door comprising a door leaf and an auxiliary fitting mounted on the door leaf at through holes, which auxiliary fitting preferably has a door handle and a fitting plate, wherein the door leaf, in addition to the through holes, has a prefabricated fastening device for a door fitting to be fastened at the mounting location instead of the auxiliary fitting.
[0008] According to the invention, the auxiliary fitting is a standard fitting. This ensures that the door, as delivered, fulfills all door functions that can be influenced by a door fitting. This can include, for example, continuous function, which can be certified by a long-term test with several thousand door movement cycles.
[0009] Prefabrication of the fastening device for a door fitting that is only installed at the installation site offers the advantage that a fitter can very easily install the customized door fitting without, for example, having to first measure and completely install the fastening holes. Prefabrication allows the manufacturer to specify the correct installation method directly, thus avoiding incorrect installation and the potentially resulting impairment of the door's quality. Furthermore, by specifying one of several possible fastening devices that fit one or more door fittings, the manufacturer can influence the selection of door fittings and thus ensure that only suitable and appropriate door fittings are used.
[0010] It is preferred that the fastening device has at least one or more blind holes for screw fastening of the door fitting.
[0011] Blind holes can be easily drilled on site by the installer if necessary or can be used directly for assembly.
[0012] It is preferred that the door leaf has a thickness of at least 40 mm and that the at least one blind hole has a maximum depth of 15 mm, preferably 10 mm. Thus, the blind holes do not affect door functions that require a continuous barrier at the level of the door leaf, such as a fire protection function or smoke protection function.
[0013] It is preferred that the fastening device has a hole pattern produced according to predefined data for a predetermined door fitting. Data for corresponding fastening hole patterns can be stored or received for different door fittings suitable for the door and supplied, for example, by third parties, and can be applied industrially, for example, via computer-aided machining.
[0014] The provision of blind holes also has the advantage that the customer will only choose fittings that match the blind hole pattern, since exposed blind holes would represent a visual construction defect.
[0015] Preferably, the door is designed as a protective door from the group of protective doors, which includes a fire door, a burglar-resistant door, a smoke protection door, a soundproof door, a bullet-resistant door, a radiation protection door and combinations thereof.
[0016] According to a further aspect, the invention relates to a door-fitting combination comprising a door according to one of the preceding claims and the door fitting, wherein the prefabricated fastening device is adapted to an arrangement of fastening elements of the door fitting.
[0017] It is preferred that the door fitting has a fitting plate with screw openings or fastening projections as fastening elements and that the door leaf has suitably arranged blind holes therefor.
[0018] The door fitting is preferably a handle set or includes one. Accordingly, the auxiliary fitting is preferably an auxiliary handle set, such as a standard handle set, or includes one.
[0019] To produce the door according to one of the aforementioned embodiments, a manufacturing device can be used, comprising a door leaf manufacturing device for producing the door leaf and a computer-assisted drilling device with at least one drill bit that can be positioned by a controller, wherein the drilling device is designed to receive data for the arrangement of fastening elements of a door fitting and to drill blind holes in the door leaf in accordance with this arrangement.
[0020] According to a further aspect, the invention relates to a method for assembling a door with a door fitting selected according to customer requirements at an assembly location, comprising the steps: a) Manufacturing a door according to one of the preceding embodiments with the fastening device adapted to the selected door fitting, b) Delivering the door with the auxiliary fitting to the installation site, c) Dismantling the auxiliary fitting, d) Providing the door fitting at the installation site and installing it on the door, e) Installing the door.
[0021] The steps are labelled a) to e) for ease of reference only; this is not intended to imply any specific order of the steps.
[0022] Embodiments of the invention relate to a fitting pre-installation for a door, in particular a protective door, more particularly a fire door.
[0023] In practice today, doors are often delivered pre-equipped with high-quality fittings - i.e. the required hole pattern is milled into the door leaf - but without the actual fittings. These are then delivered and installed by third parties. However, it is desirable that fire doors should only be delivered in a ready-to-use condition. This would require the door manufacturer to have larger warehousing / logistics facilities in order to be able to supply customers with customized fittings as required. Instead, in embodiments of the invention, a simple and therefore cost-effective standard fitting is attached or included. The holes required for the high-quality fitting are only indicated on both sides (drilling depth, for example, approx. 10 mm). The final fitter can then simply complete the fitting holes and install the more complex / higher-quality door fitting, also supplied by a third party.
[0024] Evidence has been provided that the 10 mm deep holes have no significant impact on performance characteristics. This allows a door manufacturer to align the as-delivered condition with the performance characteristics required later.
[0025] An exemplary embodiment is explained in more detail below with reference to the attached drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a plan view of an embodiment of a door with a door leaf, a frame and an auxiliary fitting in the form of a standard handle set; Fig. 2 a section along the line XX of Fig. 1 ; Fig. 3 a section along the line YY of Fig. 1 ; Fig. 4 a plan view of detail A of Fig. 1 ; Fig. 5 a top view of the door leaf of Fig. 1 without frame and without handle set; Fig. 6 a section according to Fig. 2 through the door leaf without handle set; Fig. 7 a top view of detail A of Fig. 5 .
[0026] An embodiment of a door 10 in the form of a protective door, namely a fire door, is explained in more detail below with reference to the figures. Fig. 1 to 4 the door 10 with a frame 12 and a door leaf 14 pivoted thereon.
[0027] An auxiliary fitting 16 in the form of a standard handle set 18 is mounted on the door leaf 14.
[0028] The Figures 5 to 7 show the door leaf 14 without the standard handle set 18.
[0029] The frame 12 is a metal frame with several frame beams 20, which are formed by metal profiles and as described and shown, for example, in the reference [1], pp. 30 and 31.
[0030] The door leaf 14 is constructed, in particular, from sheet steel in a box-and-cover sheet metal design. Examples of such door leaves 14 can also be found in [1]. The door leaf 14 has a panel 22 comprising a more rigid filling material 26 surrounding a lock case 24. A lock 28 is inserted into the lock case 24. Examples of the filling material 26 as well as further details for possible designs of the door leaf 14 are described and shown in [1], and reference is expressly made to [1] for further details.
[0031] The standard handle set 18 is, for example, of the type described and shown on page 32 of reference [1]. The standard handle set 18 comprises a handle 30 and a first and a second fitting plate 32a and 32b. The first and second fitting plates 32a, 32b are secured with a first and a second through-bolt 34a, 34b, which are guided through a first and a second through-bore 36a, 36b through the door leaf.
[0032] How the Fig. 5 to 7 and the Fig. 2 to 3 removable, the door leaf 14 has a prefabricated fastening device 38 for a door fitting 60 to be fastened at the mounting location of the door 10 instead of the auxiliary fitting 16, an example of which is shown in Fig. 4 is shown by dotted lines.
[0033] The door fitting 60 can be a door fitting from a group of door fittings approved by the manufacturer of the door 10. For example, the door fitting is a panic fitting with a bar extending across the door leaf 14 as a door handle, or a high-quality handle set with a larger fitting plate or the like.
[0034] When ordering the door 10, the manufacturer of the door 10 requests the door fitting 60, and data for producing the fastening device adapted to it is entered into a manufacturing device for the door 10. The manufacturing device (not shown) is a conventional manufacturing device for such doors 10 with a computer-assisted drilling device that has at least one drill controlled according to this data.
[0035] In particular, the data contains a hole pattern or drilling pattern 39 for through holes, which are to be made in the door leaf 14 for fastening the door fitting 60 by means of through screws 34a, 34b. In the example shown in the figures, through holes are to be made at a first to fourth location 40a-40d, which then correspond to fastening openings 62 (example of a fastening element) of the door fitting 60.
[0036] However, at the door manufacturer's, the drilling device of the manufacturing apparatus does not produce through-holes for the door fitting 60, but only blind holes 42a-42d. Accordingly, in the illustrated embodiment, the fastening device 38 contains a first to fourth blind hole 42a-42d, which are drilled into the door leaf 14 with a maximum depth of 5 to 15 mm, preferably 10 mm, from the door leaf broad sides 44a, 44b. In one embodiment, only one blind hole 42a-42d is drilled at each location 40a-40d from one side. The figures show a preferred embodiment where a blind hole 42a-42d is drilled at each location 40a-40d from each door leaf broad side.
[0037] Thus, the door 10 is industrially manufactured in large series, with the fastening device 38 prefabricated for the desired door fitting 60 also being manufactured in large series and thus reliably. However, to ensure full functionality in the delivery state, without having to stock or procure the door fitting 60 from the manufacturer, the door 10 is provided with the auxiliary fitting 16.
[0038] At least one sample copy of the Fig. 1 to 4The door 10 shown is tested for all functions it must fulfill. In particular, a fire test is performed with the auxiliary fitting 16. This certifies that the door 10 fulfills the required function. A test, simulation, or calculation is also performed with possible door fittings to select only those door fittings that do not have a negative impact on the required function. The fastening device 38 is prefabricated only for appropriately selected door fittings and is therefore only adapted for those door fittings for which the function can also be guaranteed.
[0039] The door 10 will then be opened as shown in the Fig. 1 to 4Manufactured as shown and delivered to the installation site. The door fitting 60 is also provided at the installation site, either by the manufacturer of the door 10 or by a third party. At the installation site, the installer assembles the frame 10 and the door leaf 14, removes the auxiliary fitting 16, completes the through holes at locations 40a-40d by further drilling the blind holes 42a-42d, and mounts the door fitting 60 to them.
