Description

[0001] The invention relates to a toilet bowl or a urinal and a method for producing a toilet bowl or a urinal.

[0002] In recent times, there has been a significant increase in the use of mineral cast washbasins, bathtubs, and shower trays. Toilet bowls, urinals, and the like cannot be made from this material today because the material lacks sufficient chemical and / or abrasion resistance. DE 621 961 A discloses a flushing container for wall mounting, and DE 10 2011 052 814 A1 discloses a bathtub with a dimensionally stable outer wall.

[0003] The object of the present invention is to at least partially solve the problems cited with reference to the prior art. In particular, a toilet bowl or urinal is to be proposed that nevertheless uses mineral casting. Furthermore, a method for producing a toilet bowl or urinal comprising the material mineral casting is to be proposed.

[0004] A toilet bowl or a urinal having the features according to patent claim 1 and a method having the features according to patent claim 5 contribute to solving these problems. Advantageous further developments are the subject of the dependent patent claims.

[0005] A toilet bowl or urinal is proposed, comprising at least an outer shell and a water-bearing inner part, wherein the inner part is regularly exposed to water during intended use. The outer shell comprises exclusively the non-water-bearing part of the toilet bowl or urinal, wherein the outer shell is made of a mineral cast material and the inner part is made of a different material (not a mineral cast material).

[0006] In particular, a hybrid toilet bowl or urinal is proposed which is made of different materials, each material being intended for different areas of the toilet bowl or urinal, taking into account its properties.

[0007] A toilet bowl or urinal is regularly supplied with water via a water inlet (connected, for example, to a cistern or pressure pipe). A drain is also provided, through which, among other things, the water from the toilet bowl or urinal can be transferred to a sewer. The water inlet and drain are usually connected via the water-carrying inner part of the toilet bowl or urinal.

[0008] The term "bowl" refers in particular to the so-called "ceramic" of a toilet or urinal.

[0009] In particular, (only) the outer skin consists (essentially) of the mineral casting material.

[0010] Mineral casting is a material consisting of mineral fillers, such as quartz gravel, quartz sand, and / or rock flour, and a small amount of epoxy binder. The materials are mixed together and, depending on the manufacturing process, poured into molds made of wood, steel, or plastic as a homogeneous mass, e.g., cold (ambient temperature, i.e., not heated). During the casting process, the mold can be moved, e.g., shaken, to compact and vent the mixture. After a few hours, the part can be removed from the mold and is ready for assembly. This material is also known as polymer concrete or reactive resin concrete.

[0011] A mineral cast material offers several advantages over ceramics typically used for toilet bowls. In particular, the use of mineral cast allows for smaller radii and tighter tolerances, as well as the integration of electrical or mechanical components and connection points. Furthermore, the outer shell made of this material ensures a uniform and coordinated design for different sanitary facilities, such as washbasins, shower trays, bathtubs, etc.

[0012] For example, ceramics do not allow for the integration of components prior to firing (e.g., due to the high temperatures during firing). This also prevents significant shrinkage of the ceramic during production.

[0013] In particular, the inner part is made of a ceramic material.

[0014] For the proposed toilet bowl or urinal, the high hardness and hygienic properties of a ceramic material are used, particularly in the inner part, while the advantages of the mineral casting material, i.e. low shrinkage, ensuring close tolerances, flat surface, representation of small radii, are used for the outer part.

[0015] In particular, the outer skin and the inner part are connected to each other at least (or exclusively) via an adhesive bond.

[0016] The outer skin and the inner part can (alternatively) be connected to each other at least via a screw connection, a clamping connection or a clip connection.

[0017] In particular, the connection is located in a (usually) invisible area of the toilet bowl or urinal, e.g., at the upper edge of an interior space of the toilet bowl or urinal. In particular, the connection is located in an area of the toilet bowl or urinal that is not exposed to liquid (during intended use).

[0018] Preferably, the connection is designed to be liquid-tight. However, it is also possible for the connection to be non-liquid-tight, for example, only liquid-tight against splash water.

[0019] A method for manufacturing a toilet bowl or urinal, in particular the toilet bowl or urinal described above, is proposed. The toilet bowl or urinal comprises at least an outer skin and a water-conducting inner part, wherein the inner part is regularly exposed to water during intended use, wherein the outer skin exclusively comprises the non-water-conducting part of the toilet bowl or urinal. The method comprises at least the following steps: a) providing the outer skin, wherein the outer skin is made of a mineral casting material; b) providing the inner part; wherein the inner part is made of a different material than the outer skin; c) connecting the outer skin to the inner part to form a toilet bowl or a urinal.

[0020] In particular, the inner part is made of a ceramic material.

[0021] In particular, joining includes gluing.

[0022] In particular, the connection includes screwing, bracing or clipping.

[0023] The explanations of the method are particularly applicable to the toilet bowl or urinal and vice versa.

[0024] The toilet bowl or urinal proposed here is preferably used to collect human body excretions, in particular urine.

[0025] Should a dependency and / or sequence be required, this is explicitly stated here or will be obvious to the person skilled in the art upon studying the specifically described embodiment. If a component can occur multiple times ("at least one"), the description of one of these components may apply equally to all or part of the majority of these components, but this is not mandatory.

[0026] The invention and the technical background are explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying figures. It should be noted that the invention is not intended to be limited by the exemplary embodiments cited.

[0027] It should be noted that the figures, and in particular the proportions shown, are only schematic. They show: Fig. 1: a toilet bowl in a side view in section; and Fig. 2: a method for manufacturing a toilet bowl.

[0028] The Fig. 1 shows a toilet bowl 1 in a side view in section. Fig. 2 shows a method for manufacturing a toilet bowl 1. The Fig. 1 and 2 are described together below.

[0029] The toilet bowl 1 has an outer shell 2 and a water-bearing inner part 3, wherein the inner part 3 is regularly exposed to water during intended use. The outer shell 2 comprises exclusively the non-water-bearing part of the toilet bowl 1, wherein the outer shell 2 is made of a mineral cast material and the inner part 3 is made of a different material (not a mineral cast material).

[0030] The toilet bowl 1 is supplied with water via a water inlet 5 (connected, for example, to a cistern or a pressure pipe). Furthermore, an outlet 6 is provided, through which, among other things, the water from the toilet bowl 1 can be transferred to a wastewater pipe. The water inlet 5 and outlet 6 are connected to each other via the water-conducting inner part 3 of the toilet bowl 1.

[0031] The outer skin 2 and the inner part 3 are connected to each other exclusively via a (here: adhesive) connection 4.

[0032] The connection 4 is arranged in a (usually) invisible area of the toilet bowl 1, here at the upper edge of an interior space of the toilet bowl 1.

[0033] The method for producing a toilet bowl comprises, according to step a), providing the outer skin 2, wherein the outer skin 2 is made of a mineral casting material. According to step b), providing the inner part 3, wherein the inner part 3 is made of a different material than the outer skin 2. According to step c), connecting the outer skin 2 to the inner part 3 to form a toilet bowl 1 takes place via the connection 4. List of reference symbols
