Description

[0001] The invention relates to a household appliance, in particular a refrigerator or freezer, comprising a body having an opening that can be closed by a front panel. The household appliance further comprises a storage container that can be moved and lifted out of the body through the opening.

[0002] Household appliances such as refrigerators or freezers often have compartments as well as containers that can be pulled out from the cabinet, for example, on guide rails to allow for the insertion or removal of stored products. If the containers are located in the lower section of a household appliance that reaches the floor, this can be cumbersome for users.

[0003] The document EP 1 630 506 B1 describes a refrigerator in which a basket is slidably arranged in a drawer. The basket is assigned a lifting device which, after the drawer has been extended, can lift the basket, driven by a drive unit, so that products can be added or removed more easily. The lifting device comprises a frame which is mounted so as to be linearly movable on vertically aligned guide rails and on which the basket is positioned as a storage container. For raising and lowering the lifting frame, an electric motor-driven pivot arm is provided which carries a roller mounted on a rotatable bearing at its free end which rolls along an underside of the lifting frame. The guides for the lifting frame and also the drive unit with the pivot arm are mounted on the inside of a front panel which, mounted on the aforementioned pull-out guides, can be moved out of the body.

[0004] The disadvantage of this arrangement is that the drawer is extended manually, which requires the user to bend down to the drawer. Furthermore, the mounting of the lifting frame on the extendable front panel means that when the drawer is extended, the entire weight of the storage container is transferred via the front panel onto the drawer guides, which are subjected to a high torque when fully extended.

[0005] The document CN 106377214 A shows a dishwasher in which a lower dish basket can be extended on casters on a pivoted front panel, which closes off the interior during operation. Additionally, the dish basket is coupled to a pivoting mechanism attached to the inside of the dishwasher body. After extending, the dish basket can be manually raised, guided by the pivoting mechanism, to make loading and unloading dishes more convenient. Extending and raising are independent movements, so after lowering the dish basket, it must be manually retracted, which in turn requires bending down to the dish basket.

[0006] From the publication WO 2020 / 149535 A1, a refrigerator is known in which a drawer guided by a pull-out guide can be extended by a drive unit. A scissor lift mechanism supporting a storage container is arranged on a base of the drawer. The storage container can be raised and lowered using the scissor lift mechanism. In one embodiment, the drive unit with which the drawer can be moved is coupled to the scissor lift mechanism in such a way that the storage container is raised when the drawer is fully extended and lowered before the drawer is retracted. The mounting of the scissor lift mechanism on the extendable drawer also means that when the drawer is extended, the entire weight of the storage container rests on the pull-out guides, which are accordingly subjected to a high torque when fully extended.

[0007] A similar arrangement is shown in WO 2008 / 038320 A1 for a dishwasher. Instead of a drawer with pull-out guides, a roller carriage is provided on a pivoted-down front panel. Instead of the scissor-type lifting mechanism, a lever mechanism with parallel levers is used. This mechanism is mounted on the roller carriage and supports a dish basket. A coupling rod causes the lever mechanism to slightly raise the dish basket when it is fully extended manually. Here, too, when the dish basket is extended, its entire weight rests on the folded-down front panel.

[0008] The publication KR 2008 0043150 A shows a refrigerator in which a storage container located in a drawer pivots upwards when the drawer is manually pulled out. For this purpose, the storage container is mounted on pivot arms and permanently connected via a guide pin that is guided in a guide track arranged vertically within the drawer. Due to its design, the vertical travel of the storage container is limited to the height of the drawer.

[0009] It is an object of the present invention to provide a household appliance of the type mentioned above, in which a storage container can be moved from a body and significantly raised without requiring manual intervention. A further object is to achieve this with a drive unit that is coupled to the storage container in a mechanically simple and as robust a manner as possible, and that is supported within the body and relieves the load on the front panel.

[0010] This problem is solved by a household appliance having the features of the independent claim. Advantageous embodiments and further developments are the subject of the dependent claims.

[0011] A household appliance according to the invention is characterized in that at least one pivoting arm is arranged on the body and that at least one sliding guide is connected to the front panel or is formed thereon, wherein the storage container is coupled on the one hand to a free end of the pivoting arm and on the other hand is guided in the sliding guide.

[0012] The swivel arm allows the storage container to be moved out of the body and lifted in a single movement—swiveling the swivel arm. The guide link couples the storage container to the front panel, allowing the front panel to move with it and eliminating the need for separate drive. The guide link also guides the storage container, allowing it to be aligned appropriately. In particular, at least some sections of the storage container can be guided so that its loading and unloading opening faces upward.

[0013] For the purposes of this application, the term "storage container" refers to any arrangement that allows for the accommodation of objects to be stored. In particular, the storage container can also be constructed in several parts and include, for example, a frame-like holder, which is coupled to the pivot arm or the guide rail, as indicated, and which accommodates at least one removable container.

[0014] In a preferred embodiment of the household appliance, the swivel arm on the storage container is mounted in a sliding and pivoting guide. The sliding guide enables at least partial horizontal movement of the storage container during the pivoting movement of the swivel arm, e.g., while the storage container is still located in the body and is being moved over an intermediate shelf of the body.

[0015] In a further preferred embodiment, the sliding and pivoting guide is arranged in a rear and lower area of the storage container. This allows the storage container to be lifted particularly far out of the body and particularly high above its position within the body, given the swivel arm length.

[0016] In a further preferred embodiment, the pivoting range of the sliding and pivoting guide is restricted in at least one pivoting direction. This can be achieved, for example, by abutting a stop surface of the pivot arm against a stop. The orientation of the storage container can also be influenced in this way. Provision can be made for the storage container to be guided by the link guide only in a lower section of its movement, and for the orientation of the storage container to be determined by the aforementioned stop in an upper section.

[0017] Furthermore, the slotted guide has a groove-like guide track which accommodates at least one guide means of the storage container. The at least one guide means can be, for example, a roller or a sliding block. Preferably, two guide means of the storage container are assigned to the slotted guide at a distance from one another, so that parallel guidance of the storage container occurs when both guide means are located in the guide track. According to the invention, the guide track of the slotted guide is open at the top and widens in a funnel shape towards the upper end. In this way, a coupling of the storage container and front panel is only achieved in sections. In this way, the slotted guide is sufficient to move the front panel along with it, but does not restrict further upward movement of the storage container. The widened opening of the guide track ensures that the coupling is resumed when the storage container is retracted again.

[0018] To ensure good and robust guidance of the storage container, two pivot arms are preferably provided, each engaging one side of the storage container. Similarly, two guide rails can also be provided, one on each side of the storage container.

[0019] It can also be provided to guide the storage container only centrally with at least one swivel arm and to achieve stability via a connection on both sides to the front panel, e.g. in combination with synchronization devices.

[0020] The front panel can be mounted on the cabinet body, guided by at least one pull-out guide, allowing linear movement. In the extended position, it can be prevented from moving backward by a push-in safety device, e.g., a catch or pawl located inside or on the pull-out guide. This push-in safety device can be force-locked and / or positive-locked and can be activated or released either by the swivel arm or the storage container, so that a locking effect is activated simply by lifting the storage container. To ensure the locking function, the push-in safety device can optionally be supported by a force accumulator.

[0021] Alternatively, it is also conceivable to design the front panel as a flap that is hinged or pivoted on the body.

[0022] In a further preferred embodiment, the household appliance has a drive arrangement that acts on the at least one pivot arm to pivot it between at least two pivot positions. The drive arrangement can, for example, comprise a drive unit with a drive motor and gear. The gear is preferably self-locking, e.g., as a worm gear. The storage container then remains in the raised position without further action. Alternatively, blocking or braking devices can be provided to prevent the storage container from sinking.

[0023] The drive unit can, for example, act via a belt on a pivot axis on which at least one pivot arm is mounted in a rotationally fixed manner. Other transmissions, e.g., via levers or directly via intermeshing gears or linear drives, are also possible.

[0024] In a further preferred embodiment, the household appliance has a protective cover that is attached to the storage container and extends downwards toward the front panel on at least one side of the storage container. The protective cover can, for example, be telescopic and can be raised or extended with the storage container. The protective cover prevents objects or body parts from penetrating a gap between the storage container and the front panel or between other components of the assembly, at least one of which is moving. The protective cover reduces the risk of entrapment by the moving components.

[0025] The described arrangement with the liftable storage container can be implemented particularly advantageously in a refrigerator and / or freezer as a household appliance.

[0026] The invention is illustrated below by exemplary embodiments with the aid of figures. The figures show: Fig. 1a-fine isometric representation of a household appliance in a first embodiment in different stages of a movement sequence of a storage container; Fig. 2a-f each a sectional view of the household appliance of the Fig. 1a-f ; Fig. 3a-f each show a further sectional view of the household appliance of Fig. 1a-f ; Fig. 4 shows an isometric exploded view of components of the household appliance of the first embodiment; Fig. 5a, b each shows a sectional drawing of a household appliance in a second embodiment; Fig. 6 shows an isometric view of a third embodiment of a household appliance with the storage container moved out and raised; and Fig. 7a, b each shows a sectional view with an enlarged detail of a further embodiment of a household appliance with an anti-insertion device for the pull-out guide.

[0027] In all figures, identical reference symbols identify identical or equivalent elements. For reasons of clarity, not every element in the figures is provided with a reference symbol.

[0028] In the description, terms such as "top," "bottom," "left," and "right" initially refer to the exemplary representation chosen in the respective figures. With regard to the terms "top" and "bottom," the representation in the figures corresponds to the orientation typically assumed in the room. The terms "front" and "rear" are to be understood with reference to the household appliance, whereby the front of the household appliance refers to a front side facing the user, on which doors, flaps, or similar elements of the household appliance are located.

[0029] The Figuren 1a-f show a first embodiment of a household appliance 1 in an isometric representation in different states of movement of a storage container 41. In the Figuren 2a-f and 3a-f the household appliance 1 is shown in various vertical sections with the same movement states of the storage container 41. Fig. 4 Finally, Figure 1 shows components of the household appliance 1 in an isometric exploded view.

[0030] Before the details of the technical realization are explained below, an overview of the movement sequence is given. The partial images with the same addition (a, b, c, etc.) of the three figure sequences of the Fig. 1a-f or 2a-f or 3a-f each show the same state in the movement sequence. Even if only one of the figures is explicitly mentioned as an example in the following description, the corresponding description refers to the corresponding figures in all three sequences, i.e. Fig. 1a-f and 2a-f and 3a-f .

[0031] The household appliance 1 comprises a body 2 with side walls 21 and two or more shelves 22. A rear wall is not shown for reasons of clarity. The household appliance 1 can be, for example, a refrigerator or freezer. As such, it typically comprises a multi-layer insulating body and technical cooling devices. These are not shown in the illustrations of this application for reasons of clarity. The representation of the body 2 is to be considered a purely schematic representation.

[0032] The body 2 has openings facing forward, one of which is closed with a front panel 31 ( Fig. 1a ). The front panel 31 is part of a front panel assembly 3, which further comprises a pull-out guide 32, on which the front panel 31 is guided and through which the front panel 31 can be extended from the body 2. The front panel 31 is connected to the pull-out guide by lateral frame elements 33. The front panel assembly 3 thus represents a sliding element, which, however, unlike a drawer, for example, does not require a base.

[0033] When a trigger device is activated, the movement sequence starts with the extension of this push element, as in Fig. 1b The entire movement sequence, including the extension of the thrust element, is driven by a drive arrangement 5, which, for example, in the sequences of Figuren 2af and 3a-f is visible in the sectional views. The drive arrangement 5 has a drive unit 51 which comprises an electric motor with a downstream gear. The drive unit 51 is controlled by a control device (not visible here), which is controlled by the triggering device. The triggering device can be, for example, a manually operable button arranged at a convenient reachable height on the household appliance 1. Alternatively or additionally, remote triggering can also occur, for example wirelessly via a radio switch coupled to the control device, which can also be a mobile device, for example a mobile phone of the user. Touch- or proximity-sensitive switches and / or voice- or gesture-controlled switches can also be used.

[0034] With the front panel 31, the storage container 41 initially moves essentially forward out of the body 2. In further stages of the movement sequence (see Fig. 1c-d ), the storage container 41 is lifted upwards while maintaining its orientation. In the next movement stage, the storage container performs a combined pivoting and lifting movement, by which it is further lifted and tilted forwards with its opening (see Fig. 1e ). The movement sequence could be terminated at this point, since the storage container 41 is already raised and easily accessible. In an alternative embodiment, it may be provided to continue the movement sequence and, in a pivoting movement, to further raise the storage container 41 and, on the other hand, to return it to its original orientation (cf. Fig. 1f ).

[0035] It is understood that the opening sequence shown is Fig. 1a-f or 2a-f and 3a-f can also be run through in reverse to lower the storage container 41 again and move it into the body 2. This can preferably be done after a further request from the user. Alternatively or additionally, it is conceivable that after exceeding a certain time for which the storage container 41 is to be moved into the Fig. 1e or f shown positions, it is automatically retracted again. In this way, a household appliance 1 that is accidentally left open can be prevented. Sensors can be used to detect the presence of a person in the area of the household appliance 1, so that retraction only occurs when no person is near the household appliance 1. This prevents a storage container 41 that has been deliberately left in the extended position from being retracted unintentionally and prevents the risk of injury if it is unexpectedly retracted.

[0036] With particular reference to Fig. 4 and the Fig. 3a-f Details of the technical implementation of the previously explained movement sequence are explained below.

[0037] As already mentioned, the entire movement is driven by the drive assembly 5 and the drive unit 51, which is arranged in a rear area in the body 2. The drive unit 51 provides a rotary movement, which in the example shown is transmitted via an output gear 52 and a belt 53, in particular a toothed belt, to a drive gear 54, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a pivot axis 45.

[0038] The pivot axis 45 runs transversely across the entire width of the body 2 and is rotatably mounted thereon in pivot bearings 46. For example, the pivot bearings 46 are mounted on the outside of the body 2 shown, which is particularly possible if the body 2 shown has an outer panel not shown here. In other cases, the pivot bearing 46 can also be arranged in a wall of the body 2 or on its interior.

[0039] Two pivot arms 44 are rotationally fixedly coupled to the pivot axis 45, each hinged to the outside of the storage container 41 in its lower area. In the example shown, the drive gear 54 is positioned approximately centrally on the pivot axis 45. This can be implemented differently in alternative designs of a pivot assembly 4, to which the storage container 41, the pivot axis 45, the pivot bearings 46, and the pivot arms 44 can be assigned. The coupling of the drive assembly 5 to the pivot axis 45 can also be implemented alternatively. Instead of a drive assembly 5, which converts a rotary movement of the output gear 52 into the pivoting movement of the pivot arms 44 by means of the belt 53, transmission can also be effected directly to the pivot arms 44 using a push rod or via a further pivot lever arranged on the pivot axis 45.Instead of a drive unit 5 that provides a rotary movement, a drive unit can also be used that provides a linear movement at its output member.

[0040] The pivot axis 45 is positioned in a front and, in relation to the area in which the storage container 41 is positioned within the body 2, upper area of the body 2. The free end of the pivot arm 44 is mounted on the storage container 41 in a combined sliding and pivoting guide 42. Due to this mounting, a pivoting movement of the pivot arms 44 is transferred into a combined pivoting and lifting movement of the storage container 41, whereby initially a certain degree of freedom for the composition of these movements exists on the storage container 41. In order to achieve a defined movement of the storage container 41, at least one further guide of the storage container 41 relative to the body 2 is provided.

[0041] A first of these additional guides is provided by a coupling between the storage container 41 and the front panel assembly 3. In the first embodiment, a slotted guide 34 is formed for this purpose as part of the front panel assembly 3, in which guide means 43 of the storage container 41 move in a guided manner. The slotted guide 34 is well integrated into the Fig. 3e and f can be seen, in which the storage container 41 reveals the view of the guide rail 34. The guide rail 34 offers a straight guideway in its lower area for the guide means 43, which only allows a linear movement of the storage container 41 vertically upwards parallel to the plane of the front panel 31. As Fig. 3f shows, the guidance of the storage container 41 in the slotted guide 34 only exists for a lower section of the storage container 41. From a certain height position of the storage container 41, the guide means 43 leave the slotted guide 34. In order to guide the guide means 43 safely back into the slotted guide 34 when the movement is reversed, the guide track of the slotted guide 34 widens upwards in a funnel shape to an insertion opening 35.

[0042] Starting from a beginning of the movement sequence e.g. in Fig. 3a A pivoting movement of the pivot arms 44 leads to a movement of the storage container 41 and - through the coupling of the link guide 34 and guide means 43 - to a sliding movement of the pull-out guide 32 and the front panel 31. As long as the storage container 41 is located in the area of the body 2, a further guide can consist of the storage container 41 sitting with its underside on the lower floor 22 of the body 2 and thus also being guided horizontally. The conversion of the pivoting movement of the pivot arm 44 into the linear sliding movement of the storage container 41 is made possible by the corresponding stroke degree of freedom of the sliding and pivot bearing 42.In an alternative embodiment of the pivoting arrangement 4, a pure pivoting movement of the storage container 41 can also be implemented if the bottom 22 has a correspondingly curved shape or there is sufficient free space to the bottom 22 so that the bottom 22 does not determine the movement of the storage container 41.

[0043] From the Fig. 3b In the state shown, the sliding and pivoting bearing 42 is positioned at a stop with respect to the sliding movement, so that from this position onwards the storage container 41 only follows the pivoting movement of the pivot arm 44. Its orientation, i.e. its angular position with respect to a rotation about a horizontal axis, is, however, determined by the vertical guidance of the guide means 43 in the guide rail 34. Upon further pivoting of the pivot arms 44, a pivoting movement thus takes place while maintaining the orientation of the storage container 41 in space up to the Fig. 3d shown position. Upon further pivoting of the pivot arms 44, first the upper and then the lower guide means 43 runs out of the slotted guide 34 or its insertion opening 35, whereby the storage container 41 tilts down to the position shown in Fig. 3e shown position. Further tipping is then prevented by a stop surface 441 of the swivel arm 44 against a stop angle 421 of the sliding and swivel bearing 42. The relative alignment of the storage container 41 to the swivel arm 44, defined by the stop surface 441 and the stop angle 421, is then maintained until the Fig. 3f The stop surface 441 and the stop angle 421 are shown in the exploded view in Fig. 4 to see.

[0044] In the Fig. 5a and bA further exemplary embodiment of a household appliance 1 is shown in the form of a sectional drawing. With regard to the basic structure of the household appliance 1, including the body 2, pivot assembly 4, and drive assembly 5, the second exemplary embodiment essentially corresponds to the first exemplary embodiment, to the description of which explicit reference is hereby made. What is different in the second exemplary embodiment is, in particular, the design of the front panel assembly 3.

[0045] The second embodiment also features a front panel 31 that opens into the body 2 through which the storage container 41 is moved out. Unlike the first embodiment, however, the front panel 31 is not guided linearly by a pull-out guide (cf. pull-out guide 32 in the first embodiment), but is designed as a downwardly pivoting flap that is pivotably attached to the body 2 by a hinge or pivot arrangement (not shown here).

[0046] As in the first embodiment, a sliding guide 34 is formed on the front panel 31 or a common support on each side of the storage container 41, in which the storage container 41 is guided by guide means 43 in sections of the movement sequence. With suitable dimensioning, in particular length and, if applicable, shape of the guide track of the sliding guide 34, the storage container 41 can also be guided during a pivoting movement of the front panel 31 in such a way that it is moved out of the body 2 by a pivoting movement of the pivot arms 44, thereby opening the front panel 31. Upon further movement, the storage container 41 leaves the guide along the front panel 31 and is guided in a pivoting movement to a convenient removal position, which essentially corresponds to the Fig. 3e or f of the first embodiment.

[0047] When the pivot arms 44 are pivoted back in, the storage container 41 is initially lowered while maintaining its relative pivot position relative to the pivot arms 44, with the guide means 43 entering the insertion opening 35 of the guide rail 34. Further pivoting moves the storage container 41 into the body 2 and closes the front panel 31.

[0048] As an alternative to the straight design of the guideway of the link guide 34 shown, in this embodiment, as well as in the first embodiment, a curved design of the guideway can be provided in order to achieve a particularly smooth and harmonious movement sequence of both the storage container 41 and the front panel 31.

[0049] Fig. 6 shows in the form of an isometric representation analogous to Fig. 1f Another embodiment of a household appliance not forming part of the invention. This essentially represents a further development of the first embodiment, in which the front panel 31, as part of a sliding arrangement, performs a linear extension movement. Again, with regard to the basic structure, reference is made to the first embodiment, and differences are noted.

[0050] In this embodiment, a protective cover 47 is provided around at least three sides of the storage container 41, specifically the front surface facing the user and both sides. This protective cover is designed to be telescopic and is raised and extended with the storage container 41. The protective cover 47 prevents objects or body parts from penetrating a gap between the storage container 41 or other components of the pivoting arrangement 4 and the front panel 31 or the frame elements 33 or other components of the front panel arrangement 3. In this way, the risk of entrapment between moving components is reduced.

[0051] The protective covering 47 can be raised in the form of an apron and can be provided in addition to a linear guide that is present between the front panel arrangement 3 and the storage container 41. The linear guide can extend over only part of the vertical movement of the storage container 41, as shown in the first example, or it can be designed over the entire vertical movement range of the storage container 41 relative to the front panel arrangement 3. The protective covering 47 can be connected to the storage container 41 or front panel arrangement 3 via bolts or elastic elements, such as cables. Alternatively, the protective covering 47 can have spring elements that push it upwards as soon as the storage container 41 is raised. When the storage container 41 is lowered, the latter presses the protective covering 47 down against the spring force.

[0052] In a further development, the protective device 47 itself can be designed as a linear guide which guides a vertical movement of the storage container 41 relative to the front panel arrangement 3.

[0053] The Fig. 7a and 7b In each case, a further household appliance 1 is shown in a sectional view. This household appliance is not part of the invention. In terms of basic structure, the embodiment shown here corresponds to the previously described ones, to whose descriptions explicit reference is hereby made.

[0054] In this embodiment, a storage container 41 is also guided such that it can be extended from a cabinet 2 and lifted, with a front panel assembly 3 also being extended. The drawer guide 32 in this embodiment (as in the first example) is designed as a full-extension slide, comprising a cabinet rail 321 mounted on the cabinet 2, a center rail 322 slidably mounted thereon, and a guide rail 323 slidably mounted thereon.

[0055] In the one here in the Fig. 7a and 7b In the embodiment shown, a locking lever 324 is pivotally mounted on the guide rail. The locking lever 324 is designed as a two-sided lever, with a front lever arm of the locking lever 324 projecting freely forward toward the front panel 31. The opposite rear lever arm is provided at its end with a downwardly projecting locking pawl 325.

[0056] Fig. 7a shows an extended and lowered position of the storage container 41. In this position, a protruding actuator 411, located on the side of the storage container 41, pushes down the front lever arm of the locking lever 324. The actuator 411 is bolt-shaped in the example shown. The locking lever is slightly angled, raising the rear lever arm with the locking pawl 325. In this position, the locking pawl 325 does not interfere with the drawer guide 32, allowing it to be retracted unhindered.

[0057] Fig. 7b shows an extended and (slightly) raised position of the storage container 41. With the storage container 41, the actuator 411 is raised and no longer acts on the front lever arm of the locking lever 324. Due to gravity, the rear lever arm of the locking lever 324 with the locking pawl 325 is lowered. In the fully extended position of the drawer guide 32 shown, the locking pawl projects past the middle rail 322 to the front end of the cabinet rail 321, whereby re-insertion of the drawer guide 32 is blocked. Only when the storage container 41 is as shown in Fig. 7a shown is substantially completely lowered, the locking pawl 325 is raised again and the movement of the running rail or the center rail relative to the body rail 321 is released again. To improve functional reliability, in addition to the gravity-induced lowering of the locking pawl 325, the locking lever 324 can be preloaded in the locking direction with an energy accumulator, e.g., a spring.

[0058] The locking lever 324, together with the actuator 411, forms a push-in safety device which ensures that the front panel assembly 3 cannot be retracted when the storage container 41 is raised, which could otherwise lead to collisions between the storage container 41 and the front panel assembly 3 when it is lowered again.
