Description

[0001] The invention relates to a door hinge comprising a first hinge part, a second hinge part, and a hinge bracket assembly pivotably connecting the first hinge part to the second hinge part between an open position and a closed position. The hinge bracket assembly comprises a first hinge bracket and a second hinge bracket pivotably connected to the first hinge bracket about a connecting axis. The first hinge bracket has a first contact surface which, in the open position, rests flatly against a second contact surface of the second hinge bracket.

[0002] Such door hinges are commonly referred to as "multi-axis hinges." Depending on the connection of the hinge bracket to the first hinge part and the second hinge part, these can be designed as five-axis hinges, six-axis hinges, or seven-axis hinges. This arrangement makes it possible to construct a concealed door hinge that allows opening angles of up to 180°. Such concealed door hinges are used particularly in high-end environments.

[0003] However, the indirect force transmission through the hinge bracket arrangement also leads to a certain degree of flexibility / compliance – especially in the open position. Despite high-quality workmanship and the use of sturdy materials, a clearly defined stop cannot be achieved in all cases. Extremely small product tolerances, flexible materials (e.g., in bearing bushes), and large lever ratios often result in concealed door hinges having a "springy" feel in the open position. Although this does not compromise objective stability, a clearly defined stop in the open position is desirable.

[0004] A generic door hinge is known from DE 20 2010 016 896 U1.

[0005] EP 3 176 353 B1, EP 3 274 533 B1 and US 1 030 936 A each show a multi-joint hinge in which the hinge brackets therein lie flat against one another in the opening position and form a projection.

[0006] Against this background, the object of the invention is to stabilize the hinge bracket arrangement of a multi-axis joint in such a way that the haptics have a clearly defined stop in the opening position.

[0007] The subject of the invention and the solution to this problem is a door hinge according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments are specified in the dependent subclaims.

[0008] According to the invention, a projection protrudes from the first contact surface and a receptacle is formed on the second hinge bracket, into which receptacle the projection engages in a form-fitting manner in the open position. The form-fitting connection between the projection and the receptacle significantly improves the stability of the hinge bracket arrangement in the open position. This makes it possible, in particular, to reduce elasticity at the connection between the first hinge bracket and the second hinge bracket - i.e. in the region of the connecting bolt. As a result, in the open position the first hinge bracket and the second hinge bracket behave more like a rigid unit, so that the subjective stability of the door hinge in the open position is also increased.

[0009] In particular, the first contact surface is aligned approximately radially with respect to the connecting axis between the first hinge bracket and the second hinge bracket. The first hinge bracket and the second hinge bracket are preferably connected to one another by a connecting bolt so as to be pivotable about the connecting axis. The first contact surface extends in particular in a plane that runs through the connecting bolt—particularly preferably through the connecting axis. The approximately radial alignment results in the first hinge bracket in the region of the first contact surface and the second hinge bracket in the region of the second contact surface abutting one another flatly upon pivoting.

[0010] Advantageously, the projection adjoins the first contact surface at an angle between 90° and 135° - preferably approximately 120°.

[0011] The projection, which adjoins the first contact surface at approximately a right angle or at a slightly overextended angle, is aligned approximately tangentially with respect to the connecting axis. Accordingly, when the two hinge brackets pivot, the contact surfaces there come into contact with a shearing movement running almost parallel to the contact planes. This, in combination with the contact on the first and second contact surfaces, provides a defined stop for the first hinge bracket and the second hinge bracket, which, due to the almost tangential contact surface on the projection, also causes slight tension in the radial direction. This reduces bearing play - particularly on the connecting axis - and increases the stability of the assembly consisting of the first hinge bracket and second hinge bracket.

[0012] According to the invention, the door hinge is designed as a multiple hinge, particularly in a five-axis, six-axis, or seven-axis design. The first hinge bracket is arranged on the first hinge part so that it can pivot about a first hinge axis. Furthermore, the first hinge bracket is guided for rotation about a second hinge axis that is positively guided on the second hinge part. The second hinge bracket is held for rotation about a fourth hinge axis on the second hinge part, and a third hinge axis that is positively guided on the first hinge part is guided for rotation.

[0013] When the door hinge pivots between the open and closed positions, the hinge bracket assembly shifts relative to the two hinge parts, with the second hinge axis and the third hinge axis moving along the respective positive guides. These shifts are coordinated by a relative pivoting of the first hinge bracket relative to the second hinge bracket – and the associated change in distance between the first hinge axis and the fourth hinge axis, or between the second hinge axis and the third hinge axis. The first hinge axis, the second hinge axis, the third hinge axis, the fourth hinge axis, and the connecting axis are aligned parallel to one another – particularly in the vertical direction.

[0014] Within the scope of the invention, it is particularly possible for the third hinge axis to be positively guided on the first hinge part in a slotted guide. This can in particular be of linear design - although the invention does not have to be limited to such embodiments. According to the invention, the second hinge axis is positively guided on the second hinge part by means of a pivot lever. Optionally, the third hinge axis on the first hinge part can also be positively guided by means of a pivot lever. The respective pivot lever is held on the corresponding hinge part about a pivot axis aligned parallel to the hinge axes and the connecting axis, and thereby effects a circular arc-shaped positive guidance of the associated hinge axis.

[0015] According to the invention, the second hinge axis is positively guided on the second hinge part by a pivot arm. When combined with a first hinge bracket guided by a pivot arm, the stabilization according to the invention can be particularly effective. Especially in designs with six or seven axes (connecting axis, hinge axes, and pivot axes), a particularly soft and "springy" stop has often been achieved in the past. Such designs, in particular, benefit from the additional stabilization within the scope of the present invention.

[0016] According to the invention, the pivot arm, in the open position, rests flatly with an inner surface against an outer surface of the second hinge bracket. This flat contact provides additional support and definitively limits the pivoting movement of the pivot arm.

[0017] Particularly preferably, the outer surface of the second hinge bracket forms an angle of between 90° and 135°, preferably approximately 120°, with the second contact surface. As a result, the second hinge bracket is enclosed three times in the open position to be stabilized, namely by the flat pivot arm, the first contact surface of the first hinge bracket adjoining it at an angle, and finally the projection of the first hinge bracket, which in turn adjoins it at an angle. In the open position, the second hinge bracket is enclosed in a C-shape, resulting in secure locking. An additional factor is that the contact between the projection and the receptacle can cause tension and / or displacement of the first hinge bracket in the direction of the connection axis. In In such a design, the swivel arm is pressed against the stop of the inner surface and outer surface, so that under this tensioning force a particularly secure and stable connection is created between the first hinge bracket, second hinge bracket and swivel arm. In As a result, the three components stabilize themselves into a single rigid assembly, which significantly increases the stabilization of the entire door hinge in the opening position.

[0018] According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the inner surface of the pivot arm extends in a plane which runs through a pivot pin connecting the pivot arm to the second hinge part, in particular through the pivot axis. The inner surface, like the outer surface, is particularly flat. This radial alignment means that the stop between the inner surface and the outer surface occurs in the direction of the pivoting movement. In the event of additional loading - for example due to tension in the direction of the connecting axis generated by the interaction between the projection and the holder - no lateral displacement or tension - i.e. radial to the pivot axis - is to be expected. This design makes it possible to specify an exact maximum opening angle of the opening position.

[0019] The inventive stabilization of the opening position allows the maximum opening angle to be precisely defined. This is preferably between 135° and 180°, in particular between 170° and 180°. According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the maximum opening angle of the door hinge is defined with an accuracy of less than 3° in a range between 175° and 180°. In particular, the size of the door leaf and any structures mounted thereon, such as door handles, can be taken into account in such a way that a collision with the wall surface surrounding the door is reliably avoided.

[0020] It is preferably provided that the first band part has a first receiving body on which the hinge bracket arrangement is received and the second band part has a second receiving body on which the hinge bracket arrangement is also received.

[0021] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the pivot arm rests against the second receiving body with a back surface in the closed state. This stabilizes the hinge bracket assembly even in the closed position.

[0022] According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the first hinge bracket is T-shaped and the second hinge bracket is O-shaped. The first hinge bracket has a vertical member and a central section projecting horizontally therefrom. The second hinge bracket is formed from two vertical members which are connected to one another horizontally by an upper and a lower connecting section. The central section of the first hinge bracket extends through the opening bordered by the second hinge bracket. A connecting bolt which is designed concentrically around the connecting axis extends through the second hinge bracket at the connecting sections and the first hinge bracket at the central section. The vertical members of the first hinge part and the second hinge part preferably have the same height.

[0023] According to a particularly preferred embodiment, the pivot arm is C-shaped, with a vertical beam and two holding sections projecting horizontally from the vertical beam. The holding sections encompass one end of the central section of the first hinge bracket and are rotatably connected to it by a second hinge pin arranged concentrically around the second hinge axis.

[0024] According to a preferred embodiment, the holding sections at least partially form an inner surface for engagement with the second hinge bracket. Conveniently, the ends of the holding sections have a protruding thickened portion, which, particularly preferably in the open position, engages in an associated recess on the outside of the second hinge bracket. As a result, the hinge bracket assembly forms a form-fitting unit comprising the first hinge bracket, second hinge bracket, and pivot arm, which nestle against one another in a form-fitting manner at several contact surfaces extending in different directions.

[0025] To reduce friction, the hinge axes, the connecting axes, and any pivot axes are preferably supported by bearing bushings or T-nuts on the hinge bracket assembly and / or the hinge parts. These are preferably made of a plastic material and, in particular, provided with a friction-reducing component—for example, a PTFE coating.

[0026] In principle, it is sufficient for the implementation of the invention if only the first hinge bracket has a projection that engages with an associated receptacle of the second hinge bracket. However, it is also possible within the scope of the invention for a projection to be additionally arranged on the second hinge bracket, which—in the region of the first hinge part—engages with an associated receptacle of the first hinge bracket. Thus, the stabilizing effect can be achieved both in the contact area with the first hinge part and with the second hinge part.

[0027] The present invention is particularly well suited for asymmetrically constructed door hinges. In this case, the stabilization according to the invention can particularly preferably be used on a (second) hinge part which provides a positive guide with the aid of a pivot arm. The second hinge part can also be optimized with regard to a particularly shallow installation depth. On the corresponding first hinge part, a positive guide of a (fourth) hinge axis can be realized, in particular via a linear guide. In this case, the first hinge part has a greater installation depth than the second hinge part. Particularly preferably, the first hinge part can have an installation depth which corresponds to at least twice the installation depth of the second hinge part. In this case, additional stabilization in the region of the first hinge part is not required.

[0028] The invention is explained below with reference to drawings which represent only one exemplary embodiment. They show schematically Fig. 1 is a three-dimensional representation of a door hinge according to the invention, Figures 2A to 2C are a horizontal section of the door hinge according to the invention in various opening positions, and Fig. 3 is a three-dimensional exploded view of the hinge bracket arrangement of the door hinge.

[0029] The Fig. 1 shows in a three-dimensional representation a door hinge 1 according to the invention with a first hinge part 2, a second hinge part 3 and a first hinge part 2 with the second hinge part 3 between a - in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2C shown - opening position and one - in Fig. 2A The door hinge 1 extends in a vertical direction z, a lateral direction x, and a pressure direction y. The pivoting movement caused by the hinge bracket arrangement 4 includes a rotation about the vertical direction z. The amount of this rotation in relation to the closed position is also referred to as the opening angle α. The opening movement enabled by the hinge bracket arrangement is not purely rotational in nature, but also includes a translational component.

[0030] The hinge bracket arrangement 4 comprises a first hinge bracket 5 and a second hinge bracket 7 pivotally connected to the first hinge bracket 5 about a connecting axis 6. The connection between the first hinge bracket 5 and the second hinge bracket 7 is provided by a connecting bolt 8 arranged around the connecting axis 6.

[0031] In the Figuren 2A bis 2C The door hinge 1 according to the invention is shown in different opening positions in the installed state: The first hinge part 2 is mounted in a front-side recess of a door leaf 9a and the second hinge part 3 in a reveal-side recess of a door frame 9b. In the Fig. 2A In the closing position shown (with an opening angle α of 0°), the door hinge 1 is arranged concealed between the door leaf 9a and the door frame 9b. Fig. 2B shows a half-open position with an opening angle α of 90°. Fig. 2C the opening position is shown in which the door leaf 9 is pivoted by a maximum opening angle α of 180° relative to the closed position.

[0032] How to compare the Figuren 2A bis 2C As can be seen, the first hinge bracket 5 has a first contact surface 10. The first contact surface 10 extends in a plane 11, which runs through the connecting bolt 8 and has a minimum distance of less than 5 mm from the connecting axis 6. The second hinge bracket 7, in turn, has a second contact surface 12, which in the Fig. 2C In the illustrated opening position, the hinge bracket 4 rests flat against the first contact surface 10. According to the invention, a projection 13 protrudes from the first contact surface 10, which, in the opening position, positively engages a receptacle 14 of the second hinge bracket 7. This flat contact stabilizes the hinge bracket assembly 4 in the opening position, thus preventing a "springy" feel.

[0033] In In the exemplary embodiment, the projection 13 is formed with a substantially rectangular cross-section, two side surfaces 13a and a cover surface 13b, which adjoin one another with rounded edges. Adjoining the side surface 13a facing away from the first contact surface 10 is an outer surface of the first hinge bracket 5, which also extends in the same plane 11 as the first contact surface 10.

[0034] The receptacle 14 of the second hinge bracket 7 is designed and arranged such that, in the open position, it rests fully against a side surface 13a and a cover surface 13b. This creates a large-area contact that provides positive support in several spatial directions.

[0035] The door hinge 1 shown in the exemplary embodiment has a so-called six-axis hinge bracket arrangement 4. The first hinge bracket 5 is pivotally connected to the first hinge part 2 by a first hinge pin 15a about a first hinge axis a. The first hinge bracket 5 is pivotally connected to the second hinge part 3 by a second hinge axis b that is positively guided on the second hinge part 3. For this purpose, a second hinge pin 15b passes through the first hinge bracket 5, which is positively guided in a circular arc on the second hinge part 3 by a pivot arm 16. The pivot arm 16 is pivotally connected to the second hinge part 3 by a pivot pin 17 about a pivot axis e. The second hinge bracket 7, on the other hand, is pivotally connected to the first hinge part 2 about a third hinge axis c, which is positively guided linearly in a slotted guide 18.The link guide 18 has a groove 18a in which a sliding block 18b is guided, which receives a third hinge pin 15c arranged concentrically around the third hinge axis c. The rotatable connection of the second hinge bracket 7 to the second hinge part 3 is achieved via a fourth hinge pin 15d arranged concentrically around a fourth hinge axis.

[0036] How to do this in particular Fig. 1 As can be seen, the first hinge part 2 has a first base body 2a for attachment to a door leaf 9 and a two-part hinge bracket receptacle 2b arranged therein. The hinge bracket receptacle is formed from two mirror-symmetrical individual parts, which form both the groove 18a of the slotted guide 18 and the receptacle for the first hinge pin 15a. To provide lateral adjustment, the hinge bracket receptacles 2b are movable in the lateral direction x via adjusting screws 2c.

[0037] Similarly, the second hinge part 3 has a second base body 3a in which the hinge bracket assembly 4 is held. For this purpose, two inner inserts 3b are provided, which hold the fourth hinge pin 15d for the rotatable mounting of the second hinge bracket 7 as well as the pivot pin 17 for the pivot arm 16. The inner inserts 3b are held on a central insert 3c by an eccentric adjustment, displaceable in the pressure direction y. The central insert 3c, in turn, is guided on the second base body 3a, adjustable in the vertical direction z.

[0038] How to compare the Figuren 2B and 2CAs can be seen, the second hinge bracket 7 has an outer surface 19 which, in the open position, rests flat against an associated inner surface 20 of the pivot arm 16. The inner surface 20 extends in a plane 21 which runs through the pivot axis e. On the second hinge bracket, the outer surface 19 forms an angle β of approximately 120° with the second contact surface 12.

[0039] From the Fig. 2A It can be seen that the pivot arm 16 in the closed position rests with a back surface 22 on the receiving body 3a of the second band part 3.

[0040] In the Fig. 3the individual components of the hinge bracket arrangement 4 are shown in an exploded view. The position of the hinge axes a to d, the pivot axis e and the connecting axis 6 are shown in dash-dotted lines. The first hinge bracket 5 is T-shaped with a lateral bar 5a and an adjoining central section 5b. The second hinge bracket 7 is in turn O-shaped with two vertical bars 7a, 7b and two horizontal sections 7c, 7d connecting the vertical bars 7a, 7b to one another in the horizontal direction. The horizontal sections 7c, 7d encompass the central section 5b of the first hinge bracket 5 in the vertical direction z. The pivot lever 16 has a C-shape with a vertical bar 16a and two encompassing sections 16b, 16c projecting laterally therefrom. These engage around the end of the central section 5b of the first hinge bracket 5 opposite the first vertical bar 5a and are connected thereto for rotation about the second hinge axis b. In the illustrated embodiment, the projection 13 according to the invention is formed on the non-visible rear side of the central section 5b on the first hinge bracket. The receptacle 14 is visible as a bulge on the second vertical bar 7b of the second hinge bracket 7. While all vertical bars 5a, 7a, 7b, 16a extend over the same height h, the projection 13 and the receptacle 14 make up no more than half of this height.
