A refrigeration plant uses gas, liquid, and mechanical energy to move heat from one place to another. A liquid, such as ammonia, which has a low boiling temperature is allowed to pass into a space via tubing. As the pressure in the ammonia drops, the liquid begins to boil, and enter a phase transition from liquid to gas. In doing so, there is a great absorption of heat energy by the liquid in the tubing to create this phase change. The heat energy is absorbed from the space, and as the liquid boils off, it forms a gas. The gas is pulled through the tubing in the space into a suction header outside the space to the suction of a compressor. The compressor repressurises the gas, and discharges the liquid through cold water heat exchangers or cooling fans, exhausting the heat absorbed from the space, into the outside atmosphere. By pressurising and cooling the gas, the gas returns to a liquid stage, where it is stored and reintroduced to the space to be cooled.

Heat exchanger apparatus and method for evaporative cooling refrigeration unit

This invention is for a highly efficient heat transfer unit and method for heat transfer for an air conditioning refrigeration unit. The invention has a plurality of condenser coils that stand generally vertically upright (with up to 20° tilt to optimize downward water flow with air being pulled across) between a splash louver and an evaporative fill material. The evaporative fill material and the splash louver transfer heat from the water by air cross flow to make the air conditioning unit very efficient and reduces the amount of copper coils needed. The condenser coils are cooled by water flowing down through them and into a sump. The condenser coils are also cooled by air pulled across them by a fan mounted on the top of the air conditioning unit. The sump in the bottom of the unit has a wall that directs the water in it to a water pump that then sends the water to the water distribution pipe. The water pipe covers the water distribution member with water, which then allows the water to flow down the condenser coils. The large amount of heat that is transferred from the condenser coils to the water and the air cross flow is what enables the air conditioning unit to be so efficient. A low pressure drop of refrigerant in the condensing coils, the large surface area, and horizontal air flow also helps the air conditioning unit to be efficient.

The invention discloses a refrigeration equipment control method. The refrigeration plant is provided with an inverter compressor and at least one refrigeration compartment. The inverter compressor is provided with N frequency conversion gears. The corresponding rotate speed of frequency conversion gear of gear I is Si, I = 1, 2, ... N. The control method comprises that S1 is to determine an initial speed R0 of the inverter compressor, S2 is to determine the revision frequency conversion speed difference of the inverter compressor according to the actual temperature of the refrigeration compartment and the setting temperature associated with the refrigeration compartment and S3 is to compare the sum of the initial speed R0 and the revision frequency conversion speed differences with the speeds corresponding to gears of the inverter compressor to obtain the required operating gear to operate the inverter compressor at the operating gear and operate S2 continuously. The refrigeration plant control method sets a plurality of gears of the compression engine of the refrigeration plant; the frequency conversion of the compression engine can be effectively controlled. According to the actual using requirements, the rotate speed of the compressor engine can be reasonably adjusted, thereby the refrigeration efficiency is enhanced, good refrigeration effect is ensured and the power consumption of the refrigeration plant is lowered.

The device of the invention is applicable to small-scale low-grade waste heat refrigeration occasions.
