Description

[0001] The invention relates to a method for operating a vehicle, an operating device and a vehicle.

[0002] The invention is based on a method for operating a vehicle, comprising the following steps: Providing a vehicle, the vehicle having a first axle with wheels, the wheels having tires, and at least one second axle with wheels, the wheels having tires, and a braking system, the braking system having a braking device suitable for braking the wheels of the first axle and the wheels of the at least one second axle, and an operating device suitable for operating the braking device, starting a braking process with the braking device and braking the wheels of the first axle and the wheels of the at least one second axle.

[0003] Methods for operating a vehicle are known from the prior art. It is also known from the prior art that the vehicle's wheels are braked by the braking system in order to reduce or completely prevent the vehicle's wheels from rolling.

[0004] The documents DE 10 2004 003886 A1 and DE 10 2020 215816 A1 can be cited as prior art.

[0005] In the methods known from the prior art for operating a vehicle, for example, the wheels could be braked during a parking maneuver, while at the same time a steering system of the vehicle is operated to turn some of the wheels. Turning the wheels means that the wheels are steered, i.e., that a wheel's axis of rotation is rotated by a certain angle. The axis of rotation is the axis around which the wheel can rotate in a circumferential direction. The steering of the wheels of an axle is carried out by means of the steering system, in particular by influencing the axle on which the wheels are arranged.

[0006] The fact that the wheels are braked and steered simultaneously could cause unwanted wear on a tire mounted on a wheel. This potential wear is caused by a portion of the tire rotating on a surface. The surface could be, for example, a parking lot or a roadway.

[0007] Rotation on the ground could create friction between the tire and the ground. This friction could lead to unwanted tire wear.

[0008] The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a method according to claim for operating a vehicle, wherein possible wear of tires of the vehicle is reduced.

[0009] The object of the invention is achieved in that the method comprises the following further steps: Checking whether a steering maneuver is taking place on an axle of the vehicle, whereby the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process; transmitting steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver to the operating device, in the event that a steering maneuver is detected for an axle of the vehicle, whereby in the event that the steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver, whereby the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process, has been transmitted to the operating device and the rotational speed of a wheel of the axle of the vehicle for which a steering maneuver is detected is less than the threshold speed, the braking device for this axle is operated in such a way that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked with the braking device.

[0010] The fact that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked by the braking device means in particular that the braking device for this axle is released.

[0011] The rotation speeds of the wheels are the speeds of rotation of the wheels around their respective axes of rotation.

[0012] The rotation speeds can be detected indirectly, for example based on the speed of the vehicle, or directly, for example using a rotation sensor in the wheel.

[0013] In particular, the values of the rotation speeds are transmitted to the operating device or to a vehicle on-board computer.

[0014] The comparison of the respective rotational speeds of the wheels of the first axle and the wheels of the at least one second axle with a threshold speed is carried out, for example, by means of the operating device itself or by means of another device.

[0015] The additional device is, for example, an on-board computer of the vehicle.

[0016] The fact that the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process means that it is a steering maneuver that takes place at the same time as the braking process.

[0017] The steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver is transmitted to the operating device in particular by means of an electrical or electromagnetic signal.

[0018] Due to the fact according to the invention, the method comprises the further steps: Checking whether a steering maneuver is performed on an axle of the vehicle, whereby the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process; transmitting steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver to the operating device in the event that a steering maneuver is detected for an axle of the vehicle; whereby in the event that the steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver, whereby the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process, has been transmitted to the operating device and the rotational speed of a wheel of the axle of the vehicle for which a steering maneuver is detected is less than the threshold speed, the braking device for this axle is operated in such a way that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked by the braking device, Potential tire friction is avoided by allowing the tire to roll on the ground while the wheel is steered. Tire rolling is associated with less mechanical stress on the tire than, for example, might be the case when a fully braked wheel is turned. This prevents potential unwanted tire wear.

[0019] Thus, an improved method for operating a vehicle is provided.

[0020] The invention further relates to an operating device for a braking system for a vehicle, wherein the operating device carries out the method according to the invention.

[0021] The invention further relates to a vehicle, wherein the vehicle has a first axle with wheels, the wheels having tires, and at least one second axle with wheels, the wheels having tires, and a braking system, the braking system having a braking device suitable for braking the wheels of the first axle and the wheels of the at least one second axle, and an operating device according to the invention. The vehicle may have two, three, or more than three axles.

[0022] The vehicle is, for example, a car, a truck or a two-wheeler.

[0023] Further advantageous embodiments of the present invention are the subject of the subclaims.

[0024] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the wheels of the other axle are further braked with the braking device if no steering maneuver is detected for the other axle after checking this axle for a possible steering maneuver. The other axle can be the first axle if no steering maneuver is detected for the first axle. The other axle can be the at least one second axle if no steering maneuver is detected for the at least one second axle.

[0025] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, the braking device for the axle for which a steering maneuver is detected is operated such that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked by the braking device in the event that the respective rotational speeds of at least two wheels of the axle of the vehicle for which a steering maneuver is detected are less than the threshold speed.

[0026] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, the braking device for the axle for which a steering maneuver is detected is operated in such a way that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked by the braking device in the event that the respective rotational speeds of all wheels of the axle of the vehicle for which a steering maneuver is detected are less than the threshold speed.

[0027] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, the braking device for the axle for which a steering maneuver is detected is operated in such a way that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked by the braking device in the event that the respective rotational speeds of at least half of the wheels of the axle of the vehicle for which a steering maneuver is detected are less than the threshold speed.

[0028] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, the braking device for the axle for which a steering maneuver is detected is operated in such a way that the wheels of this axle are no longer braked by the braking device in the event that the respective rotational speeds of more than half of the wheels of the axle of the vehicle for which a steering maneuver is detected are less than the threshold speed.

[0029] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, a steering maneuver is detected by means of a device of the vehicle and steering maneuver information is transmitted from the device of the vehicle to the operating device.

[0030] The vehicle's device is, for example, on-board vehicle electronics or a vehicle computer.

[0031] The steering maneuver information is transmitted in particular from the vehicle device to the operating device by means of an electrical or electromagnetic signal.

[0032] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, steering maneuver information is generated and transmitted to the operating device when a steering angle change of a steering device of the vehicle, for example, a handlebar, is detected. The steering angle change is detected, for example, using a steering angle sensor installed in the vehicle.

[0033] According to a next preferred embodiment of the present invention, steering maneuver information is generated and transmitted to the operating device when a rotation of a rotational axis of a wheel of the vehicle is detected. The rotation of the rotational axis of the wheel of the vehicle is detected, for example, using a sensor installed in the vehicle, wherein the sensor is suitable for detecting a tilt or rotation of the rotational axis by an angle. In particular, it can be a sensor for detecting a toe of the wheel on which the tire is arranged, i.e., a toe sensor.

[0034] The steering maneuver information is transmitted to the operating device in particular by means of an electrical or electromagnetic signal.

[0035] Further advantages, features and details, to which the invention is not limited in its scope, will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing.

[0036] It shows: Fig. 1 : A vehicle with a braking system and an operating device wherein the method according to the invention can be carried out.

[0037] In the Figure 1 A vehicle 1 according to the invention is shown schematically. The vehicle 1 has a first axle 2 with wheels 3, the wheels 3 having tires 4, and at least one second axle 5 with wheels 3, the wheels 3 having tires 4.

The operating device 8 is suitable for carrying out a method according to the invention. The braking device 7 can be formed from individual braking components arranged on the individual wheels 3.

[0039] After starting a braking process with the braking device 7 and braking the wheels 3, the rotational speeds of the wheels 3 of the first axle 2 and the wheels 3 of the at least one second axle 5 are determined.

[0040] The respective rotational speeds of the wheels 3 of the first axle 2 and the wheels 3 of the at least one second axle 5 are compared with a threshold speed. The comparison of the rotational speeds with the threshold speed can be performed, for example, using a vehicle on-board computer 12. Information about the comparison is transmitted, in particular, from the vehicle on-board computer 12 to the operating device 8, preferably electrically or electromagnetically.

[0041] Furthermore, it is checked whether a steering maneuver occurs on an axle 2, 5 of the vehicle 1, whereby the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process.

[0042] Steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver is transmitted to the operating device 8 in the event that a steering maneuver is detected for an axle 2, 5 of the vehicle 1. In this case, in the event that the steering maneuver information about a steering maneuver, wherein the steering maneuver can be clearly assigned to the braking process, has been transmitted to the operating device 8 and the rotational speed of a wheel 3 of the axle 2, 5 of the vehicle 1 for which a steering maneuver is detected is less than the threshold speed, the braking device 7 for this axle 2, 5 is operated such that the wheels 3 of this axle 2, 5 are no longer braked with the braking device 7.

[0043] A steering maneuver is detected, for example, by means of a device 9 of the vehicle 1 and steering maneuver information is transmitted from the device 9 of the vehicle 1 to the operating device 8.

[0044] In particular, steering maneuver information is generated and transmitted to the operating device 8 when a steering angle change of a steering device 10 of the vehicle 1, for example a handlebar, is detected.

[0045] In particular, steering maneuver information is generated and transmitted to the operating device 8 when a rotation of a rotation axis 11 of a wheel 3 of the vehicle 1 is detected. List of reference symbols
