[0011] The invention relates to an ESB assembly comprising a cable and a support 100, 100', 100", 100‴ of cable C in which the cable C is inserted. Several embodiments of this ESB assembly, corresponding to several possible embodiments of the cable support are presented below.
[0012] We will first describe the structure of a first embodiment of a cable support according to the invention in support of the figures 1(a) à 1(f) .
[0013] The 100 cable support shown in the figure 1 comprises at least one base 10, made of a rigid material, and at least one strap 20 made of a more flexible material than that of the base.
[0014] The base 10 comprises at least one receptacle 11 provided with a longitudinal axis AL and, whose internal dimensions D int , taken in a plane perpendicular to said longitudinal axis AL, are given. The base 10 may comprise a foot P, clippable into a fixed support (not shown in the figure 1 , but visible on the figure 5 ) external to the support 100 according to the invention.
[0015] Said at least one strap 20 comprises at least two lips 21, 22 arranged opposite each other to define a slot F for passage of a cable between said lips 21, 22. Furthermore, these lips are shaped to define an orifice O for supporting said cable. The orifice O is provided with a longitudinal axis AL' and communicates with the slot F along this longitudinal axis AL'.
[0016] The lips 21, 22 together define, after installation of the cable in the orifice O, a dimension D' ext taken in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis AL' of the orifice O, which is equal to or advantageously greater than the internal dimension D int of the receptacle 11.
[0017] From a practical point of view, this can be achieved by providing lips 21, 22, which together define an external dimension D ext , taken in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis AL' of the orifice O before the cable is inserted into the orifice O, equal to or advantageously greater than the internal dimension D int of the receptacle 11. Once the cable is inserted into the orifice O, an external dimension D' ext is then defined such that D' ext ≥ D ext .
[0018] From a practical point of view also, this can alternatively be obtained when said dimension D ext of the lips 21, 22 is less than the internal dimension D int of the receptacle, but the dimension D' ext is greater than or equal to this internal dimension D int . Indeed, the cable C, depending on its geometry and its nature, can have the effect, during its insertion into the orifice O and before the insertion of the lips 21, 22 into the receptacle 11, of deforming the lips to make them pass from an external dimension D ext to a dimension D' ext .
[0019] Thus, in all cases, once the cable is inserted into the orifice O, the insertion of the lips 21, 22 of the strap 20 into the receptacle 11 involves a deformation of the lips 21, 22, due to the fact that their external dimension D' ext is equal to or greater than the internal dimension D int (D ext' ≥ D int ) of the receptacle.
[0020] The lips 21, 22 of the strap 20 are thus forcefully inserted into the receptacle 11 of the base 10.
[0021] Furthermore, once the lips 21, 22 are inserted into the receptacle, the separation of the lips 21, 22 is prevented by the receptacle 11, which prevents the cable from exiting the orifice O.
[0022] This has two consequences.
[0023] The first consequence is that any separation of the lips 21, 22 is prevented by the receptacle 11 so that the cable is blocked in the orifice O. The exit of the cable from this orifice O is therefore avoided or limited in use.
[0024] The second consequence is that the lips 21, 22 are thus maintained in the receptacle 11.
[0025] The retention of the lips 21, 22 in the receptacle 11 can be improved.
[0026] For this purpose, and as concerned by the method of carrying out the figure 1 , each lip 21, 22 comprises an external groove 25, 26 extending along the longitudinal axis AL' of the orifice O and the receptacle 11 comprises two protrusions 12, 13 extending along the longitudinal axis AL of the receptacle 11. The arrangement of the protrusions 12, 13 corresponds to the arrangement of the external grooves 25, 26. Furthermore, the transverse dimension (i.e. a dimension taken transversely to the longitudinal axis AL of the receptacle 11) of the protrusions 12, 13 corresponds to or is advantageously greater than the transverse dimension (i.e. a dimension taken transversely to the longitudinal axis AL' of the orifice O) of the corresponding external grooves 25, 26. Thus, the cooperation of the protrusions 12, 13 and the external grooves 25, 26 provides additional support or blocking which helps to prevent the lips 21, 22 from the receptacle 11 of the base 10 from being removed in use.
[0027] The retention of the lips 21, 22 in the receptacle 11 can be further improved.
[0028] For this purpose, it is possible to attach the strap 20 to the base 10 with complementary means. Thus, and advantageously, said at least one base 10 comprises, on either side of the receptacle 11, a hook 14, 15 and said at least one strap 20 comprises, on either side of the lips 21, 22, an opening 27, 28 comprising an edge B1, B2 capable of cooperating with a corresponding hook 14, 15 of the receptacle 11. These complementary means make it possible to tension the strap 20, in a direction substantially perpendicular to that defined by the longitudinal axis AL' of the orifice O. It is understood that this tensioning is made possible because the strap 20 is more flexible than the base 10.
[0029] The additional means described above are an example of implementation for a removable strap 20.
[0030] It might be different if the strap was not removable.
[0031] It should however be noted that, when the strap 20 is removable, the base 10 provides a counter-hook 140 making it possible, with the hook 14, to define a housing in which the edge B1 of the strap 20 is blocked (except in the case of forced mechanical action by a user). This prevents the loss of the strap 20.
[0032] Furthermore, in order to facilitate the installation of said at least one strap 20 on the base 10, a gripping zone ZP for a user is provided on the strap 20. When the strap 20 provides additional means such as described above, the gripping zone is advantageously located at one end of the strap 20.
[0033] Furthermore, at least one of the lips 21, 22, and advantageously as shown in the figure 1 , each lip 21, 22, is provided with a chamfer 23, 24 between an external surface S ext of said lip 21, 22 and the slot F. The or each chamfer 23, 24 makes it easier to insert the cable into the orifice O.
[0034] We will now describe a second embodiment of a 100' cable support in accordance with the invention in support of the figures 2(a) à 2(c) .
[0035] The support 100' according to the second embodiment is distinguished from the support 100 according to the first embodiment by the absence of grooves on the external surface S ext of the lips 21, 22.
[0036] On the other hand, and unlike the first embodiment, the lips 21, 22 each have a variable thickness according to the direction defined by the longitudinal axis AL' of the orifice O. Thus, on the figure 2(b) , we can observe, by following the directions defined by this longitudinal axis AL', the presence of two protrusions R1, R2 separated by a hollow zone ZC. It is the same on the other lip 22. The contact between the lips 21, 22 and the receptacle 11 is therefore made by means of these protrusions R1, R2. This geometry makes it possible to define damping zones, namely the protrusions R1, R2, between the lips 21, 22 and the receptacle. This damping is of interest in environments where the support and consequently the cable is subjected to vibrations. Indeed, if the flexible nature of the strap makes it possible to protect the strap from vibrations, the damping effect provided by the protrusions R1, R2 separated by a hollow zone ZC makes it possible to improve this protection.
[0037] Furthermore, the strap 20 being more flexible than the base 10, which is rigid, it may be advantageous to provide that at least one of the edges B1, B2 of the strap 20 which is capable of cooperating with the corresponding hook 14, 15 of the receptacle 11 comprises a stiffening means M.
[0038] This possibility is represented on the figure 2 , but could just as easily be implemented with the first embodiment.
[0039] It is understood that this stiffening is only localized, in this case at the level of the border B1, B2 concerned. This means M of stiffening can be obtained by playing on the geometry of the border (thickness greater than the rest of the strip, in particular), as is also the case on the figure 2 . Alternatively, to define this means M of stiffening, it is possible to locally densify the strip 20 at the level of the border B1, B2 concerned, for example by providing an insert, made of a denser material than the material forming the strip 20.
[0040] We will describe a third embodiment of a cable support according to the invention in support of the figure 3 .
[0041] Here, the support 100" comprises at least one base 10 which comprises at least two receptacles 11, 11' and a strap 20, 20' associated with each receptacle 11, 11'.
[0042] In the case illustrated here, the receptacle 11 and the strap 20 are both conforming to the receptacle and the strap previously described in support of the figure 2 .
[0043] On the other hand, the base 10', taken as a whole, is modified compared to the first embodiment, to receive an additional receptacle 11', which is provided with protrusions 12', 13' conforming to the protrusions 12, 13 of the second embodiment and provided with hooks 14', 15' conforming to the hooks 14, 15 of the second embodiment.
[0044] Furthermore, the receptacle 11' is associated with a strap 20' conforming to the strap 20 of the second embodiment and therefore comprising lips 21', 22' defining a slot F' and an orifice O', external grooves 25', 26' to cooperate with the protrusions 12', 13' of the receptacle 11' respectively, openings 27', 28' for the hooks 14', 15' respectively as well as a gripping zone ZP' for a user.
[0045] Each receptacle 11, 11' is advantageously installed at the ends of the base 10'. An orifice OR is provided, on the base 10', between the receptacles 11, 11' to pass through a fastening means, for example a bolt or a screw, allowing the base 10' to be fixed to a fixed support external to the support 100" according to the invention.
[0046] Alternatively, each receptacle can be installed so that the longitudinal axes of the O and O' ports are parallel. In this case, two cables can be installed in parallel.
[0047] Finally, the figure 4 represents a fourth embodiment of a cable support according to the invention.
[0048] In this embodiment, the support 100"' comprises at least one base 10" provided with at least two receptacles 11, 11' and a strap 20" common to the two receptacles.
[0049] The receptacles 11, 11' are in accordance with the receptacles 11, 11' described previously in support of the figure 3 .
[0050] The 20" strap is, however, common to both receptacles 11, 11'.
[0051] Thus, the strap 20" has two pairs of lips 21, 22 on the one hand and 21', 22' on the other hand, each pair of lips being intended to cooperate with one of the two receptacles 11, 11'. The lips 21, 22 are identical to those which have been described previously in support of the figures 1 Or 3 . Furthermore, lips 21', 22' are in conformity with lips 21, 22.
[0052] More generally, the 20" strap can be presented in three parts. A first part P1 and a second part P2, located at the opposite ends of the 20" strap and a central part PC which connects the second part P2 to the first part P1. Each part P1, P2 of the 20" strap is similar to a 20 strap, as described for example with the figure 2 , but with only one opening, namely opening 27 for the first part P1 and opening 28' for the second part P2. Indeed, since the central part PC connects the second part P2 to the first part P1, it is not necessary to provide more openings.
[0053] It remains the case that, in this embodiment, as for all the others, a strap provides an opening by hook of the base, when this method of attachment is provided.
[0054] Furthermore, still due to the presence of a central PC part of the 20" strap, it is advantageous to provide a 10" base fitted with a clip-on foot as on the figure 2 .
[0055] Whatever the embodiment envisaged, the base is made of a rigid material and the strap is made of a more flexible material than that of the base. The rigidity of the base allows a secure hold of the support according to the invention on the fixed support (not shown) on which it is intended to be mounted. The flexibility of the strap allows its deformation so that it can be inserted into the receptacle of the base and ensure a certain support. This flexibility also allows protection (on a mechanical level, less friction) of the cable intended to be housed in the orifice formed between the lips of the strap. This flexibility also allows better protection of the cable against possible vibrations, which is particularly interesting for aeronautical applications.
[0056] More specifically, the 10, 10', 10" rigid base can be made of a thermoplastic material. This is advantageous in environments subject to high temperatures because thermoplastics are poor conductors of heat.
[0057] This thermoplastic material for the base can be chosen from: polyether ether ketone (PEEK), polyimides (PI), polyether ketone ketone (PEKK), polyamides (PA), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polyphenyl sulfone (PPSU), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (E-CTFE), polyethylene (PET), polypropylene (PP).
[0058] More specifically also, the strap 20, 20', 20" can be made of elastomer (E) with a Shore A hardness of between 40 and 85 or of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) with a Shore A hardness of between 40 and 85. The choice of this type of material (elastomer, thermoplastic elastomer) is advantageous in environments subject to high temperatures, because they are poor conductors of heat. Furthermore, the choice of Shore A hardness further improves the retention of the cable in the hole formed between the lips, on a static level but also when the support is subjected to vibrations linked to its installation environment. Furthermore, the choice of this Shore A hardness also improves the retention of said lips in the receptacle of the base when the support is subjected to vibrations linked to its installation environment.
[0059] When an elastomer with a Shore A hardness of between 40 and 85 is taken into consideration for the 20, 20', 20" strap, this elastomer may be chosen from: silicone, acrylonitrile butadiene (NBR), fluoroelastomer, in particular fluorosilicone, polyacrylic elastomer (ACM), polychloroprene (CR), acrylic, chlorosulfonated polyethylene, ethylene-propylene copolymers, polyurethane (PU), natural elastomer (NR).
[0060] When a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) with a Shore A hardness between 40 and 85 is considered, this thermoplastic elastomer may be a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
[0061] In particular, it may be provided, for demanding applications, in particular at high temperature, that the material forming said at least one base 10, 10', 10" is polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and the material forming said at least one strip 20, 20', 20" is a silicone with a Shore A hardness of between 40 and 85, advantageously between 50 and 70.
[0062] In particular, for less demanding applications, it may be provided that the material forming said at least one base 10, 10', 10" is polyamide (PA) and the material forming said at least one strap 20, 20', 20" is polyurethane (PU; elastomer), with a Shore A hardness of between 40 and 85.
[0063] Whatever the embodiment envisaged, it will be possible, in order to obtain the ESB assembly, with a support in accordance with the invention, to implement a method of mounting a cable in a support 100, 100', 100", 100"' according to the invention, comprising the following steps: a) mounting the base 10, 10', 10" on a fixed support, external to said support according to the invention; b) inserting the cable C into the orifice O, O' defined between the lips 21, 22, 21', 22' of said at least one strap 20, 20', 20", via the slot F, F'; c) inserting said lips 21, 22, 21', 22' of said at least one strap 20, 20', 20" into the receptacle 11, 11' of said at least one base 10, 10', 10".
[0064] This assembly process is represented by the figure 5 , with the support 100 of the first embodiment.
[0065] On the figure 5(a) , we observe the base 10 mounted on a fixed support SF, external to said support 100; namely at the end of step a) and before step b).
[0066] On the figure 5(b) , we observe the support 100, at the end of step b) and before step c).
[0067] On the figure 5(c) , we observe the support 100 at the end of step c).
[0068] We can then, as shown in the figure 5(d) , fix the strap 20 permanently using the hook 15 of the base 10.
[0069] Furthermore, prior to step a), a step of mounting the strap 20 on the hook 14 of the base 10 can be provided, after the latter has been mounted on the fixed support SF to achieve the configuration of the figure 5(a) .
[0070] Alternatively, the configuration of the figure 5(a) may not be encountered. This is for example the case if step b) is carried out before mounting the strap 20 on the hook 14 to achieve the configuration of the figure 5(b) . This is compatible with the method described previously in support of steps a), b) and c).
[0071] Furthermore, it is quite possible to reverse the order of the steps.
[0072] In fact, the process can be put in the following order: step b), then step c), then step a).
[0073] Indeed, also, the process can be put in the following order: step b), then step a) then step c).
[0074] The only requirement is that the cable C be inserted into the hole O of the lips 21, 22, before the latter are inserted into the receptacle 11 of the base 10.
