Description

Domaine technique

[0001] The present invention relates to the field of installations for checking documentary data on board a vehicle, in particular when crossing a border. Technique antérieure

[0002] The purpose of such an installation is to collect and verify the identity documents of the passenger(s) of a vehicle wishing to cross a border between two countries.

[0003] Currently, this operation is carried out physically by border control agents, who are responsible for checking identity documents and authorizing or prohibiting border crossings.

[0004] The officers carry out an identity check of the vehicle's passenger(s) based on the identification documents provided by the passenger(s). They also carry out a check of the vehicle based on the vehicle's identity documents, such as the registration document.

[0005] During this operation, an agent must be physically present to consult the various documents presented by the passenger(s), query the databases and carry out the appropriate control procedures.

[0006] When the vehicle is a heavy goods vehicle transporting goods, the agent must also check the administrative documents relating to the goods transported.

[0007] These procedures are time-consuming and require human resources. Furthermore, current protocol requires the agent to be in contact with the vehicle's passengers, which is problematic during a viral pandemic.

[0008] Document US 2017 / 103265 describes a passport control facility that includes a kiosk equipped with a screen and data readers. This facility has several drawbacks. Users must park their vehicles and then proceed to the kiosk. They must then queue before being able to complete the procedures requested by the authorities. Not only is this process time-consuming, but it also requires the user to move away from their vehicle, which then remains unattended. This is particularly problematic if the vehicle is a heavy goods vehicle containing valuable goods. Exposé de l'invention

[0009] One aim of the invention is to propose an installation for acquiring and controlling documentary data on board a vehicle, making it possible to facilitate and accelerate control operations at the border.

[0010] The invention will find its application in particular in rail, road or even port terminals.

[0011] To this end, the invention therefore relates to an installation for acquiring and controlling documentary data on board a vehicle according to claim 1, said installation comprising: a vehicle passage authorization signaling device; an acquisition and communication device, which comprises at least: a tablet comprising at least one screen and a document data reading module, a data transmission module connected at least to the reading module to transmit data to a remote server, a module for receiving data from the remote server, a control module for controlling the actuation of the vehicle passage authorization signaling device; and a terminal fixed to the ground and comprising at least one housing for receiving the tablet.

[0012] Thanks to the invention, at least part of the control operations can be carried out without the presence of a border control officer, who can be assigned to other tasks.

[0013] An example of a sequence implemented using the installation according to the invention is as follows. The vehicle stops next to the terminal, in front of the vehicle passage authorization signaling device which signals to the driver that he must stop his vehicle. The passage authorization signaling device may comprise a tilting barrier and / or a traffic light.

[0014] The housing has an entrance or opening that opens to the outside of the terminal, preferably opposite the vehicle window. The entrance is preferably provided on a side wall of the terminal, preferably a vertical wall. The direction of engagement of the tablet in the housing is therefore substantially horizontal. The tablet is initially placed in the housing. The tablet is intended to be stored in the housing when not in use.

[0015] The driver of the vehicle, or a passenger, then grabs the tablet stored in the terminal's slot and presents a document for it to be read by the reading module. This reading step is known elsewhere. It generally implements an MRZ protocol.

[0016] The documentary data of the document is then transmitted by the data transmission module to the remote service, which is for example the server of the authority in charge of border crossing control. Such a server is known elsewhere. It includes a database, containing in particular the data relating to the persons and vehicles that have entered the country. The server is connected to the transmission module by a computer network, for example via the Internet.

[0017] The remote server carries out, using data contained in the database, automated processing operations on the data read by the reading module. To do this, the remote server comprises, in a known manner, a computer configured to carry out a step of comparing the data received with those contained in the database.

[0018] The remote server transmits data in return to the acquisition and communication device, which receives them using the reception module. The remote server transmits in particular the information according to which the vehicle is authorized or not to cross the border. If so, the control module activates the vehicle's passage authorization signaling device, which can then cross the border and / or go to the next checkpoint. The control module is therefore configured to control the actuation of the vehicle's passage authorization signaling device based on the data received by the reception module. Without departing from the scope of the present invention, the transmission and reception modules can constitute a single communication module performing both functions.

[0019] Advantageously, the tablet is connected to the terminal by at least one elongated element.

[0020] This elongated element, which includes for example one or more cables, extends from the terminal, and more preferably from inside the housing.

Description détaillée

[0066] On the figure 1 an installation is schematically illustrated 10 acquisition of documentary data control on board a vehicle V .

[0067] The installation 10includes a device 12 vehicle passage authorization signal V . In this example, the device 12 crossing signaling includes a barrier 14 The barrier 14 extends across the lane on which the vehicle is traveling V Without departing from the scope of the present invention, the vehicle passage authorization signaling device could consist of a traffic light, or any other signaling device allowing the driver of the vehicle to be informed whether he must stop in front of said signaling device, or whether he can cross it.

[0068] The installation 10 also includes a device 20 acquisition and communication which includes a tablet 22 which has at least one screen 24 and a module for reading documentary information 26. The tablet, illustrated in figures 11 And 12 , will be described in more detail below.

[0069] The communication acquisition device 20 also includes a data transmission module 28 which is connected at least to the reading module 26 to transmit data to a remote server 500 . In this example, the data transmission module 28 transmits data over a computer network, such as the Internet or Ethernet 600 illustrated in the figure 1 . The remote server 500 , which usually belongs to the authority in charge of border crossing control, usually includes a database containing personal data relating to people who have entered the country.

[0070] The remote server 500 also includes a processing module 504to perform a comparison step between the data received by the remote server and the data contained in the database 502 . The remote server 500 is therefore configured to make a decision following a border crossing request transmitted to it by the acquisition and control installation according to the invention. This decision, most often an authorization or a prohibition of crossing, is then transmitted to the installation.

[0071] For this purpose, the acquisition and communication device 20 further includes a data reception module 30 configured to receive data from the remote server 500 .

[0072] With the help of the figure 1 , we understand that the data reception module 30 is also connected to the remote server via the computer network 600. Preferably, the transmission module and the reception module constitute a communication module between the acquisition and communication device and the remote server.

[0073] The acquisition and communication device 20 further includes a control module 32 to control the actuation of the device 12 authorization to signal the passage of the vehicle.

[0074] The installation 10 also includes a terminal 40 which is fixed to the ground S and which includes at least one dwelling 42 to receive the tablet 22 .

[0075] On the figure 2 , part of a terminal has been illustrated, for example a railway terminal located near the border between two countries. In the example of the figure 3 , we note that the vehicle V , hopefully a heavy goods vehicle, is driving onto a traffic lane 700which is closed by the barrier 14 . When the vehicle V is stopped in front of the barrier 14 , the cabin C of the vehicle V is located next to the terminal 40 The passenger, not shown here, can then grab the tablet 22 arranged in the accommodation 42 of the terminal to proceed with the acquisition step. According to a preferred implementation method, each passenger presents their identity document to the reading module 26 of the tablet 22 As will be explained below, other data acquisitions, for example biometric data, can be carried out by the tablet.

[0076] The data read by the reading module 26 are then sent to the remote server 500 thanks to the transmission module 28 . The remote server 500carries out a step of checking the documentary information transmitted to it in relation to the data contained in the database 502 , after which the remote server 500 transmits to the acquisition and communication device, via the reception module 3 0, authorization or prohibition of crossing the border. In the event of a prohibition of crossing, the barrier 14 remains closed. If authorized, the barrier 94 opens provided that, as specified below, the tablet 22 has been replaced in the accommodation 42 .

[0077] As illustrated in the figure 10 , a terminal can have several installations 10 in accordance with the present invention.

[0078] The opening of the barrier 14 is controlled by the control module 32 . In the embodiment wherein the control module 32is included in the tablet 22 , the terminal 40 has a computer 44 which is configured to control the actuation of the barrier 44 . This computer 44 is itself connected to the control module 32 , via a wired or wireless connection.

[0079] According to a preferred but not exclusive variant, the data transmission module 28 and the data receiving module 30 are included in the tablet 22 .

[0080] Alternatively, all or part of the transmission modules, reception modules, control modules may be integrated into the terminal.

[0082] The terminal 40 has a chassis 41 which generally extends vertically. In this example, the terminal40 has two housings, namely a lower housing 42 and superior accommodation 42 '. The driver of the vehicle takes the tablet from the slot 42 Or 42 ' which is most easily accessible to him. We note that the accommodation 42 opens outside the chassis 41 via an entrance 46 by which the tablet 22 is introduced into the accommodation 42 . We understand that the accommodation 42 opens into a vertical wall 45 of the chassis 41 . The direction of tablet engagement 22 in the accommodation 42 is therefore substantially horizontal.

[0083] The terminal 40 also includes a warning light 43 to inform the driver about the operating status of the terminal.

[0084] According to an advantageous aspect of the invention, the tablet 22is connected to the terminal 40 by at least one elongated element 50 . This elongated element 50 cooperates, in this example, with a reel 60 which is preferably arranged adjacent to the accommodation 42 , preferably behind the accommodation 42 , as illustrated in figure 5 The length of the elongated element is sized to allow the shelf to move 22 inside the driver's compartment of the vehicle V, between the passengers. The reel 60 includes a return means which has the effect of rolling the elongated element on itself so that, when the tablet 22 is located in the accommodation 42 , the long, thin housing is located in the reel 60 The roller also prevents the tablet from falling to the floor. The elongated element 50may include a data transfer cable that is connected at least to the data transmission module 28 The elongated element 60 may also include an anti-theft cable, for example a metal cable, to prevent the tablet from being stolen 22 .

[0085] The elongated element 60 may also include an electrical cable to power the tablet.

[0086] According to another variant, the terminal 40 includes a charging module 49 which is arranged in the accommodation 42 , for example below as illustrated in the example of the figure 5 , to recharge a battery 23 of the tablet 22 The connection between the battery and the charging module can be made by cooperation between two electrical connectors, or by induction, these charging modes being known elsewhere.

[0087] Furthermore, preferably, the terminal40 also includes a presence sensor 52 to detect the presence of the tablet in the housing 42 .

[0088] As explained previously, the terminal also includes a computer 44 , which is arranged to control the actuation of the signaling device authorizing the passage of the vehicle V , the computer communicating with the control module 32 previously described. Furthermore, the presence sensor 52 is connected to the computer 44 The computer is configured to prohibit the activation of the vehicle passage authorization signaling device if the presence of the tablet 22 in the accommodation 42 is not detected by the presence sensor 52 .

[0089] On the figure 6 , another embodiment of an installation has been illustrated 10according to the invention. The installation according to the second embodiment differs from the first embodiment essentially in the structure of the terminal 40 .

[0090] According to the invention, the installation 10 also includes a disinfection device 70 of the tablet 22 . This disinfection device 70 has the function of disinfecting the tablet after each use. The disinfection device 70 is placed in the terminal 40 . Also, the tablet 22 is disinfected after the user hands over the tablet 22 in the terminal 40 , and more specifically in housing 42 In other words, thanks to the invention, the tablet is disinfected between each vehicle.

[0091] On the figures 7 And 8 , the accommodation has been described in more detail 42 of the terminal 40 of the installation 10according to its second embodiment.

[0092] The accommodation 42 is presented here in the form of a box 70 which is integrated into the terminal and which opens out of it via the entrance 46 . As can be seen on the figure 7 , a cap is also provided 72 which projects from the terminal frame and surrounds the side and top edges of the entrance 46 .

[0093] The terminal 40 also includes a movable shutter 74 to close the accommodation, and more precisely the entrance 46 housing 42 .

[0094] As can be seen on the figure 7 , the mobile shutter 74 is pivotally mounted relative to the housing 70 around an axis of rotation X which is, in this example, substantially vertical.

[0095] The terminal has an electric motor 76 and a gear system78 connected to an arm 79 linking the gear system 78 and the mobile shutter 74 . On the figure 9 , we illustrated the mobile shutter 74 in its closed position, in which it closes the entrance 46 housing 42 . On the figure 10 , we illustrated the mobile shutter 74 in its open position, in which the vehicle driver can grasp the tablet 22 , or put it back in its housing.

[0096] In this example, the terminal 40 also includes lighting 75 surrounding the entrance 46 , this lighting 75 showing different colors depending on the operating status of the disinfection device.

[0097] With the help of the figure 8 , we will now describe the disinfection device in more detail 70 . The accommodation 42has a cage, preferably metallic, which constitutes a sheath in which the tablet is inserted 22 . In this example, the disinfection device 70 includes UV lamps 92 which are arranged outside the cage 80 so as to surround the tablet 22 when present in the cage. UV lamps are placed in the housing.

[0098] In this example, the UV lamps are of the cold type, and consist of tubes, for example of the Stanley type with cold cathode.

[0099] With the help of the figures 11 And 12 , we will now describe two embodiments of the tablet according to the invention.

[0100] On the figure 11 , we have illustrated a first embodiment of the tablet 22 . The tablet 22 has a body 90 , which is equipped with two side grip handles 92 , 94.
