Description

[0001] According to the preamble of claim 1, the invention relates to a facade or window construction with several adjacent window elements, each delimited by frame elements, with guide rails of a sun protection system provided on two outer frame elements. The present invention also relates to a sun protection system for constructing a corresponding facade / window construction.

[0002] For example, it is known from EP 2 357 310 A2 to provide the guide rail of a sun protection system with mounts for additional functional elements. For example, one guide rail shown therein is known to provide a second guide chamber for guiding an insect or pollen screen or a mount for a balustrade element. The massive guide rail with the deep opening cross-sections complicates the installation, particularly of functional elements that extend across the entire width of the system. Another disadvantage is that such guide rails themselves are quite wide and therefore cover a large area of a window opening. Furthermore, competition for space can arise during installation when attaching the individual components.

[0003] To simplify the installation of so-called ZIP guides for corresponding sun protection systems, it is known to divide the guide rail in the area of the guide cross-sections, as shown in EP 1 669537 B1 or EP 2 157 275 A2. This serves the sole purpose of simplifying access to the undercut area of the guide cross-section and allowing the guided elements to be inserted into the undercut area even after the guide rail has already been installed. Additional functional elements cannot be mounted on these guide rails.

[0004] Generally, sun protection systems are usually installed separately from the often required fall protection systems. The solutions described above, however, show fall protection systems integrated into a sun protection system, which, in turn, are difficult to adapt to existing facade or window structures.

[0005] KR 101 545 612 B1 describes a winding device whose curtain serves as either sun protection or fall protection, depending on its position. KR 2016 0120635 A shows a horizontally movable frame suspended from a parapet and featuring a sun protection device.

[0006] The object of the present invention is to create a sun protection system and a facade / window construction constructed therefrom, which can be better adapted to architectural conditions, such as the window layout.

[0007] Main features of the invention relating to window / facade construction are specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. Embodiments are the subject of claims 2 to 7. The present invention also relates to a sun protection system with a fall protection device as specified in claim 8; embodiments of this system are specified in claims 8 to 15.

[0008] According to the invention, a window / facade construction is provided in which at least one support rail is provided between the guide rails, which support rail is fastened to a central frame element and to which a fall protection device is fixed on one or both sides, which is fixed on its side opposite this support rail to one of the two guide rails or to another support rail.

[0009] By combining support rails with at least one guide rail with an additional holding function for fall protection, fall protection and sun protection systems can be combined in a single structure, regardless of the layout of the window front. For use on an existing facade / window construction, a sun protection system with two lateral guide rails, in which a sun protection curtain is guided, and at least one fall protection system that extends only over a portion of the guide rail spacing is proposed. According to the invention, at least one support rail is provided, which is designed as a holder on at least one side of the fall protection system, while the other side of the fall protection system is held on or in one of the two guide rails. The distance between the guide rails and the width of the sun protection curtain are adapted to the window front to be shaded, while the width of the fall protection is adapted to the respective window element to be protected, so that the support rail can be attached to a frame element between two window elements.

[0010] Accordingly, in a preferred embodiment of the invention, the at least one fall protection device extends across the width of a window element. In principle, however, a fall protection device could also secure several adjacent window elements, thus extending across two or more window elements up to a support rail on a frame element.

[0011] On the upper floors, it is generally provided that at least one window element equipped with a fall protection device is floor-to-ceiling and has the option of being opened.

[0012] A preferred sun protection system provides for at least two fall protection devices to be arranged side by side, each supported by an intermediate support rail, with at least one fall protection device being held in one of the two guide rails. The support on the guide rails can generally be designed to be particularly stable, so that the fall protection device can absorb the required forces. The support rails must, of course, also be sufficiently stable and secured to the mounting surface, e.g., a frame element.

[0013] In order to be able to attach different fall protection devices, including glass fall protection devices of different thicknesses, to the guide or support rails on a sun protection system, it is provided that a holder for the fall protection device is formed on the respective guide and / or support rails, the width of which is adjustable.

[0014] In principle, the fall protection devices can be attached to the at least one guide rail in various ways. In any case, the dual function of the at least one guide rail saves parts, which also reduces installation effort, since the bracket for the fall protection device can be simultaneously secured to the window or façade side when the guide rail is installed. Furthermore, there is a space advantage, especially with narrow frame elements between the window elements, since both the sun protection and the fall protection device form a single structure.

[0015] The guide rail can be constructed as a single piece, in which case the fall protection can be directly screwed to it, for example. Alternatively, if it is designed as a double-chamber profile rail, which can also be constructed in multiple parts, it can be pivoted into the undercut. Other fastening methods are also possible, which will not be discussed in detail here.

[0016] Multi-part guide rails can also be used, combining parts for guiding the sun protection system with parts for mounting the fall protection system. These parts can be assembled before or during the installation of the facade or window structure.

[0017] A preferred embodiment of the guide rail provides that the at least one receptacle is formed between a profile leg arranged on the support profile and a clamping strip, wherein the clamping strip is preloaded against a stop by means of a prestressed elastic holding element arranged between the fall protection device and the clamping strip, wherein a bearing point is preferably provided between the clamping strip and the support profile, which defines a direction of movement of the clamping strip away from the stop in the direction of the fall protection device.

[0018] The guide rail according to the invention offers the advantage that, regardless of its design, the fall protection device can be easily inserted into the still-open receptacle after installation of the guide rail, e.g., on a facade element, a wall, or a window or door frame. Subsequently, according to the preferred design, the clamping strip is inserted and moved against the stop. Finally, the clamping strip is clamped under pre-tension by pressing the elastic retaining element into the gap between the clamping strip and the fall protection device. Thus, the retaining element, pre-tensioned after installation, secures the clamping strip against loosening without the need for additional positive fastening elements.

[0019] This installation sequence is independent of the type of fall protection and any other functional elements involved. For example, guide rail elements mounted on both guide rails of a sun protection system for guiding additional curtains, such as a roll-out insect screen, or light strips, can be installed in essentially the same way as functional elements extending across the entire width of the system, such as insect screen frames, fall protection in the form of glass panes or railings, or burglar-proof grilles.

[0020] The terminal block, initially designed separately from the guide rail, also has the advantage that the functional element, when arranged across the entire width between the guide rails, can be wider and extend to the bottom of the support bracket. Installation is still possible thanks to the subsequently attached terminal block.

[0021] In a preferred development of the invention, it is provided that the bearing point is designed as a joint point which defines a pivot axis about which the terminal block can be pivoted against the stop during assembly.

[0022] This design offers the advantage that it is particularly easy to install and yet still offers a very good and secure hold in the clamped position.

[0023] Preferably, a gap is also provided between the clamping strip and the fall protection device in the assembled position, allowing the clamping strip to be inserted into the bearing point when the retaining element is missing. This gap allows the clamping strip to be hooked into the functional element while it is already in position and pivoted into its final position before the elastic retaining element is pressed into the gap created by the pivoting for final clamping. This assembly can also be carried out by a single installer without difficulty and requires additional special tools to hold the parts in position.

[0024] As an alternative to the terminal block being pre-tensioned against the stop under the clamping force of the holding element, the stop can also be formed by one or more fastening elements that hold the terminal block in a position that pre-tensions the holding element.

[0025] A different assembly sequence may also be required here, whereby the elastic retaining element is first placed on the fall protection and pre-fixed if necessary, before the clamping strip is moved into its pre-tensioning position using the fastening elements. Screws are particularly suitable as fastening elements for this purpose.

[0026] It can be advantageous if the width of the gap decreases towards the bearing point, because then the retaining element is compressed more when pressed deeper into the gap and pressing too deeply can be prevented.

[0027] A further embodiment of the invention provides for the thickness of the clamping strip to increase toward the bearing point. This allows the gap to taper toward the support profile to be realized. This increase can also be provided independently to increase the flexural rigidity, since the bending moments toward the bearing point also increase depending on the point of application of the clamping force by the retaining element.

[0028] Preferably, the at least one elastic holding element is made of rubber, although embodiments made of correspondingly suitable plastics can also be provided.

[0029] In addition to the option of pressing several elastic retaining elements into the gap, either spaced apart from one another or directly adjacent to one another, a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides for the elastic retaining element to be designed as a strip extending the length of the clamping strip. This results in an optimal clamping force that acts evenly across the entire height of the fall protection device.

[0030] A further preferred embodiment of the invention can provide for the clamping strip to have projections and / or recesses on the side facing the fall protection device. This additionally secures the retaining element against slipping out of the gap. Particularly effective securing is achieved if, furthermore, the at least one elastic retaining element preferably has ribs and / or recesses on its side facing the clamping strip that correspond to at least some of the projections and / or recesses thereof.

[0031] Regardless of the formation of corresponding projections / recesses between the clamping strip and the retaining element, it can be advantageous for the at least one elastic retaining element to have barbs that generate increased pull-out forces. These can also interact with a smooth surface of a fall protection device to be mounted, e.g., a glass surface.

[0032] Alternatively, the at least one elastic holding element can also be designed as a spring element made of plastic or metal, e.g. as a spring clip, the legs of which are clamped between the functional element and the terminal block by simply inserting such a spring clip into the gap located there.

[0033] According to the invention, the guide rails and / or support rails have holes for mounting to a substrate, which are covered by the fall protection when mounted. This arrangement, in which the holes are located, for example, directly in the profile leg that forms part of the holder, makes it possible to create a guide rail in which no fastening elements are visible after installation. The fastening elements for mounting to a substrate are also easily accessible, since the clamping strip is not yet mounted to the substrate when the guide rail is mounted. Two or more fastening or bearing points are provided, each at a different distance from the profile strip.

[0034] As already mentioned, additional functional elements can also be used, which can be completely different in nature. Such a functional element can be a first guide rail insert or a light bar, to name two functional elements that are attached to a single guide rail or its support profile. Where fall protection is provided, it is usually attached above the fall protection.

[0035] The guide cross-section of the guide rail means that it can be formed directly in the support profile, but it is also possible for the guide cross-section for the sun protection system to be formed by a second guide rail insert, which sits in a holder in the support profile. This embodiment allows an identical support profile to serve different types of sun protection systems by using appropriately designed guide rail inserts.

[0036] Particularly when the fastening elements are arranged concealed, it is advisable to position the holder for the functional element between the guide cross-section and the building side of the guide rail.

[0037] If functional elements do not run across the entire height of the guide rail, it is possible to arrange two or more functional elements in the holder. For example, a light bar above a fall protection device can be arranged in the holder that runs the entire height of the guide rail. It is also possible to cover an area not used by the functional element with another functional element, for example to cover a groove in the support profile for securing the terminal block. Since the cross-section of the holder is generally unchanged in the unused area, a guide rail insert rotated by 180° can also be used for this purpose, the base of which then closes off the holder to the outside.

[0038] In yet another preferred embodiment of the invention, two or more fastening or bearing points are provided for the clamping strip, each of which has a different distance from the profile strip.

[0039] This embodiment of the invention makes it possible to mount functional elements of varying thicknesses in the holder using a single pairing of guide rail and clamping strip, for example, glass safety barriers with different glass thicknesses, without having to select other components beforehand. The clamping strip is simply attached to the appropriate mounting or bearing point during installation. The corresponding elements can be formed on the clamping strip itself or on the support profile.

[0040] In summary, the mounting between the clamping strip and the profile strip can be adapted to different thicknesses and shapes of the functional element by means of variable fastening or bearing points, by means of adapted profile strips and / or by means of elastic holding elements adapted in terms of thickness and / or shape.

[0041] Further features, details, and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the wording of the claims and from the following description of exemplary embodiments with reference to the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of a guide rail comprising a support profile and a guide rail insert in a first assembly step; Fig. 2 shows a cross-section of the guide rail according to Fig. 1after installation on a window frame with a functional element still to be installed; Fig. 3 a cross-section of the guide rail to illustrate the installation of the functional element; Figs. 4 to 9 cross-sections of exemplary embodiments of guide rails with various functional elements; Figs. 10 to 12 schematic views of embodiments of sun protection systems according to the invention on facades; Fig. 13 a partial longitudinal section of the sun protection system / facade construction according to Fig. 12

[0042] Fig.1 to 5 initially show guide rails without any fall protection devices attached to them. However, the principle of determining functional elements described there can easily be transferred in its details to the installation of fall protection devices, which are referred to in connection with Figs. 6 and 7 will be discussed in more detail. Fig. 8 The window grille shown can also be used as a fall protection device, while in Fig. 9again a different functional element is described in the form of a light bar.

[0043] Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of a guide rail 10, which has a support profile 12 and a guide rail insert 16 with a guide cross-section 18 inserted into a holding receptacle 14. The guide rail cross-section 18 is designed here to guide guide nipples 22 attached to the sides of slats 20 of a Venetian blind (not shown in detail). In principle, however, by selecting a suitable guide rail insert with a corresponding guide cross-section, the curtain of a roller shutter, a window awning, or a sun protection system can also be guided in the guide rail according to the ZIP principle.

[0044] The support profile 12 is shown in accordance with Fig. 1has already been placed on a mounting base 24, wherein the base 24 here is a facade element or a window frame, but the mountability is not limited to such a base. The support profile 12 is designed as an extruded profile and, in the embodiment shown, has three consecutive chambers, wherein the chamber furthest from the base 24 has already been described as a holding receptacle 14. The two remaining chambers 26, 28 have no special function related to the invention, but ensure the necessary stability and the spatial arrangement desired here. For resting on the base 24, a profile leg or a profile strip 30 is provided, which is considerably wider than the chambers 26, 28 of the support profile 12.On the one hand, this serves to create a large support surface for secure mounting on the substrate 24. However, the profile leg 30 also forms a flank of a receptacle 32 for an additional functional element 34, which will be discussed in more detail later. However, the profile leg forming the receptacle 32 does not necessarily have to simultaneously form the support surface for the support profile 12.

[0045] A plurality of holes 36 are provided in the profile leg 30 along the length of the support profile 12, through which the support profile 12 can be mounted to the base 24 using fastening screws 38. Edges 40 of the holes 36 are recessed so that, when using the countersunk screws 38 shown, they can be countersunk flush with the surface 42 of the profile leg 30 in the area of the receptacle 32.

[0046] Fig. 2shows a subsequent assembly step in which, after mounting the support profile 12 on the substrate 24, the functional element 34 is placed on the upper side 42 of the profile leg 30. This conceals the countersunk heads of the countersunk screws 38. The functional element 34 is a guide rail insert for an insect screen (not shown).

[0047] In the next step, which is Fig. 3As illustrated, a clamping strip 44, which has a hook-like cross-section, is now inserted with a first leg 46 into a groove 48 formed in the support profile 12, so that a hinge point is formed, and is then pivoted (counterclockwise as shown) until a second leg 50 of the clamping strip 44 rests against a stop 52. This stop is recessed in the support profile 12, so that the second leg 50 is recessed into the inside of the support profile 12. Initially, a gap 54 remains between the clamping strip 44 and the functional element 34.

[0048] To finally clamp the functional element 34, an elastic rubber retaining element 56 is pressed into the gap. No further fastening measures are required. The clamping force is applied over the entire length of the functional element 34.

[0049] The elastic retaining element 56 is strip-like, but is profiled in such a way that barbs are formed on its side facing the functional element 34. These barbs tend to stand up when the retaining element 56 moves out of the gap 54, thus increasing the holding force and impeding movement out of the gap 54.

[0050] On the side facing the terminal block 44, the retaining element 56 is formed with a rib 58 and a groove-like recess 60. The rib 58 is designed to snap into a groove-like recess 62 in the terminal block 44, while a rib-like projection 64 on the terminal block 44 lies in the recess 60 in the assembled end position. The corresponding elements define a precise position of the retaining element 56 in the end position, since inaccurate positioning at this point can be visually very disturbing. Furthermore, the aforementioned elements further complicate the removal of the retaining element 56 from the gap 54.

[0051] In Fig. 4 to 9A few variants of different functional elements will now be briefly presented, whereby the previously described guide rail insert 16 with the guide nipples 22 of the slats 20 of a Venetian blind guided therein remains unchanged. Nevertheless, with all variants of functional elements, another sun protection system with its curtain could also be guided in suitable guide rail inserts, such as a roller shutter, an awning, a blind, or the like.

[0052] In Fig. 4 is a cross-section of a guide rail according to Fig. 1 to 3 after installation of the sun protection system, whereby the functional element 34, as already discussed, is a guide rail insert for an insect screen.

[0053] In Fig. 5In the receptacle 32 defined by the clamping strip 44 and the profile leg 30, a frame element 134 is inserted as a functional element, to which an insect screen fixed frame 135 can be attached in a known manner using locking pins 137. The frame element 134 always remains in the receptacle 32, while the insect screen fixed frame can be removed by removing the pins 137. As can be seen from the cross-section of the frame element 134, this is a guide rail insert 34 rotated by 180°, as in the Fig. 4 The embodiment shown is used as a functional element. The base merely needs to have appropriate holes for the locking pins 137, which, however, do not affect its use as a guide rail insert, so that they can always be present for different uses.

[0054] It should also be mentioned that it is possible to simply conceal the mount using guide rail inserts rotated by 180° or simple C-profiles, whereby the only function of the functional elements is then to conceal otherwise visible fastening elements.

[0055] In Fig. 6The guide rail 10 is directly provided with a glass pane 234 as a functional element in the receptacle 32. The rubber holding element 256 has a slightly different cross-section here and has internal cavities 257 to improve elasticity. Deviating from the previously described embodiments, an elastic glass support 259 is also arranged between the glass pane 234 and the profile leg 30, which serves to protect the glass pane 234 from direct contact with the profile leg 30. The second elastic element 259 is secured in an opening 31 provided for this purpose in the profile leg 30 before the glass pane 234 is placed in the receptacle 32.

[0056] The glass pane 234 extends only over part of the height of the guide rail 10 and is anchored equally and symmetrically on both sides. It serves as a fall protection device. The clamping strip 244 is shortened here, as an example, only over the height of the glass pane 234, corresponding to the holding element 256. With a longer holding element and a longer clamping strip, the holder 32 can then accommodate a cover panel or another functional element, e.g., a light strip.

[0057] Fig. 7 shows a further fall protection device in the form of a railing 334, which is fixed here as a functional element in the receptacles 32 of the two guide rails 10. The holding element 256 corresponds to the Fig. 6shown holding element for clamping the glass pane 234 provided there, since the railing 334 also extends only over a partial height of the guide rail 10. However, the second elastic holding element can be omitted here because the hollow frame element of the railing is insensitive to direct contact with the profile leg 30.

[0058] Fig. 8 shows the anchoring of a burglar-proof window grille 434 as a functional element, which is anchored in the receptacles 32 of the two guide rails 10. In cross-section, the fastening corresponds to the fastening of the fall-proof railing 334 from Fig. 7 , however, here the window grille 434 and accordingly also the clamping strip 44 and the holding element 456 are formed over the entire length of the guide rail.

[0059] Furthermore, Fig. 9a completely different type of functional element 534, which is designed as a light bar. Here, a frame part 535 is inserted into the receptacle 32 in a Fig. 1 to 5 shown, wherein an LED light strip 539 is accommodated in a holder 537 in the frame part. The electrical connection (not shown) can be made through a hole in the profile leg and the window frame.

[0060] In order to enable shading of several adjacent floor-to-ceiling windows 102, 106, which only partially require fall protection, the Fig. 10 to 12shown sun protection systems are provided, which are integrated into a facade / window construction. Here, the sun protection systems 1000 are designed in such a way that they extend over several window elements 102, 106. The guide rails are arranged accordingly on the flanks of the outermost window elements and are connected, for example, to the frame elements arranged there as a mounting base. In the case of the Figs. 10 and 12 The guide rail 10 can be designed in the previously discussed manner only on one side, while on the other side, the use of a conventional guide rail 108 without mounts for additional functional elements is possible because no fall protection is required on the window element 106 provided there. However, if other functional elements are desired, the guide rail there can of course also incorporate the proposed innovations.

[0061] Simplified support rails 610 are provided between the guide rails and are fixed to the frame elements. These support rails can also be designed as double-sided support rails 611, as shown in Figs. 11 and 12 shown when they are to hold glass elements 234 on both sides as fall protection.

[0062] The support rails 610, 611 are Fig. 13 explained in more detail, whereby the facade shown there in section with the sun protection system 1000 of the embodiment according to Fig. 12 The guide rail 108 on the system side without fall protection is not shown for the sake of simplicity. Frame elements 624, 625 of the facade, which are arranged between the window elements 102, 106 and at their edges, serve as the mounting base 24. The guide rail 10 at the edge corresponds in essential points to the guide rail 10 according to Fig. 6 and is therefore not explained further.

[0063] The support rails 610, 611 each have a facade-side profile strip 630, 631 and clamping strips 644 for clamping the glass elements 234 shown here as fall protection, so that the clamping is functionally similar to that of the previously described guide rails 10 with their profile strips 30 and clamping strips 44. Here, too, the clamping force is generated by elastic holding elements 256 and glass supports 259, which are deformed accordingly during assembly. The two-sided support rail 611 has a double-sided profile strip 631 provided as a glass support for the double-sided installation of glass elements 234, 634, while the clamping strips 644 used for both types of support strips are the same. However, this is not absolutely necessary.

[0064] As a special feature, the support rails 610, 611 each have two bearing points 660, which, for example, are designed as grooves on the clamping strips 644. These allow the clamping strips 644 to be mounted at different distances from the profile strips 630, 631, in order to install different glass thicknesses without having to use other parts. This multiple design of bearing points can also be applied in the same way to the guide rails, which are then designed in the area of the clamping strips to match the support rails 610, 611.

[0065] As shown, completely different functional elements can be mounted on the guide rails 10 using a single support profile and a clamping strip. The guide cross-section can also be adapted for different types of sun protection systems using appropriate guide rail inserts. Depending on requirements, the guide rails can be combined with conventional guide rails and with support rails arranged between the guide rails to create a sun protection system according to the invention.

[0066] The invention is not limited to one of the embodiments described above, but can be modified in many ways.

[0067] All features and advantages arising from the claims, the description and the drawings, including design details, spatial arrangements and method steps, can be essential to the invention both individually and in a wide variety of combinations.
