Description

Field of invention

[0001] The field of the invention is that of the design and manufacture of fences.

[0002] The invention relates more particularly to the securing of rigid barred grid panels to vertical posts of a fence.

[0003] The invention relates even more particularly to devices for fixing barred grid rails to vertical posts of a fence. Prior art

[0004] A fence is generally made up of a succession of posts and barred railings. The posts are erected vertically and spaced apart from each other. Each railing generally consists of two horizontal rails and vertical bars that extend between the two rails. Each barred railing is fixed between two successive posts by means of its rails.

[0005] There is a known technique that involves screwing a barred grid onto the posts. Assembling the fence is then a long and difficult operation.

[0006] Furthermore, such a fixing is removable and therefore does not allow the enclosure protected by the fence to be perfectly secured.

[0007] There is also a known technique of fixing barred grilles to posts with grooves or slots. To do this, the rails of the grilles are equipped with a tip that attaches to a shoe with a lug that can cooperate with the slots in the post.

[0008] This technique allows for relatively easy assembly. However, this technique has a significant manufacturing cost.

[0009] Furthermore, this technique is only suitable for posts with fixing slots. It is also only suitable for a particular type of bar grille.

[0010] Another technique, known from document DE9410107U1, consists of using collars, each one embracing the post and one end of the rail.

[0011] Such a technique is relatively simple to implement but these collars are only compatible with round posts, i.e. posts with a strictly circular section. Document WO02 / 072982A discloses a technique that is only compatible with posts with a rectangular section.

[0012] Currently known techniques are therefore not satisfactory and there is therefore a need to provide a technique for fixing a barred grid to vertical posts which is simple to use, inexpensive and which can be implemented on all types of posts. Summary of the invention

[0013] The present technique makes it possible to resolve at least some of the drawbacks raised by the prior art. The present technique relates in fact to a device for fixing a rail (or horizontal bar) of a barred grid on a vertical post comprising a first portion intended to be inserted into one end of the rail, said first portion being extended by a second portion carrying an axis extending perpendicular to said second portion and being intended to cooperate with the vertical post.

[0014] According to the present technique, said first portion is formed by a first element, called a tip, and the second portion is formed by a second element, called an insert, passing right through the first element.

[0015] In this way, a barred grid can be easily fixed to a vertical post. In fact, the first portion of the device is simply inserted into the rail of a grid which is generally in the form of a rectangular hollow profile. The second portion of the device, integral with the first portion, carries a securing pin which extends perpendicular to said second portion and which cooperates with the vertical post.

[0016] By crossing we mean that the second element penetrates the first element from one side to the other.

[0017] Thus, the device is composed of two separate parts, namely a tip and an insert which are assembled by simply fitting the second portion (the insert) into the first portion (the tip).

[0018] The proposed technique is simple to implement. In addition, the fixing device is of simple design and therefore has a relatively low manufacturing cost.

[0019] The fixing device according to the proposed technique allows fixing barred grilles both on notched type posts and on rebate type posts.

[0020] The proposed technique makes it possible to make existing barred grids and vertical posts compatible, which was not possible with prior art techniques.

[0021] According to the invention, the fixing device further comprises means for holding the fixing device on the rail which are intended to secure said first portion and said second portion of the device together with the rail.

[0022] This ensures a simple and reliable connection of the end piece and the insert of the fixing device to the rail.

[0023] According to the invention, said first portion comprises a first hole and said second portion comprises a hole arranged opposite the first hole, said holding means cooperating with said first and second holes.

[0024] Thus, the holding means not only make it possible to secure the first and second portions together, but also to fix the first and second portions to the rail.

[0025] According to a particular aspect, said holding means are in the form of a holding screw, at least the second hole being tapped.

[0026] The use of a screw makes it possible to simply and reliably secure the rail of the barred grid with the end piece and the insert of the fixing device.

[0027] Other solutions than a screw, such as a pin, can be implemented.

[0028] According to another particular aspect, said first portion and said second portion are fixed or immobile relative to each other.

[0029] In this way, the fixing device is robust.

[0030] According to yet another particular aspect, said axis carried by said second portion is fixed relative to the latter and extends on either side of said second portion.

[0031] In this way, the connection of the fixing device, and therefore of the rail, with the vertical post is reliable and durable.

[0032] According to a particular aspect of the invention, said axis passes through said second portion.

[0033] The axle can then be inserted into the second portion.

[0034] According to a particular aspect of the invention, said axis is a circular rod.

[0035] The invention also relates to a fence having at least one barred grid and at least one fixing device as described previously for fixing a rail of said barred grid to at least one vertical post.

[0036] Advantageously, the post is of the notched type or the rebate type. List of Figures

[0037] The proposed technique, as well as the various advantages it presents, will be more easily understood, in the light of the following description of an illustrative and non-limiting embodiment thereof, and the appended drawings among which: [ Fig 1 ] is a perspective view illustrating the fixing device according to the proposed technique; [ Fig 2 ] is an exploded view of the fixing device of the figure 1 ; [ Fig 3 ] is a perspective view of the fixing device of the figure 1in which the retaining screw is not shown; [ Fig 4 ] is a perspective view showing the fixing device according to the proposed technique before insertion into a rail of a barred grid; [ Fig 5 ] is a side view of the fixing device of the figure 1 inserted into a rail of a barred grid; [ Fig 6 ] is a sectional view along the CC axis of the fixing device of the Figure 5 ; [ Fig 7 ] is a rear view of the fixing device of the Figure 5 ; [ Fig 8 ] is a perspective view of the fixing device of the figure 1 implemented with a first type of vertical post; [ Fig 9 ] is a side view of the figure 8 ; [ Fig 10 ] is a perspective view of the fixing device of the figure 1 implemented with a second type of vertical post; and [ Fig 11 ] is a side view of the figure 10 . Detailed description of the invention

[0038] An embodiment of the proposed technique is then illustrated, treated as a simple illustrative, and non-limiting, example, in support of the figures 1 to 11 Identical elements in different figures have the same references.

[0039] The principle of the invention is based on the implementation of a device 1 for fixing a rail L, or horizontal bar, of a barred grid to a vertical fence post P.

[0040] To do this, the fixing device 1 comprises a first portion, or end piece, 11 intended to be inserted into the end of a rail L of a barred grid. Such a rail L is generally in the form of a rectangular section profile.

[0041] Thus, the end piece 11 has a first part 113 whose section has a shape corresponding to the section of the rail L and dimensions adapted to allow its insertion into the rail L.

[0042] The tip 11 comprises a second part 114 of substantially pyramidal shape (with a square base) whose point or end has an opening 115.

[0043] The end piece 11 is preferably made of plastic and is used to close the end of the rail L.

[0044] The end piece 11 further comprises a first through hole 111 located on the first part 113.

[0045] According to the present technique, the fixing device 1 also comprises a second portion, or insert, 12 intended to be inserted into the hollow end piece 11 and to pass through the latter. More precisely, the insert 12 slides at the end of the first part 113 and opens through the opening 115 of the end piece 11. The insert 12 therefore penetrates the hollow end piece 11 right through and extends through the latter from one side to the other.

[0046] The insert 12 is preferably made of stainless steel and has two through holes 122, 123 each arranged at one end of the insert 12. More specifically, the first hole 123 is configured to receive and hold a securing pin 121 which is intended to cooperate with the vertical post P. The securing pin 121 extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the insert 12 and parallel to the axis of the vertical post P once mounted. The securing pin 121, also called a pin, is preferably made of stainless steel.

[0047] The securing axis 121 passes through the insert and extends symmetrically on either side of the latter.

[0048] In the example illustrated, it is a cylindrical rod which is force-fitted into the through hole 123.

[0049] The second hole 122 is tapped and is intended to cooperate with a retaining screw 13.

[0050] The second hole 122 is located opposite the first hole 111 of the end piece 11 when the insert 12 is inserted into the end piece 11 so that the retaining screw 13 can pass through the end piece 11 and screw into the tapped hole 122 of the insert 12.

[0051] As illustrated on the figures 7 , 9 And 11 , the rail L is also drilled so that the retaining screw 13 cooperates with this drilling and the holes 111 and 122. Preferably, the drilling of the rail L is located on the lower face of the rail L, for aesthetic reasons, in particular.

[0052] Thus, the retaining screw 13 makes it possible to maintain and immobilize the rail L with the end piece 11 and the insert 12 of the fixing device 1.

[0053] The implementation of such a retaining screw 13 allows reliable locking of the fixing device 1 to the rail L. It also makes it possible to eliminate, or at least minimize, the assembly clearances between the fixing device 1 and the rail L, compared to a conventional fitting of a fixing device into one end of a rail.

[0054] The end piece 11 also makes it possible to center the insert 12 in the end piece 11 by a drawer-type system. More precisely, the end piece 11 has grooves 116 in which the insert 12 can move (cf. figure 7 ).

[0055] Preferably, the fixing device 1 is secured to the rail L before the fixing device 1 is assembled on the vertical post P.

[0056] THE figures 8 and 9 illustrate the fixing of a rail L of a barred grid on a vertical post P of a first type, namely a post P with rebates.

[0057] This type of P post is also used for fixing grids or rigid mesh using C fixing clips (visible on the figures 8 and 9 ). These C clips have grooves or channels which in this case receive the uprights of the grid and hold them to allow the grid to be secured to the P post.

[0058] The fastening device 1 according to the proposed technique is configured to allow use with such fastening clips C. More specifically, the securing axis 121 of the fastening device 1 is capable of cooperating with two fastening clips C. As illustrated in the figure 8 , each end of the securing axis 121 is received in a groove of a fixing clip C so as to immobilize the securing axis 121 in the rebate of the post.

[0059] The attachment of the rail L to the vertical post P by means of the fixing device 1 is therefore relatively simple and does not require any particular installation tool.

[0060] In addition, the fixing device 1 allows the user to easily assemble a fence comprising a plurality of vertical posts P and barred grids. Indeed, to assemble the grids to the posts P, the user simply has to cut the grid to the desired length and pierce the end of the rail L in order to fix the fixing device 1 there. This manipulation is relatively easy and can therefore be repeated without difficulty by the user.

[0061] THE Figures 10 and 11 illustrate the fixing of a rail L of a barred grid on a vertical post P of a second type, namely a post P with notches E.

[0062] This type of vertical P post with E notches is well known. It has tabs that are spaced apart to define E notches. In normal use, the tabs are configured to receive a vertical upright of the grid or rigid mesh while the E notches are configured to receive horizontal crosspieces of the grid or rigid mesh.

[0063] The fixing device 1 according to the proposed technique is configured to allow use with such posts P with notches E. More precisely, the securing pin 121 is able to be received in two consecutive tabs and the end of the insert 12 carrying the securing pin 121 is able to be received in a notch E of the vertical post P.

[0064] The attachment of the rail L to the vertical post P by means of the fixing device 1 is therefore, once again, relatively simple and does not require any tools.

[0065] Thus, the proposed technique allows easy fixing of a rail L of a barred grid on vertical posts P of the rebate type, or slots, F or of the notched type E, without requiring modification of these posts.

[0066] The fixing device 1 of the proposed technique therefore makes the barred grids compatible with the two types of vertical P posts currently existing on the market.

[0067] The proposed technique allows the installation of a fence comprising both welded panels and barred grilles.
